Overcooked! 2

Mouthwatering multiplayer masterpiece Overcooked 2 serves up a fresh survival mode today, as part of a generous free DLC.

Released in time for Chinese New Year, the seasonal update includes seven new kitchens with fresh hazards (including a Chinese dancing dragon), new chefs, and a new mechanic (woks, which must be kept bubbling over a fire).

Survival mode, meanwhile, adds back time with every dish you serve. It's supported for all levels in the main game, Surf n' Turf paid DLC, and free season updates.

Hello chefs!

We’re celebrating Chinese New Year in style with a free update for Overcooked! 2 which includes new kitchens, new recipes, new chefs, AND a whole new game mode!

Check out the official launch trailer below…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v_YzdHLjEY&feature=youtu.be

New Map, New Kitchens
In this piece of seasonal content, you’ll be transported to a new map to take on seven new kitchens in beautiful new surroundings, themed to celebrate Chinese New Year. Beware though, these new kitchens have surprises for you (watch out for the dancing dragon!)

New Recipes
You’ll get to prepare two new mouth-watering recipes: fruit platter and hot pot!
The delicious fruit platter is a traditional Chinese New Year dish that signifies fullness and wealth. While the hot pot is a dish to enjoy with family and friends.

New Chefs
We’ve included two brand new chefs to represent you in the kitchen in this update. Get ready to turn up the heat with the fiery ornate Chinese dragon and celebrate 2019 as the Year of the Pig with our wonderful new pig chef!

New Game Mode
Also included in this update is ‘Survival Mode’, where every dish you serve will add seconds to the timer and you’ll be cooking against the clock to survive for as long as possible! Survival Mode is available for all kitchens of the main game, the Surf ‘n’ Turf DLC and both seasonal updates.

And by popular demand, we’ve also added a ‘replay’ button on the results screen, so you can jump straight back into the same kitchen if you’re trying to beat your high score or just simply want to play again!

Along with this content, we’ve done some bug squishing and issue fixing too! Check out the full changelist below, for more information.

It looks like chaotic co-op cuisine celebration Overcooked 2 will soon be adding to its existing suite of free updates. A tease by developers Team 17 appears to show new recipes; a new unlockable chef; and a fresh kitchen complete with koi carp swimming around, totally unbothered by the hubbub, and it looks like these will soon be released for players to dig into.

Here’s the video: just a morsel, enough to whet your appetite.

Hi chefs,

As we’re drawing ever closer to the holidays, we hope you’re all having a fantastic time with those you hold dear – perhaps while playing the latest free Overcooked! 2 update, Kevin’s Christmas Cracker?

In any case, we’re extremely excited to share with you that Overcooked! 2 has been nominated for the Better with Friends award at The Steam Awards – and that’s all thanks to you! All finalists were nominated by players, so we quite literally couldn’t have done this without you. THANK YOU!

We still need your help, however. While we’re honoured to even be nominated for this award, we do need your help to win the award itself. Do you think Overcooked! 2 is the best nominee for the Better with Friends category this year? Would you like to help us secure the win? Then all you have to do is vote!

YOU CAN VOTE HERE - https://store.steampowered.com/steamawards/
Voting is open from December 20th until January 3rd.

To all of our chefs, we want to thank you for having played and supported Overcooked! 2 this year. We couldn’t be happier with our community and we’re looking forward to even more fun in the kitchen in 2019. Hope to see you then!

Hello chefs!

Have you ever wondered what Overcooked! 2 looked like before it was fully cooked and ready to serve?

Today, to celebrate both ‘Blocktober’ and ‘Inktober’, we’d like to share some in-development footage and concept art with you!

First up, it’s the iconic Overcooked! 2 food truck! It started with some blocks, then we added our artistic touch, and hey presto! One shiny yellow main menu food truck!

What about that colourful world map that you drive your food truck round? Here’s some concept art created before it went into the game!

Did you know that your truck changes to take on the different terrain around the map? What’s your favourite part of the world map?

An important part of the prep for Overcooked! 2 was the story. The Onion King’s poor decision to raise The Unbread had to be drawn up and planned out on a storyboard before it could go into the game.

Here’s a snippet from the storyboard for that spooky opening cutscene featuring The Unbread!

And their final in-game form….

Last but not least, here’s a look at the concept for that crazy balloon level, which is one of the brand new dynamic kitchens in Overcooked! 2 that change on the fly!

That’s all for now. Let us know if you’d like to see more of the concept and development phase of Overcooked! 2 (including the brand new Surf ‘n’ Turf DLC) in the future!
