The Escapists 2 is currently on Steam's MIDWEEK MADNESS, where you can save a massive 33% on the game. This is the biggest discount we've ever had, making this the best time ever to go to prison - only so you can escape again and again!
What's more, we've also discounted the Season Pass as well as all the DLC, including the latest Dungeons & Duct Tape prison!
Whether you've been waiting for a sale yourself, or just want to get some friends to come play with you, now's definitely the time to jump in. And in case you missed it, we updated the Prison Editor with the zone tool recently, allowing you to create your very own custom rooms, ensuring an endless flow of new player-created prisons to play through via the Steam Workshop.
Save up to 75% on The Escapists & DLC
If you already own The Escapists 2, but want to check out the game that started it all, we've discounted The Escapists alongside all its DLC. We've even discounted The Escapists: The Walking Dead, allowing you to check out the entire franchise at a hefty discount!
You’ve been asking for it, and we’ve of course been working on it. Being able to make your very own rooms in The Escapists 2 is important to the creative process, and we’re very, very excited to be able to confirm that it’s coming. Oh, what’s that? Right, it’s actually AVAILABLE TODAY!!!
Just update your game at 5 PM BST today and jump into the updated editor. Those familiar with the Prison Editor from The Escapists will feel right at home here, as the updated editor for The Escapists 2 works much in the same way. You can still place pre-set rooms like before, but now you’re able to change absolutely everything about these rooms including walls, floors, objects, everything. You can also create rooms from scratch using the Zone Tool, allowing you to create any type of room any way you want. This includes the ability to now freely place a ton of new objects – like desks – anywhere you please! The editor will now also display potential issues with your prison, like being unable to get to your desk, make your way to roll call, or if a door has been blocked somewhere unintentionally.
Dungeons and Duct Tape
If you prefer prisons handcrafted by the team here at Team17, we’re also excited to announce our latest DLC prison – and the final prison included in the Season Pass – called “Dungeons & Duct Tape”! It’s a medieval prison set in Locke Castle, which has you utilising the Grappling Hook a lot more to get around the prison, as it’s a lot more vertical than our usual slammers.
To celebrate the launch of Dungeons & Duct Tape, we’ll be livestreaming at 4 PM BST over on YouTube – come join us!
Do let us know what you think of today’s updates, and if you have any questions about custom rooms, or Dungeons & Duct Tape, sound off below or over on the Community Hub. We’d also love to see your prisons – with custom rooms, woohoo – over on our Discord server, where we’ve got a channel dedicated to it. We can’t wait to see what you all create!
We’re looking for some more feedback for The Escapists 2! Whether you loved it, hated it, or just wanted to beat up fellow inmates for the hell of it, we'd love to know what you think! You might remember having done another survey already, but there are some additional things we'd really love to know about your experience!
We always like to reward Teamsters with special items. At the end of the survey, there will be an option for you to enter a prize draw where you can be in with a chance to win one of three cool Team17 loot items!
Q. I recently completed another The Escapists 2 survey for Team17. Is this the same one? A. Nope, this is a completely different survey. Feel free to complete this survey as well if you like.
Q. What happens to my feedback? A. All feedback will be passed on to the development team except your email address if you choose to enter the prize draw.
Q. I'm experiencing issues with the survey. How can I still give feedback? A. Send an email to our Usability Lab and let us know about the problem - usability@team17.com.
Q. How long does the survey take to complete? A. The survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete, but this also depends on whether you want to complete the optional comment boxes.
Q. What kinds of question will you ask? A. The questions will ask you about your gameplay experiences with The Escapists 2 and consist mainly of 'Tick all that apply' or 'Choose one option' formats. There are also OPTIONAL comment boxes so if you want to provide more feedback, you can use these sections. Write as much or as little as you like.
After two intensely competitive weeks of superb prison creation, our very first Prison Design Contest for The Escapists 2 has ended! It was very, very difficult to pick our two winners, but after much deliberation, we're excited to announce our two winning entries:
More than just eye candy, we wanted the winners to be easy to navigate, have a logical design and flow, be fun to play, have several ways to escape, and have some of that The Escapists 2 magic. While a lot of the entries certainly share these traits, the winning entries managed to strike just the right balance!
Congratulations to our winners on each receiving £20 Steam Wallet Top-Ups along with favour from the duct tape gods!
More than celebrating the winning entries, we also want to give some shout outs to some of the other amazing creations submitted for our competition. See some of them below, and check out all contest entries right here.

Hey everyone!
With thousands of player-created The Escapists 2 prisons already available on Steam Workshop, there are definitely a ton of amazing creations out there. We want to celebrate the immense creativity among our players, and what better way than by holding a Prison Design Contest!
Whether you're an experienced creator or are all new to the tools of The Escapists 2 Prison Editor (Pssst, find tips here), we'd love to see your creations. We're leaving it open too, meaning you can create your prison(s) any way you want. Any theme, any tile-set, any objects, anything. Just be sure you're not breaking any of Steam's guidelines. You can publish as many prisons as you want within the competition period, as long as you include the word "Contest" in the prison name (so we can find it!). Feel free to be creative with this.
How do you win?
We knew you'd ask and creativity is key here. You can turn your prison into a piece of art by "drawing" it using the buildings, objects, tile-sets and more. You can make a prison based on something in the real or fictional world. You can create your dream (or nightmare) prison, a resort-type prison, a water world prison or whatever else you feel like. Just keep in mind; it has to be playable, and it must be possible to escape. And you can't copy someone else's creation!
If you'd like further inspiration, we'd encourage you to check out some of the existing masterpieces on Steam Workshop, or some of the custom prison videos available on YouTube.
