I have summoned you here because I found another one of those arcane tomes that document the ways of The Great One, The Developer, Mr. Ciastku. This particular volume sheds some more light on the creation of Green Creek.

You've probably noticed, Mr. Investigator, how when you enter this haunted place everything around you starts to look a bit... different? The world begins to shift as one crosses the border from our reality into the one designed by The Developer. This is due to the forbidden magic flowing through space and time which makes all visible matter seem blue-ish or even comic book-like. Thick outlines appear around objects and bodies. One could say it seems cel shaded and kind of... charming?

The tome says also that Mr. Ciastku was inspired visually by the works of other Great Ones. The works called Wick and Unforgiving were the most influential.

Mr. Investigator! How great to see that you are still alive. Your brave and bold heart refuses to stay away from Green Creek, where demons and the otherworldly roam at night. As I’ve mentioned before, I'm in awe of your determination and I'm willing to help you. What brings you to me today, my dear?

Aah, the sounds. I know. That's how the ancient magic of the Great One works. Sometimes, between the ambiance of the night and the noises of the dead, one can hear something you could call music. However, I must warn you my dear. It's all in your head and no one else can hear it besides you – as you are the one currently under The Developer's spell.

Once upon a time, while conceiving this wicked place called Green Creek, the Great One summoned two musical mages to help him build the atmosphere of this horrid landscape. Thus, Isserley the Sad One and Myuu the Dark Sound Composer aided him, as they were fascinated by Mr. Ciastku's creations. It is their spells that make you hear the music and I highly recommend learning more about their magic before going back to your mission.



Listen carefully, as each and every one of these so called “tunes” is a powerful spell. You won't even notice when the mischievous melodies continue to envelope your mind when you try to take pause and clear your head.

The blend of ambient sounds and spells is, in itself, a source of fear which intensifies in every person who visits Green Creek. It is indeed one way the Great One’s power manifests itself in the minds of visitors. It can also serve as a warning. The closer the monsters are, the louder the rumbling sounds in your head.

Oh, hello there again! Welcome back to the store. I'm really happy to see you alive and well. So, how's your investigation going? Quite good, you say? Great to hear that you've managed to avoid ugly confrontations with all the apparitions until now. But you do know you can't run away forever, don’t you?

Hmm, what I'm saying is – you need to be prepared. Tell me, have you perhaps noticed a workbench in one of the shacks down in Green Creek? You have? I thought so. That'll do quite nicely, I reckon.

I suggest you try looking for some spare metal parts around the area. You seem resourceful. With a bit of imagination and handywork, you could upgrade some of the tools you’ve bought from my store. I could teach you how to make a bear trap, for example. Did you know I was raised by a family of poachers? Anyway, it just might some in handy if you want to catch some of the more… aggressive demons. At least I should hope so.

Welcome back, Mr. Investigator. It’s the first time I have summoned you here by myself, isn’t it? Because of your determination and strong heart I am willing to aid you on your quest to document the otherworldly apparitions haunting the grounds of Green Creek. I’m not your ordinary old lady and I have my own secrets up my sleeve...

There were many like you before, Mr. Investigator, and each one of them came to me in search of help. The thing is, none of those poor souls were bold enough or emotionally strong enough to stand up to the challenge. If they weren’t killed by the creations of The Great One, they ended up with a psychotic break and went straight to the mental hospital.



What I wanted to show you today are the sketches made by some of them. Their broken minds felt the need to get the horror of what they’d seen out of their system by materializing it in the form of drawings. Some of them were left at Green Creek, whereas others were brought to me by the relatives of the curious deceased.

I can’t say for sure, Mr. Investigator, that all of those sketches are grounded in reality, as they could be mere projections of twisted minds, but they could be as true as all of the rumors surrounding the hauntings. It could be that The Developer has summoned even deadlier creatures than the drawings would suggest. Nevertheless, be careful on your journey, as I am slowly starting to believe in your success.

Do you like a good drink, Mr. Investigator? Have you ever had a Bloody Mary? You may be not aware, but its name is taken straight from the world behind the looking glass. There was once a human ritual which encouraged young woman to walk up stairs backwards while holding a candle in one hand and a mirror in the other. It is said that by doing so, they could see a glimpse of their future husband's face in the reflection. Alas, sometimes the woman saw the face of death in the mirror, and have died in the process, before they could ever meet their future love.

Bloody Mary herself had shared this fate and now, when you chant her name three times while looking into the mirror, she appears as a corpse or a ghost. She can be benign, but she can also be very deadly and seen covered in blood. Many humans who have tried to contact her ended up strangled or even soulless.



Perhaps the Great One didn't summon Bloody Mary to Green Creek, but as gruesome folklore, it has surely served as an inspiration for creating this otherworldly area full of wicked apparitions. Who knows, maybe one day he'll bring her there to haunt women that try to pass through that cursed place?

There have been rumors spreading around the city about the investigator who has been trying to document all the weird and abnormal things going on in Green Creek. And I’ve seen you a couple of times here before, buying some expensive cameras and whatnot. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that you’re the one on a mission to capture some evidence on the apparitions which haunt that place.



No, no, no - it doesn't bother me at all. Don’t misunderstand me - I envy your courage! I'm quite interested in all paranormal activities, but I'm not brave enough to go to Green Creek myself. You can call me a theorist. I read all the articles on unnatural phenomena I can get my hands on!

Oh, and you know what? Just thinking about your work totally reminds me of those "found footage" horror movies. I mean, I don’t want you to die in the process and have the footage laying around somewhere in the forest to be found by some random dude, but hey, you can’t help but see the similarities to films like Paranormal Activity or REC. You've seen those, haven’t you? The Last Exorcism from 2010 is also great and Lake Mungo from 2008 really got under my skin!

The haunting of castles, buildings and huge manors has always been a topic of fascination for mankind. You can find creepy villas, possessed houses and mansions full of specters, ghosts and the undead in many legends and tales of horror throughout the ages. Ah, of course, brave investigator, coming from the land of man, you are familiar with moving pictures and it's these records, converted from well-known chronicles, which have served to influence the Developer in his creations.



You may be familiar with the historical account of Poltergeist, from 1982. The concept for the overall atmosphere of Green Creek was based upon this story. You want to go deeper, you say? Indeed. You should try 13 Ghosts from 1960 or perhaps The Hunting of 1963, which has come from the creepy written chronicles of Shirley Jackson. The Amityville Horror may peak your interest, as it is quite a recent tale, or something newer like Ju-On: The Grudge. And lastly, Crimson Peak, a tale woven in an elaborate design, fares like a love letter to classic haunted mansion stories.

These moving pictures and written records can help you to understand the ways of our great Developer. The old books don't lie – he actually used a few of man's works while manifesting his wicked creations. But that's only for the better isn’t it? It makes it easier to achieve a connection with his dark ways. And you need to do it if you want to understand what's going on in Green Creek.

Have you ever heard about The Slenderman? That's one of the mythical apparitions that served as an inspiration for Mr. Ciastku's realm-bending creative process. It is said that there exists a very tall and slim being without a face who manifests in various places and stalks the weak. You can spot him in many historical photographs lurking in the background with his ominous blank face. Waiting. Traumatizing people. Especially children.



If you notice someone similar in presence or behaviour, just don't look at him. Slenderman despises anyone who stares at his featureless face and he begins to haunt that person. And as you can imagine – direct contact means death.

Oh, brave investigator! Do you remember my story about the mythical creator, the divine power, who made the Golden Creek as terryfing as it is? He is the one, in the books of old, called The Great One or MrCiastku. Aah, you do remember. There's one ancient writing I didn't mention in my tale for it is shrouded in secrecy. However, you have proven yourself worthy of hearing this story. Your mind is open and you have a heart full of determination so you are presented with the wisdom granted to very few.

You see, perceptive one, this is not the only creation of The Great One. Two previous attempts had been made to turn his dark visions into reality, though both of them were turned back into dust when they hadn't met his gloomy expectations. The first world he founded was confined to a large house with a weird, grotesque and child-likeinterior. They were like those moving pictures the little ones love to follow on the television boxes and such. The person he put in there for testing purposes was given the ability to craft materials and weapons. He also had the soul of a brave warrior and confronted the demons in battle.

He didn't like it, as he had found it too greatly disconnected from our reality and his wish was to merge the creation with this world - as it was from the beginning of time.

Therefore, the second attempt of creation was much more realistic, dark and haunting. The new test subject was stripped of his abillity to craft maaterials, but The Great One allowed him to carry the Ouija board around the house. The Developer decided to make it the home for a particularly haunting ghost of a deceased woman who was able to kill "at first sight", quite similarily to Slender Man.

Before you depart, however, you should probably know about the Great One, the mysterious, mythical creator who made this place into how we see it today. All the hauntings, apparitions and paranormal activities were also put here by his hand, so the legends say. The old tomes of magic and arcane call him the Developer or Mr. Ciastku.



It is said that one day there were these weird things called "video games" which many people and other beings, even the Great Ones, were interested in. The same goes for the Developer, who adored the scariest, most chilling and most horrifying of the games. It is written that Penumbra: Black Plague and Amnesia: The Dark Descent were amongst his favorite. No one really knows how "video games" had captivated the attention of the ancient ones and led them to waste such time on them. Nevertheless, the books say that Green Creek was a creation inspired by these horrifying games which played on the the Developer's mind.



The tomes from the ages tell of many interesting stories about the mysterious Developer. You can even find some terrible sketches. They were probably unused monster concepts which didn't quite fit into his frightening visions. I brought a few of them for you. Just look at those abominations! I am indeed hoping they will not manifest in Green Creek one day...



And have you heard the stories about the places that vanish? You are aghast, but I speak the truth! There once was a mine here. One day it just disappeared and no one knows why. The local tales say that the Developer decided there was no purpose for this location to exist. If that's true, can you imagine how powerful he is?
