Exciting news - Life is Feudal: MMO is making its return on Steam soon! This re-release comes as part of an agreement with BitBox, the original game developers, and sees LTG publishing the game in partnership with Lunate studio.
Since its relaunch on the https://ltg.com/game/life-is-feudal platform in May 2023, the game has seen over 30 updates, introducing enhancements to game mechanics, professions, and the redesign of more than 150 items, along with the squashing of numerous bugs. The LTG team is committed to not only refining the current iteration but also has expansive visions for the game's future development.
A significant update in the new version is the introduction of a game subscription model. Our goal? To level the playing field, ensuring success is dictated by skill and strategy, not by in-game purchases. Thus, we've instituted a subscription service while eliminating any store purchases that could skew game balance.
Life is Feudal: MMO veterans from the previous version of the game will have the opportunity to convert their prior expenses into LiF Coins, redeemable for game subscriptions. Moreover, veterans will be greeted with a bonus - 30 days of free trial. Newcomers aren't left out either, receiving a welcome bonus of 7 days of free trial. And for those currently playing via https://ltg.com/game/life-is-feudal? They, too, will enjoy 7 days of free subscription. We’re ensuring rewards all around!

Welcome, fellow feudal lords, to the second instalment of the Life is Feudal: MMO Developer Diaries!
Following the success of our first edition, we've taken note of your feedback, suggestions, and burning questions, and have done our best to address them, whether it was by simply replying to you in comments or by answering you directly in a recent live stream.
We're going to do our best to keep up the momentum, and so, for our second Developer Diary, we're looking at the finer details of our upcoming new map, some of the many new exciting new features that will be coming soon, and, how we will approach player disputes.
As before, if you prefer watching/listening to the video itself, we've got you covered:
Player Disputes
Let's start by addressing one of the major questions brought up by the community: How will the team manage player disputes?
Easy, we're adopting a hands-off approach to conflicts within the game. If the game mechanics allow you to do something, provided no bugs are exploited, we will allow it.
Within the world of Life is Feudal: MMO, we want conflicts to be resolved by swords or diplomacy, no matter how honourable or underhanded your tactics are.
We will only get involved if your actions break the game rules, or if there are issues that arise as a result of bugs/exploits.
The New Map
First thing's first, the size. We've long announced that this new map will be a lot smaller, but just how small will it be?
Coming in between 5x5 to 7x7, this map is a really small one, so you should expect a much more intense playing field.
Important: If you think that the map is too small, worry not. We've made sure to develop this map so that it is easily scaleable. So if needed, we can change the map's size without much problem.
A more intense map always gives way to questions/concerns/comments about the Green zones. These zones are separated by offline servers, and to teleport there, you will need an empty inventory.
PvP Changes
All of the changes that we've made to this new map point in one direction, a much stronger focus on PvP. However, it's not just the map size that has been changed, a lot of the game mechanics have been rebalanced or even entirely changed.
Judgement Hour
Though prime times are tied to the servers, when a guild installs a monument, they can choose a time from a selection of pre-set times.
Our hope is that this would result in a much more coordinated and concentrated PvP experience, as all of your neighbouring guilds will have their Judgment Hours at the same time.
PvP combat enthusiasts will be pleased to know that we've also loosened the reins of PvP outside of Judgement hour. Siege constructions can now be deployed outside of Judgment Hour.
All of this may sound rather daunting (and dare I say, unbalanced) towards the attackers, but fear not valiant defenders! You will receive various buffs based on guild rank, these buffs will ensure that the playing battlefield is not skewered to only one side of the equation.
PvPvE, the Knool Camps
Venturing further, PvPvE encounters at Knool camps are going to be a major focus of the game. This is because in order to craft high-quality equipment, you will need to raid these camps.
However, that's not all. Securing these treasures is only half the battle. You will need to (somehow) safely carry your loot home—vigilance against bandits on the journey home will be paramount.
Trading
Thanks to the smaller map and the various changes introduced so far, trading in our medieval realm has grown more perilous. No more teleportation, you'll need to transport the goods yourself. Just like with the Knool camps, bandits are sure to be active, so you'll need to prepare yourself well.
Godenland anyone?
This developer diary has focused mainly on the upcoming new map, so perhaps the Godenland players may feel a bit left out.
Rest assured, Godenland fans, we remain dedicated to supporting both maps equally, with ongoing development informed by player feedback and reactions.
We are actively developing Godenland in a way that will be directly beneficial to those who play there, which means that we're taking on a strongly player-driven development path. Sure, we have a priority list (fixing the major bugs and game pain points are on top), but we are going over your feedback and reactions every day, and we use that to form the direction of the game's development.
So, if there is something that you want to see, or feel that we need to fix or change, let us know either here as a comment or in our Discord server.
That brings us to the end of this developer diary, we hope that you've enjoyed what you've read so far.

Here comes the second half of the answers to your hot questions! We've gathered as much information as possible and provided the most detailed answers we could. Want to know more about Legacy Rewards and the game's return to Steam? We've got you covered: (and video version too!)
How will the money I've spent will translate into LiF Coins? Am I getting an equal amount?
That's correct. Our Legacy Rewards system for game veterans works in such a way that any donations made in the game prior to the relaunch will be converted into dollars. We will credit the player an equivalent amount in the form of LiF Coins, calculated 1:1. These coins can be used to reduce the cost of a subscription, if they are insufficient for full payment. For example, 15 LiF Coins can be used to purchase a one-month subscription (considering its base cost).
What about the people who own the game on Steam, but use the LTG Launcher to play it now? Will they get 30 free days too? And what about the people who use a different email address now? Can they link it with the old account?
Let's clarify — if you played the old version of the game, you will in any case receive your bonus, not only free 30 days, but also LiF Coins, in accordance with your donations in the old version.
If you are playing the game right now, thank you for your support! Our active audience is very important to us, so of course you will receive all the corresponding bonuses and privileges. New players (including those currently active) will receive a 7-day trial, while legacy players will get 30 days.
If you are currently using different credentials for the game, you will also be able to link your current account and old account in order to receive the corresponding bonuses.
The bonuses will be the same for players on the LTG Platform and on Steam. The feature to link your LTG and old legacy account is currently under development. Stay tuned for updates on when this feature will be added.
You wrote that current players cannot yet register via Steam.
So do I understand correctly that current players cannot benefit from the LiF Coins because they should continue to log in via the LTG Launcher?
The main factor for obtaining LIF Coins is whether you played the old version of the game. If you made donations in the old version of the game, you can in any case get LIF Coins through our Legacy Rewards system. Even if you are already playing on our platform now. Legacy Rewards are available for all players who played LiF MMO prior to the relaunch.
Is Steam going to be a way to access the game much more quickly and easily, or is it just going to be a button we press to open the LTG launcher, through which all access and account dealings will actually still take place?
Accessing the game through Steam will indeed initiate the LTG Launcher. The process will be identical to launching the LTG Launcher directly. So, in essence, Steam will serve as a convenient platform from which you can open the LTG Launcher, but all access and account dealings will still take place through the LTG Launcher. The Launcher is necessary for managing subscriptions, which is something that cannot be implemented in Steam.
If the game releases on Steam in the same state it is now, and we want to "save" the free month for when the new map comes out, will you give all users the option to choose when to redeem it? Same question regarding LiF Coins.
After you receive LIF Coins, you can store them as long as you want. LIF Coins don't have an expiration date, so you can pay for the subscription with them whenever you think it's necessary.
And here's another thing — the bonus month will start with the first launch of the game through Steam.
The game has been launched three times, each with a fresh map: first with Avalon and other maps, then twice with Godenland. The game world was cleared for each launch, and the game saw an initial surge in activity and player numbers, which then dramatically dropped. What strategies do you have in place to address this cycle of hype and decline?
Our team is working on implementing new game mechanics, changing the conditions on game maps, launching various events, and other innovations. But mainly it is the new mechanics and conditions that will help the game break out of the cycle of clearing the game world. New mechanics will keep high-level players interested, and new changing conditions will bring some "chaos" into the world that players are already used to.
Regarding the new siege and claim system, when can we expect a preview? Will it be implemented on the new map, or should we anticipate another game wipe in a year?
We are excited about the updated system of sieges and claims that we are developing at the moment. We will be sharing more details about it in our upcoming news and developer diaries.
Currently, we do not have plans for a wipe.
With the anti-cheat system now in place, is there a plan to address NetCode and Lag Compensation issues? Could moving certain functions to the client side, like the stamina bar, help reduce server load?
Indeed, enhancing the game performance is on top of our priorities and we are actively working on various optimization options. This includes more detailed logging to identify areas that need improvement.
However, it's a complex process and we need to ensure that it does not compromise the game's security and balance. Rest assured, we're dedicated to improving the overall game experience and we're taking all necessary steps to achieve this.
Will veterans who didn't play through Steam also receive equivalent rewards?
Yes, all players, regardless of whether they played via Steam or not, will receive the same rewards as part of our Legacy Rewards system. This is in line with our commitment to fairness and providing an equal playing experience for everyone.
The rewards will be the same for players on both the LTG Platform and Steam. That includes a 7-day trial for new players (including those who are currently active) and a 30-day trial for legacy players. So, if you're a veteran who didn't play via Steam, rest assured, you won't miss out on any of the rewards.
⚠️⚠️The bonus campaign with the free game period (7 and 30 days) is not yet active. We will announce its launch separately!⚠️⚠️
Do you have a date set for the relaunch on Steam? If so, when?
The relaunch of the game on Steam is planned for this spring. We don't have a specific date set yet, but rest assured, we're working hard to make it happen as soon as possible.
Can LiF Coins be used for specific items from the in-game store, such as unlocking exclusive skins/items that aren't available through normal gameplay? I know several players eager to use their coins for crowns and other cosmetics.
At present, we are planning for LiF Coins to be used solely for purchasing subscriptions (for personal use, not as a gift). Keep in mind, the current game version doesn't have a premium shop. Players ONLY need to pay for the subscription to access all game content. Our aim is to ensure that all players are on an equal footing in the game.
Upon the Steam launch, will previous game owners and veterans automatically receive Legacy Rewards after their first game launch, or are there specific requirements to be met first?
No, this will not happen automatically. Players who owned the previous version of the game will be able to benefit from the Legacy Rewards. You would need to have access to your old account and confirm it to receive these rewards. This is an important measure to ensure that we correctly identify veteran players and distribute the rewards accordingly. We understand that this may seem like an extra step, but we are committed to making this process as smooth as possible.
More detailed guides on how to confirm your old account and claim Legacy Rewards will be published when we launch the campaign, so stay tuned.

We've gathered your questions regarding the game's return to Steam and the Legacy Rewards, and we're excited to address the first part of them now.
We'll also be addressing your other questions a bit later. To provide complete answers to some of your queries, we need to gather as much detailed information as possible. We appreciate your patience and your continued support of Life is Feudal: MMO.
Are the developers considering lowering the price of the game (subscription) and/or making it Free?
Yes, we are planning to lower the subscription price for the game. Our team is still focused on creating comfortable conditions, expanding the player base, adding new content, and everything related to improving Life is Feudal: MMO as a game. The price will be reduced by at least 25%, and more details about the new pricing will be provided later. Those who subscribed from the beginning of operation can expect bonuses. Stay tuned for more details.
Will the release on Steam come with the new map? Or new map will come later?
The game's return to Steam will come with Godenland. Steam players will join the already existing map, which will NOT be wiped. The new map is in the works and we will notify you about its progress later. More details about the new map will be shared in the second episode of the development diaries, which we are already preparing.
Will you expand your development team in case of success with the Steam release?
We plan to work on and develop the project in any case, utilizing our maximum capabilities. The degree to which we develop the project will depend on audience interest. We will be able to adjust the development plan according to the engagement of our players in the game.
All the skins and cosmetics that we purchased on steam on the previous version of the game will be lost? same will happen with the characters that we created?
The old version of the game was closed by the previous developer. All your characters, purchased skins, and other game achievements stayed in it and can't be recovered. We are a new development team and have relaunched the project almost from scratch. All players who want to return will have to create new characters. However, despite the fact that the game was not previously published by us, we will credit you with a bonus proportional to your donations, which you can spend on the subscription.
Thanks to the subscription system, all game content is instantly available to you without any restrictions. The subscription also allows you to unlock skins, create multiple characters, and participate in any game activities.
What will you do if Bitbox releases something like life is feudal 2 with the new engine?
It does not affect our plans in any way. We will continue and keep on improving the Life is Feudal: MMO project in such a way that our players find it interesting and comfortable to play the game, build their kingdoms, and chill with friends. Depending on the players' interest in the game, we are also considering the possibility of updating the game engine.
Will the sub and the sub you can buy with the "LiF coins" apply for both maps: Godenland and the new one? Like, will we be able to have chars in both worlds at the same time with the same sub?
The subscription purchased with LIF Coins is no different from the regular subscription. All your characters will be accessible to you, on both game maps. Whether you pay for the subscription in a standard way or through Lif Coins, you get full access to the game, without any limitations.
Will we be able to obtain more of these LiF coins in game? (Farm them?)
At this moment, we don't have plans in place for players to obtain more of the LiF coins in-game through farming or other activities. However, we appreciate your question and it's something we'll consider. We are always looking for ways to enhance the gaming experience and we'll take your suggestion into account.
If we have changed our Steam username since the shutdown in 2021, will you still be able to identify and link our old Xsolla purchases to our new LTG account that we make through Steam?
Changing your Steam username will not prevent us from restoring information about your purchases. We look at the steamid, not the username, so changing your username won't affect our ability to recognize your account. Therefore, if you have the necessary data of the account through which you played the old version of the game, you will be able to get LIF Coins.
Will the cap be 6 characters per map? or 6 characters in total.
Currently, the cap is set at a total of 6 characters per account, not per map. This means that with one account, you can have up to 6 characters in total, regardless of the map they are on. However, we are considering the possibility of increasing the maximum number of characters.
Will there be any major innovations? Will there be a server wipe after the game is released on Steam?
Game innovations do not depend on the game's return to Steam, we are constantly working on improvements and preparing new content. The next major innovation is the new map, which we will talk about in more detail in the next issue of development diaries! A server wipe is also not planned.
Do you have any plans that player can earn those "lif coins" in the game via web 3 methods?
LIF Coins are not a cryptocurrency, and we currently do not have plans to add mechanics for their direct earning through blockchain. However, we remain open to evolving our approach as we continue to develop and improve the game.
You are going to put a calendar with the dates and objectives you have?
Yes, we're currently working on a new version of the roadmap which we'll be sharing very soon. However, due to the nature of game development—which can be a complex and unpredictable process—we won't be providing specific dates until we're close to being ready for release. That ensures that we give out accurate information and manage expectations appropriately. We appreciate your patience and look forward to sharing our roadmap with you soon.
Today, on April 3rd at 17:00 CEST, we're going live on our Twitch / Youtube channels with a special stream featuring our community manager, Tenzin. He'll be diving into your questions from our latest Q&A session. Don't miss out on a chance to learn some insightful and exciting info about the game! See you on stream!

Loyalty program
Our community means the world to us, and we're deeply grateful for your unwavering support. To show our appreciation, we've designed a new loyalty program exclusively for the game's veterans. If you were active and had transactions in Life is Feudal: MMO before its re-launch on LTG platform, you'll soon have the chance to reclaim your game balance as special LiF Coins. These can be exchanged for game subscriptions starting April 2024.
Got questions? We thought you might. Here's a quick FAQ to get you started:
How do I receive LiF Coins?
If you've made transactions in the game's previous version, you'll be eligible once the program kicks off. LiF Coins are going to be available through your account on https://ltg.com/. We'll provide detailed guidelines soon.
What about my purchased starter packs?
Absolutely, they will be taken into account.
Can I use LiF Coins to gift a subscription?
Subscriptions activated via LiF Coins are for your account only.
Can LiF Coins be exchanged for other currencies?
No, LiF Сoins are exclusive for Life is Feudal: MMO subscriptions.
What if my LiF Сoins don't cover a full subscription?
Your LiF Сoins will be applied first, and you'll only need to cover any difference.
Steam release
This spring, we're thrilled to bring the latest version of Life is Feudal: MMO back to Steam, inviting a wave of new adventurers to join their future friends and foes in the realm of Abella. And Steam is just the beginning; we're planning to expand to other popular platforms.
Please note: New Steam accounts will join the unified game server. Existing ltg.com players should continue logging in through ltg.com, as Steam login isn't available for pre-existing accounts yet.
Steam players will need a game subscription. Veterans with the game in their library will enjoy a 30-day free period. If you’ve played Life is Feudal: MMO on Steam before, this is your sign to return! Newcomers are also welcomed with a 7-day premium subscription as a bonus.

Anti-Cheat
This topic is going to be a bit of a "hot one" so we want to make sure that the info is out there clearly. Life is Feudal MMO will be making use of the "Easy Anti-Cheat" engine. You can learn more about it here.
Why are we doing this? Regardless of model, free-2-play / subscription, or platform, if an MMO exists people will try to cheat in it, unfortunately, that’s just a fact of gaming these days.
To prevent this, we’re adding the Easy Anti-Cheat system to the game. We know that opinion is always divided on these engines, however, they are a necessity. We’ve spent a lot of time looking into what is available to us, and Easy Anti-Cheat was the best choice for us.
