Alongside DESOLATE’s full PC release, the final chapter in the game’s story mode, Act 3, will become available. Experience the conclusion to the story of The New Light - discover the reason behind their mission on Granichny, and witness the conclusion of the Volunteer’s story.
As DESOLATE will leave the Early Access stage it will get an updated global price of $25. So if you were considering getting the game, an upcoming Winter Steam Sale will be the best chance to get it with the lowest price.
A live-action trailer for DESOLATE is also in the works, set to release alongside the game’s exit out of Early Access on January 17th. Its haunting atmosphere and chilling visuals will give newcomers a taste of what to expect during their time on Granichny. Check out the Teaser to get an early look.
After launching on Steam Early Access back in February of 2018, we have been hard at work, adding new content and features, as well as fixing balance and performance issues.

A new update featuring improved enemy AI, gameplay changes and bug fixes has officially been released.
Changes and Additions
AI Improvements - along with new animations for most of the enemies. These changes and additions along with combat improvements will make every battle feel more dynamic.
Third hit in a combo now costs 50% more stamina
The Dorg enemy now reacts physically to player’s attacks.
Vanoga’s health points are now increased.
Improved logic of player movement after sliding - if you hold the Sprint button after the Slide, player’s movement will change to Sprint; if not - the player will be in the Crouch position after the Slide.
Fixes
While playing in co-op there may be problems in displaying enemies’ weapons - fixed.
Dorg’s attack or QTE pushed the player far away - fixed.
Enemies’ head had graphical issues while discovering the player - fixed.
Issues with displaying Revive UI elements in co-op - fixed.
Issues with elemental attacks, where you hit an enemy with a modded weapon and cause the element to proc, every hit with a non-element weapon will re-stack the element - fixed.
If during a stealth attack player continues to hold movement button, the player will run in stealth mode - fixed.
Blocked attacks cause stamina to decrease at the start of movement - fixed.
Sounds issues in “Maniac” quest - fixed.
Sounds for the Demolition Man work correctly in multiplayer and are synchronized with his actions now.
The new Patch is already out, with the New Combat System and additional Madman improvements included!

New Combat System — combat perks are now available, along with Combo Attacks! (for example, two light attacks + one strong will do a spin attack) Also, new attack animations included.
We’ve included new animations for Madman before the scheduled release of December 14 - and we’d love to hear your feedback about it!
New combat sounds:
— New melee weapon swing sounds изменены эффекты «свиста оружия»; — Sounds for new attacks, included in the improved Combat System ; — Improved sounds for Madmen; — Improved sounds for bladed weapons ; — Overall combat sound improvements;
New sounds for UI actions like: Leveling Up, getting a Quest, discovering a new Location, NPC Rank up, etc
Other sound changes:
— increased distance of audible steps, with their volume decreased — Added a specific sound for falling from a high spot — distance of Hunter’s ambient sound increased — volume and distance of Molotov Cocktail sound optimized
Visual changes to “purple” mods - they now have an additional element (for example - fire + electricity)
Healing from the “Heart” artefact was increased to 3% per minute. Also, the effects from two “Heart” artefacts stack. If the auto-heal is on, they’ll also stack with it.
UI changes, related to “purple” mods redesign.
In co-op, enemies are now 40% more powerful - this decision was made based on player’s increased combat ability included in this update.

While running with a gun equipped with no enemies alerted, you couldn’t hear footsteps - Fixed.

P.S. This is not the last patch in this direction, we are aware of some problems, so a hotfix will be released in the next couple of days.
The new patch is up. This patch includes a fully changed leveling system (with some new gameplay elements added to it), revised (and more user-friendly) difficulty levels, as well as continued work on optimization and bug fixes. You can read the list of changes below.
New features and changes
Big update to the current leveling system, which includes new perks and character abilities. The experience already gained will be re-calculated in accordance with the new system - so you’ll have to re-allocate your points in the Perk menu screen. Please note: active combat abilities are going to be added to the game with the next patch.
Second global optimization update targeted at increasing general stability and increasing average FPS count for the game.
Difficulty rework - added an automatic healing for the easy and medium difficulty settings. Amount of enemy HP now scales according to the amount of players on the server.
Added new Tutorial articles to explain some of the new features introduced in the update.
New visual and sound effects upon completing Quests and getting a Level Up.
Artifact “Heart” regenerates less HP due to difficulty rework and adding automatic health regeneration.
The mechanic of getting perk points from NPCs got reworked. Now the points are being granted every five ranks instead of every rank.

Sometimes players were unable to see a card in Zalegorsk - fixed.
A creature would sometimes not spawn on the hunting quests - fixe4.
Intendant still wouldn’t spawn in the Movie Theater - fixed.

Wanogah quest marker pointing to the wrong location - fixed.
The Weather Report quest marker pointing to the roof of the Weather Station - fixed.
The movie theater intendant not being on his place (could possibly be located one floor lower) - fixed.
Players were able to skip the Biolgost's dialogue before coming downstairs to the Butcher, which caused a Quest not to register his death correctly - fixed by increasing dialogue's active area.

Revamped combat system intends to make fighting more engaging, responsive and fun. Active combat abilities will also be added to the Skill Tree!
Update 3 - Enemy AI Revision // December 14
Changes and improvements to enemy AI aim to deliver more polished and compelling gameplay. Some of the enemies also gain new attacks and abilities - so watch out, Granichny is more unpredictable than ever!
