New types of differentials were added to dynostand:
Open differential usually installed by car manufacturer by default. It’s not the best option for drift due to independent spin of left and right wheels. This may lead to uncontrolled and unstable drift and unpredictable slippage of free wheels.
Locked differential allows left and right wheels to spin with the same speed. Good option for drift as it helps to keep angle stable, but your sidechanges may not be so sharp.
Viscous differential is another good option for drifting, it also helps to set up your car’s behavior in a wide range of options. Can be seen as updated version of Blocked diff in previous physics.
Blocked diff is a great choice for drifting, with separate block settings on acceleration and braking, what allows you to make more efficient custom setups.
New parameters of the front suspension in the dynostand.
Kingpin angle inclination.
This option changes the mutual position of the upper and lower ball bearing, allows you to increase the return force of the steering wheel on sidechange and increases the stabilization of the car.
Steering axis offset
This setting moves wheel’s axle back on the knuckle, increasing the power to stabilize the steering as a carter, but without the negative effects of high carter in the form of reduced camber up to positive values at high camber. Thus, by increasing the offset of the axle you can use a lower value of the carter and camber, thereby obtaining a setting that has high front axle grip in a larger range of angles.
New control settings added.
Prediction - setting which allows you to compensate input lag for your monitor and input devices. Configure that depending on your personal feelings and comfort. Recommended settings are 1 for controller and keyboard and 0 - 0,5 for wheels.
Stabilization - setting that allows to adjust level of assistance for cars stabilization. Low numbers will help to get more sharp body rotation, but that may lead to corrections. We recommend to use low numbers (up to 0) to experienced players using steering wheels and setting 1 - for players using controller or keyboard.
Smoothing helps with the smoothing of feedback effects. The recommended value here is 1, but you can increase it in case of steering wheel beating, but you may loose some of wheel’s response.
Acceleration setting regulates steering wheel acceleration through side changes and other effects that require fast rotation of the wheel. For direct-drive wheel or belt-driven a 0 value is recommended. For most gear-driven wheels, a value of 1 helps ensure that the rudder has time to turn on its own when skidding.
Inertia - this parameter allows you to reduce the effect of the inertia of the steering wheel on the feedback. Decrease when there is vibration on the steering wheel. The optimal value for wheels with powerful motors (belt drive or direct drive) is 0.5 - 1.0. For gear-driven steering wheels, a value of 0.0 helps reduce vibration.
Feedback post-processing - setting the post-processing feedback force according to the selected parameters.
Wheels as controller - this option can be enabled for non-feedback wheels with a small range of rotation, in which case the assistant (similar to the gamepad’s one) will be connected.
