We have an important update regarding the ongoing Playtest and the Anniversary Update release.
Due to the significant number of reported issues, we've decided to extend the testing period until March 28th at 5 p.m. CET and postpone the update launch to the same date. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the best possible experience for everyone.
Thank you for your ongoing support and participation in making our game better.
To participate, simply click the "Request Access" icon on the game page on the Steam store. Officers who participated in previous tests will receive access automatically.
We are particularly interested in testing the new "Sina" vehicle, sniper rifle, and companion system.
Bug Reporting Instructions:
Please attach your game saves, you will find them in C:/Users/[UserName]/AppData/LocalLow/CrazyRocks/ContrabandPolice
In case of crashes, please send your log files (".dmp" files from AppData/Local/Temp/CrazyRocks/ContrabandPolice/Crashes and files "Player.Log" and "Player-prev.log" from AppData/LocalLow/CrazyRocks/ContrabandPolice)
The greatest help for our team is to provide a short gameplay video (e.g. using obs, fraps) that shows the problem. It is good that such a recording starts some time before the error occurs. However, if you decide not to record - please send screenshots.
Your help and suggestions have always been very important to us. The current quality of the game is largely due to your merit! We are waiting for your valuable comments and any bugs you find.

It has been an extraordinary year full of emotions, challenges, and surprises. Thank you for still being with us on this amazing adventure. May this anniversary be a reason for all of us to be proud and joyful!
Due to the very positive reception of Contraband Police worldwide, we have decided to further develop our creation!
Immediately after the game's release in March last year, we began working on two free expansions: Endless Mode and Challenge Mode, which significantly expanded the game with new objects and mechanics.
In December 2023, we organized the first contest with prizes! We made every effort to ensure that the prizes were of the highest quality. Currently, we are in the process of sending them to the winners. Additionally, seeing a great interest in collectible items, we are considering opening an online store on our website where you will be able to order Contraband Police figurines, paintings, and other gadgets. Please write in the comments what you think about this idea.
We are releasing a free Anniversary Update on March 21, 2024!
To celebrate this important moment with you, we are preparing new free content!
The AI system is currently undergoing significant changes aimed at improving combat experiences and increasing NPC interaction levels.
Changes include:
The ability to use hired policemen to help in shootouts. Additionally, each comrade will gradually reveal more fragments of their story.
From now on, unmasked smugglers will attempt to flee on foot. Stop them at all costs and bring them to the arrest, bound in handcuffs.
Neutral NPCs will panic in response to danger on the road and in locations.
Ambush enemies will continue to pursue the player and engage in shootouts with policemen.
The combat system will be expanded with new animations, shouts, and enemy movement mechanics.
Here you will find a short report from the last motion capture session.
Furthermore, a new vehicle will be available in the game: Sina. The car has variants for transporting people and goods. The authorities of Acaristan have also made it available to police units!
A new weapon will also be introduced: Sniper Rifle with a scope. The weapon will be further enhanced with a bullet camera system, allowing even greater enjoyment of accurately fired shots.
After the anniversary update is released, we plan to continue developing the game.
By the end of 2024, we want to continue supporting the game technically and introduce a series of free add-ons including new items, weapons, and vehicles.
Additionally, work is underway to change the game rendering technology (Unity HDRP), aimed at significantly improving visual effects such as: terrain detail, glass display, lighting, shadow quality, and anti-aliasing.
We also inform you about ongoing porting work for next-generation consoles (PS5, Xbox Series), Meta Quest VR, and mobile devices. Work is going very well, and in just a few months, you can expect the game to be released.
In the longer term, we also plan to start working on another project, which we will inform you about in due course.
Crazy Rocks is growing!
Three new people are joining our team: Gabriela, Maciej, and Adrian, who will bring new skills, ideas, and energy to the project. Already in March of this year, we are moving to a new, larger office where we will be able to work even more efficiently on Contraband Police!
We can say with full conviction that the game you love is today much richer in content and possibilities than on the day of its debut. To continue this passion and dedication in further support and development, we are faced with the necessity of raising the game's price. The change will take effect on February 4, 2024. We understand that the price is important to each of you, and we would like to ensure that this decision is not made without deep consideration. This change reflects the work, time, and love we put into creating every aspect of the game. It is also an investment in the future - thanks to it, we will be able to offer even more free updates and improve gaming experiences for all players.
With pride, we announce that the First International Contest for the Best Acaristan Inspector has concluded!

It is impossible to express the pride and joy of the entire Crazy Rocks team when we learned about the nomination for this year's Steam award! It is the greatest honor we could ever imagine and a beautiful tribute to those six years of hard, work we put into Contraband Police! I would like to express my gratitude to You, the best gaming community in the world! You helped us conduct efficient playtests, provided us with invaluable feedback, and ultimately voted for our game to be nominated this year. You gave us the best gift for Christmas!
Crazy Rocks is a small studio from Poland that I founded in 2015 out of my passion for games, being a part of my life since I received a Commodore 64 for Christmas :) The Contraband Police project started in 2017, initially developed by just two people (myself and my former partner). During production, 5 very talented individuals have joined the team! Originally, it was meant to be a simple simulator, but my unstoppable desire to create a Magnum Opus took over...
It was very important for me to use many diverse mechanics that would pleasantly surprise and complement the routine actions typical of simulators. At the same time, out of pure respect for video games, I placed great emphasis on the quality and precision of all implemented elements. In this way, we managed to create a new, hybrid type of simulator with a semi-open world, set in an atmospheric universe filled with action and story. It was an incredible journey into the unknown, supported by the faith of the entire dev team, our wonderful community, as well as Playway S.A. - our understanding investors!
The number of copies sold and the high game rating is already a great reward for our contribution and dedication. In gratitude for such a good reception, we have already released 2 free expansions-modes since the game's release 9 months ago. The nomination for the Steam award simply exceeded my wildest expectations...
We are delighted that you enjoyed our game so much and were pleasantly surprised by its innovative gameplay!
Please give us your votes In this final round of the Steam Awards competition!
