A new beginning beckons for the Smallfolk! Weโre proud to announce that Smalland: Survive the Wilds will leave Early Access and hit v1.0 on 7th December 2023.
Does this mean weโve released all the content updates?
Not at all. Our third major content update arrives very soon โ keep watching for details of that in the next few weeks. As with previous updates, this will add a completely new area to the map, new creatures to battle and tame, more story and NPCs, extra armour, weapons, tools and resources, plus lots of QoL improvements and core system upgrades.
Another content update of comparable size will coincide with the 1.0 launch. This will bring the initial Smalland: Survive the Wilds story to a close, and form the complete base game that new players will experience as a single seamless experience from 1.0 onwards.
Is there anything to come after 1.0?
Yes! Weโre also committed to a calendar of updates post-launch, continuing to expand the game with even more new content and improvements to systems and functionality. Details of this post-release roadmap will follow the 1.0 launch.
And what aboutโฆ?
Consoles? Glad you asked. Alongside Smalland: Survive the Wildโs PC 1.0 release, weโre excited to reveal that the game will also launch digitally on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on the same day โ 7th December. Both PlayStation and Xbox versions will have the same content as PC at launch. A physical retail release of the console version will follow on 8th December. Cross platform is something we are looking into!
Weโre very aware that often the arrival of 1.0 signals the end for an Early Access game, but we really want you โ our dedicated earliest players โ that for Smalland: Survive the Wilds it really is just the beginning. There are many more stories to tell with the Smallfolk and weโre thrilled youโve been with us on this journey from the start.

Building hammers at the ready, Smallfolk! Today marks the launch the Great Big Smalland Building Contest, as we challenge the community to construct the most ambitious and inventive Great Tree bases possible.
The winner will receive an ASUS TUF A17 Full HD 144Hz gaming laptop, with 17.3โ screen and NVIDIA RTX 4070 graphics card. Perfect for taking your adventures on the move!
You have until 6pm BST on Monday 18th September to gather your supplies, plan your build and complete construction.
Entries should be posted in the special contest channel on the Smalland: Survive the Wilds Discord. Submissions must be in the form of a single Discord post containing either:
A video showing the completed build in as much detail as possible.
Orโฆ
At least five screenshots of the completed build.
The better you document the build the higher your chance of winning. Show off your hard work!
Entries will be judged based on three criteria:
Ambition: how bold is the design, and how inventively does it use the building system?
Aesthetics: does the build have the visual โwowโ factor to make us stop and stare?
Practicality: how useful is the build to an adventurous Smallfolk? Is it a workable base or just for show?
After closing, the Smalland: Survive the Wilds team will draw up a shortlist of worthy entries and then put the final decision to a community vote.

Added a giant strawberry jam building part that can be used to prevent fall damage - great when used with the catapult. Also slows enemies! Made using strawberries and insect fat, yum!
Added a deep tunnel with a unique, high level tame variant
Expanded the sewers, also with a high level unique tame variant at the end
On-Screen keyboard for gamepad users - Big Picture Mode
Added one third high pillars for all building tiers
Pillars can now be rotated
Stability allotment has been increased, this was in a previous patch, however we are making note of it now.
Various Fixes
Added rugs which are available at the merchant and a small desk cosmetic building part which is available automatically
In the last patch, changes were made to the building parts to allow them to slightly interesect with other parts, but as a result it made it so people couldn't correctly place things correctly, notably chairs, we have fied this.
Fixed a bug thanks once again to the Smalland discord and MantaFanta, for finding a bug with grapple + airdash that allowed players to infinitely reach height rapidly
