We are Sergiu, Olga, and Andrei and we have been working on Unbound: Worlds Apart since forever.... kidding for 3 years now.
The game was inspired by a UK metal band called Architects which gave us the ideas of multiple portals and dimensions. We also got inspired by games like Limbo, Hollow Knight and Ori And The Blind Forest, Braid, or The Swapper.
Unbound: Worlds Apart it's an atmospheric hand-drawn puzzle platformer where you can play with portals in a Metroidvania fashion. Each portal gives you a different ability or affects the environment in a strange way.
In Unbound you will be playing and thinking with portals, discover a great story, encounter enemies and outsmart some bosses.
In this demo, you will be going to play with three different portals.
Try the demo and if you like it please don't forget to wishlist and follow Unbound: Worlds Apart!
The game evolved a lot during this time. From just a simple puzzle game to a puzzle platformer with Metroidvania elements. Soli can get new abilities like double jump or dash and he also has to face some bosses in his journey. Besides abilities and bosses, we also added some secret maps with harder platforming sections and more difficult puzzles for completionists.
Right now Unbound has around 5 hours of gameplay on the main path (main quests) but we still need to add more art and polish the visuals of the levels. We also have to develop one more map which will add at least one hour of gameplay on the main path.
We still have a lot of work to do to make Unbound the best game it can be. That's why we decided to postpone the launch to Q1 of 2021.
Live AMA (ask me anything) on Twitch and Steam.
Thursday (tomorrow) at 18:00 PM GMT we are going to be live on Twitch and Steam. Join us to chat more about development progress on Unbound.
We decided to launch the Unbound: Worlds Apart Prologue as a stand-alone game because the maps and the story will undergo lots of changes in the full game.
It's been one month since we launched the prologue for Unbound and it was very well received and played by over 85k people. We are also very happy to brag about receiving an overwhelmingly positive score review. YEY!
It's almost the end of the year and the holidays are upon us. For the last two months, we have been working hard on Unbound. We're finally ready to show you the progress we've made during this time.
We spent some time redesigning Soli. We feel that this version looks better and is more expressive. We're currently in the process of updating the animations and hope we'll have the new model soon in the game.
Soli has a new movement
Along with the new outfit, Soli got some new moves as well! We decided to tweak the character movement in order to make it more responsive and make platforming easier and controllable. Here is a video comparing the old and the new movement.
First Boss Concept Art Throughout the game, you will face some ferocious monsters and you have to find clever ways in order to defeat them by using the portals. We want to show you our first boss concept art called "Sandwyrm".
The next update will be in 2020. Until then, come join us on Twitter and Discord.
