Today's update brings adjustments to city names and icons on the map, and fixes a few bugs in the game.
The backgrounds for city names and icons on the maps are more transparent and were resized to be less of a distraction.
Among the bugs that got fixed with the release was an issue that made the AI downgrade the relations with members of its coalition when taking over for an inactive player. Now the AI will never downgrade relations with coalition members.

The long wait is over! Finally the brand new CoW 2.0 map textures are here! We have redesigned all of the terrains in Call of War. With this rework we want to give you the feeling of commanding your troops through realistic terrain, drawing inspiration from military maps of the time. Whether you fight an infantry melee in the mountains, bombard an enemy strongpoint with artillery or plan an ambush from a forest hideout, the new textures will make it look more spectacular than ever before.
The army details window also features new artwork. The artwork will change depending on the unit composition of the army. Make sure to schedule an inspection of your armies and check out their new, improved looks! We’ve also improved the options in the map filter menu. You can now toggle unit sprites and labels on and off. This will allow you to customize your map view to your preferences. Additionally we’ve added filter options to only show friendly units, neutral units, hostile units or even a mix of all those options. These changes give you more clarity on the tactical situation while leading your troops into battle.
We’ve also fixed a lot of bugs! When a coalition leader goes inactive, the coalition leadership is now correctly handed over to the next active player. Players will no longer be able to teleport their planes from a patrol mission directly back to the airfield, as teleportation technology is not yet available. Additionally we’ve fixed multiple issues that caused units to display the wrong arrival time in the army bar.

In this event you will not know friends nor family: In a 100p map with the ‘anonymous round’ feature enabled and no coalitions you will be pitted against 99 other players in a struggle for survival.
The event maps will start immediately after their creation with random country selection enabled and will run at normal speed. Players are flagged as inactive after 2 days. There is also an AI & human player peace period of 1 real-life day. Additional option this time: 6 week time-box. The game will end after 6 weeks, the player with the highest victory points wins and receives a large gold prize.

Today’s update contains quality of life changes and plenty of bug fixes, so let’s get right into it! After listening to the community’s feedback we have updated the rare materials icon to something more fitting the World War Two setting of Call of War. We’ve also changed the Doctrine overview window to avoid confusing situations for newer players. The window will now display all doctrines, even if some of them are not available on the current map.
Ships have been misbehaving lately, taking sightseeing trips around the world when issued a move order. As of this update they will stick to their element, and always take the shortest route to their destination. Additionally we fixed a bug that caused units to get teleported and stuck in random locations on the map. As always, these are just some of the changes we made. Last week we added the new Inventory system to a wider range of our players. This new system is currently in a test phase, and only accessible for a limited, randomly selected number of players. Booster Cards will replace functions that you can currently access with Gold, but they are more customizable and will let us expand on their functionalities in the future. Booster Cards can be activated to gain resources specific to the card. The Boosters will allow cunning players to get exactly the resources needed for every game situation, and provide a better deal than spending gold for the same resources. With foresight and planning, boosters provide excellent value! There’s also exciting news about the delayed CoW 2.0 map visuals. Starting tomorrow the new map visuals will be available to Frontline Pioneers. Start a new Beta-Game to get a look at the upcoming rework, and share your feedback and suggestions with us on Discord!
We also squashed some bugs. We fixed an issue where rewarded ads didn’t pay out correctly, and starting a construction projection from the missing requirements popup window now works as intended. Additionally we fixed wrong confirmation messages being displayed when rejecting trades from other players.
