In addition to kissing while standing and sitting on the ground, now it's also possible to kiss while sitting on benches.

When your girlfriend is in a mood for a kiss, sit on any bench and wait until she moves closer to you. After that, press action button to start the pocky/kissing mini-game. If you date a pillow, sit on a bench with pillow in hands to start the mini-game.

The pocky/kissing game has a new selection menu. Now you don't have to place a pack of pocky in hands to play the pocky game. Instead, when you use action button on your girlfriend, there will be a new menu to choose between pocky game (if you have pocky in your inventory) and direct kiss (unlocked after level 50 for girl, and available at any level for pillow).

Pillow doesn't have an option for pocky game, only for direct kiss.

• Fixed several minor weight painting issues for shirts and dresses, clipping issue for tall boots (when used with tights). Old boots will be unusable after this update, so if you had them in inventory, put them into recycle bin, and buy new boots.
  
• Christmas decorations in all locations.
  
• One new hair style.
  
• In addition to squirrels, seashells and pine cones now can be exchanged for money at Shoujo Mart.

This is a very small technical update to remove temporary objects and decorations for two October events (Halloween and water gun mini-game).

Next major update will be a new Akihabara map, but due to complexity and size of the area it will take a few months as yet to prepare all required assets. That's why, until Akihabara map is ready for release, next few updates most probably will be relatively small additions.

Updates in this version:

• Water gun mini-game is moved to a new permanent place in the Summer Town map.
  
• New clothes: tall boots (fashion store), miko dress (Shinto shrine shop).
  
• Walking in shallow water now has a separate sound.
  
• The mechanic of increasing relationship score to unlock girlfriend's equipment slots is removed.

To start this event, use the pumpkin head icon in front of the school gates. There is not much else to say about it without spoiling all the walkthrough - so it's up to you to explore and find out how to complete it.

This is a very small update, and it’s released mostly to fix a water gun operation issue. In the previous version it was impossible to aim accurately if you attempted to shoot and run at the same time. Now aiming remains stable while standing, walking, and running.


The skills mechanic is redesigned. Now all skills are assigned to your character (in the past it was planned to assign them to girlfriend).

There is a new status window for your character, appearing if you click on the status button in the in-game smartphone, showing your current skills and achievements.

There are three skills and two stats in your status window (more skills will be added in future updates).

• cooking skill is increased every time you cook any 100% food.
  
• music skill is increased by completing piano challenges.
  
• sports skill is increased by playing hide-and-seek and the water gun VR game.

All skills can also go down if you fail the respective activities. Right now skills don’t have any effect – it’s mostly a preparation step towards the final version of the game, where you’ll have to work on specific skills to increase compatibility with your girlfriend.

Girlfriend’s status window is moved from toolbar panel to the in-game smartphone, too, since it’s used during gameplay only occasionally, and there is no need to show it on screen all the time.

• When you approach squirrels, now they will attempt to run away.
  
• ATMs in several locations (used only for decoration).
  
• Fixed a minor issue with hair color not updating correctly after changing hair type during character creation.
  
• Fixed a small issue with arm positions while using the rocking horse.

A special water gun VR mini-game will be available throughout October 2018.

Water gun shooting mini-game was one of most distinct features of ai sp@ce - the discontinued MMO that always was the main source of inspiration for Shoujo City. This year marks ten years since official launch of ai sp@ce (October 15, 2008), so I wanted to make some special in-game event to celebrate this date.

To start the mini-game, you'll have to buy a water gun, VR glasses and a ticket (sold in a stall near the convenience store). Two spots for the game are located on the school sports field and in the shrine. To fill your water gun with water you can use temizuya in the shrine, or one of hand washing basins in the school.

The goal of the game is to destroy all portals, while also eliminating cat soldiers spawning from them. After all portals are destroyed, you can collect prize boxes that will give you a random prize:

All background buildings in apartment, school, and Summer Town maps were redone with higher quality, better textures, and more detailed 3D models. New street signs and rooftop air conditioners.

This is the third part of graphics updates (previous ones: 0.8.3 - new main buildings, 0.8.5 - new plants) done to get rid of all low-quality assets from early development stages of the game and bring all models and textures to consistent style and quality level.

• Fixed a bug with incorrect placement of objects in hands that happened if you swapped some items in "hand" slot.
  
• New stacked bracelet can be bought in the clothes store.

The Ferris wheel is opened in the Summer Town map and can be used as a dating spot. Ride can be finished by either waiting for the wheel to make a full spin and walking out when doors open, or by clicking on “phone” button and ending it any time.

There is also a new takoyaki stall in the Summer Town. Takoyaki and several other grilled snacks now can be bought in this stall instead of taiyaki shop.

All these items can be bought in the clothes store.

Glasses are now equipped into amulet slot (top right) instead of hat slot. This allows to wear both glasses and hats/head accessories at the same time. If you had any glasses in your equipment, they will be unusable after this update. You should put old glasses into recycle bin and buy new ones.

Two Yandere Simulator t-shirts with character artwork were removed for now (they will be redone with better artwork later).

• Added several new background buildings in school, apartment, and Summer Town maps.
  
• When talking, your character now has mouth animation (in the past only NPCs and girlfriend had mouth animation).
  
• Camera rotation speed during the kissing mini-game is decreased.
  
• Small optimization improvements.

All trees and bushes in the school and apartment maps are replaced with new higher quality models. New plants: sakura trees, hazel trees, elderberry, dandelion.

Sakura trees come with interactive petals falling from trees and affected by collisions.

New plants added in the Shrine map (around lake): bulrush, lotus, dandelion, daisy. Fallen leaves under the sacred tree are replaced with leaves dynamically falling from the tree and affected by collisions.

• Fixed a small bug with menu booklet not disappearing from hands after closing it in the cafe.
  
• Fixed a small issue with hair declining angles on water slides.
  
• Fixed a small bug with gui action button not updating correctly after placing pillow on swimring.

A new ride is opened in the Summer Town map - Merry-Go-Round (carousel). Like all other rides, it can give you +3 relationship points.

This update is dedicated mostly to graphics improvements. Many low quality and blurry textures from early development stages of the game (mostly from "school" and "apartment" maps) are replaced with new high resolution textures.

Main school building, gym, all auxiliary school buildings, all shops across the school, cafe, and apartment building are recreated from a scratch with much better quality (both 3D models and textures).

Many other interior and exterior items were also completely redone with better quality, including: porches, stairs, pavements, school gates, kitchens, metro station, hand washing basins, air conditioners, various railings and poles, and numerous smaller items and decorations.
