Welcome to My Time at Portia! This wholesome post-apocalyptic crafting RPG and life sim is now 66% off during the Team17 Publisher Sale until May 17th!
Build your workshop, run your own farm, explore the world and battle awesome monsters! A bustling community is waiting for you in Portia! One of Portia and Sandrock’s best engineers, Mint, is waiting for you to help improve the beautiful oceanside port town. He is trying to make the town better, but word of your building prowess and productivity has reached him and he trusts your work. Ah, almost forgot to mention it, but Mint likes sleeping, so he takes frequent naps. You may need to...wait for a while until he wakes up… But after he’s up again, he’s happy for a chat or a meal at the Round Table.
Mint’s engineering skills are high in demand, leading him to travel to different Free Cities in the Alliance. Meet him in My Time at Sandrock as well, and If you get closer to him, who knows what might happen…? https://store.steampowered.com/app/1084600/My_Time_at_Sandrock/ If you want to learn more about Portia's sequel, My Time at Sandrock, join our{LINK REMOVED} Discord!
Today is a day where awareness for our planet’s health and ecosystems is raised.
In the My Time universe, the world had already been brought to ruin and much culture and technological advancement were lost. Thanks to Peach using a powerful machine to dispel the deep clouds and bringing back the sun, the world has restored itself to a point where nature has overtaken pre-Calamity cities, and civilization can carefully rebuild. Now, those in the small city-state of Sandrock must attempt to not only survive, but thrive in the hot Eufaula Desert, where water is at a premium and sandstorms threaten to destroy the town.
This is not unlike the struggles of some civilizations throughout real-world history. In the fall of 2020, we undertook a research trip to the Gobi Desert to get to the nitty-gritty of what life in the desert is like. We dug around and spoke with the locals, learning about the spreading of the deserts and how this process is threatening the surrounding ecosystems and nearby communities. We also learned that through innovation and hard work the deserts they can be cultivated to become fertile land once again. But as with life in Sandrock, this cannot happen without water.
Water. Necessary for life and necessary for keeping your machines cool. Without it, crops wither away and your workshop machines cannot function. However, less than 1% of the real world’s water is fresh water and Sandrock has severely limited access to fresh water, meaning that water conservation in both worlds is key to thriving.
Through Sandrock, we want to spread awareness of the importance of saving water. Limiting water usage, such as turning the faucet off while washing your hands, taking shorter showers, growing native, plants and lawns with lower water consumption and eating less meat, can go a long way towards conserving water in real life, which means communities will have more water for when and where it’s truly needed.
We are happy to share with you the Sandrock resource management tutorial in our next livestreaming on
May 7th, 5pm, PDT/May 7th, 8pm, EDT/ May 8th, 1am, UTC+1
Also, we’re having another giveaway. Follow us on Instagram and comment “save water” on this post and you might become a lucky winner of 2x steam gift cards!
We only have one earth, so let’s make a difference together!
Due to some issues regarding the ownership of the name Sandrock, we are now happy to announce that My Time at Sandrock, will from now on be called “My Time at Rocksand.”
Not long ago we discovered that the name Sandrock is already owned and copyrighted in the EU. We have asked the owner of the name for the rights to use it, but we have failed to reach an agreement. Since we can no longer use Sandrock in the EU, we have decided to change the name worldwide to be consistent and to avoid confusion.
The dispute started a few weeks ago with the Italian artist Alessandro Ulcigrai, also known as “Sandrock” who laid claim to the name back in 2006. He said the name is essential to his brand identity and that he has put a lot of work and effort into his art.
You can see some of his work in thisLINK or THIS LINK
As game designers we fully understand the value of protecting your art and we respect Alessandro’s decision to keep the name.
We hope that you, our beloved players will respect this as well and we are looking forward to you all joining together with our upcoming game “My Time at Rocksand.”
The time has finally come for the Portia’s sequel, My Time at Sandrock livestream. It will be hosted on March 28, 2021, 5 pm PST (GMT-7) / March 28, 2 am CET (GMT+1) / March 28, 8 am Beijing time (GMT+8).
The stream will showcase the upgraded combat system of My Time at Sandrock, including experimental features that aren’t even in the beta yet. The stream will once again be hosted on Youtube, Twitch, and Steam.
Sandrock now features multiple new weapon options, including more ranged weapon types. We have also implemented an exciting more hands-on aiming mechanic for guns, which is a bit different from the automatic aiming system featured in Portia.
This countdown will redirect you to the Youtube stream once it hits zero. You can also head directly to our channels below! Youtube Twitch Steam If you can't make it to the livestream, the recording will be up on our Youtube channel!
Thanks to everyone that watched the first livestream! See you at the next one!
We wanted to give you an update on the development of our next game, My Time At Sandrock.
We’re currently going through the process of getting the game’s rating certified so that we can publish the game online. As soon as we have this locked in, we’ll be able to share more information on when we expect to release My Time At Sandrock into Early Access on Steam!
In the meantime, our team are continuing to develop and polish the game so that we can give you all the best experience when we launch! We’re pouring a lot of love and creativity into this game and we cannot wait for you to play it!
To Our Beta Players
The NDA will remain in effect until further notice, and when certification is obtained, we will announce the date for Early Access. By then we will also begin to lift the NDA allowing Beta players exclusive rights to start live-streaming and sharing screenshots and other content for at least one month before Early Access begins.
By the time Sandrock launches into Early Access, it will have more content, features, optimization, and overall fun than the Beta did, which makes for a better experience for everyone! It’ll be worth the wait. The next build is coming at the end of March, so there’s that to look forward to.
Thanks for your patience!
