Hi Chefs!

We wish you an amazing Winter Holiday and a Happy New Year. Thank you for another amazing year!
To celebrate this wonderful time, we've launched a new Holiday-themed update for Cooking Simulator. There's a new Winter Holiday 2021 decoration available for the Classic Kitchen and in case you've missed it, there's an awesome Winter Holiday mode where you can prepare a feast for up to 8 guests in an amazing cozy winter kitchen!

We're also super excited to announce that Cooking Simulator VR has been nominated in this year's Steam Awards for the Best VR Title. That's amazing and we would really appreciate your support, if you were to vote for us! You can vote for Cooking Simulator VR even, if you don't own the VR version. Keep in mind that the voting starts at 10am PST/7pm CET.

Also, you can check out the Poltergeist Multiplayer mode for Cooking Simulator.

It's a new game mode that allows for 2-4 players to cook together in a shared kitchen. It's still an early beta though, so expect some bugs and glitches. Find out how to access it in the recent announcement here:

Hi Chefs!

Winter Holiday is just around the corner! To help you celebrate that special time of the year usually spent bonding with each other, we'd like to invite you to check out the beta version of the Poltergeist Multiplayer mode.

Yes, you've heard that right. Poltergeist is a holiday-themed multiplayer mode for Cooking Simulator. Just keep in mind that it's still in a very early beta stage, so definitely expect some bugs while messing around with your friends.

How to access beta:
1. Right-click on 'Cooking Simulator' in your Steam library and go to 'Properties'
2. In the new window left-click ‘BETAS’ from the left side panel
3. Choose ‘poltergeist’ from the drop-down list
4. Close the window and update the game

IMPORTANT: The beta contains only the Poltergeist game mode! If you want to access the regular Cooking Simulator game modes, you’ll need to opt out from beta. By using the instruction above, choose ‘none’ from the drop-down list.

Poltergeist Multiplayer mode allows for up to 4 players sharing the Classic kitchen and preparing dishes. You'll see each other as friendly ghosts flying across the kitchen. Due to the game's nature some of the interactions are limited. You can cooperate by exchanging products and ready made-dishes by using the shared space on the table right in the middle of the kitchen.

Poltergeist offers 2 game modes:
Sandbox - learn and practice your cooking skills with any pressure or scoring
Leaderboards - work together to prepare the chosen dishes during the given time and earn the highest score possible

Hi Chefs!

This is the final entry in the devlog series. This time we'll focus on the quests, NPCs and camps in the game.

As a reminder Shelter will be available on November 18 with a nice -15% launch discount!
Add to your wishlist and don't miss the release!

Also, if you've missed previous entries here's a list of all the Shelter devlogs and their topics:
As you might already know in Shelter you'll be playing as a chef looking for their lost family in the wastelands. After arriving at a place known as Sector 12 you stumble upon an abandoned military comm center. The last hope lies in restoring the radio towers and hopefully contacting our loved ones. Unfortunately we won't be able to fix the radios without the help of nearby settlements and that's where our cooking skills come in.

Throughout the game we'll complete quests for the 4 camps in the Sector and the caravan who will be the first group of people we'll meet. The camps and their inhabitants are quite diversified. Aside from the nomadic merchant group represented by Mila Run, there are the cattle breeders family from MacStump's ranch, mutated miners of Stedler Camp, survivors operating in a steelworks facility in Firepit Plant and finally the remnants from the former military base.

Each group has a leader who'll be giving us varios quests which will eventually lead to mutual trust. The caravan will help us deliver and exchange goods required by each settlement.

Quests unlock various rewards such as resources, gun upgrades, new recipes and so on. Completing the final quest for each settlement will grant us the special parts needed for repairing the radio towers. In case we find ourselves in need of some extra cash or other supplies we can take up to 3 additional side-quests each day.

As for the quests themselves, we wanted to introduce new challenges, different from a strict list of orders to complete. A few examples might be delivering enough highly radioactive food for the mutated miners, preparing cow forage with medicines for MacStumps or preparing food rations and killing mutated rats near our shed to help expeditors from the military base crossing nearby.

How do you like the ideas for the new content? Let us know in the comments.

Shelter will be available on November 18 with a nice -15% launch discount!
