Jurassic World Evolution - BrettC Frontier
Hello everyone,

It's that time of the year again, where it's all about giving, sharing, and celebrating. And of course we wouldn't have it any other way then to celebrate this time with you...

Frontier's 24 Hour Charity Stream!

On 17 December, 2018 (midday UTC), Frontier will be starting our fourth annual Charity livestream to raise money for SpecialEffect, a wonderful charity which helps people with physical disabilities use technology and play videogames. It's a charity we are all incredibly passionate about, and last year we raised over £58,000 together with you all - we can't wait to reach more milestones this year and have 24 hours full of fun activities for you to enjoy. We will be hosting several activities in the weeks to come as well as during the 24 hour stream, which will end on 18 December, midday UTC.

Charity Auction

This year we've got another exciting Charity Auction lined up for you; this Auction features unique prizes that you can bid on, like two special Elite Dangerous paintjobs, signed props from our Jeff Goldblum interview earlier this year, or a unique Planet Coaster cushion set (and loads more, don't worry!). We will post separately about all the prizes you can bid on in the coming week. All of the money from the Charity Auction goes to our Just Giving page for SpecialEffect, and you will receive your amazing prize (if you are the highest bidder) after the Charity stream.

Charity Sweepstake

The Charity Sweepstake is the final hour of the livestream (so 11AM UTC on 18 December) and it's the hour during which we give out loads of amazing prizes to our wonderful community. For every £1 you donate to our Just Giving campaign between now and 18 December 11 AM UTC, you get 1 entry into the prize draw (so if you donate £10, you get 10 entries, and so forth). At the end of the stream we will pick winners together on screen, so make sure to donate and enter your email address (the optional field at donation, not as a comment) for a chance to win one of the following amazing prizes:

  • Noblechairs ICON in white
  • PlayStation 4 Pro
  • Xbox One X
  • Thrustmaster (for platform of your choice)
  • Elgato StreamDeck Mini
  • HyperX headsets
  • Corsair HS50, GLAIVE Mouse, MM800 pad
  • Frontier Goodiebag
  • Frontier Game Bundle on the platform of your choice x3 (contains Elite Dangerous + Horizons, Planet Coaster Deluxe, Jurassic World Evolution, and LostWinds 1 + 2)
  • Planet Coaster Vinyl
  • Frontier £25 Merch Design Voucher x3
  • ... and much more!

Milestones!

You are changing lives by donating to SpecialEffect and for that we cannot thank you enough! During the 24 hour livestream, for every £1,000 we reach in donations, we have a milestone activation - this will unlock a special giveaway or some secret Frontier content for you! So do keep supporting the cause during the stream as much as you can, and help us reach our target goal of £30,000!

Streaming Schedule

We've also enlisted the help of some fabulous community content creators to help us raise as much money as possible. During the 24 hours, we have a separate streaming schedule where you can always find someone playing the game or doing charity challenges with their communities. We will post the full roster as soon as possible.

Thank you as always for the incredible and valuable support during the past year; from the launch of Jurassic World Evolution to the community meet-ups and the countless game updates, it means the world to us to have you by our side. We hope you're excited to join our cause and our celebration, and remember that it's all going towards SpecialEffect. Every little bit makes a huge difference in someone else's life.

See you on 17 December, 12PM UTC!

Jurassic World Evolution - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Dominic Tarason)

I’d somehow never noticed it until now, but Jurassic World Evolution‘s dinosaurs would only ever rest if they were on death’s door. As of today’s patch – update 1.5 – the sun will now set on the dino-park sim, the big lizards will take a kip and hang out with their reptilian pals when they wake, as detailed in the patch notes here. Still, if you’re playing god, why not go all-in? Today’s paid Secrets Of Dr Wu DLC adds more islands, new story missions and a few gene-spliced hybrid creatures, like the very pointy Stegoceratops above. See the ethically questionable trailer below.

Jurassic World Evolution

Frontier Developments has announced its prehistoric park sim Jurassic World Evolution will be getting a new chunk of paid DLC, known as Secrets of Dr. Wu, on November 20th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Secrets of Dr. Wu takes its name from the InGen geneticist responsible for recreating the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park (as played by BD Wong), and who later appears in Jurassic World. Wong reprises his role in Evolution, and lends his voice to a selection of new campaign missions set on two hidden research facilities on Isla Muerta and Isla Taca o.

"Players will confront an elevated level of chaos and threat caused by Wu's machinations as they work alongside the doctor and discover new dig sites, facility upgrades and research opportunities," explains Frontier of the new missions.
