The next week is going to be very full: from October, 3rd to 6th we will present Iratus: Lord of the Dead at IgroMir, the first large-scale annual exhibition of computer and video games in Russia, organized in Moscow, and we'll release a content update.
In a first big update, there are three new enemies, one new minion (and one more in the supporter pack), several UI improvements, a new "Endless Rise" mode, new Iratus spells, changes to old and two dozens of new artifacts.
New minion Unfrozen: Ice Wave and Winter is Close deals magic damage to two enemies and reduces their Initiative, which allows him to do more damage. The Ice Spear deals physical damage to the enemy at any position. Call of Winter deals magic damage and causes the enemy to take more damage. Shattering Cold destroys an enemy trap, and Cold Embrace freezes an ally, restoring Vigor.
The Infested, the exclusive minion for owners of the Supporter Pack, attacks the enemies with Slingshot, curses them with the Rancid Breath, Pestilent Rain inflicts four stressful blows, Absorb Malady removes all debuffs from the ally, and the buff Magnified Wretchedness increases his Initiatives and Accuracy. And finally, the curse of the Plague Garden strikes the opponents minds until the end of the battle.
The new eternal mode «Endless Rise» allows you to hone your skills at increasingly complex levels. Immerse yourself in the depths of despair without limits!
Of course, we also prepared big balance changes, fixes for annoying bugs and made the interface more variable and convenient. Soon you can try it all yourself!
It's been an overwhelming 2 months since we released Iratus: Lord of the Dead into Early Access. With the wonderful feedback you have delivered, we can make sure to evolve Iratus into the best version it can be.
Though Feedback wasn't the only thing you were able to give back to us: During our Summer-Tour we were able to present Iratus at several Gaming Events - and meet you, the community, in person! Seeing you play our game live and witnessing your reaction while doing so, never gets old.
W : O : A - Wacken Open Air 2019
Seemingly Metalheads and the dark side of Magic, Necromancy and dead Corpses go along really well together. The style and theme pulled many gamers towards our booth - especially ones that were completely new to the rouge-like genre and were intrigued by Iratus' Appearance.
PAX West 2019
"Rogue-like? Sure, i know what that is, i've played hours and hours of it!" - Compared to Wacken, the visitors general know-how was remarkable. We were suprised, but excited, by the deeper questions you riddled us with.
IgroMir 2019
You couldn't make it to Wacken or Seattle? No problem at all - we have still one more station ahead of us on our convention-journey: the IgroMir in Moscow. If you want to check out the game, show your trained skills or just want to chat with the developers - nothing easier than that - just drop by!
The time has come for the last of this series of announcements of new characters. And then we will prepare for the update, looking forward to it with you by the beginning of October! Today we meet the new impressive enemy of Iratus - the Gargoyle.
Initially a product of fashion, these rather hideous beasties came about on the whims of a famous noble who decided to decorate his estate with them as a prank. Unfortunately, the practice soon became fashionable and stone carvings of winged creatures would start cropping up among estates and cities all across the land. At the height of their popularity, you’d even find one occasionally hanging above the baker’s shop. But once the fad passed, the local authorities were stuck trying to figure out what to do with all the statues that were never too appealing to begin with. Fortunately, the dwarves' Alchemists Guild stepped in and offered to buy all the unwanted Gargoyles (for cheap). The humans didn’t ask why the alchemists wanted them, merely happy to have turned a small profit from all the useless statues that they were now rid of. Iratus will now have to handle the consequences of this deal. Gargoyles are quite unpleasant in the battle: they scratch the minions with their claws, bring down the blows of their heavy wings and very effectively withstand attacks and protect their allies with their stone essence.
In the upcoming autumn update, exclusively for those who supported us with the Supporter Pack, we'll add another new minion - the Infested. For some of you he is already a little familiar, and now is the time to fully reveal his features and abilities.
Iratus has always prided himself on using only the best materials for his zombies, making them far more imposing than the second-hand creations of other necromancers. However, with a few improvements, even the more traditional shambling corpses can find a place in the army of the Lord of the Dead. Enhanced by the curse of frailty, these creatures are feeble but also the perfect hosts for all manner of plague. Constantly emitting noxious fumes, these unassuming grunts can wreak havoc on enemy morale from the from lines, and at the same time he is able to rid allies of negative effects.
We are all anticipating our first content update which will feature new minions, enemies, reworked artifacts and new mechanics. Today we are introducing a new enemy from the mercenary barracks — the Shadow Elf. Shadow Elves were created centuries ago, when a few inquisitive members of the elven druidic order experimented with mixing the powers of nature and necromancy — something that Iratus might have had a hand in back in the day. As it turns out, sometime after Iratus was defeated, these experiments were uncovered and the druids, along with their followers, banished underground. Thus a wholly new type of elven society was formed, wielding magic that gifts them with the ability to control life in unnatural ways. Unfortunate that now this power is being used against the necromancer, but even undead overlords make mistakes. Shadow Elves are masters of the dark arts: they deal magical damage, make allies vampires and deprive enemies of vigor — in short, they are dangerous opponents.
Necromancers! New game version with Russian voiceovers by Dmitry "Goblin" Puchkov and Vladimir Antonik is finally published! Lets update, try it, enjoy and choose your favorite Iratus voice!
If you’re already bored awaiting new content, we are going to surprise you with today's heroes — new long-awaited Iratus minions, the Unfrozen.
In the cold north there is little life and death is quick to cull the weak. Here the last remaining necromancers made their home after their craft became forbidden, gathering any that escaped the persecutions. They labored, trying to survive, but without resources they were quickly dying out. Thus they attempted to walk down the only path available to them – becoming undead. As the years went on, their minds and bodies were eroded in the frozen wastes until they sank beneath the ice... yearning to feast upon the living. Unlike Iratus, they had not truly mastered death and thus were consumed by it. But it does not mean that their legacy will be forgotten. Through their death, they had created the curse of the Unfrozen and the great necromancer has finally managed to unleash it upon the world. Fitting that his colleagues would serve him one last time.
They use distant magic spells as their weapon and can throw spears dealing physical damage. With their ominous appearance, they reduce Initiative of enemies to increase the damage. But they also heal comrades and destroy traps.
Great news! Team Unfrozen is tirelessly working on the first content update for Iratus. New minions and enemies, as well as improved game mechanics, are right around the corner. We're looking forward to giving you more details in the near future!
And here we go with the first one! Introducing a new enemy – The Ataman! She and her gang spent a good few years plundering the south before being captured and hauled off to die in the mines beneath the castle. Somehow due to her sassy nature and exotic mannerisms she has managed to rally and hoodwink the other more brain-damaged convicts to follow her lead. Now they are fiercely loyal to their new boss and will lay down their lives for her approval, while she views her new gang with complete and utter contempt. As a true leader of her gang, the Ataman can cause substantial damage — both physical and magical. She can make an enemy fall asleep and can also be healed at the expense of her allies' Vigor.
