SCP: Secret Laboratory - [SCP:SL] The Sick Lion

Large wall of text incoming!

*Tap tap* Is this thing on? Yes? Oh, good. Ahem, this is a proclamation from the O5's responsible for this project. We've not forgotten you!

However, things have been slow recently. And I know we promised you within 50 hours of the last update to push out another update, but we are planning a huge update with the new map generator, new door design and some other great features (which shall remain under Level 5 - Thaumiel clearance!). This means that it takes more time. I hope you can all have the patience for that.

We've seen a lot of complaints about micro-updates, and I've spoke to Hubert about it. For less-than-essential updates (any update not featuring critical bug fixes) we will attempt to make them bigger and more spaced out. It can still occur that you suddenly get an update, which means we fixed a critical issue as a result of the updates.

As far as the development of the game, and its pace goes, I'm working with Hubert to slowly integrate a team-based structure, where developers get to work in one of the teams best suited to their skillset. This could be network protection or it could be theoretical research into new SCP's (Yes, we're working on, but those developers are working under an non-disclosure agreement, so no point asking ;) ).

What else is exciting is that I've formally hired Grover_c13, the author of the popular tool Multi-Admin, in the development team, which means that at some point we hope to integrate Multi-Admin into the game, but that's a way's off.

Something else entirely...
I've recently (in the past week) been promoted to Project Manager, which means I am now directly below Hubert, and have gained access to a like-minded permission system. I do not develop nor code for this project, but I help structurally in setting developers up and facilitating to the things they need to do their job properly.

I enjoy the new title immensely as it gives me a whole new perspective (and respect!) for the currently on-going development procedures.

This, however, means I'll be distancing myself more and more from directly engaging with the Community. Whereas previously that was my sole task, it now becomes something I can no longer give my undivided attention.

That is why I'm happy to announce that Eviction Notice is from here on out the Deputy Community Manager, reporting directly to me. He will take over most of my tasks in the Community, such as training the new moderators and maintaining the procedures in place for this Community.

It's painful for me to take a step back from what I did with a lot of passion, for the short time it might have been. That doesn't mean I'm out of reach though! On my profile is a wide array of ways to reach me, but I will not comment on suggestions, requests for status updates, and more of that.

I'll still be doing these announcements from time to time when I have time, though.

In hopes of having informed you enough with this announcement, I take my leave.

Best regards,
The Lion

Hey folks!

Thanks so much for a great Q&A Stream! We had a good lot of fun, and thank you so much for your input into the game and asking very honest questions! I hope we've been informative to your questions.

I wish to apologise in advance for not getting to everyone's questions, but as you all know we had a tight schedule and my calendar for today was packed. ːreliefː

We'll let you know when we do another Q&A Stream, but that's not the only events we'll be doing. I have a lot of idea's for Community Events where I personally will partake in, but if you have any suggestions, feel free to drop them below!

Closing off, I was sent an image today that is a hilarious bug but made for some interesting artwork!

Cheers again guys, you're awesome and keep SCP'ing on!

Hey guys, how are you all doing?

It's me again. (Yes, again Jim!)

So what am I going to be rambling about today? Well, not much, actually! We figured that instead of giving you pre-translated changelog hours ahead of an update, why not do it in a video?!

The video showcases our latest work, of which some (or all, look at Hubert) features will be presented in the next update.

We've been consistent with our Roadmap with this video, so let us know what you think!

Video link: https://youtu.be/4udBcmu2PAc

I'll be posting a changelog in advance for this update once Hubert sends me the document.

I'm going to end this announcement with another featured artwork commission.

It would appear we have a problem...

See you guys soon!

Hey folks! It's me again, and I'm here with some great news!

We're ready to publish our first roadmap for the next 3 months!

Now, before we go on with this, I want to put in a word of caution that whatever is currently put up in the roadmap is subject to change on any data, including release date and exact specifics about the goal at mind.

I can yammer on and on what this means, but I feel that this image speaks a thousand words on its own. Now, without further ado I'll give you the roadmap you've been waiting for!

1 has the highest priority, 4 has the lowest, etc.

My apologies for the watermark in advance. It's a great program, but costs a lot to use for commercial ends.

An additional note:

We have just concluded our first batch of Moderators trainings, with eight moderators ready to help us keep the Discussions a friendly and toxic-free place. Give 'em a round of applause!

In closing, I wish all of you a great week, and see you soon!
