Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden - Jens Erik (Community Manager)
Greetings mutants and stalkers!
Today we are incredibly excited to announce that Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is expanding with the addition of Stalker Trials, a challenge mode that will truly put your skills to the test. We’re re-populating the game’s maps with different types of enemies to create new challenges for you and your chosen team of stalkers.
We’ll be rolling out the Stalker Trials on PC in a free update next week, on February 26th, so mark your calendars and get ready to gear up! Consoles will get this update at a later date.
Sneak and fight to impress Pripp
The Stalker Trials give you access to all characters, with all mutations and skills unlocked, but you will have to buy and upgrade your weapons and armor before heading out. Once you’re satisfied with your loadout you can journey into the Zone and link up with Pripp, the bartender. He’s the brains behind the Stalker Trials, and will score you on your progress as you fight your way through an area. Your rewards will be new items and equipment that you can either use on a new map, or sett at Iridia’s shop.
Your progress will be noted down on the in-game leaderboards and the weekly and all-time top Stalker will have an NPC named after them for other players to take down. Pripp will also reward you with extra points if you clear a map in certain ways, for example by not taking damage or not using explosives.
Watch this space
It’s been a fantastic two months since the launch on Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden in December, 2018. We’ve been following your tweets, forum and Reddit posts, YouTube videos and Twitch streams and it’s been an absolute blast to see what you’ve thought about the game.
During the time since launch we’ve been working on fixing bugs and issues with the game. Several of those fixes will come out alongside the Stalker Trials, on February 26. We will also continue to roll out additional patches as needed.
Keep watching this space. We’ve got even more stuff coming down the line, but we’re not quite ready to talk about that just yet.

Personality goes a long way with games. Just an ounce of it can elevate a game from the crowd. And Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden has heaps of it.
This post-apocalyptic adventure is X-Com with a dash of stealth and exploration. It's based on a decades old tabletop game simply called Mutant which was itself rebooted into Mutant Year Zero a few years ago. It's very popular in Sweden, where the game's creators Bearded Ladies, hail from. While it provided the world Road to Eden would live in, this adaptation leans on one particularly potent characteristic of the tabletop game. One thing that just stands out immediately. The X-Com trappings are as solid a foundation as you can get but it's the world and the characters that held my attention. Because there's no getting round it, the first thing you're going to notice, the first thing everybody is gonna want to talk about with this game is the badass duck man.
We have been working very hard to fix as many issues as possible for this patch. However, we are still fighting with the pre-Ryzen AMD processor audio issues – this is what has delayed the release of 1.3.
We believe that we were able to improve this a great deal in the last patch and were hoping to remove all symptoms with the new patch. Unfortunately the issues are caused by something unrelated to the game itself. We will however continue to chip away at the issue as best we can.
As we want to make sure we get meaningful fixes out to as many of you as possible, we're pushing out the next patch to the main branch. If those of you with pre-Ryzen AMD processors still have issues, you can drop back to the ‘amd_test’ branch (password ‘HKS73903BBSnwee3D’) in the meantime. We will continue to work through reported issues and very soon we will move on to feedback/suggestions.
Thanks a lot for your patience and help! We love you guys! /Mark (TBLC)

Fix for cutscene and inventory freezes on certain Older AMD Processors.
Fix for crash on boot for certain save games.
'QA Has Suffered' Achievement should now unlock correctly.
Fix for user stuck in combat without enemies in the Castle of Light.
OTHER FIXES
Issues with heroes getting stuck in some covers.
Issue with being able to leave the map in the Metal Fields.
Fixed issues with mind control in Castle of Light.

Localized key binding text functional.

Destruction and geometry hiding fixes.
Inventory weapon models now update immediately after upgrading them in the ark.
We have a fix for most users affected by the pre-Ryzen AMD Inventory and Cutscene freezes. An interim patch was posted on Friday which seems to fix the issues for 95% of affected users. As this has been well received we shall also patch today for everybody on the 'Default' branch.
Expect a new patch on Wednesday with more fixes, details to be announced then.
We would suggest that those of you using the 'AMD_test' branch should return to the 'Default' branch when the Wednesday patch goes live.
We are sorry for any inconvenience and thank all you so much for your patience.

Thanks for the support so far and much ❤ You guys are really great, so many offers of help these last few days!
Unfortunately we aren't quite there yet with a fix for the freezes on older AMD Processors.
This issue is a root problem with the trifecta of the processor, engine and windows. We have fixed the issue with the game freezing during the cabin cut and the alt-tab issue and the game will no longer lock up completely in the inventory, however the audio stutter can manifest in the inventory.
So what we will do for the time being is give out this password for a beta branch we added *HKS73903BBSnwee3D*, at their own risk affected users can download this branch and play the game (saves and settings should all work). NOTE. Keep the volume sliders to Max.
We'd rather not put out a global patch until we are 100% happy with it otherwise we're forcing users to download a hefty patch to be followed by a second very soon.
We hope that will help at least some of you this weekend, a solid patch will be delivered early next week.
