Let’s recap what we’ve done last week. We introduced the character pick limitation system for better competitive & team-based experience. We also made it a bit more clear about each character’s role as well as officially releasing a new character Bigboy who is specialized for the team fight. Then we enhanced UI for the Cheat Report System. All we did last week were to lay the groundwork for this week’s update, mainly the Rank Game. We are also adding in-game Ranking board. Wanted to dig deeper into the competition? This update will be the beginning.
Rank Game
Minimum level requirement is 10 (may be changed later)
Leavers will lose a lot of RP(Rank Point).
It’s a 5 vs 5 match, and the team will be matched with other teams with as similar team RP as possible.
Maps will be randomly chosen from the followings :
Period : May 25 – June 29 (It may be adjusted later if matching pool/tech issues arise)
Reward : Top 100 will receive a new character a week ahead than the others.
It is probably a good idea to come to our official Discord and find a teamy and do even a voice chat ftw.
Ranking Board
EXP, RP Ranking Board is updated along with the Rank Game. You can now visually check your whereabouts in ladder.
Hit boxes
It is one of the most difficult jobs for us to address the Hit Registration issues as many cases are caused by network latencies. Anyway, we’ve done what we can do at the moment hoping it’d improve overall experiences regarding the Hit Registration even a bit.
The hit collision size of Phoenix, Bigboy, Natasha, Cindy, and Rhino are slightly increased.
3rd person animations for being hit is decreased by 80%.
3rd person sounds for being hit is increased by 25%.
Strafing, backward movement speed adjustment
Even though we’ve decreased strafing speed once, we are still in the need of additional adjustment on strafing speed and backward movement speed based on each character’s weapons. [Phoenix]
From this week, we are going to increase the anti-cheat security level along with the Rank Game update. If you get kicked out of the game with security alert pop-up, we strongly advise to turn off any third party programme that is possibly related to the game. If you have a problem even after, please come to our Discord and consult with Devs.
First Win Bonus
You will get some bonus exp for the first win. You can get another first win bonus after 24 hours from the previous one. You will be able to tell if you are good to receive the bonus or not by the UI below.
Merging Asian Servers
South East Asia & East Asia servers will be merged into one ‘Asia’ Server due to low traffic there.
Next update Sneak-Peak
Auto Team Balance: The system automatically mixes up the team when starting the match and for the people joining the game. The downside though is that players who wish to play together may not be able to play together in the normal game as we don’t have the party system yet except the Rank Game.
More Key mapping options
Estimated update date is June 1.
Thank you for reading and we’ll be looking forward to seeing you in the game..! Especially the Rank Game :) Please don't forget to leave a review here if you haven’t. It helps us grow a lot. Thank you very much.
With this major update, we are making one step further to shape the game to have more competitive & team-based experience by adding a new character Bigboy and adding a system to limit character picks. Bigboy is a sub-dealer which could be best utilized for a team fight. And the new character pick system will make the team have necessary characters for the win. Along with other few balance changes, we also are introducing the new shooting mechanic, charge shot, for Natasha in order to make skillful players stand out and make Natasha more sniper-like.
We are also adding one more map, Fortress, which is relatively simpler & larger map than the others. For the Domination mode, we have some rule changes to make the game flow more dynamically along with the time passing by.
So, let’s find out details.
Game Play Updates
[General]
Character pick limitation system Among all the changes we’ve made for this update, this is probably the biggest change that may affect everyone’s experience. This is a stepping stone for us to make the game more competitive and team-based. You may have to play a character for the team instead of character you feel like playing. Despite this inconvenience, we still wanted to give it a shot. Please give us feedback on this system, we’d like to hear if your over-all experience got better with this particular change.
You can pick your character after the match start. The character you’ve chosen in your inventory will be the default character in character selection screen.
If you and your teammate(s) have the same pick, characters will be given in random.
You can pick the character again at the beginning of each new round or when respawn.
[Bigboy]
Bigboy is finally up for everyone. Even though we introduced him a week ago to the CBT event participants, there has been a few changes based on the feedback we got from the community.
He’s a sub-dealer with powerful AOE skills that could be an immediate threat to enemies, especially in a big team fight. His primary weapon, M32 is good to deliver damage to enemies behind obstacles like map objects, Tactical Shield or Barricades. This helps the team have advantages over the opponents even before entering the main fight. For his ultimate, he uses Multi-Rocket Launcher to clear up the zone. For his own survivability in close distance, he has the Space Nail Gun to defend himself. The Space Nail Gun has low damage compared to others’ but very fast fire rate. He could also try to escape from the situation by drinking his favorite Soda that heals himself and boost up his speed a little while. Overall, even though his play mechanic is pretty straightforward & simple, but he’s never meant to be a character for beginners. Only experienced player in a well-planned team can get the most out of what he is capable of.
M32 Bigboy Original : Grenade Launcher customized by Bigboy - Aim design has been changed. - Explosion range decreased from 3m to 2.5m - Maximum Explosion range decreased from 4.5m to 4m - Firerate increased by 28% - Grenade velocity increased by 28% - Reloading time reduced by 1.2 seconds
Space Nail Gun : It shoots nails fast. Most efficient in close combat. - maximum bullets per clip increased from 20 to 30.
Healing Soda : It heals himself and boosts up his speed a little while.
Portable Multi-Rocket Launcher: Shoot multiple rockets to deny a zone. - Firerate increased by 12%
Self-healing(Passive): If you maintain non-combat status for 5 seconds, your HP recovers itself by 5 for every 5 seconds. - Ruthless Attack(Passive): Portable Multi Rocket Launcher cool-time reset(reduce in respawn-based mode) when killing an enemy.
[Phoenix] M870 is one of the most powerful weapons in close combat. Yet it was pretty difficult to hit an enemy because its spread was too small as a shotgun. So M870’s specification got adjusted like the followings :
M870 - No-zoom aim size increased by 27%. This means that the maximum spread range for the no-zoom shot is increased. - The spread for no-zoom shot increased by 34%, meaning you can hit an enemy easier than before but likely with less damage. - Aim size increase after a no-zoom shot reduced by 30%. This means that overall accuracy for continuous shooting increased. - Zoomed aim-size decreased by 30%. This means that the maximum spread range for zoom shot is decreased. Expect better accuracy. - The spread for 8 consecutive zoom shots decreased by 30%. - The aim size while sprinting decreased by 50%. - The aim size when jumping decreased by 20%. - The aim size while moving decreased by 70%.
[Rumble Jack] Even though he’s an all-around player, some of his abilities are not as practically effective as it should be. So we are making changes on him to encourage
M14-EBR - When zoomed-in. auto-shooting spread now decreased by 40% bounced.
Explosive Expert(Passive) - Claymore and Sticky Grenade damage stacks up by 5 for every kill or assist Rumble Jack makes. It resets when respawn. Maximum damage stack is 40.
[Natasha] Natasha, Natasha. She’s been such a controversial character within the community. Should she be the strongest damage dealer because she’s a sniper? Probably. But should she be able to kill any character with one-shot? Not so sure but maybe, only if the player’s skill is really, I mean really good. That’s the notion we’ve been sticking to. However, it has not been very successful to make a working differentiator that can distinguish super good players from somewhat good players even after a couple of adjustments. That said, it has become a good timing to introduce new her new passive skill we’ve been experimenting, ‘Patient Shot’. Hopefully, this could make more skilled, strategical sniper players stand out from the rest.
TPG1 - Damage decreased from 130 to 80 - Damage bonus on chest decreased from 1.5x to 1.0x
Patient Shot(Passive) - If you keep zooming-in, your TPG1 damage will increase up to 100 in 1.5 seconds. It resets when un-zoom.
- Ruthless Attack(Passive): UAV Scan cool-time reset(reduce in respawn-based mode) when killing an enemy.
[Cindy]
Utility Heal Rifle - Its right-click heal immediately takes effect when colliding with an ally character now. It passed through before.
[‘Fortress’ added on Demolition Mode] Fortress is simple and straightforward but larger. That said, it’s easy to learn the map but it will be challenging to track down the enemies. So, it’s probably a good strategy to make your team’s move based on the intelligence of enemy’s whereabouts. You will want Natasha to be more talkative than ever before.
[Domination Mode] Rules of the modes are as much impactful as characters. The current rule for Domination has been a little weak to trigger more neck and neck games. Therefore, two rules are changed.
Protection after Respawn It’d be basically better when we have enough match-making pool, but for now, it is somewhat inevitable to meet some cases that one team is too much stronger than the other and they walk all over even to the opponent’s base. To make this less likely to happen, players are going to be invincible for 7 seconds. It was 4.5 seconds before.
Fever time Now team points could be gained differently depending on how much time has passed.
1 sec – 4 min 59 sec : 2 points/sec
5 min – 7 min 59 sec : 4 points/sec
8 min – 12 min : 6 points/sec
System/UI changes
User Report System for cheating Now we have better UI for this.
You found a cheater or a suspect.
Type ESC and click 'Report'
Then you will see drop-down menus to choose a suspect and a reason for the report.
Done. Dev will look into those users according to its frequency. The more reports on a specific user, the higher chance of him/her gets kicked out.
Auto start of the match In the waiting room, the match countdown will automatically start in 10 seconds if the room master doesn’t start even if the match-start condition is met. It was 5 seconds before.
Server Browser Now it looks more like button type so new users can find it easier.
Translation changes We have changed English translation. Please let us know in Discord if you find and wrong translation. http://discord.gg/battlecarnival

In this update, we pre-release our 8th character, Bigboy exclusively to the CBT event participants. Upon many requests from the community, we also add one more map in domination mod, the Nuke. And a couple of urgent bug fixes. I will quickly walk you through those.
Bigboy is a sub-dealer with powerful AOE skills that could be an immediate threat to enemies, especially in a big team fight. His primary weapon, M32 is good to deliver damage to enemies behind obstacles like map objects, Tactical Shield or Barricades. This helps the team have advantages over the opponents even before entering the main fight. For his ultimate, he uses Multi-Rocket Launcher to clear up the zone.

He could also try to escape from the situation by drinking his favorite Soda that heals himself and boost up his speed a little while.
Overall, even though his play mechanic is pretty straightforward & simple, but he’s never meant to be a character for beginners. Only experienced players in the well-planned team can get the most out of what he is capable of.
- M32 Bigboy Original : Grenade Launcher customized by Bigboy
- Space Nail Gun : It shoots nails fast. Most efficient in close combat.
- Healing Soda : It heals himself and boosts up his speed a little while.
- Portable Multi Rocket Launcher: Shoot multiple rockets to deny a zone. (There is going to be an art resource changes for this weapon next week)
- Ruthless Attack(Passive): Portable Multi Rocket Launcher cool-time reset(reduce in respawn-based mode) when killing an enemy.
[‘Nuke’ added on Domination Mode]
The capture point of the Nuke has two entrances and is widely open to everywhere. It is especially vulnerable to the enemy attacks from the 2nd floor. So, juggling between the objective and clearing up zone in the 2nd floor could be a key point of decision making of the team.
[Bug fixes]
- Flash Bang effects remain even after respawn - Enemy Nano Particle Generator is sometimes invisible
[Sneak-Peak of the next update]
- Bigboy is going to be released to everyone. - As a step toward competitive gaming environment, we will have the character pick limitation system next week. After getting feedback about the system from the community for a week or two, we’ll apply the system to the Rank Game as well. - A new map will be added in the Demolition mode. - The update is scheduled on May 16.
Thank you very much for your continued support and please do not forget to review Battle Carnival with summarized pros and cons. It will help us a lot to find out what to improve first. You can leave a review here.
