Thank you so much for waiting, everyone! I hope you’re all as excited to play Fallen as we’re about releasing it. The enthusiasm and passion that we saw from everyone since we first announced the game reached our hearts. And now here we are!
Kagura Games was always a dream and a passion project for me. I never thought it’d be a reality. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for ages. But with some unforeseen circumstances, thousands of hours, and a lot of luck, my dream has finally become a reality.
Another Story created such a wonderful game with its rich world and immersive characters. I’ve played several hundreds of these games before, but none grabbed me quite like this one. I knew right away that this game was different. So I’ll always be grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to bring his game to the Western and Chinese communities. He’s an incredible game maker, artist, and an even better person. Without him, none of this happens.
In regards to the future, I don’t know what’s going to happen. It’ll all depend on how this performs. But this is something I’d like to keep doing forever. I hope I can continue bringing everyone these great games!
Please enjoy Fallen ~Makina and the City of Ruins~!

If you’re looking for a game similar to Fallen, check out Meltys Quest by developers Sachinama (Happy Life) and Remtairy! It was one of my favorite games from last year and is also available on Steam!

My name is Another Story. I’m an artist and game developer from Japan.
Do you like beautiful women with red hair? Do you like strong women who are skilled with the sword, able to tear down monsters one after the other? Do you like women that have a gentle side as well? I love all of these things! In “Fallen ~Makina and the City of Ruins~,” I created the titular character, Makina, as someone with all of these qualities. As the heroine of the game, she tries to uncover the conspiracy of Gardona while meeting new comrades along the way. As the player, you should try to help her resist lust and temptation. But it’s okay if you decide not to. XD
I am excited to be able to deliver the game to the entire world right now. For a long time, I was a fan of Steam. Someday, I thought, it would be great if I could release a game on Steam. But because I couldn’t speak English, it was very difficult for me to do that.
However, one day, I received an email, and everything changed. The email was from Rakushun of Kagura Games. He showed a deep understanding and passion for Japanese doujin games. But it was his love for Fallen and the characters that I created that made me accept his offer to translate the game and bring it to Steam. Since then, I’ve been working really hard, so that the two of us can deliver the game to you! For a long time, there was a huge void barring Japan’s doujin games from getting to Steam. However, Rakushun was able to bridge that gap. His enthusiasm and effort made all of this happen.
I hope that the Steam community will support Fallen! This way, more Japanese games can be translated and brought to Steam through Kagura Games.
Please play the game when it’s released on February 23rd. And send your thoughts! We’re looking forward to hearing them.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much!

It's been a little over a week since we first announced Fallen. Again, the reception we've been getting from fans excited to play the game has been unbelievable. I received an email the other day from a fan who was so grateful that we were doing this. He totally made my day. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you guys. Today, I'd like to show everyone the World of Fallen.
Fallen takes place on the continent of Freija. While we initially didn't build any world maps for the game, we thought it was important for the players to become immersed in the world that Makina is a part of. Thus, Freija was born. Freija is a very mountainous and forested region. Due to the discovery of The Ruins, many travelers, adventurers, and merchants have started traveling from all over the world to the continent in hopes of striking it rich.
Gardona has become the main hub for trade and migration on the continent due to its proximity to The Ruins. While it's a city rumored to have unlimited opportunity, Makina and other travelers might find that it's not everything it's cracked up to be. People are disappearing. Money seems to only flow to the very top, and adventurers exploring the ruins are returning having been afflicted with curses. It'll be up to Makina to figure out what could be causing these strange occurrences.
Gardona will be where the events of Fallen take place. However, if Fallen ends up being really successful, Another Story has hinted about doing a sequel. And if that becomes so, be prepared to explore the rest of Freija along with Makina and her friends for many years to come.

Thank you so much for the overwhelmingly positive reception the game has received. I'm really overjoyed. I don't think I've ever been this excited in my entire life. All the positive feedback and suggestions have been really encouraging. I'd like to talk more about how this project started and my friendship with Another Story.
I've always been a huge fan of these types of games. I think that's how most developers start out; they start out as fans. I started out as a fan lurking the Hongfire forums under the alias, "chiakisan." At the time, I really loved the games by Alicesoft and they had just released their WW2 parody VN, "Daiteikoku." It was then that I started a translation group in an attempt to fan translate that game. Unfortunately, that project fell through. But my passion remained.
For the remaining years leading up to late 2017, I ended up pursuing other things, but there was always an emptiness inside me. A void that couldn't be filled by practical means. And as I continued to play many of the translated games that were coming out on Steam, that void grew bigger and bigger. I couldn't take it anymore. The standards should be higher. The business practices should be better. If no one else is going to do it, then I'm going to do it myself. So I eventually gathered up the courage to contact Another Story, the Japanese developer of Fallen.
If you've ever studied Japanese for any period of time, or have been involved in the anime and/or manga communities, there's a stereotype that Japanese developers hate foreigners. This was totally on my mind while contacting Another Story. There was a lot of anxiety because of that. I was absolutely terrified that he was going to reject me... however, in this specific case, it was completely unfounded. Another Story couldn't have been more gracious. I don't know what he saw in me, I don't know if he saw anything at all, but he immediately put his trust in me and bought into my vision. He has helped me every step of the way through this process. Every day since November of last year, we've corresponded and spoken to each other. I now consider him one of my best friends. And I plan to travel to Tokyo to visit him in June.
Anyway, a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into this project. There were several times when I wasn't sure if this was going to work; if we would receive the amount of support we would need to continue to keep going. After Fallen, I plan to keep licensing more games and releasing them with high quality translations; however, I can't do it without your help. So if you would join us on this journey to help increase the translation standards and business practices in this industry, we would greatly appreciate it. We promise we won't let you down.
