We're super excited to announce that we will be doing a building event with the Axolot team this weekend. The event is simple to enter: Build something awesome in either Raft or Scrap Mechanic, and submit it in the correct channel over at the Raft Discord to win great prizes.
How do I enter?
1. Build something awesome in either Raft or Scrap Mechanic. Bonus if it relates to the other game. (For example something Raft related in Scrap Mechanic and vice versa). 2. Take 5-10 screenshots or gif(s) of your creation showing different angles and features of it. 3. Upload the screenshots/gifs to imgur.com and submit it in the correct channel with a small description over at the Raft Discord for a chance to win.
How many winners and who pick them?
1. There will be 10 keys for each game - meaning 20 winners in total, chosen by the developers. 2. The Redbeet team will choose the Scrap Mechanic winners (who will get steam keys for Raft). 3. The Axolot team will choose the Raft winners (who will get steam keys for Scrap Mechanic).
Timeline and Rules
1. The event starts Friday at 15:00 CEST and runs until Sunday Midnight CEST (turning Monday). 2. The Raft and Scrap Mechanic team will choose the winners during the week and announce them. 3. You can only submit one build that you have built yourself or with your friends.
Notice: You will be disqualified and banned from future events if you submit nsfw content or submit stolen or straight up copied content. You also agree that if you win the event, your gamer tag and build will be announced on the Raft and Axolot social medias.
We will be hosting a building event with Axolot this weekend! 10 keys for both Raft and Scrap Mechanic will be on the line, so be sure to follow along on our social medias friday to see how to enter! :) You can follow our Twitter here, and join our Discord here: https://discord.gg/raft :tinder:
Hi all! I will be streaming live Monday at 15:00 CEST (6AM Pacific Time), while building one of the new large islands - via https://www.twitch.tv/redbeetinteractive
If you feel like being part of building one of the large islands ( I will be taking inputs, explaining what's going on and testing stuff that you write in chat ), feel free to tune in! ːsteamhappyː
The stream will last for around 5-8 hours, really depends on how much there is to do. We will build it monday, and decorate it with stuff Wednesday (same schedule/time)! :tinder:
We're working on new trees that will decorate the new large islands!
There's also only 15 minutes left before the 3x steam key and 2x discord nitro giveaway ends, so make sure to participate over at https://discord.gg/raft if you haven't already :tinder:
It's time for a super exciting announcement - the results from the survey most of you did a couple weeks ago! :tinder:
We have gathered a report based on the information provided by you guys, and hope that you enjoy the result just as much as us! We aim to be a transparent and trusted game studio where our players take part in development, so we have included everything, good and bad, in the report. You can find the full report right here: https://www.redbeetinteractive.com/results
If it doesn't show up immediately, please wait a couple seconds and smash that F5 button to reload the page, and it should appear! ːsteamfacepalmː
A long requested feature is now finally in the game - auto saving!
The following changes have been made to saving: - The game will automatically save every 10 minutes - this is toggleable in the settings. - All clients will now save the world and their inventories together with the host. - A small icon will appear in the right bottom corner indicating the world is saving. - The game will now automatically save the world when a client leaves
Increased seed drop rate
Right now it's quite hard to sustain a farm or go paint-crazy. Therefore, we have increased the drop rate on flower seeds to 50%, and the drop rate for watermelon and pineapple seed to 60%.
Research and croplots are now syncing
We have fixed an annoying bug that sometimes made it so friends joining you didn't realize stuff had been researched, rendering them unable to craft already researched items. Cropplots also sometimes didn't render properly (client couldn't harvest the tree etc) This is now fixed.
Spawning in water
A few of you have experienced spawning in the water - we're sorry about this, and have now implemented checks to make sure you will no longer be stranded in the water without a raft!
Collision on the beds
We have fixed an annoying issue that made it so you couldn't pick up things or interacting with stuff close to a bed without laying down. This is now fixed so you can interact with things properly!
Collection nets
We have made a small optimization this patch by decreasing the maximum items held in collection nets to 10. We've seen noticeable performance increase on especially larger rafts with many nets.
A new programmer
We are happy to welcome Gabriel to the Redbeet Interactive team! He will be focusing mostly on bug fixes and other awesome things the next couple weeks to get integrated into the project!

Hi all! Thanks a lot for all the amazing name suggestions for the new bird enemy :tinder: We are super overwhelmed by the support and wanna involve you guys even more in future development. Please fill in the following survey (will take 2 - 3 min) and tell us what you like and don't like about raft, how you wish to see raft in the future, what kind of player you are, and what you want us to implement the most! We will use this data when deciding what to do next, so make sure your voice is heard!

We have also added the ability to leave the game without saving - so if you encounter an issue, you can safely leave the game without having to worry about saving a corrupted world, etc! We have tons of articles that are updated regularly with information about issues and how to fix them, as well as common questions over at the help center. You can now also submit a ticket and report any bugs or issues you come across directly to us developers!
Bruce the Shark
We all know that the dear shark is public enemy number one, even though he just wanna be your new best friend. We hear you, and have increased the respawn timer from 100 seconds to 180 seconds, so you get room to breathe (or dive) before he comes back to eat your raft hug you!

Welcome to our first development blog in Early Access! This development blog will feature and include the introduction of new larger islands, more info on the upcoming enemy, new vegetation and more about future plans and updates!
NEW AND LARGER ISLANDS
We are super excited to announce that a variety of new and much larger islands will be introduced with the new enemy! The new islands will be an end game thing, as you will need a receiver and radar in order to find them. The islands will contain a good amount of resources, have a good amount of food, and there will be some nice hidden loot stashed away on them!
THE NEW ENEMY
We have been teasing the new upcoming enemy a few times on our social medias and are super excited to see it joining the raft world soon. We know you guys have some questions (and concerns) about this beast, so we will address them here: The plan is that it will house the new large islands, protecting them. If you get too close, it will attack you with a bombardment of heavy rocks, so be wary and watch out!
NEW VEGETATION
A new set of islands, a new set of vegetation. We're introducing three different plant species to accompany and decorate the large islands.
NEW BOULDERS
Like with the vegetation, a large island need some large boulders to create the right authentic feel.
FUTURE PLANS
We are working hard on getting the next major bird and large islands update ready, but it will take some time - and we will therefore release a patch or two in the meantime with some other exciting stuff. We will save some of the fun text though, so that was all from us today!
