Another big update long in the works is releasing today. Check Steam today for the Airborne Update v0.90 where you’ll find changes from huge new transports, to longstanding bugfixes and engine upgrades. The biggest new update in this version is support for steerable parachutes. If you have a parachute pack in your inventory, you can deploy them while airborne by pressing the F key or using the action menu. These parachute packs add another dimension to getaways, heists, and aircraft… malfunctions. You can find packs at the airport that are resupplied every few minutes. Pick one up or share with your crew in order to craft unique scenarios. You can use them to plant a rooftop sniper or stage an airborne attack of the military base for example. Thanks @BP_RU_COMMUNITY Luckily, the parachutes are easy to control. using WASD + QE keys – similar to the helicopters in-game. The parachutes use actual physics so try to maintain some speed if you want to efficiently cover distance. And ease in for a soft landing or you’ll be hurting. What good would parachutes be without a suitable plane to deliver you and your crew? At the airport, you’ll find a huge new cargo plane just made for that. The Hercules can carry you and 100 passengers (Really) to wherever you need to drop in. Don’t forget to pack your parachutes beforehand. New physics should make aircraft a bit easier to manage, but you still want to assign a skilled pilot for any planned drops. Aircraft like this are in preparation for larger supported maps coming in the future, so hang tight for more news. Tons of other changes made it in, from seating ability anywhere, hitbox and mesh fixes, and graphics tweaks and optimizations. Loads of other updates also under the hood due to a big engine upgrade. See the full patch notes below.

Steam Workshop support is finally here! Build all new worlds and share with the community for both online play and single-player. All item creation, sharing, and even following community content can now be done in-game. Click the Plus icon to immediately subscribe to and download community maps. You'll find your new maps listed in the updated Offline Play menu. No more annoying config file editing. Just a couple of easy steps to play around with custom content. In the workshop, you can find works-in-progress, training maps, testing scenarios, or full cities to explore. Soon you'll see additional custom content support for adding new weapons and skins as well. This update also introduces a new vehicle, the largest one yet actually. The Semi-truck can be found driven by AI or parked in industrial areas. It's got enough mass to blow through blockades and deal destruction. However, it's slow to hit top speed so try to keep your momentum going. In addition, a ton of new Industrial and Train Objects have been added to the world builder. You'll find tracks, tunnels, warehouses, containers, and dozens of more placeable objects. Broke Protocol will continue to see more objects additions to give creators the toolset they need to make really diverse content. Also, and a brand new weapon made the cut into v0.89. A black-market Soviet PKM. This light-machine gun is absolutely devastating. Think the firepower of the AK, with the continuous firing capability of a machine gun. Though a bit slower and heavier than the SAW, this 7.62 packs a punch that makes it a literal meatgrinder. Use with caution. You'll find this at the default gun merchant for a cool $2000. Better stock up on ammunition and armor because the slow-movement speed can make you easier to track down. But that's ok, since this weapon excels in a target-rich environment. Also you've find various tweaks from menu and mesh changes, to driving tweaks. Here's the rest of the change log. Looking forward to trying out your custom maps soon.
Added Steam Workshop Browser Added in-game Workshop Uploader Added drivable Semi-Trucks Added PKM light machine gun Added dozens of train/industry map objects Added map selection to Offline mode Offline mode larger map support Fixed some building mesh errors Tweaked shop textures Fixed some city object texture transparency Bullethole and blood meshes have backfaces now Optimized preview generation in World Builder Map format has newlines for cleaner version control Editor can edit inventory lengths without losing items Fixed apartment door particle effects location Couple new vehicle sound updates Vehicle steering lock tweaks Minor inventory icon changes
The Downtown Update is ready for release today! Your game will automatically update with all new objects, features, fixes, and a new weapon. The main highlight of this update is a whole set of new city objects, buildings, landmarks, and props to help your custom map stand out. Add famous landmarks or a large business district to your custom server. The default map has been updated with some objects but will see a fully-realized downtown area in the future. For now, support your community servers and map makers on our Discord here. Workshop integration is coming so prepare content and post on our #worldbuilder channel for a chance to get featured. You'll also find a brand new can opener at the gun shop. By can opener, I mean the world-famous SPAS-12 Special Purpose Automatic Shotgun. It has similar stats to the basic shotgun but sports a semi-automatic firing mode. This beast will leave a mark so make sure to use in areas where collateral damage is not an issue, or if you just don't give a fuck what gets destroyed in the process. The new automatic shotgun kicks like mule and has spread like no other. So you want to get in close to make sure every hit counts. You'll find it sold at the gunshop only, though there is a shelf item available if you want to 'borrow' it for a while. Use with caution. Finally, I wanted to thank the content creators and admins for their amazing contributions. Community servers like Project Gaming, BPRP, Suran.PL, and the Chile server have built awesome communities. Moderating an RP server is no small task, so thank admins for their hard work. And make sure you support their efforts into things like Server tools and custom maps. Workshop integration will hopefully give creators more recognition in our community.
For now, here's the rest of the giant change log. Can't wait to see what else the you can come up with.
Added farm props, objects, and items New weapon added (SPAS-12) Updated gunshop and merchant with new weapon New city objects, buildings, landmarks, and props New netcode powered by ENET (faster and more robust) Fixed player orientation and hit registration problems Increased server tick-rate by 60% for more accurate player syncing Optimized graphics system for multi-threaded performance Hide un-selected interiors in editor Fixed'X' Button to nullify objects in editor Fixed casting exceptions in the editor Fixed AI getting stuck often due to new player physics Correctly reset AI after they've been knocked out Some new buildings added to Default map Slight Default map waypoint tweaks to prevent stuck AI Spawned AI without nearby waypoints/navmesh will be destroyed Added map warnings for missing waypoint/door/inventory references Fixed ocean animation and correctly sync across client/server Updated VOIP library to latest release More accurate server player count reporting Slight flood chance increase Reduced rain audio volume a bit Fixed client map loading stuck after joining different servers Improved server data throttling during initial map transfer Clean up memory after map is loaded Don't need to sync some server-side objects with client Fixed duplicate items in furniture menu Reduced boat/plane/helo stabilizer forces Many road and prop mesh fixes and cleanup Fixed police lights stuck not rotating Fixed connection error handling Tweaked packet throttling settings (crazy lag) Fixed off-by-one error in apartment index calculation Asynchronous client-side game loading Added Exit button during loading Update to latest Unity Engine release
The Broke Protocol Farmland Update hits Steam today! This update is the first in a series that aims to add huge packs of objects, props, items, vehicles and more. The goal is to provide map makers more pre-built stuff to work with to provide fresh new scenarios. Over a hundred new map objects have been added to the World Builder - mostly focused on farmland and countryside elements. Get dirty with mud roads, farm equipment, and literal pig sties. Maps designed around these rural objects can offer a breath of fresh air for this mostly city-centered game. In addition to the map objects, you'll find new characters, vehicles, and clothing options around the game world. A couple new off-road capable vehicles have been added, as well as 2 new start-up characters: the Farmer and the Wrangler. These new starter characters allow you to don cowboy hats and rough work overalls. Topped off with a mean pair of mutton-chops. Several other critical game engine updates have been added. Player movement is now fixed to prevent sliding around on hills and slopes. Also, aiming and stance now affect weapon recoil and accuracy. Crouch to reduce vertical recoil and aim down sights to improve first shot accuracy. You'll notice aiming reduces movement speed to a walk as well and iron-sight jitter has been reduced. More work on gunplay in future patches. Finally, big improvements to the editor with this updates. You can now search for any items you want. The search is case-insensitive and returns partial matches as well to make map creation that much more efficient. Also, a big memory leak that could often cause crashing has been fixed. So a much smoother environment for map building overall. More feedback is requested for future improvements.
Here's the rest of the giant changelog. Get the updates, play, and share with friends!

The Broke Protocol World Builder Update releases on Steam Today! The latest v0.86 release has been a huge undertaking, and it stands to be the biggest game changer since launch. Players can now build their own custom maps from the ground up. Servers will be able to run their own maps to make each server its own unique roleplay-centered universe. If you want to recreate your favorite fictional city, or make something all your own - now is your chance to do it. Create realistic bustling urban centers or desolate wartorn landscapes. Have items and weapons around every corner, or banish them completely. Tailor your map and your server to what you and your players want and enjoy. All in-game assets will be available and more. Everything doable in the Default world will be able to be replicated within your own maps. This includes custom interiors, apartments, AI merchants, guards, traffic, random pedestrians, restricted areas, jailyards and more. The entire Default map will be available in the Maps folder for you to inspect and see how the original world was made. Create huge areas with just minutes of object placement and manipulation. Controls in the editor are the same as within Unity Engine and other 3D editors. Here's a quick tutorial video on how to make a simple map in 20 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHD3P90Hovw If you're familiar with 3D-editing, you'll feel right at home. And if not, this is a great time to start learning. We've opened up a #worldbuilder channel in our Discord. Check it out if you need extra help or want to share the latest screenshots of your work-in-progress. Remember, you're not just limited to city roleplaying anymore. There are over 2000 assets right now to create anything you like. New packs will be added as well as community contributions so this number will continue to grow. Maybe you'll find something the the BP engine does really well that no one has tried before. So don't be afraid to make something groundbreaking.

The Hardware update is arriving today for Broke Protocol. This brings the game version up to 0.84 and provides a few new items and stability fixes before the Free-to-Keep 100-hour Steam promotion starting August 15th. The main feature is the new riot shield added for defense against unpredictable criminals and gang members. You can find it for sale at the gun shop and on display at the pawn shop. The new shield offers significant protection from front-side gunfire. Beware though, the operator is still vulnerable to melee and flank attacks. Also, this isn't Seige and operators will have to put the shield down and equip another primary in order to return fire. Also, some new military gadgets have been added for testing purposes. These include landmines, satchel charges, and a detonator. Although players will likely use these gadgets to do more harm than good, they were added for testing new equipment for an upcoming gamemode that will be separate from the city RPG action. More news on this soon. You may find the new hardware in the guarded safe in the military base. These are off-limits, even for licensed personnel, so take them at your own risk. New items are self-explanatory, they go boom. Mines have an arming time of 2-3 seconds and satchels must be set off with a detonator.
Tons of other fixes has made it into this release. So be sure to check it out and see you in-game!

Broke Protocol is back with the Destructible update. This time around, Eden may look a bit different. That's because signs, cans, lampposts and just about all other props which have been completely impervious before, can now be destroyed. No more measly trash cans bringing your police pursuit or epic tank chase to a halt.
Along with many bug fixes, new furniture items, and tweaks, you'll notice much improved performance. Memory usage has been decreased and lots of tasks have been moved into multithreaded jobs so you'll be using more of your cores for running things smoothly. This carries over to both the client and server so 100+ player games will be more than manageable. The mayhem that comes along with that on the other hand...
Check out the full changelog for details below, and see you in-game!
Destructible world objects and props Update to Unity Engine 2018.2.1 Fewer server hitches due to optimized packet handling Fixed zoom on food and drinks Better scaled many tables and some remodeled chairs Some interiors/furniture tweaked to fix item overlaps Fixed AI stuck running or idling with weapon drawn Fixed some AI jitter when walking Fixed occasional vehicle audio missing Crosshairs now have some transparency Other players' bullets are synced more accurately Fixed and optimized AI intersection/stop handling Use multithreaded optimization for cloud and ocean updates Some prop meshes with invisible bottoms fixed
It's been a few weeks of tracking down bugs, adding new features, and testing, but The Convenience Update v0.82 is finally here! This update is all about giving players more options to handle problems they may face. So this update tackles, head-on, some annoyances that have been in the game from the beginning. With these changes in place, you'll surely encounter less pain points during gameplay, and find many convenient changes. First thing you'll notice is the availability of vending machines around the map. Hunger no more! There are 4 usable machines you'll find that offer an easy way to boost your stats. However, there are no map markers for these yet, so you'll have to do some exploring to find them all. Another addition are the consume animations/sounds that play for you and nearby players when you eat, drink, or even take drugs. The machines offer smaller snacks to choose from. But best of all, you can hover over the items to see what stats they'll boost. So you can pick the items that will best suit your current hunger, thirst and energy levels. These aren't full meals but they should hold you over until you can reach a restaurant and get more than just a bite to eat. Also now drugs will cure your addiction levels without hurting your addiction decay rate. The only downside is the ... well, the vision impairment. Also, you'll find ATMs located across the city of Eden. If you need some quick cash, it should be short jaunt to the nearest machine for a speedy withdrawal. Remember these locations as they, again, aren't marked on your map. Some servers do allow the /ATM command, but for roleplay purposes, better stick to the machines :) An ATM is appropriately placed within the bank as well. Common sense prevails! Remember that cash kept in your bank account is kept no matter if you're killed or imprisoned. So be sure to deposit quickly and deposit often. Also, a couple new vehicles made the cut into this release. These are larger utility vehicles, the first one being a Hotdog Truck. That actually sells hotdogs! It's minimal right now and the driver doesn't get a cut of profits yet but this is a first step towards player-run shops. It just offers an easy go-to food source if you or your gang is based in a hard to reach location that may be scarce on sustenance. Also, a famous RV from a popular series makes it into this update. Can't cook meth in this vehicle yet but maybe in the future. This robust transport has the ability to seat four (with shooting arcs available to the sides and rear). All that and its armor does make a good heist vehicle. So get your crew together and see if you can make bank in Eden!
P.S. You can also use the F key now to do the default action on highlighted items, no more endless mousewheeling. Check out the full changelog below, and see you in-game!

It's that time again. Please restart your Steam clients to grab the latest free upgrade. Called The Outrun Update - this update focuses on all forms of transport to make running errands (ie. getaways) a bit easier to manage. The main feature is a speedy new sports car. Feel free to kindly borrow a ride from an NPC, and take it out for a spin. You'll find increased acceleration, top speed, and traction compared to other road cars. But do take care, since drivers are more exposed to gunfire and the car won't be able to take many hits before turning into a smoldering wreck. As a bonus feature, hit the H key while driving or on-foot for a new way of alerting other players. A lot of vehicles have had their physics tuned. You'll find most cars will now have more balanced grip and suspension. Remember that Shift and Alt keys can be used as speed modifiers just like on foot. So hit that boost to give you a slight edge during a chase. Planes also have had their flight model tweaked for smoother flying. You still don't want to stall these birds, but they should be a bit more manageable. An addition to apartments allows players to grow some, erm, herbal remedies within the comfort of an apartment. Check out the Furniture menu for some new planters. These allow players to place seeds in order to harvest cannabis, opium, or coca for processing. Careful, police can still raid apartments but the rate has been slightly lowered. Still, you might want to barricade off the entrance while you're farming. You'll find a bunch of other fixes and additions to the game all over. Ability to escape handcuffs, range checks on inventory trading, new female clothing items, color correction, updated shaders, and much more. Check out the full changelog below, and see you in-game!

Another big day for Broke Protocol as the game hits the v0.80 milestone. This version is aptly named the Crimes and Clothing Update for, well... the sweeping crime changes and clothing additions :) This update comes as a result of valuable community input. And future updates will also take player feedback into account. So make sure your voice is heard on the official Discord, Facebook, and Twitter. A big focus of this update was adding a bunch of new clothing options. You can now select from sports uniforms, to military grade jumpsuits, rucksacks, and gas masks. New items can be found at the all new clothing shop. This shop is located at the Mega Mall (though more of a strip mall) marked on your map. These new wearable additions are not just cosmetic. They are part of a first pass at criminal system changes that made its way into v0.80. Your outfit at the scene of the crime is saved in your criminal history. But if you change 3 or more articles of clothing, you are effectively disguised. This will lower your wanted level and also reduce the expiration time of crimes you've disguised for. Also, you can totally roleplay Dust2 as T's. Other criminal system changes include a check for nearby witnesses before crimes are charged against players. Not all crimes require a physical witness. For example, Trespassing assumes most banks and military installations have security cameras in place. But for other crimes, you might want to make sure the coast is clear before doing your dirty deeds. If your cover is blown and you are witnessed committing a crime, you have the ability to 'dispose' of any curious onlookers. The Key Witness is logged in your Criminal History Menu and you have the option of taking them out to reduce your wanted level and hopefully get the SpecOps off your tail sooner than later. Many other small additions here to improve and fix game faults. You now have private storage in for your apartment in the form of safes and chests. Lockable furniture ensures even guests won't be able to access your goods. Also, holding a gun license won't charge you with contraband for guns and ammo if your are searched by police now. You'll also see slightly reduced law enforcement spawns, lower job penalties for crimes, and fewer interior police reinforcements. These changes are part of an effort to balance the game and make doing your job a bit easier.
Many other changes included as well, so make sure you check out the changelog and download the latest update today!
Added Clothing Shop interior at Mega Mall Location Added many new clothing items and models Most crimes now need a witness Key witness reported in crime info panel Witnesses can be killed to reduce wanted level Changing outfits can reduce wanted level (reported in crime panel) Chests and Safes in apartments are now private for the owner Guns and ammo no longer trigger a Contraband crime if they are licensed Slightly reduced crime penalties for jobs Exploding cars no longer place a crime on the last driver (flooding fix) Morphine now gives a proper reward More accurate job expiration tracking Added furry handcuffs (in durress) Saved player data now uses JSON format for easy editing and future-proofing Reduced Police/SpecOps NPC spawning Removed ticketing (too many silly exploits and abuses) Fixed some wall alignment issues in office interiors Many crimes reworded and reorganized Bombs/bazookas moved into a safe with 3-star Robbery crime if stolen Reworked map area around pizza place Parked SUV moved to the pier NPC Medics and Firemen properly can properly target again Fixed church flickering texture Optimized/fixed some airliner meshes Town Hall door texture fixed Fixed incorrect equipment order after adding/removing items Chest furniture inventory graphic fixed SpecOps added to phone call menu Cleaned up some unnecessary casting within the code SpecOps Color changed to desert color Update to Unity Engine 2018.1.5 Fixed some jittery physics Fixed occasional invisible players when apartments get cleaned up Added missing colliders to some objects and optimized others Better navmesh for AI Reduced rate of police entering interiors Fixed unable to view large inventories Fixed texture compression artifacts on some items Fixed occasional stuck ragdoll glitch Camera better matches head position during crouching Fixed house porch mesh error
