METRO CONFLICT: THE ORIGIN - MC_Rob
We would like to thank everyone for participating in our second day of Closed Beta Testing!

As we close down our servers for the day and in preparation of our 3rd day of CBT, there's an important announcement we would like to make!

It should be very clear to everyone by now that our initial intention was to regulate CBT participation in order to bring our users the best possible gameplay experience through secure & strong connections to our servers. In order to achieve this, we decided to restrict server access to all connection from all countries that were not included in our supported regions.

During the past two days, we were able to monitor network traffic, fix connection related issues, and analyze various data related to providing our users with reliable server connectivity.
We would like to announce our intention to remove all IP/Regional restrictions we've put in place for Closed Beta Testing Day-3. We will continue to monitor our servers to make sure it stays stable. With this said, it is vital that everyone understands the expectation that the restriction removal may cause ping and latency related issues which we are unable to correct at this time.

We believe through this action, servers are expected to become more populated compared to the first two days of CBT.

Once again! we thank everyone for participating in our Closed Beta Testing #1 and we hope you enjoy the final day of gameplay!

We hope to see all of you back for our Beta Testing #2! (Announcement of its schedule will be made soon)

Stay tuned and enjoy!!

Long awaited Beta Testing finally starts in several hours!

We would like to thank everyone for applying for our CBT. We've received staggering number of application during the 4 day period!

It is very unfortunate that we weren't able to invite everyone into our CBT but we sincerely hope to have you all in the loop as we move forward.

Please review the follwing details related to our CBT participation drafting details;
  • For our Closed Beta, we have created three distinctive server divisions within the Globe.

  • Initial server placement was devised in consideration of most populated location within the region.

  • There were two major factors in restricting service regions and facilitation of server locations:
    a) Overall server/network latency & data congestion equating to diminished user experience.
    b) Total user capacity per server to optimize game process (including; match-making)

*Please note that our various efforts to regulate your CBT gameplay experience is not expected to fully eliminate issues including difference of server connection quality. If you are not connecting from one of the above mentioned countries to its associated regional server, your connection as well as overall gameplay may be significantly affected.

If you reside in any of the countries listed in the table above but have not received a Beta Key, please contact us at; mcapply@redduck.com. In case you were not invited to our CBT due to your location, we will continue to announce changes regarding additional service locations through our Forums and Steam community Hub.

As we prepare to kick off our Closed Beta Testing from Oct 27th at 16:00 CET / 11:00 EST, we would like to answer certain questions which came in through our Community & Forums.

    Beta Q&A:
    Q) How and When will I know if I am accepted into the CBT?
    A) We will start mailing out Beta Keys to accepted participants through their registered email accounts from today. If you were not accepted into our CBT this time around, we will still send you an email including a possible schedule for 2nd beta testing.

    Q) How are Beta Testers chosen?
    A) First and foremost important factor in screening our participants is their geographical location. Believe me, we truly want you all to join us in the game but unfortunately have to consider everyone's gameplay experience. We have previously disclosed that available servers will be located in North America & Europe during our Beta Testing. We are already looking into facilitating more servers in other areas of the world to accommodate our valued users. Until then, stay in tune with news & announcements!

    Q) I have received my Beta Key, what do I do with it?
    A) Once you have received your Beta Key, go to your 'Games' Tab on Steam -> 'Activate a Product on Steam' -> Enter Product Key -> Download game.

    Q) If there is a second Beta Test in the near future, would I be able to use the same Beta Key to gain access?
    A) Yes, your Beta Key will be active throughout the Beta Testing period(s) until it becomes revoked as we launch Early Access.

    Q) What time are Beta Test servers open and when do they shut down?
    A) Refer to the announced CBT schedule in News section!

Looking forward to seeing you guys in game very soon!

Today’s posting is about our new game mode; EXD (Extreme Domination)!

Throughout our development of Metro Conflict: The Origin here at Red Duck, Inc., various new maps and games modes have been continuously added. As of now, there are more than 10 different game modes along with dozens of new maps.

As we were preparing for Metro Conflict: The Origin’s release, the most significant focus in mind was not about how many game modes we have available nor the vast catalog of maps we have prepared; but rather the importance of providing unique gameplay experience through introducing a concept unseen from previous FPS titles available on the market.

While reviewing through each game mode we had prepared for Metro Conflict: The Origin, we were looking for two distinctive features to be offered to our users; ‘Enjoyable gameplay experience’ & ‘Fresh style of gameplay’. Through such internal review, we’ve decided to bring you EXD (Extreme Domination).

Let’s take a closer look into how EXD mode is designed to be played:
  • EXD mode is a 6 vs 6 team match where an objective known as ‘Marker’ requires to be obtained from a neutral location be either team. Once the ‘Marker’ is obtained, it can be carried to a location of choice and activated to win the match.
  • Successful ‘Marker’ activation requires for it to be setup and have, within its proximity, at least one team member for the ‘Marker’ to completely finish becoming activated.
  • Opposing team may, at any time, stop the activation by either; removing any/all players within the designated proximity of the ‘Marker’, or physically steal the ‘Marker’ away from the opposition by picking it up from its set location.
  • Character dynamic & relative skill combination is a significantly vital element in successfully obtaining, and defending/capturing the ‘Marker’. Map utilization, individual aim, and teamwork are all the more important due to the nature of EXD objective model.
  • EXD mode allow users to have much more freedom in the overall gameplay. For example, some teams may forcefully create an added advantage by choosing a strategic location for the ‘Marker’ placement in order to funnel enemy movement. In a grander scheme of things, users may effectively conjure new strategies built on various character combinations to gain leverage over opponents.

We believe in the growth potential that EXD offers in both; casual & competitive gameplay. Through our CBT, we hope to receive your feedback in which we will consider it as our initial evaluation of EXD. Suggestions and ideas including addition, supplication, and also revision of rules & structure would be very much appreciated.

That was indeed a long posting!
Seeing it and experiencing it for yourselves would definitely be best. So make sure you’ve signed up for our CBT but until then, enjoy this informative EXD gameplay video!

In continuation of the previous post, we would like to further elaborate on the game cost.
Here at Red Duck, we pride ourselves in having exceptional experience with over 10 years of experience developing & servicing various Free to Play models and therefore fully understand the positive aspects of F2P as well as its limitations in terms of game’s progressive growth. Therefore, one of several significant decisions we’ve made in relation to launching Metro Conflict: The Origin was the transition from ‘Free to Play’ to ‘Pay to Play’. The idea is for our users to purchase our full game which includes all content to be accessible without having to pay for additional elements to fully experience the gameplay. This change also allows our game to be and remain a balanced online multiplayer FPS where we can strictly avert away from potential P2W scenarios.

Metro Conflict: The Origin’s package nature will include the following;
  • Starting with our Early Access launch, Metro Conflict: The Origin is expected to be available for $19.99 through Steam.
  • Full range of all 12 characters will be made available.
  • All weapons are permanent once purchased and will be made available through the in-game store via credits obtained through gameplay. (collectable through gameplay; non-cash oriented)
  • There are various character and weapon skins available to be obtained either through; gameplay and/or events. These skins offer cosmetic effects but do not alter weapon mechanics.
Our 1st CBT is scheduled to start from October 27th. We recommended everyone to personally experience these changes during our Beta Testing. We’ll be anticipating valuable feedback during and after our 1st CBT.
Metro Conflict: The Origin will mature through your ideas and feedback!

METRO CONFLICT: THE ORIGIN - robin.seo19
First and foremost, our sincerely appreciation towards all of our users for having interest in Metro Conflict: The Origin. We are the development team for Metro Conflict: The Origin at, Red Duck, Inc; South Korean game developer specializing in FPS games.

We are planning to launch Metro Conflict: The Origin through Early Access. This decision is based on our willingness to actively communicate with our users in order to mold Metro Conflict: The Origin according to our community feedback. Therefore, Dev. Notes, to us, is considered to be one of the most important channels of communication for us towards our valued users.

From this point forward, we will share our thoughts and plans for the development as well as services for Metro Conflict: The Origin through the Dev. Notes. We will also provide detailed description of key updates and changes to important elements of the game. Dev. Notes will also be an official channel to answer major questions & concerns of our community.

Let’s get started with our first official post!
We thought it would be appropriate to clarify the difference between Metro Conflict of the past and the new release; Metro Conflict: The Origin.

  • Metro Conflict: The Origin does differ from Metro Conflict of the past.
  • Metro Conflict: The Origin is a refined version where all previous content and system adaptations have been reviewed upon and simplified/rebalanced in order to provide our users with a true ‘core’ FPS experience; refocusing on ‘sharp-shooting’ and ‘element-utilization’. The name, Metro Conflict: The Origin, appropriately reflects our approach back to the foundational elements of a great FPS game.
  • Major changes applied to the game with respect to the aforementioned background is as follows;
    - Each character and their primary skills have been revised. Secondary skills have been added.
    - Main weapons have all been rebalanced.
    - Previous game modes have been removed. EXD (Extreme Domination) mode has been improved and further developed to become the main game mode.
    - Game cost and related explanation

Each aforementioned topic will be covered in detail through further Dev. Notes. Thank you again to all of our users and we ask for your continued attention and support.
