Dear Pathfinders, We've prepared the first update for the Definitive Edition as fast as we could. It is an important one, as it contains fixes for a few critical issues that some of you have faced.

Now you can change the controller type in the game settings.
Now you can change the order of characters in your group (for the console version).
Fixed the issue due to which sometimes it was impossible to save the game.
The characters could sometimes be stuck in the throne room. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the issue with the freezing of Octavia and Regongar’s scene in the tavern.
The romance dialogue with Tristian started each time the player’s character entered the main square in the Capital. Resolution: fixed.
The main character was hanging in the air during the dialogue with Kaessi in her house. Resolution: fixed.
In Jamandi’s mansion and some other areas, weapons sometimes were hanging in the air. Resolution: fixed.
When companions joined the main character, sometimes they were not linked (for the console version only). Resolution: fixed.
The kinetic knights started the game with 0 gold. Resolution: fixed.
The kineticist’s action panel was sometimes displayed incorrectly. Resolution: fixed.
When activating an ability in combat using a hotkey, the prediction panel showed the incorrect information. Resolution: fixed.
The cursor was visible after you selected the gamepad as the controller. Resolution: fixed.

Highlights • You can now play Pathfinder: Kingmaker with your gamepad. • Turn-based mode is now available.
Areas • Now, after you explored the Blackstones Ford map, you can stay in that area to collect the loot and exit when you feel like it. • Now you can speak to Kobold Artist in the Troll Liar only once. • Fixed the chest respawn in the endless dungeon. The chests will no longer appear in the unreachable locations. • Some secret rooms in the endless dungeon contained no chests. Resolution: fixed. • In the endless dungeon, certain poisons had no icons. Resolution: fixed. • The Bandit Camp area had an incorrect name on the local map. Resolution: fixed. • The Cloudkill effect of traps in the Vordakai Tomb had no visible text. Resolution: fixed. • An incorrect message was displayed for one of the houses in Varnhold. Resolution: fixed. • Fixed the issue when the innkeeper in Varnhold could hear the rioting peasants for the second time. • Fixed the issue when characters could get stuck in some places at Jamandi’s mansion.
Quests • After you start investigating the Season of Bloom quest and talk to Kesten, the Second Breath quest fails if you haven’t completed it before. • In one of the options of Regongar’s final quest, it was possible to get the reward twice. Resolution: fixed. • Fixed the issue due to which the final stage of Octavia’s and Regongar’s quest could not be completed. • After you saved the game and then loaded it at the Capital Square during the Investigate My Death quest, Jaethal disappeared and you could not talk to her until re-entering the area. Resolution: fixed.
Kingdom • Allowing Tsanna to decide what to do about the situation while increasing Loyalty Rank to 7 led to doubling of the Rank Up project and other effects. Resolution: fixed. Classes & Mechanics • Now rogues can select a starknife as a weapon for Finesse Training. • The rogue’s Finesse Training lacked nunchaku as an option. Resolution: fixed. • The rogue’s Dispelling Attack advanced talent didn’t scale correctly with levelling up of vivisectionists and slayers. Resolution: fixed. • Monks can now correctly activate two style strikes after 15th level. • Sensei Advice: Mass Diamond Soul (monk’s ability) incorrectly applied the Diamond Body effect. Resolution: fixed. • The inquisitor's progression window did not show the Greater Bane ability. Resolution: fixed. • The DC of the inquisitor's Daze orison spell was based on the inquisitor's Charisma instead of Wisdom. Resolution: fixed. • The cleric's Divine Fortune ability of the Luck domain was infinite per day. Resolution: fixed. • Strength Surge (cleric's strength domain ability) didn’t work on allies. Resolution: fixed. • The description of Sage Sorcerer has been expanded to clarify the features of this archetype. • The kinetic knight can now correctly choose Armor Proficiency (Medium). • Metakinesis no longer increases the burn cost of the kineticist’s wild talents. • For the Phoenix Rising ability of the flamewarden (ranger’s archetype) it was incorrectly stated that it worked once per week while it actually worked once per day. Resolution: fixed the description. • The Russian description of the Touch of Good ability (Good domain) incorrectly mentioned that it gave a bonus equal to the level of the class that granted access to that domain. In fact, the bonus amounted to half of the class level. Resolution: fixed. • Harm and Inflict Wounds, Mass spells failed to check for Death Domain — Death's Embrace. Resolution: fixed. • Channel Positive Energy — Heal Living healed golems. Resolution: fixed. • The Reduce Person spell was affected by Spell Resistance. Resolution: fixed. • The True Seeing spell was affected by Spell Resistance. Resolution: fixed. • Remove Fear failed to work against Frightful Presence. Resolution: fixed. • Magic Fang and Greater Magic Fang were not displayed on characters as an effect. Resolution: fixed. • Mind Fog had an incorrect duration description. Resolution: fixed. • Hardy dwarves’ racial trait now correctly works on the first saving throw against poisons afflicted by enemies' natural attacks. • Tartuk now correctly has the Fiery Body spell. • Fixed the issue when it was impossible to pick up the loot from enemies that were killed under the effects of the Baleful Polymorph spell. • Attacks of opportunity in the round right after a charge action got a +2 bonus to attack rolls from the charge. Resolution: fixed. • Using the respec on a caster that learns spells from scrolls will now refund all the extra spells this caster has learned from scrolls (so that players can go and buy other scrolls from vendors). • The bear animal companion had a lower natural armor than intended. Resolution: fixed, the natural armor of the bear was increased. • Even the smallest goblin alchemists now can throw bombs. • Rapid Shot no longer applies a -2 penalty to single attacks.
Items • Added Masterwork Throwing Axe, Masterwork Nunchaku, Throwing Axe +1 and Nunchaku +1 to the goods offered by the Honest Guy. • Scalemail of Resistance +2 sold by the traveling merchant could be equipped only by druids, instead of all classes. Resolution: fixed. • Sword of Eternal Servitude worked incorrectly. Resolution: fixed. • Cloak of Sold Souls summoned a friendly Thanadaemon. Resolution: fixed. • Thundering Claw of the Bear God didn’t work with Beast Shape III; Call Lighting was also cast if an animal companion landed a critical hit. Resolution: fixed. • The Bladed Plate item incorrectly appeared in Kaessi’s house in the capital. Resolution: fixed. • The Bleed effect of the Serrator weapon failed to work in the first round after successful hit. Resolution: fixed. • Fixed issues with Gear's Rule. • The Narrow Path amulet checked the alignment of the wearer instead of the target. Resolution: fixed. • The Blakemoor's grimoire description wasn’t displayed properly. Resolution: fixed. • The weapon type information was missing for oversized bastard swords. Resolution: fixed. • Scroll of Cape of Wasps had DC equal to 0. Resolution: fixed. • Mail of Clear Skies wasn’t considered a light armor. Resolution: fixed. • Mail of Clear Skies had incorrect stats. Resolution: fixed. • Disruption Thundering Heavy Flail +2 was a regular flail, not a heavy one. Resolution: fixed. • The game mechanics information was missing for the Briar. Resolution: fixed. • Frozen Crescent had an incorrect critical range. Resolution: fixed. • Wand of Acid Splash had an incorrect price. There were also some scrolls with incorrect spells. Resolution: fixed. • Adamantine Breastplate +3 had an incorrect price. Resolution: fixed. • Singing Steel Breastplate had an incorrect price. Resolution: fixed. • Lycanthrope Bane Disruption Club +3 had an incorrect price. Resolution: fixed. • Fixed typos in the descriptions of the Dark Revelation, Amulet of the Dying Wisdom, Staff of the Whispering Souls, and Cord of Stubborn Fury belt.
User Interfaces • The icon to exit the Silverstep Grove area was located too low. Resolution: fixed. • Fixed the location of the monster names above the water elementals. • Fixed the location of the monster icons above the slurks. • Combat Log didn’t display rerolls. Resolution: fixed. • Changed the color of Jaethal’s name for readability.
Miscellaneous • Fixed multiple typos and inconsistencies in the German, French, and Chinese localizations. • Audio: added four new voice packs for barons and baronesses. • Autosave worked incorrectly when moving from the Other World to the Womb of Lamashtu. Resolution: fixed. • Animation: fixed Coup de Grace animation and slipping in the Mammoth animation. • Rain visual effects no longer freeze when switching between locations. • Fixed a collision problem on the stairs of the Academy of Grand Arts in Pitax.

In Wilderness Clearing, barbarians killed their leader, which made it impossible to start the corresponding dialogue. Resolution: fixed.
In Vordakai's Tomb, zombies entered into combat incorrectly. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the gameplay-related issues in Vordakai's Tomb.
Fixed the issue, which made it impossible to interact with objects at the Varnhold Stockade.
It was impossible to kill Kressle and her bandits in the Stag Lord's Fort. Resolution: fixed.
Kingdom
In the dialogue with Vordakai, the new kingdom project notification was duplicated. Resolution: fixed.
The Brevan Envoy Awaits kingdom event about Annamede Belavarah’s show in the main square appeared again after it was resolved. Resolution: fixed.
Classes & Mechanics
Canceling a cone-shaped spell failed to disable the 5-ft mode. Resolution: fixed.
When using Charge, characters could sometimes stack on top of other characters or monsters. Resolution: fixed.
The spell specialization could be duplicated in the Level Up screen of multiclass characters. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the error when the Land Defenders effect was lost if a character died.
Fixed the incorrect behavior of effects in turn-based mode.
The mechanics of how enemies entered into turn-based combat has been improved. It should solve various issues related to detecting new enemies during combat and using Coup de Grace while out of combat.
Fixed the incorrect behavior of summoned allies in turn-based mode.
In some cases, a character who was unable to move for some reason could lose the ability to attack. Resolution: fixed.
In turn-based mode, it was impossible to use the characters’ portraits to target a spell. Resolution: fixed.
In turn-based mode, when you summoned a creature at the edge of the fog of war, which covered enemies, it started an endless cycle of going into and out of combat.
If you quickly turned abilities on and off on the action bar, you could sometimes lose your action. Resolution: fixed.
Creatures spawned by a trap couldn’t be attacked during the first turn in turn-based mode. Resolution: fixed.
If you were making 5-foot steps while holding Shift down, the character would stop when you released the key. Resolution: fixed.
User Interfaces
On the global map, the fatigue notification could incorrectly appear in the book event text. Resolution: fixed.
Ability scores were not displayed on the Total page of the Level Up screen. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the turn-based mode issues caused by switching to the fullscreen window mode or opening the menu using Esc.
Fixed the issue with the display of effects on characters’ portraits.
Hints in the dialogue window functioned incorrectly. Resolution: fixed.
Some UI elements sometimes were displaced in the Level Up screen. Resolution: fixed.
Overtips sometimes appeared in an incorrect location for some types of enemies. Resolution: fixed.
Tutorial screenshots had Russian captions. Resolution: fixed.
If an attack of opportunity was available, the path was sometimes incorrectly painted (the standard action part was painted as if it was the move action part).
Some gods’ icons were not displayed. Resolution: fixed.
Miscellaneous
Fixed the issue when some mouse devices were identified as gamepads, which triggered a message that suggested switching to the gamepad mode.
When you clicked the icon of a character located far away from the party, the camera failed to focus on that character. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed some issues related to the selection of the controller type at the game start.
Audio: the volume of stamp sounds made by hares has been decreased.
Audio: fixed the issue with incorrect type of footsteps in the Kamelands.
Audio: fixed the issue that could result in incorrect behavior of sound and music in some areas.

Fixed the issues with the characters’ movement on the bridge in the Old Sycamore Caves.
In Troll Wilderness (trolls’ liar), the area available for movement has been expanded.
Classes & Mechanics
Fixed the abilities that suggested choosing a spell (New Arcana for the sage sorcerer, Fey Magic for the feyspeaker druid) upon leveling up.
Wild Shape could change the visual appearance of the character’s weapon size. Resolution: fixed.
The game could sometimes freeze when you hovered over an enemy if the character had a charged Touch spell or a ranged attack and the character was standing far away from the target. Resolution: fixed.
The game could freeze during the character’s turn if an AoE spell was used immediately after moving the cursor or the camera.
In turn-based mode, you could interact with the action bar during the character’s action. This resulted in issues with the turn prediction. Resolution: fixed. Now the action bar is hidden during the character’s action.
When you delayed a character’s turn, the next character could sometimes lose some actions.
If an NPC wasn’t supposed to be killed at once according to the story, they sometimes fully restored their health. Resolution: fixed.
User Interfaces
It was impossible to choose a portrait when creating a mercenary. Resolution: fixed.
The constructed buildings were displayed incorrectly in the Building window. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the lighting error that occurred when exiting to the main menu.
Fixed the issue when sometimes loot was not displayed in the Loot window.
Fixed the issue when tags were displayed in the tooltips.
Statuses displayed on the character’s portrait sometimes failed to update. Resolution: fixed.
When loading a saved game, you could sometimes see a warning that settings of the kingdom managed in the Auto mode couldn’t be changed. Resolution: fixed.
Miscellaneous
If Kalikke or Kanerah is dead in the saved game, she will be replaced with Kanerah / Kalikke upon loading the saved game (if the other sister is alive).
The "Only active companions receive experience" setting could be reset when starting a new Beneath the Stolen Lands campaign. Resolution: fixed.
DLC3: an option to hire mercenaries is now displayed in the dialogue with Xelliren even if there’s not enough money for hiring.
DLC3: fixed the issue with the campfire, which is now dropped by monsters correctly.
Voice barks were not played after the respec and hiring companions. Resolution: fixed.
In turn-based mode, the camera now spends less time focusing on a character that won’t take action.
Fixed the issue with pointing the camera at the character when the turn was passed to the next character.

During the second fight at Oleg’s Trading Post, Oleg didn’t throw Alchemist's Fire at all or threw it after the fight. Resolution: fixed.
Enemies couldn’t shoot and sometimes attack at all. Resolution: fixed.
A character couldn’t perform any action, even end the turn if they tried to move while under the effect that prevented their movement (Web, Entangle, and so on). Resolution: fixed.
The party could not take any action while the kineticist was drawing energy. Resolution: fixed.
If you select several characters and then click an enemy, your main character will no longer rush to attack the enemy in the surprise round (if only one character is selected, they will attack automatically as it was before).
It was impossible to enter Empty Skull Rock. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the issues with the characters’ movement in the Cave from Luna's Map.
In the Stag Lord’s Fort, minions wouldn’t run to ring the bell in turn-based mode. Resolution: fixed.
Some items in the belt couldn’t be used in turn-based mode. Resolution: fixed.
Some invisible objects failed to trigger Perception checks. Resolution: fixed.
The ability score damage wasn’t always correctly displayed among the character’s effects or failed to disappear after the damage was healed. Resolution: fixed.
An incorrect text was displayed for the characters and it was impossible to click the characters’ portraits. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the issue when it was impossible to select an ability in the character’s sheet.
In the Metamagic window, the UI elements could sometimes overlap. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the issue with the display of two-handed weapons in the Shared Stash window, context menu for items, and Equip and Take off hints for the items to which these actions cannot be applied.
Fixed the issue when the option to evade enemies was activated immediately when the corresponding window appeared.
Fixed the overlap of the sequence of turns and the additional action bar.
Fixed the animation of the turn toolbar appearance.
The accelerated animation in turn-based combat worked incorrectly. Resolution: fixed.

The Bug Report button was removed from the UI of the console version. To access the Bug Report window, you should press Esc to open the in-game menu.
Fixed the overlap of the sequence of turns and the additional action bar.
Fixed the animation played when the toolbar for the current turn appears.
Fixed how the Kingdom motto is displayed on the Kingdom management screen.
The Kingdom screen didn’t work in the PC version. Resolution: fixed.

It is less than a month until the release of Pathfinder: Kingmaker Definitive Edition for PC and consoles. With this update comes turn-based mode and a number of fixes. In preparation for this, we are launching a beta for 2.1! In this test, you will be able to play with the turn-based mode. We have put a lot of work into it and now we are ready to present it to you. We hope that you will love it and share your thoughts about it. The beta is accessible only by Steam, for Windows. If you find any bugs you can report them using the in-game bug report feature by pressing F11. You can use the same tool to provide feedback to us - just choose the “Suggestion” option under the text window.

Classes
The Slayer's Studied Target ability infinitely stacked with itself. Resolution: fixed.
Tower Shield Training failed to decrease the armor check penalty for tower shields. Resolution: fixed.
Vital Strike used to take a full-round action. Resolution: fixed.
Lingering Performance had no effect on Archaeologist's Luck. Resolution: fixed.
The highest allowed rank of the fighter’s Weapon Training was set to 5. This caused the following problems. Characters who had 3 ranks in Weapon Training and Gloves of Dueling could not select their previous Weapon Training to upgrade at level 17. Characters who had 4 ranks in Weapon Training got their Weapon Training improved to 5 ranks when equipping Gloves of Dueling, and had it reduced to 3 ranks on removing the gloves. Resolution: the maximum rank for Weapon Training was increased. Sadly, characters who already had problems with 4 ranks and Gloves of Dueling were not restored to normal values.
Areas
One of the options in the dialogue with Embeth Travelers forced the dialogue to finish before it should. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the stone collisions in the Troll Wilderness area.
Fixed the chest respawn in the endless dungeon. The chests will no longer appear in the unreachable locations.
A unicorn’s horn sometimes failed to drop at the Fey Glade area. Resolution: fixed.
Birds were flying in the Fangberry Cave. Resolution: fixed (removed the birds).
Sometimes characters could walk through the walls near the doors in Tenebrous Depths I (first level of the plot dungeon). Resolution: fixed.
Some secret rooms in the endless dungeon contained no chests. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the incorrect amount of books in a chest in one of the buildings at the Capital.
In the Goblin Village, the player could fight the shaman and the goblin king or include Nok-Nok in the party ahead of time. Resolution: fixed.
Ilora Nuski sometimes was killed in the River Blades' Camp after the player let her go in the dialogue. Resolution: fixed.
Fixed the incorrect visual effects on the ground in the monster teleportation scene in The Menagerie area.
The player could sometimes summon monsters on an arch in the Lonely Barrow area. Resolution: fixed.
In the final scenes at Brevoy’s borderlands, Amiri was incorrectly displayed with a visible weapon. Resolution: fixed.
Quests
After saving the game and then loading it at the Capital Square during the Investigate My Death quest, Jaethal disappeared and the player could not talk to her until re-entering the area. Resolution: fixed.
Sometimes the One Thousand and One Questionable Stories quest tasks were given in an incorrect order. Resolution: fixed.
Sometimes Olika incorrectly replied to the player’s decision concerning the fate of the Lamashtu priestess in the Witch Hunt quest. Resolution: fixed.
In the Kingdom of the Cleansed quest, the player can now start the dialogue with Amalia by clicking Tristian.
Miscellaneous
Fixed the bug when auras and the Lantern King’s curse were incorrectly stacked after the respec.
Fixed the location of the monster names above the water elementals.
Fixed the location of the monster icons above the slurks.
After you completed the DLC 2 campaign with a certain ending, in your tavern you could have met the DLC 2 main character who could have been hostile. Resolution: fixed.
