1) Fixed a bug which caused passengers to ride outside the bus in some cases; 2) Fixed the rearview mirror in a soviet bus; 3) Fixed some buildings in Serpukhov.
Now you can see pedestrians which are walking to their job or just strolling. They can cross the road at junctions and pedestrian crossings. This update affected not only the feeling of the city, but also gameplay.
1) Usually traffic cars let pedestrians cross the road. Thus, you'll have to pay attention to crossroads in order not to crash into a car ahead or pedestrian crossing the road. 2) Now you'll have to choose your speed more carefully as pedestrians also affect the traffic. 3) Pedestrians do not cross the road if they see that pedestrian traffic light is red. Also, they won't cross the road if they see that it's going to become red soon.
People models optimization
Every model of people (about 40) were redone and optimized to reduce GPU resources consumption. Moreover, it was a necessary step to implement pedestrians system. Also, their animation was changed. Now they move a lot more while sitting, which makes them look like real people.
Soviet bus remastered
In-game model of one of the buses was remade from scratch. Moreover, now there are more upgrades like adding/removing rear door, installing tachometer and even restyling. You can choose your favourite look by yourself.
Ability to capture screenshots without any additional programs
Now you are able to capture screenshots in native (Page Down) and double (PrintScreen) resolution. So you don't need any software for making screenshots anymore.
Other changes:
Fixed a texture on Soviet Legend
Buildings and objects optimized on both maps
Changed vegetation, fences and some small objects on both maps
Optimized some scripts
Minor localization fixes
Fixed several places where cars could drive off the road on Serpukhov map
As many know, it’s been a long time since we announced adding pedestrians to the cities. Initially we wanted to just make them walk on pavement so that the city will not look empty. Then we decided it was not exactly what we wanted and we started working on pedestrians who can also cross the crosswalks. However, this update affects not only the feeling of the city, but the following factors as well:
1) Other cars should stop before the pedestrian crossing while there are people crossing the road. Bus driver should always pay attention in order not to crash into a braking car or not to hit a man.
2) Pedestrians can affect the whole traffic so old schedule could not fit now.
3) We are also correcting the traffic lights as pedestrians need some time to cross the road. People should wait until the traffic light turns green and they should stop if they see that they won’t cross the road before it turns red again.
Nevertheless, there were some technical difficulties:
1) The game now has even more objects with their own behavior, and that caused an additional usage of hardware resources.
2) Initially, the map was not intended to be used with pedestrians as there were other tasks back in the day. Pavements were using the same structure as roads. Sometimes, even Terrain object was used as pavement and somewhere there were fences, poles and other objects which were preventing pedestrians from walking normally.
Generally, a simple feature became a complex system for which we had to do some refactoring and consider a big number of issues that could occur. That’s why release was delayed. Now we’re testing the update which means that the big update is going to be released soon.
P.S. By the way, you can see the new version of a Soviet bus on the screenshots.
As many know, we have been working on improving many game aspects in order to make a modern product of high quality. Now it's time to change the Main Menu. We decided to make some structural changes, so that it's easier to navigate in menu. For example, Tutorial will be in separate menu instead of being one of scenarios, because novices can start playing without even playing the Tutorial just because they didn't notice it. Also, there will be "Cancel" button in settings, so you won't have to press "Apply" and wait even it you didn't change anything. Below are some screenshots of current menu version. Although, work in progress.
Well, friends. We have been working on that for a long time, but it was a strict secret until now. But now we are pleased to announce our new game which will be the continuation of Bus Driver Simulator 2019. The time has come to introduce Bus Driver Simulator 2077! We decided to look into far future to think about the appearance of public transport (and buses in particular) in 2077, for example. Some interesting concepts inspired us to choose the setting for the whole game. Unfortunately, we can't show screenshots from the test build right now, because it's in the very early stage of development. As you can see, even the logo is not finished. We can't announce the accurate date when we will reveal some screenshots. Date of release in Early Access is also unknown for now. Anyway, stay tuned!
Our modeler is working on a new little and fast bus! We are still adding various buses requested by our players. The new European minibus will be available as a DLC approximately in a month. Until then, we are working on finishing the update that will optimize passengers and environment. Also, pedestrians will be walking on the streets of both cities soon!
This classic russian bus was a bus with the model of the lowest quality after big graphics updates which were released in the last year. You’ve been asking us to do this for a long time, and finally we’re working on remastering it! Improved appearance is not the only upgrade though. Also, it will be optimized to consume up to 2 times less system resources!
As is known, we haven’t changed our roadmap, but it became necessary after big updates. Also, we have slightly changed sequence and priorities of some tasks. That’s why some updates were postponed to a later date and others are expected to be released sooner.
Several patches have been released for the game recently.
Recent improvements:
- New mini map is now available in VR Mode. - Fixed bug causing no fine for running a red light in Serpukhov. - Now there’s almost no chance of meeting Russian car in Cologne, while you still can meet European cars in Serpukhov. - Fixed some traffic trajectories in Cologne. - Now you won’t get a fine if another car crashes into you and it’s not your fault. - Added fines for crashing into static cars in Cologne - Removed some unnecessary floating objects in Cologne, some traffic lights parts realigned. - Further Cologne optimization. - Fixed traffic cars behavior on Krupskaya stop in Serpukhov. - Fixed passenger seats in modern Russian bus. - Fixed collisions on some buses. - Slightly changed wheel physics of traffic cars. - Slightly changes sizes of traffic cars. - Changed collisions with traffic cars. - Fixed Skin Menu. - Fixed Control Settings menu in Tutorial. - Removed collisions for tree branches in Cologne. - Added Steering wheel cover for Soviet Legend.
