Academia : School Simulator - ryan.sumo


Hey everyone we have another early update today, adding zone merging! This was a very popular early request from you guys and we're happy to be able to add it to the game.

HOWEVER! Zone merging will BREAK YOUR OLD SAVE GAMES! This is an unfortunate but inevitable occurence in Early Access. To ease you into it, we have added the latest build of the game into a separate branch called candidate. You will have to access the candidate branch in
order to play this build. Once we are satisfied that all is working well and everyone has had fair warning about their saves being broken, we will make this the main build of the game.

To access the Candidate Branch on Steam, follow these isntructions:

1) Go to your game library and right click on Academia School Simulator
2) In the pop up window, find and click on Properties.
3) In the properties window, click on the Betas Tab
4) Under Enter beta access code to unlock private betas type : academiacandidate
5) Click on "check code"
6) Under "Select the beta you would like to opt into" click on the dropdown menu and click on "candidate"
7) You should now have access to the latest candidate build

New Floors and Fence plus Routing UX

In addition to zone merging, we have a few more updates:



Janitor routing needed a little bit more feedback so you could tell which janitors are assigned to which route, so we added some connecting lines to show that.



We've also added the marble, granite, and paver floors for you to spruce up your school, as well as a fence to enclose your school!

Hi folks, this update features Routing! Routing allows you to define areas where your staff should focus on, ideally making them more efficient. Routing took some time to finish but will be very useful in future updates, including security staff than can patrol the halls for delinquent students.

We apologize if this update isn't quite as meaty as you might have hoped. We are actively looking to hire staff locally (IRL, not in the game!) to help Marnel program the game and get more updates and features out to you much faster.

Features:

- Janitor Routing - players can now set the routes janitors will take. Janitor routing can be accessed through the routing button, and selecting janitor routing. Janitors will follow the path, and clean dirt and trash within their range of vision. Here is a quick explanation of how it works:

Creating Routes - There are two kinds of routes, U-turn:



and Circuit:




Completing a route - To complete a route either click on the complete route button or click on either the FIRST or LAST waypoint to create either a circuit or a U-turn route, based on context.

Bugs Fixed:

- Checkbox should not appear for mods which have not yet been downloaded. (fixed by having a checkbox only appear once the mod is downloaded)

- Zone edit no longer highlight zone colors. (fixed by having zones highlight in their colors when in zone edit mod)
- Student still come after starting a new game(transferees). (fixed by not applying settings in transferees panel from a previous game)
- Firing a worker before they build an object and no worker will take over the task. (fixed by having a new worked assigned to the task)
- Staff move behind mounted clocks. (fixed by having staff rendered above mounted clocks)


Miscellaneous:

- Day/Night Cycle - The screen will now get darker as time progresses into the later parts of the day.
- Added Double doors
- More women special teachers!
- Common Area - The club zone is now called the common area.
- Update button for subscribed mods - Subscribed mods will have an update button if there are any updates to the mod.

Important: If you have made a mod that changed the characters in the game, please update your mod to include the new teachers in the characters.png file.

We're excited to announce that Steam Workship is now available for Academia : School Simulator! For now, the only thing you guys can mod is the image files, but we aim to add more modding options in the future, including language localization. We've already uploaded a couple of basic mods for you to try out, and we're really excited to see what you guys create in the future!

Due to the recent updates, some have reported that they can no longer load their save files. This hotfix is going to address this. A critical bug was also fixed where characters are stuck in "Waiting for spot to urinate".

Hey Everyone, Build 42 is now live and ready to download! This month we've focused heavily on bugfixing to make a better experience for you guys, so there's not so many new features in the game. In October we will be focusing on fixing a couple more bugs as well as adding some modding tools!

Features:
- Updated BGM (this is for youtbers mostly, you will no longer have any royalty/copyright issues related to the soundtrack)
- Cooks will now collect all dirty dishes at a table before moving on to the next table
- Students will now more efficiently pick out places to sit in the cafeteria
- Buildings/Objects cannot be built if it will reduce funds to less than 0


Bugs Fixed:

- Save games duplicated when saving with the same file name
- Selecting a zone from the zones tab does not display details panel sometimes
(selecting a zone should now always display the details panel)
- Trash cans facing north or south flip to opposite direction when full
(Trash cans will no longer flip the other way when they are full)
- Firing a cook while they are washing dishes will leave the sink on, and unusable by other cooks
(other cooks will now take over at the sink)
- Game runs at normal speed even if 3x speed is selected
(the selected speed should now match the speed of the game)
- Students do not advance in year level in overall student info panel
(this information should now be reflected immediately without having to restart the game)
- Enclosed workers ordered to build a door will wait for other workers to build the door instead of build the door themselves
(trapped workers will now build a door instead of waiting)
- Unable to build/place objects after a previous object in a tile is demolished
- Objects mounted on a wall remain even when the wall it is attached to is demolished
(wall mounted objects shuld now disappear along with the wall)
- Fixed issue where Layout functions are unuseable after erasing wall layout
- Zone info requirements don't fit into selection details panel
(panel has been expanded to accomodate info)
- Fixed issue where if a layout drawn in a border tile is erased, the red overlay gets stuck on clicked tile,
and all building options become unuseable.
- Pressing 'Z' should now open build menu
- Removed quarter(Q) time counter in upper panel.
- Only zones enclosed by walls are considered indoors. Every zone should be enclosed by walls. (Fixed by allowing multiple zones inside a big indoor area)
