Appeal can be lowered by other world events, or raised as well, the bigger the appeal, the faster customers will decide to aim for the shop and check out its wares, the less the appeal, the slower customer traffic comes around.
***Each Decoration adds 1% Appeal, each additional item type adds 5%
  • Appeal each trash piece removes 5% appeal, trying to push a customer face to face an item with a margin he does not like will induce a 8% world save reduction to appeal, to combat this reduction you will have to sell an item to a customer face to face for a price he agrees on while having equal or more charisma than he requires, this will reduce the WORLD minus appeal by 3%***

Update 11/05/2018
As some players have asked, the % when pricing items is going to be brought back soon. It is a UI placement issue.

Original Post 10/05/2018
Hello everyone,

It has been an overwhelming week for us on the Shoppe Keep team. We've seen thousands of players enjoy the game and are very humbled by the response so far. We still have a lot of work to do and we hope that as the game continues to grow and evolve over time you will be happy to try out new features and mechanics.

This week has been focused on bug fixing, though there are a few new features and additions. Below are just a few of today's' highlights

Full Translations Added
Shoppe Keep 2 is now fully translated into Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Russian.

Browsing Customers
Increased chance to see customers who will just browse the shoppe. These customers will not buy anything, but will just like to see what you have on display.

Changes to the Hotbar
The hot bar has been given a small makeover to improve it with some polish and suggestions from the community. Here it is before the changes...

And here is the hot bar after today's update...

Bunnies!

The Hate System
The hate system is a new feature which will allow players to see the frustration of customers in-game. Hate is generated by a customer's bad experience, whether it is walking through trash, seeing an item priced too high or other factors. Pressing the L key will bring up a list of all of the interactions your customers have had with your shoppe and what kind of response that it will have on your shoppe reputation.

This will let you see how your customers react and what kind of prices they would have offered and are willing to pay. You will be able to make adjustments to your stock and then try to negate any negative reputation

A negative experiences generates much more hate than a positive experience, so the player must be able to make up to customers three fold to negate any negative opinions.

Corner furniture piece
The corner furniture piece is a testing item, it is being introduced to test the functionality of it and there may be issues with this furniture piece. We plan to include it as a fully fledged furniture piece once we've worked towards an update which introduces the family houses. So don't be surprised if in the coming weeks this furniture piece is removed.

We have added a few known issues to the "known Issues thread" which hopefully this update will address, I'll be looking at tidying that thread up tomorrow. If you want to check out the current known issues (albeit this is slightly out of date due to today's build) check the link below:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/684580/discussions/3/1696046342856455568/

And below is the most recent known issue which is still present in today's build.

Inability to stack items in container when there are ten item types already in the container
Containers currently have a known issue.
If 10 items are currently in the container, no more can be added, regardless if that item already exists in the container itself.

A way around this is to remove an item from the container and then place it back in with the additional number you wish to add.

The state of Shoppe Keep 2 in Early Access
Of course it is important to note that none of the features in the game are complete. All features are constantly in development and there will be balance changes and adjustments to many variables during the Early Access process. We are reacting to community feedback on a daily basis and many mechanics will change based upon important information that the community shares with us. We appreciate your patience and support during the development period.

Additionally, although we are testing old save data, during the Early Access period save data may have issues. If you experience any issues, please contact us at support@excalibur-games.com with your save data info. The save data can be found in the following directory:

C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Strange Fire\Shoppe Keep 2\Saves

Shoppe Keep 2 - RapheePlays

Hello Keepers!

Shoppe Keep 2 has just launched into Early Access!

We cannot wait to hear what you think of the game! Shoppe Keep 2 is an Early Access game, so you may come across some bugs or issues. If you wish to report a bug or offer a suggestion, get in touch with us by posting on the forums.

First up: just a few tips to get you started!

Take on Quests

Quests are given to you by NPCs. These allow you to unlock new items and eventually open up the gates of the town. If you find yourself stuck, talk with a few of the named NPCs.

Pay Your Taxes

The way tax currently works is that any tax you pay, you'll have that amount to spend on upgrading the town. The more taxes you pay, the faster you can level up the town and upgrade crafters. If you rack up lots of unpaid taxes, your shoppe could close too!

Listen to Your Customers

Customers will express their frustration at your prices if they are too high. Some will even tell you the amount they are willing to pay for an item. Many customers have different opinions on the worth of each item, so it is best to price your items accordingly.

Activating World Economy in the Options Menu

The world economy transmits data to the developers which will allow us to see what items are being sold the most throughout the community. It is automatically set to off, though if you’d like to turn it on, it will allow us to see more information about what players are selling the most of and begin work on balancing the game, as well as playing around with the customers' thoughts and values of an in-game item.

Cosmetic Chests and Keys
As you play through Shoppe Keep 2, some items will drop into your Steam Inventory which you'll be able to use in-game or trade with other players. These drop in a time system similar to Team Fortress 2. There's a 50/50 chance for the game to drop either a chest or a key. Opening a chest with a key will give you a random chance to unlock a cosmetic item like hair style or tattoo's. These items are completely tradable within the Steam community.

Discord
We've been using Discord over the last month to communicate issues with alpha testers and create a fun and engaging community. Myself, Arvydas (Strangefire Lead) and Tim (QA Lead) are all active on Discord. If you fancy chatting with us about the game and asking any direct questions or seeing some work in progress, you too can join the Discord. Check the link below:

Development Plans
Today’s launch of Shoppe Keep 2 in Early Access is a foundation. We want to share more information with the community on what is being worked on currently. Here is the first list.

Current Development Plans Checklist
-New Shop Architecture
-New foliage (trees and bushes) for the forest area
-Level 3 tile-set
-Reworking the container system
-12 new order-able items for level 3 town
-Four new blacksmith recipes
-Four new cook recipes
-Four new alchemy recipes
-Level 3 customers
-Upgraded furniture vendor + 2 new furniture pieces
-The ability to charge and release the bow when firing arrows
-1 more Etheral Quest
-Secret sunken chest quest
-House criers
-Twitch integration UI
-Replace stat names with icons
-Crab Vendor
-House Squalo (Fishing)
-House Jotunn (Mining)
-House Selutarr (Magic)

ONCE this list is complete and live, we will share a new list that reflects on the current state of the game and community wishes/suggestions. This is the planned process for the rest of development.

Below is just a little more information on some of the parts mentioned on the list above:

First up we’ll share information on some visual upgrades which will include new shop architecture, new trees and vegetation for the forest area and a new level tier for the town itself. We’ll also be creating additional content for players which will include new quests as well as new items to order and craft. We also intend to upgrade the furniture vendor and provide him with two more furniture types to sell.

One of the intended fixes already in progress is to adjust how containers work so that they are more useful in both single player and multiplayer.

And finally, the biggest feature currently in development is that we will be introducing family houses that will control various businesses on the island. There will be a series of quest chains which will please and displease each house and with it a series of buffs and debuffs for your shoppe. Additionally, the houses will unlock new business ventures such as a fishing boat, mining shafts and bee keeping fields.

In the coming weeks and months we'll be sharing more details via screenshots and video. Stay tuned!

During the development period we will also be fixing bugs and taking on board community suggestions once we see the first wave of feedback from players.

Shoppe Keep 1 and Craft Keep VR Legacy Items
When we shared details of the rewards that players will receive if they owned Shoppe Keep 1 or Craft Keep VR, we wasn't sure whether we would be able to put them into the build for release. We can now confirm that these rewards will be live today and you'll be able to claim them when you load up your game world for the first time!

Players who own Shoppe Keep 1 will receive the Keepsake hat:

And owners of Craft Keep VR will receive the Cavallo Visor:

Digital Deluxe Edition
We also have the Digital Deluxe Edition which contains a gorgeous 32-page, full colour art book, along with the soundtrack (both of which can be purchased separately if you wanted). As the game is in Early Access, so too are both of these as we add more pages and tracks

Deluxe Edition
https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/6988/Shoppe_Keep_2_Deluxe_Edition/

Deluxe Edition Upgrade
https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/6989/Shoppe_Keep_2_Upgrade_Edition_OST__Digital_Art_Book/

For newcomers to the Shoppe Keep franchise who want the additional items, the most cost-effective option will of course be to go for the Shoppe Keep 2 Digital Deluxe Edition.

For those of you Shoppe Keep veterans, who have played the original Shoppe Keep, and/or Craft Keep VR, you should have received a Steam discount voucher for the base game at launch. The most cost-effective option for you would be to purchase the Standard Edition of the game with your discount voucher, and to then buy the Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade – which will also be seeing a launch week discount.

Known Issues in Early Access
And finally, with the title being in Early Access, of course we will have a few bugs and issues. In case you can let us know of any issues, we have created the Bug Etiquette thread which helps us to distinguish the severity of many bugs. Check it out below:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/684580/discussions/3/1696045708643214398/

Additionally, we have created a special post which highlights any major bugs which players should be aware about. In today’s launch build we have just a couple that players should be aware of and the workaround which players can use while we fix the issues.

Setting up Server With the "Friends" Option
When you choose to set up your game for online multiplayer you can select "public" "friends" or "private".

Currently when selecting friends as your multiplayer set up, you are unable to invite friends into your game. We are addressing this issue ASAP.

Current Workaround: Meanwhile, we suggest that you set up an online game with "private" or "public" as you can invite friends into your game with this setting.

Container Chests in Online Multiplayer
When playing online multiplayer, the host can use chests as intended. However, those who have joined the host's game and use a container to store items may see that their items won't be placed in the container.

The host is able to use the container as normal, but the client may only be able to take out items of the container.

We believe this may be an issue caused from slow connection speeds. But we are looking to address this issue as soon as we can.

Current Workaround: If you are a client, do not input items into the containers. Instead drop them for the host to pick up, and then place the items inside containers instead.

And that's all for now! Thank you for joining us on this journey, and we cannot wait to see where Shoppe Keep 2 goes!

Thanks,
The Shoppe Keep Team

Hello everyone,

We’re now just two days away from the Early Access launch of Shoppe Keep 2! In the meantime, we’ve been cooking up something a bit special for those of you who want to dive even deeper into the world of Customerania.

We’re excited to present the Shoppe Keep 2 Digital Deluxe Edition!

Shoppe Keep 2 Digital Deluxe Edition includes:

• Shoppe Keep 2 Game
• Shoppe Keep 2 Digital PDF Art Book – Come along for the journey, as the artists at Strangefire take you from the conceptual stages to final art assets, in this full-colour 32-page art book. From architecture, to items and creatures, the book delves into various aspects of the game's creation.
• Shoppe Keep 2 Digital OST – Take the weird and wonderful world of Customerania with you, as you listen to Shoppe Keep 2’s official soundtrack. Six tracks of music.

Shoppe Keep 2 is an Early Access title, and so is the Digital Deluxe Edition. As the game progresses and updates throughout Early Access, new music will be added to the soundtrack, and new chapters added to the art book at no additional cost.

We wanted to make this Digital Deluxe Edition content as accessible as possible, so we will be launching this Thursday, 3rd May, with the following purchase options:

- Shoppe Keep 2 Standard Edition
- Shoppe Keep 2 Digital Deluxe Edition (Shoppe Keep 2 Game + OST + Art Book)
- Shoppe Keep 2 Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade (OST + Art Book)

For newcomers to the Shoppe Keep franchise who want the additional items, the most cost-effective option will of course be to go for the Shoppe Keep 2 Digital Deluxe Edition.

For those of you Shoppe Keep veterans, who have played the original Shoppe Keep, and/or Craft Keep VR, you will be receiving a Steam discount voucher for the base game at launch. The most cost-effective option for you would be to purchase the Standard Edition of the game with your discount voucher, and to then buy the Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade – which will also be seeing a launch week discount.

And that’s all we have for this update. We look forward to seeing you all this Thursday, 3rd May, at 9AM PDT/5PM BST, when Shoppe Keep 2 opens its doors and welcomes you all into the world of Customerania. We thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm!

Shoppe Keep 2 - RapheePlays
Hello everyone,

We have an important update to share with you all. Shoppe Keep 2 will now launch on 3rd May 2018 at 9AM PDT/5PM BST.

Unfortunately, we will not be releasing the game later today as planned. We’ve encountered an issue with multiplayer that needs to be fixed before release. While we have been extensively testing Shoppe Keep 2 for months, both internally and externally, this managed to slip through the cracks.

We are very sorry that this has happened. As a developer, you get one shot to launch your game. There is an unprecedented amount of games being released every day on Steam and we want to launch with the best version possible of Shoppe Keep 2.

There are many games with an online focus that launch nowadays with major issues and game-breaking bugs. Rather than to launch something and then fix it, we prefer to fix things and then launch them.

We understand that there are many of you who have been following us for weeks or even months and this is of course disappointing. We are truly sorry that we have had to delay the game, and we are as disappointed as you are.
Please know that Shoppe Keep 2’s Early Access launch will be much smoother thanks to this short delay.

Of course, as mentioned previously, there will also be special discount vouchers dropping into the Steam inboxes for owners of the original Shoppe Keep, and Craft Keep VR. In addition, we will be adding a special in-game item for if you own the original Shoppe Keep and/or Craft Keep VR as a loyalty reward.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding. Once again, we apologise profusely for the delay. We look forward to opening Shoppe and welcoming you all into Customerania next week, on 3rd May.

Thank you,

The Shoppe Keep 2 Team
Shoppe Keep 2 - RapheePlays

Hello Everyone,

We are just six days away from Shoppe Keep 2's Early Access release. To tide you over until 26th April, we have released the launch trailer. There are a few features highlighted in the trailer that you may not have seen previously!

It's tough to show everything off in 90 seconds, but we did our very best. Watch the trailer below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbQBHD5hPjk&feature=youtu.be

Additionally, we wanted to share details on the MAC and Linux versions of Shoppe Keep 2. While this is something we were planning to have at launch, we feel that we would be best to focus our time in making sure the PC version works as best as it can.

However, within the next months we may begin testing these OS' and will need some assistance. if you are a PC owner with a MAC/Linux OS, it might be that we will begin testing on those formats with a small group to make sure we release the best version for each format. If you have multiple Operating Systems, contact us at support@excalibur-publishing.com and we may invite you into a private MAC/Linux Branch to test the compatibility.

We also wanted to share some details on the discount for owners of Shoppe Keep 1. Those who purchased Shoppe Keep 1 and have it in their library will receive a coupon on the launch date of Shoppe Keep 2. Look out for it in your Steam Inventory!

Not long to wait now! Remember to add the game to your Steam wishlist to be kept up to date with the development. We'll see you all in Customerania on 26th April!
