a slew of features and content following community feedback including, the removal Durability from the game, the implementation of X cards for the all the current mercenaries, etc.
But it is just the beginning, and many milestones will appear throuhout the Early Access of Gloomhaven: due to the overall complexity of the rules, UI/UX and general design of Gloomhaven, we are relying on your engagement and feedback to ensure we develop a great video game based on an incredible board game.
As you can see, the roadmap has evolved since we are planning on changing our development priorities based on the communities feedback and responses. This does however indicate our general plan of action in which we will be rolling out all of the content of the board game and more over the course of Early Access, with the release of the full campaign and multiplayer alongside the full launch. But we can assure you that we are eager to test the full campaign AND multiplayer on steam… but good things come to those who wait.
Our next major content update is planned for Q4 with Mindthief, new environments, new enemies, bosses, more cards for released characters, new items, perks & enhancements. But fear not, as we will be radually be rollin out more new content and features between these major updates as well.

An all new patch for Gloomhaven has now arrived. This is our first of many major content updates that we will be delivering over the course of the Early Access phase of the game's development. With this major release we have a slew of new features and content that have been requested by YOU and so much more.
Don't forget that with this update we have also launched our Publisher Weekend sale, which includes Gloomhaven at 10% off. If you or a friend have been considering getting Gloomhaven, with the release of the tutorial and a sale on top, now is the best time to do it!
The Tinkerer
Gloomhaven's fifth mercenary is now available, including all of his level 1, and 3 of his X cards, as well as 10 cards to unlock while leveling up. Featuring a distinctive gameplay as a support-orientated mercenary, the Tinkerer provides new options and synergies when combined with the rest of the roster.
Tinkerers are a fairly common class of Quatryls, with an innate affinity to engineering and machinery, the Tinkerer is an expert in crafting all manner of gadgets and elixirs. His buffs and debuffs, combined with strong mobility and decent damage makes it a valuable addition to many rosters.
See the Tinkerer in action in our all new trailer:
The Tutorial
A highly requested feature that we are pleased to now have available for any struggling or new adventurer arriving at the Sleeping Lion. To help more players to enjoy the digital Gloomhaven experience, this tutorial covers all the combat basics for new players. Turn structure, movement, card abilities, damage, target priority and more: the tutorial aims to help new players better understand the strategic depth, and its opportunities.
Be sure to try it out from the main menu if you or someone you know is wanting to improve their abilities as a mercenary in Gloomhaven.
My items and I are...UNBREAKABLE!
Due to the enormous amount of feedback that we have received since launching the Early access, we have made the decision to remove Durability from the game. This will allow players to better build their characters the way they want, and experiment with a wider selections of items and combos.
In the same vein, we have also changed the way failures work—when you lose a dungeon now, while you will still be sent back to the last town you visited, you will keep any gold, experience and items earned during your failed journey. This is to improve the experience and ensure that there is a constant feeling of progression during your adventures.
A Slew of Features and Content
There is even more for you to enjoy in this patch in addition to everything that was mentioned above:
We've done a massive overhaul to the party selection and save files UI to improve everyone's experience with organizing their adventures and creating their group of mercenaries.

We're incredibly excited knowing that this message will reach so many more of you, seeing as how the Early Access launch weekend has been full of new arrivals. Thousands of new mercenaries have come here to join this challenging quest and venture into feared lands of Gloomhaven. There simply aren't any words to describe how thankful we are for all of the support, feedback, and love you've given us in the last couple of days.
And, it seems you haven't been idle either. During this weekend alone you've started over 170,000 scenarios and killed more than 1,300,000 hostile beasts and enemies. However, don't forget to visit the inn and have a drink to the memory of those who have fallen. Gloomhaven's lands are famously dangerous and about 35.6% of all the expeditions failed.
But there's no time to despair! There are still hundreds of thousands of adventures waiting for us in the future!
The news of your valiant efforts has also been spread by various gaming outlets such as PC Gamer, Rock Paper Shotgun, comicbook, and many more. Additionally, numerous videos were made by popular YouTubers and Streamers, some of which you might find extremely useful if you're still taking your first steps into the harsh world of Gloomhaven. For those of you in need of a little guidance, we've selected a couple of videos:
The first one is from quill18, (a great fan of the original, award-winning board game) who took some time to explore and explain the game:
There's much more out there, so go forth and explore all the wonderful Gloomhaven content around the internet. And, of course, create your own and share it with us!
Once again, thank you for all your support, and may the coin be plentiful for you!

Gloomhaven has now launched to Steam on PC for 24.99 USD/EUR. Enter the Early Access now and begin adventuring through the dungeons of Gloomhaven, facing off against a variety of deadly foes across a range of dungeons and encountering powerful bosses!
Your journey to the darkened lands of Gloomhaven is complete and your adventures to prove your power have begun. You've settled in the Wayward Inn with your party to rest after your long and difficult travels. While drinking an ale you overhear snippets of conversation between two town militia...A Bandit Commander has come into possession of a number of heretical texts and has begun researching necromancy. Magic generally comes hand in hand with gold and riches, so you have asked around and discovered the location of the bandit's hideout.
You begin your journey and decide that you are not quite ready to confront the Bandit Commander yet. You leave Wayward and decide on raiding some local crypts in search of knowledge and better equipment. It's time to choose your path and begin your adventure! Will you become a mercenary reknown beyond measure, that thinks tactically and plans out their adventure carefully, surviving to the end... or will you be rash and laid to rest by your foes in the depths of the crypts and dungeons of Gloomhaven?
The Start of Gloomhaven's Early Access will include 4 playable characters, 9 enemy classes—with both standard and elite variants—and 3 bosses to take on, all through our digital exclusive roguelike Adventure mode. The Adventure Mode will have you explore an entirely new map created with the assistance of Isaac Childres, completing dungeons, visiting towns and eventually, fighting epic bosses.
If you want to learn more about our plans for the Early Access and the deployment of content, then we have prepared a handy roadmap of development that you can find below. This is intentionally vague because we are planning on changing our development priorities based on community feedback and response. This does however indicate our general plan of action in which we will be rolling out all of the content of the board game and more over the course of Early Access, with the release of the full campaign and multiplayer alongside the full launch.
If you purchase the Early Access, you will also be granted the Nightcrawler Scoundrel as well as several other skins for the mercenaries available at the start of the Early Access that will be unlockable through challenges we will be announcing at a later date. So stay tuned to learn more about those skins and challenges, but you can check out the awesome Nightcrawler Scoundrel below.
If you are prepared to conquer your fears and overcome the many dangers that abound in Gloomhaven, then dive right in and play now! Remember though, Gloomhaven is not for the faint of heart. You will face challenges beyond measure, and a level of difficulty you are not quite used to. In light of this, we have prepared a few tools for you to use while we are still constructing our complete tutorial for Gloomhaven.
To learn more about the game, it's intricacies and the many variety of features and mechanics, check out the Compendium in-game. This includes a complete encyclopedia of game information that should assist you with confronting any difficulty that you might face.
If you would prefer to have a brief rundown of the game, you can also check out our gameplay trailer that goes over a basic explanation of the features and gameplay of Gloomhaven, this is a perfect introduction, but will not explain deeper and more intricate details of the game.
If after going through all of this and consuming that much content about Gloomhaven, you would still like to learn more to optimise your gameplay and become an even mightier sellsword out for a profit, then feel free to check out some guides about Gloomhaven the Board Game. As the gameplay and mechanics from the board game are reflected in the digital version, the massive amount of content available about how to best play from that community will also be able to aid you in your adventures!
May the loot flow from your enemies and your experience gain always be high! Good luck mercenaries!
