it has already been some days since WebGL has become available for everyone in Call of War. Now we would like to share some YouTube content with you, produced by two players who were invited by us to an internal tournament with game designers and developers. The purpose was to intensively test the new engine with us on our Beta servers and record the battle heat into some awesome YouTube content.
As the tournament has ended now, we would like to share their experiences and videos with you. A big thank you to everyone participating in this game and do not forget to check out their channels:
a new technology, which will revolutionize how you fight your battles in Call of War, is approaching. What is this modern technology you may ask. We are talking about WebGL. A state-of-the-art rendering technology which allows us to work with very fine graphical details on the map as well as provide a better performance. In the following gif you will get a first impression of what WebGL can do, but keep in mind this is not the final version, which means even more improvements are to come.
As you can see scrolling the map becomes more smooth and easy. We are also able to give the map and therefore the whole game a more realistic appearance by adding movement to the water, for example.

WebGL will be testable on beta games before we have our official release to make sure that everything works smoothly.

today we are happy to present to you the upcoming balancing changes, which will be on beta upcoming Wednesday, August 15. After a two week test phase the changes will go live on August 28. We collected a lot of feedback including what we read in the forums and on other platforms and we felt the need to make some change to provide a balanced and interesting game experience. Please keep in mind that these changes will then also affect running games. If you have beta status you will be able to test the changes in frontline pioneer games after the beta release. Feel free to give us feedback in the forums, adjustments can still be made if necessary.
it is time for another challenge. However, you won't be alone in this upcoming fight. 150 strong men and women will unite and fight for you in this week’s event Arms Race. Five light tanks, four medium tanks, three artillery units, two mechanized infantries, two anti-tank units, one commando and one anti-air unit will be stationed in all urban provinces protecting your already fully upgraded buildings, ready to receive orders. In all non-urban provinces you will find three infantry units.

the time has come for another speed round event! Cancel all your plans and prepare for some short nights and long fights during the next 14 days. If no player or coalition has achieved a regular victory by that time, the player with the most victory points is declared winner. The end time is displayed in the game information within the newspaper and as a countdown on the right side of the screen.

If you want to participate in this event simply go to the game list: Within the sign-up period (2018/07/20, 11 AM CEST - 2018/07/23, 11 AM CEST) new event rounds will be created on demand and shown on top of the list of new games. As soon as the map has started you will receive a notification to your inbox.
We are excited to announce that starting today Call of War will be available in Turkish language. If you want to change your language, simply click on the flag in the top right and pick the language of your choosing. Don’t worry, the games you have already joined in another language will still be available in your games list and also stay in the language you joined it from. You can change back your language settings at any time.

The achievement reward system is finally live! Check out your profile, collect your rewards and enjoy the profile rework improvements that came alongside other changes and fixes. More details about the achievement reward system can be found in the news post from last week. Please keep in mind that it may take a few minutes until an achievement will be marked as completed.

Profile rework improvements:
We implemented a button in the top middle of your profile which allows you to switch between human and AI for your killed and lost unit statistics.
Clicking near the the score and ranking in the profile will open the ranking of that player, this can also be used in your own profile.
The arrow to show individual unit statistics will now open the information for all units at the same time, which allows you to get a better overview and compare their statics more easily.
Global popularity is now again shown in the ingame profile for Elite-AI rounds.
Additional changes and improvements:
You are now able to find the map-specific winning reward for your game round in the newspaper.
The ‘report player’ button is also available for anonymous rounds.
In the research menu as well as the production menu you will now find Anti Air, Artillery and Anti Tank units in the Infantry tab. Mechanized Infantry can be found in the Armor tab. These units now count towards their new category for certain achievements.
The small icon next to each unit on the map will always display their current armor class. This was not always the case. Previously it was showing the easiest target class for some units.
‘Earn Premium Currency’ options (also called ‘Offer Wall’) have been deactivated.
The newspaper filter for politics and economics works properly again.
Level 2+ damaged buildings with upkeep could not be disabled in the building description. This has been fixed.
Users that are invited to an alliance should now be able to see a message instead of the default alliance text.
Mobile:
Anonymous rounds do not show player details anymore.
The report form has been fixed.
You can now also compare your profile with other players.
Users were not able to trade less than 5,000 resources, we fixed this problem.
Gold rounds falsely showed 0 Gold entry fee, this has been fixed.

With next week’s update we are happy to announce a new feature which will change the way you engage with Call of War: achievement rewards! As soon as the update is live you will be able to collect Gold rewards for completing any of the over 40 achievements you did not complete so far. We also rebalanced the existing achievements and lowered the requirements for certain levels (some of them have never been unlocked by any player). This also means that some players will automatically gain certain achievement levels with the update which they didn’t reach before. Rewards can not only be collected for achievement levels gained after the update, but also for any that have been completed since April 1. Additionally we added 2 new achievements. The Fly Swatter (kill 25/150/1000 units with anti-air) and Artillery Aficionado (kill 100/500/2500 units with artillery).

In addition, next week’s update will bring another change: Some of you may be familiar with the 'Earn Premium Currency’' tab in our shop and maybe have also used it. However, we often received complaints that those offers didn’t work as intended. Sadly, we also didn’t have control over the kind of offers that were displayed and were therefore limited in resolving offer-related problems. We discussed the option to remove the offers many times, but our investigation showed that there were still quite many successfully completed offers and gave several people the opportunity to receive some gold. Now the day has finally arrived to say goodbye to those gold offers. We are currently exploring better ways to allow players to earn free Gold in the future.
We hope you are as excited about the achievement feature as we are and won’t miss the Earn Gold offers too much while reaping those rewards.
In this event you will not know friends nor family: In a 100p map with the ‘anonymous round’ feature enabled and no coalitions you will be pitted against 99 other players in a struggle for survival.
The event maps will have the starts-when-full option and random country selection enabled and will run at normal speed. Players are flagged as inactive after 2 days. There is also an AI & human player peace period of 1 real-life day. We also enabled the Elite AI but will not charge any entry fee for this exclusive event. Please note that this event will also have a fixed runtime of 6 weeks: If no winner is determined before time is up, the player with the highest total of victory points wins and receives a generous gold prize.
