Development continues
As for the news of Lucky Hammers’ closure, we were of course deeply saddened and hope their employees will bounce back soon. While this did come up as an unexpected issue, development never halted and we have now made arrangements to ensure full continuity on current and future titles, including Terraforming Mars and Mansions of Madness.
The update 1.515 has been released, adding nine bugfixes and two other changes.
Bugfixes

Miscellaneous changes
- The amount of game seeds involved in the creation of game sessions has been increased from 999 to 2,147,483,647. - The in-game credits now list the names of the users who actively participated in the previous beta tests.

What's next?
This beta test is limited in its duration. If no serious offenders are reported, the content of the beta will be pushed to the live branch.
The first major update for Terraforming Mars is now officially available! Read below to discover the new content and the bugfixes.
Content: 1] Draft Variant 2] Game State 3] Awards & Milestones Competitors 4] Access to Tutorials 5] Fixed bugs and known bugs
1] Draft Variant
After the Solo Challenge and the Corporate Era, the third official variant is now implemented and available as an option for local and online games. It allows players to affect which cards other players get access to, and increases your ability to pursue a certain strategy, or predict which parameter will rise first. During the Research phase each player drafts four cards to buy from instead of just drawing four to buy from. Each player first gets four cards and chooses one to draft and put aside. Each player then passes the three other cards to the following player. You now set aside one of them and pass the rest to the left. You repeat this until all cards drawn have been drafted. You now examine the four cards you’ve set aside (drafted) and choose which to buy (3 M€ each) and which to discard. Drafting is not used during the first generation since the first Research phase is skipped. The Draft Variant adds some extra game time and isn't recommended for players new to Terraforming Mars.
2] Game State
This new feature, available at any step of the game, allows you to pause your current action and check the information you need before making your decision. For instance, you're at the end of the Research phase and need to select which cards to buy. Simply press the button View game state to switch to the main screen, view the surface of Mars and open any window you need (your Tags for instance).
3] Awards & Milestones Competitors
A mouseover on any Award or Milestone will display the compared performance of all players.
4] Access to Tutorials
The Tutorials are now available in the Main Menu instead of the Options menu.
5] Fixed bugs and known bugs
All blocker bugs and a large number of rule-breaking issues have been addressed. We will continue ironing out the game and monitoring the forum for your reports in the next months. We'd like to thank our beta-testers who have provided valuable feedback over the winter. They'll be listed in the game's Credits in the next patches. The fixes included in this build include: AI freezes, online desynch, awards calculation, blue cards exploits, negative productions, corporation-specific issues, and card-specific issue such as Search For Life (005), Capital City (008), Noctis City (017), Phobos Space Haven (021), Arctic Algae (023), Predators (024), Optimal Aerobraking (031), Nitrogen-Rich Asteroid (037), Virus (050), Land Claim (066), Advanced Alloys (071), Mars University (073), Viral Enhancers (074), Ganymede Colony (081), Robotic Workforce (086), Research (090), Extreme-Cold Fungus (134), Herbivores (147), Pets (172), Livestock (184), Rad-Suits (186).
Some issues are still present. We're going to fix the following issues in the next patches: - The action of Search for Life (005) reveals the card only to the player using it. - User playing as Helion is unable to use Heat to buy cards with certain actions. - Helion can fall into negative megacredits when attempting to buy Standard Projects using Heat with no MC. - The player tray can remain focused on the opponent if they gain resources during the user's turn. - In very rare cases, two winners are wrongly declared at the end of a game despite different final scores.
The beta branch has been updated with the build 1.482, fixing an issue with a missing plant resource (one instead of two) on the 5th tile of the 4th row of the board.
If no other serious offenders are reported, the content of the beta (bugfixes, Draft Mode, Game State, Awards & Milestones Competitors) will be pushed to the live branch.
The beta branch has been updated with the build 1.473, fixing a major offender and three rule-breaking issues.
Bugfixes
Users in an online draft mode game were likely to encounter desynchronizations as their game session progressed.
Advanced Alloys’ (071) effect was not counted toward the cost of Aquifer Pumping’s (187) action if the player was unable to pay for it without Advanced Alloys’ effect. Also applied to Water Import From Europa (012).
Rad-Suits (186) did not count the Capital tile as a city tile.
Pets' (172) resources were not always registered by every player in online games when 2 cities were put in the same turn, affecting the result of the game.
The beta branch has been updated with the build 1.460, fixing a large number of known issues and providing a new beta environment which should improve the stability of your online games. We strongly recommend updating to this version to make sure you can play with the other beta testers.
Bugfixes
Awards for second place were not always given to the right player in matches with 3 or more participants.
Titanium and Heat couldn't always be fully reduced when the necessary Megacredits is unavailable to play a card.
An exploit allowed the use of the same action twice in a generation by one player.
The flow of the game could break when confirming an action after passing turn with the Enter hotkey.
A user in an online game could be desynchronized by leaving and re-entering the match at roughly the same time it became that player's turn.
When leaving and resuming a game, there was a chance that a card played previously would show again in a player's hand which would result in a progression blocker if played.
The flow of an online draft game could block when a bot replaced a user following a forfeit or a time-out.
Phobos Space Haven (021) and Ganymede Colony (081) could be placed on top of each other.
Optimal Aerobraking (031) granted Megacredits and Heat for each space or event tag played instead of only the combination of both.
Virus (050) could not be used to take away a single animal resource from a card.
Robotic Workforce (086) did not copy the negative production of Biomass Combustors (183) and Heat Trappers (178).
Cards discarded using the Mars University (073) effect did not go to the discard pile.
The effect of Herbivores (147) was not triggered correctly during the plant conversion phase.
Please let us know in the Draft Update beta build 1.460 feedback thread if you experience any game-breaking or rule-breaking issues. Please be sure that when you report an issue that you communicate it in as clear and concise a manner as possible to ensure that our developers have the best chances of finding and resolving it.
If no other serious offenders are reported, the content of the beta (bugfixes, Draft Mode, Game State, Awards & Milestones Competitors) will be pushed to the live branch.
