"If you can place two words on paper, or have a penchant for writing, then tell us your tales about your encounters while on the roads of Gloomhaven. Tell us your story and we will add three of Gloomhaven's favorites to our history, forever!" You raise an eyebrow, keen to know of the fame that comes with your name and writings forever being a part of this world you have lived in. You grab a parchment, and begin telling your most vibrant stories!
Hello Mercenaries!
As you heard above, we are looking for anyone capable of writing to enter a Road Event Writing Contest we will be running from February 11 to 18. Ready your keyboard, pens or whatever writing tool you prefer, because the top 3 entries will be integrated into Gloomhaven!
The community will vote on their top 10 favorites from February 18 - 23. The top 10 entries will receive a free copy of Gloomhaven
The top three road events from the above 10 will be chosen by Asmodee Digital and Flaming Fowl Studios. These three will be integrated into the game in a later patch!
Whenever the player is faced with a decision in a road event, there must be between 2 to 4 choices made available
Each description for a phase of the road event’s story will be a maximum of 250 words
Each choice cannot be more than 30 words long
Your Road Event must be themed within the world of Gloomhaven
Any writings, rewards or creations can be modified by the organizing company to better fit the world and ensure game balance and enjoyment
So, if you've ever wanted to go down in the annals of Gloomhaven, then be sure to get writing!
We're happy to announce that the goal of 250,000 kills has been achieved within the allotted time, you have actually managed to kill more than 265,000 monsters in the dungeons of Gloomhaven!
That's a lot of monsters, but who killed the most? Cragheart, Mindthief, Spellweaver, Brute or Tinkerer? Below you can see which mercenary achieved the most kills to know not only which skin will be released in the upcoming patch, but also the order the skins will be released for the future Community Challenges!
As Brute has the most kills, their skin will be unlocked soon in an upcoming patch release. But because we know you want to see exactly what that skin looks like, let's show off this awesome picture!

Starting now, we are officially launching the Gloomhaven’s Community Challenges!
Throughout the year, you’ll have to work as a team and face challenges as a community in order to unlock exclusive skins for each of the mercenaries available right now. Each challenge will ask you to push your limits and work as a global squad of fearless mercenaries during a limited time to reach a common objective. When the challenge is complete, the skin will be available for every player to choose in-game.
Look at the Nightcrawler skin for Scoundrel - already available in Gloomhaven’s Early Access.
The very first challenge will take place from January 23 to February 06. Dear warriors, here is your first community challenge: Reach 250 000 enemy kills. The class with the highest kills during the challenge duration will be released in an upcoming update. This will also determine the order in which skins will be released for the future community challenges! Do note that the Scoundrel already has her skin unlocked for all, and as such is not a part of this event.
We’re not sure if love can survive on those dungeons, but this will be our Valentine gift to you… ever so slightly in advance.
As we wish those skins to be a surprise to every player, we’ll only let you have a quick look at them…

We’re very pleased to announce the release of a new major update for Gloomhaven! You can now roam the gloomy forests of Gloomhaven, but do not expect to find any rest, as fearsome enemies roam this terrifying environment.
Brace yourself to meet new guards and archers, from the race of the Inoxs and Vermlings. Do not underestimate the forest Imps and the mysterious powers of shamans. And stay sharp, for hounds lurk among the vegetation... For the bravest of you, a new monstrous boss is awaiting, beware!

With this update, you will also discover an all new music track and six new cards for your characters. We also improved the GUI with an undo step to the Ability Infuse items, an info bar which displays the XP earned and more!

This week was a real milestone in Gloomhaven Digital's adventure: we released the first major update including:
a fifth mercenary, Tinkerer, including all of his level 1, and 3 of his X cards, as well as 10 cards to unlock while leveling up
the highly requested tutorial
a slew of features and content following community feedback including, the removal Durability from the game, the implementation of X cards for the all the current mercenaries, etc.
But it is just the beginning, and many milestones will appear throuhout the Early Access of Gloomhaven: due to the overall complexity of the rules, UI/UX and general design of Gloomhaven, we are relying on your engagement and feedback to ensure we develop a great video game based on an incredible board game.
As you can see, the roadmap has evolved since we are planning on changing our development priorities based on the communities feedback and responses. This does however indicate our general plan of action in which we will be rolling out all of the content of the board game and more over the course of Early Access, with the release of the full campaign and multiplayer alongside the full launch. But we can assure you that we are eager to test the full campaign AND multiplayer on steam… but good things come to those who wait.
Our next major content update is planned for Q4 with Mindthief, new environments, new enemies, bosses, more cards for released characters, new items, perks & enhancements. But fear not, as we will be radually be rollin out more new content and features between these major updates as well.

The Tinkerer
Gloomhaven's fifth mercenary is now available, including all of his level 1, and 3 of his X cards, as well as 10 cards to unlock while leveling up. Featuring a distinctive gameplay as a support-orientated mercenary, the Tinkerer provides new options and synergies when combined with the rest of the roster.
Tinkerers are a fairly common class of Quatryls, with an innate affinity to engineering and machinery, the Tinkerer is an expert in crafting all manner of gadgets and elixirs. His buffs and debuffs, combined with strong mobility and decent damage makes it a valuable addition to many rosters.

The Tutorial
A highly requested feature that we are pleased to now have available for any struggling or new adventurer arriving at the Sleeping Lion. To help more players to enjoy the digital Gloomhaven experience, this tutorial covers all the combat basics for new players. Turn structure, movement, card abilities, damage, target priority and more: the tutorial aims to help new players better understand the strategic depth, and its opportunities.
Be sure to try it out from the main menu if you or someone you know is wanting to improve their abilities as a mercenary in Gloomhaven.
My items and I are...UNBREAKABLE!
Due to the enormous amount of feedback that we have received since launching the Early access, we have made the decision to remove Durability from the game. This will allow players to better build their characters the way they want, and experiment with a wider selections of items and combos.
In the same vein, we have also changed the way failures work—when you lose a dungeon now, while you will still be sent back to the last town you visited, you will keep any gold, experience and items earned during your failed journey. This is to improve the experience and ensure that there is a constant feeling of progression during your adventures.
A Slew of Features and Content

We've done a massive overhaul to the party selection and save files UI to improve everyone's experience with organizing their adventures and creating their group of mercenaries.
The Battle Log is now implemented and available in your adventures so you can review all actions taken so far.
All remaining X cards for the all the current mercenaries of Gloomhaven have been implemented.
Several new items have been implemented for use in your adventures!
Your travels between dungeons and towns will be all the more exciting now, with over 30 new road events now available.
