If you do any of your cooking with other chefs online, we've just put out an update that should make this experience even better. Today's update adds "shared progress" saving, which now saves story progress to the profiles of all online chefs!

“With the Shared Progress update, levels played in Story mode online will now be saved for all online players. This means levels will be unlocked, stars awarded, and your best score saved for everyone when completing a level, whether you are the host or the client!”

We hope this update will make your online cooking even better, and are looking forward to seeing even more of you 4-starring kitchens together!

Full patch notes for today's update:

• New functionality for Clients in online Story mode games to save progress.
  
• Fixed an issue where input from certain PS4 controllers was not being recognised in-game on OSX.
  
• Fixed an error that occurred if a client left an online game during the intro cutscene.
  
• Fixed the button text on the controls screen displaying in the incorrect language for Japanese/Simplified Chinese/Korean.

We are currently investigating an issue related to Cloud Saves on Overcooked! 2. If Cloud Saves are enabled on your PC, some players may be affected by an issue where their save data can appear to have been lost as it may be downloaded from the Steam Cloud into an incorrect folder.

For any players who are affected, we are seeing that the save data downloaded from the Steam Cloud can be found in the following file location for each platform:

WINDOWS: AppData\LocalLow\Team17\Overcooked2\{64BitSteamID}\Team17\Overcooked2\[SteamID]\

OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/unity.Team17.Overcooked/{64BitSteamID}\Team17\Overcooked2\[SteamID]

LINUX: ~/.config/unity3d/Team17/Overcooked/{64BitSteamID}\Team17\Overcooked2\[SteamID]


This isn’t a folder that the game will check for save data, so if the game cannot find the save file, it will then assume there is no save data and create new files. To use this data, the files in the folders above need to be copied into the following locations for each platform:

WINDOWS: AppData\LocalLow\Team17\Overcooked2\Team17\Overcooked2\[SteamID]\

OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/unity.Team17.Overcooked/[SteamID]

LINUX: ~/.config/unity3d/Team17/Overcooked/[SteamID]


We have now put a fix into place for this and Cloud Saves made from this point on Windows and OSX will now be downloaded from the Steam Cloud into the correct folder. Cloud Saving will unfortunately be unavailable on Linux whilst we continue to investigate the issue further and work towards a full fix.

Today we are excited to serve up a small but much requested update to your kitchens. You can now rebind your keys in the Steam version of the game. You can now chop, bake, and move with your own custom controls!

To rebind your controls:

• On the Main Menu select Settings
  
• Select Controls
  
• Select if you are player 1 or have split keyboard for 2 players.
  
• Then change your controls to what you want. (Some keys will not be available.)

We’ve cooked up a special treat for you, just in time for the weekend!
We’re excited to announce that the first content update for Overcooked! 2 is fresh out of the oven, and it includes New Game+!

Get ready to chop, mix, fry and bake your way to 4 Stars!

Here’s what’s on the menu:

• New Game + added (unlocks once all the story mode levels have been completed in Campaign)
  
• Added a couple of treats for players who complete New Game+
  
• Story mode: Chefs can now be changed through the pause menu when on the World Map
  
• Star boundaries for all levels are now displayed on the world map, loading screen, and the results screen
  
• Story mode: Levels now display a preview image on the World Map
  
• Updated description for “Dinner Party Posse” achievement text to specify Arcade mode.

Overcooked! 2 uses peer-to-peer networking so we suggest disabling VPNs whilst playing Overcooked! 2 online. This will ensure that the matchmaking system is able to pair you with local players to create a great online experience.

We've just updated Overcooked! 2 to include fixes for a couple of issues, that some of you have been experiencing, including chefs not unlocking for all players. Please find the patch notes below.

Patch notes:

• Fix for a softlock that occurred when loading into games
  
• Fix for clients not saving unlocked chefs in online games*
  
• Fix for lighting not displaying correctly in cutscenes and level 6-6

* Please note that this fix won't be available on OSX until tomorrow.
