It’s that time again, Secret World Legends Community! It’s time to get Creative!!! We have some really amazingly talented people in our community, and we would like to see that talent - Halloween style! There are some really exciting and amazing things coming up in this Halloween event. Brace yourselves for some really good fun! Dust off your creative skills, and get ready to show them off!

There’s also some in-game fun to be had, so make sure you read the entire post for all the details!

Along with Samhain 2018 we will have some great new things for you to get involved in! A fantastic event has been planned with cool, fun prizes you will definitely want to get your hands on. Check out the details below!

SECRET WORLD SCAVENGER HUNT

When/Where: Sunday October 28th, 2018 12:00pm EDT in Agartha by the Station Master. Click here to see times for your time zone.

Teams of up to 4 people will participate in a scavenger hunt within a specific zone using hints we will provide. Complete the task faster than other teams in your zone and you’ll win! This event will be streamed on Twitch by Funcom.

Please meet in Agartha at 12:00pm (EDT) on October 28th. At that time, this post will be edited to show all rules and details of what you are hunting. We don’t want to spoil everything just yet. Once your team is gathered, we will transfer you to your assigned zone.

Once all teams are transferred to their designated zone, THIS FORUM POST will be edited to show hints for your zone at exactly 13:00(EDT)(your time zone here). That’s one hour after meetup in Agartha. You can simply click on the arrow to show hints for your zone. That’s when the contest will begin and you can start your hunt!

How to Participate:
  • Once your team of 4 is gathered, the team leader can enter your team for the contest by emailing us here: contest@funcom.com
  • For the subject, please use “Scavenger Hunt”
  • In this email, you need to include your team name, full name of the characters in your team, who the leader is, and the furthest zone you as a group can enter.
  • THIS IS IMPORTANT: we do not want to assign you a zone that one or more players in your group cannot enter.
  • We will then email you back once the deadline closes on October 25th, 2018 with your assigned zone.
  • These zones will be assigned randomly to teams.

Rules:
  • No more than 4 people to a team. You may have less than 4.
  • Your team can communicate through Discord, tells, or however you wish.
  • We discourage giving hints or answers to other teams in your playfield.
  • Do not not leave your zone during your hunt
  • YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN
  • This is just a fun event, so please be a team player and play nicely/don’t cheat.

SECRET WORLD LEGENDS PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST
Head on over to your favourite grocery store, pumpkin patch or Uncle Sam’s garden. You need a Pumpkin for this - it doesn’t need to be big, as long as you make sure you have enough room for what you want to do! We want to see SWL on a pumpkin! Carve your design however you wish, just make sure that it’s SWL inspired.

Rules for the Pumpkin Carving Contest are as follows:
  • Must be Secret World Legends themed or related.
  • Keep it clean - no offensive words or images, please.
  • Entries will be accepted from October 5th, 2018 through October 24th, 2018 at 23:59 (11:59 pm) EST

I think everyone has that little poet in them - We all learned a Haiku or two when we were little, and I’m sure we’ve all had a few “Roses are Red” poems in our head, or even come up with a few of our own. Here’s your shot to show the community your poetry skills. In a Secret World Legends Halloween theme, send in your best Poem!

NEW SCENARIO: OCCULT DEFENCE
The Council of Venice have agreed to utilize their virtual reality system for an all-new combat simulation: Occult Defence. Your mission: Defend Stonehenge against endless waves of enemies in solo or duo play! How far will you go?

NEW EVENT: ENVOYS OF AVALON
The Equinox is upon us! Each equinox the Druids of Avalon arrive in Agartha seeking assistance with the defense of their home. Seek out the envoys in the center of Agartha to be assigned your training mission and daily task. Complete daily missions for chances at unique rewards, including a special agent dossier and equinox-exclusive Legends!

GENERAL
  • The door to the Slaughterhouse in Carpathian Fangs now properly opens the group finder.
  • Fixed scrap golems in Edgar's junkyard sometimes getting stuck in an unattackable state for extended periods of time.
  • Using the /afk command will properly reply to players sending tells with your response.
  • Mounting a ladder while casting sprint will no longer allow sprinting up/down the ladder

DRESSING ROOM
  • Illuminati Grifter Glasses, Illusionist Hat, Gunslinger Glasses, and Necromancer's Goggles now appear properly in the Dressing Room.
  • Exorcist uniforms will no longer turn male Templars invisible.
  • Gunslinger outfit can be equipped by players who have earned the relevant achievement.

COMBAT
  • Sanity's Aphelion now properly provides protection after resurrecting.
  • Increased damage of Thrash to match other weapon single target basic attacks.

ACHIEVEMENTS
  • Fixed Unseen achievements showing the failed notification if the mission had not already been completed at least once.

SCENARIOS
  • Locusts can no longer receive the Strange Attractor mutator.
  • Map markers no longer unnecessarily display monster name, to improve readability in tight quarters
  • Map markers should now always appear on bosses and mutators

AGENT NETWORK
  • Corrected agents who increase basic damage providing nearly double the intended increase. The damage increase now matches the value displayed in the tooltip.

  • Occult Defence - Fixed a rare case where even after all enemies had been killed, the wave would not complete.

AGENT NETWORK
  • Tradeable versions of the Druid of Agent Dossiers can now be properly uploaded. This includes Fearghas Abernathy.

EQUINOX
  • Rewrote goal text on Equinox missions to be more precise.
  • Renamed the repeat mission to make it clear that it is different.
  • Made it easier to pick up missions from Fearghas Abernathy.

Due to rapid turnaround on the new text, French and German localization will be implemented at a later date.

TRANSMIT – initiate the hagstone signal – RECEIVE – initiate Neolithic frequency – THE REALITY YOU ARE EXPERIENCING IS A SIMULATION – illumine the Avalon misdirection – WITNESS – Stonehenge.

The elusive Druids of Avalon require your aid – their soothsayers foreseeing the dark days ahead – and have emerged from the shadows to be seen and act among the societies of the Secret World. An ominous premonition suggests Stonehenge is in imminent danger, and may be unprepared for an impending Occult Disaster…



NEW SCENARIO: OCCULT DEFENCE


The Council of Venice have agreed to utilize their virtual reality system for a new combat simulation: Occult Defence of Stonehenge.

Your mission is deceptively simple: Defend the Hagstone, the ancient artifact laying at the heart of Stonehenge. This artifact draws power from the the world’s ley lines and works to conceal and protect Stonehenge and the Druids’ home from danger. Should the Hagstone’s integrity be compromised, it’s fission mailed – so keep it together!

What threats will you face in the simulation? Just endless, unpredictable waves of monsters trying to destroy the objective, that’s all. 😉 You will need to keep enemies away from the central objective – an enemy simply being near the occult focus is enough to damage it. If you survive a wave, you have an opportunity to halt the simulation and collect your compensation, or you can carry on and raise the danger level.

High-powered agents may also be happy to hear that you may start the scenario at a danger level where they left off, so you don’t have to start at level 1 every single time.

Just pick something you’re comfortable with, and keep going.

It’s dangerous to go alone – bring a friend! Occult Defence is designed for solo and duo play, and is made to scale infinitely! How far will you make it?



NEW SEASONAL EVENT: ENVOYS OF AVALON

On each equinox, the druids of Avalon send their envoys to forge alliances with other Secret Worlders. For a limited time, you’ll be able to find Druids of Avalon in Agartha as they help usher you to the training simulation. Discover event-exclusive legends and get a chance at special loot, including agent dossiers. Seek them out in the center of Agartha!

Once the equinox passes, the envoys will need to return whence they came – but fret not! There’s two equinoxes in a year, so the druids will return soon enough. Even as the druids return home, the Stonehenge Occult Defence program will remain active on the Venetian servers, allowing you to continue your training.

With the release of Occult Defence and the Envoys of Avalon comes new agents for you to command! Opening a Druids of Avalon Agent Booster has a chance to contain new Agents or Gear Reward Bags!

Looks like you’re moving on up, agent. Faction Ranking missions are now available – are you up to the challenge?

Once you’re Level 50, are finished with at least the entirely of the Tokyo storyline, and have an Item Power of at least 250, a new series of tasks become available, allowing you to increase your standing within your Faction! As they say, nothing of value comes for free: You have to show some backbone and commitment – you have to prove yourself!

  • Into Darkness has you infiltrate a mysterious car park. Hope you’ve brought a change of pants!
  • Venetian Missile Crisis tasks you with delving into a Phoenician compound. Go blow things up!
  • Rogue Agent has you hot on the tail of…well, someone you need to chase. We won’t spoil things – just get to it!

These missions provide extra challenge aimed at seasoned agents, and completing your ranking missions unlocks the remaining iterations of your faction uniform, an additional Agent Network mission slot, a brand-new Agent Dossier, and new faction-specific headgear!



Each Faction Ranking mission has a minimum Item Power requirement, beginning with Into Darkness at IP 250. Other ranking missions will require additional Item Power before you may accept them. To accept, look for the Paragon Activity Boards in Agartha (they’re the red ones).

Each Faction Ranking mission also features a series of difficulty levels you unlock as you enter. Additional difficulty options automatically appear as you continue growing in power, and bestow additional rewards as you go up in difficulty. Faction Ranking missions do not require any special keys or tokens in order to access, play through, and earn rewards from.

For example, here’s what it looks like for a character at 500 IP for Into Darkness:

In addition to Faction Ranking missions, those agents infiltrating New Dawn in South Africa may access one new Sabotage mission titled “Public Enemy Number One”. Who’s been keeping an eye on you within the compound? We suppose you’ll want an answer. If you’ve completed “Things That Go Bump in the Night”, return to your quarters and look for a little somethin’ someone left for you.

With the inclusion of this mission, the meta-achievement “Land of the Dawn”, along with its fashionable reward, may now be obtained.

Time to move on up, agent. Faction Ranking Missions are now available from Paragon Activity Boards in Agartha. You must be Level 50, have completed the Tokyo storyline, and have a minimum Item Power of 250 in order to embark on your tasks. New rewards await!

A new mission is now available in New Dawn, titled "Public Enemy Number One". Who's been keeping an eye on you in the New Dawn compound? Once you complete "Things That Go Bump in the Night", return to your quarters and look for a little somethin' someone left for you.


NOTE

The Dragon faction mask introduced in today's update is a different color than what has been advertised on the blog and social media. The current ingame version is a brighter green and will be made into the more olive-colored green in a future update.

GENERAL
  • Agarthan Cache is now available again! Acquire missing items from your collection!
  • Fixed character skin textures

CLOTHING
  • Magus and Gunslinger outfit pieces awarded by the respective achievement can again be worn by all factions. The legacy single-piece uniforms are unchanged.

What a wild year it’s been, agents. We’ve all been through quite a ride over the past year with the launch of Secret World Legends – experiencing soaring highs, aaaand some bumps along the road, but all in all keeping it together, thanks to you. We can’t thank you all enough for your love and support. You are all made of stars!

Anyway, let’s talk about the FIRST ANNIVERSARY EVENT!

ENGAGE – THE TALOS OF GAIA:

The Talos of Gaia
The Immaculate Machine gives you treats, sweetling. She excretes life into hulking husks of matter and energy! Discover and play with one of 11 Talos of Gaia through the event portals in Agartha.  The portal will open approximately 2 minutes at the hour (e.g. 11:02, 12:02, etc.).

These golems will cycle in a fashion that will allow everyone to eventually see all 11 golems, even if you only have time to play for 1 boss fight per day.

Defeating the Talos will allow you to open the Buzzing Hive, an extra item you get every day alongside event login rewards! Plus, the Talos have a chance at dropping items to fill out your Museum of the Occult! The legends needed to complete the museum are available (year-round) - it's up to you to discover their locations around the world.


Shards of Corruption
The crystallized quintessence of corruption and rage lies at the heart of each Talos. The Gatekeeper may have use for them…

New Daily Event Login Rewards
Log in to receive a free special gift every day during the event, including THE MALUS RUN sprint! AARGH, NOT THE BEES!

Anniversary Cache
Chock full o’ new goods and remixed classics. Only available during the Anniversary! After the event ends, the Agarthan Cache will make its return.

Party Like It’s…2018
Agartha is dressed up for the occasion with party favors and destructible piñatas you can smack for free loot!

  • Mobs - cel Rau, the Questioner in the Besieged Farmlands will no longer pace anxiously.
  • Achievements - The Purge - Fixed some hyenas respawning too quickly
  • Combat - Signet of Agility - Active Dodges that do not go on cooldown now properly interrupt/avoid Sniper attacks.
  • Crafting - Fixed glyphs showing errant xp when empowering items.
  • GUI - Fixed a case that could cause open world boss map markers to not clean up when the boss died.
  • AI - Improved behavior of a small set of monsters who do not move during combat (Neesh-Um, Research Assistant in The Ankh, and more). These monsters will now behave more intelligently and drop out of combat less easily.

Titles
  • Fixed a typo in the title "Unstoppable" that made it look like "Shadow Puppeteer".
  • Jane Dagover will no longer sell you duplicate titles.

Agent Network
  • Mission chain progress is now retained when relogging or changing zones.
  • Fixed bonus rewards appearing with mis-matched traits. This is purely a visual change, actual rewards unchanged.
  • Dossiers purchased from Dr Caligari in Agartha can now be sold back for a full refund.

Missions
New England
  • Off the Menu - Fixed a case where Silent Trickster could become permanently invisible and unattackable.
  • Maine Chainsaw Massacre
      Fixed some zombies not counting towards mission progress.
    • Updated to use improved hotbar and weapon swapping tech.
    • A visual and gameplay pass have been performed to improve both the look and feel.
Egypt
  • Black Sun, Red Sand - It should no longer be possible to lose your story mission when entering Scorched Desert for the first time.
  • A Time To Every Purpose - Fixed a desync when crafting.
  • The Eye of the Dream for Tainted Dreams in Scorched Desert can no longer be used if you are on the goals to find or defend Hassan Kamil (Black Sun, Red Sand).
  • In the Dusty Dark - Fixed torches not being interactive after dying.
Transylvania
  • Root of the Problem - Moved map marker to more accurately match the quest area.
  • Selected Memories - The Type-X Reckless guarding the Secret documents in Selected Memories can be baited away from his post once again.
Tokyo
  • Korinto-Kai - Assault markers will now appear for the mini-mart defense.
  • Access Denied - Will now be properly removed from your journal when leaving the area.
South Africa
  • Pausing and resuming "Whitewashing" or "Vermin Cleanup Detail" will now cause the objects at the job board to properly respawn.

  • Hostile Snipers
      The grace period while a player character will not be targeted by a sniper is now visible in the buff tray, and is called Low Value Target.
    • Low Value Target - Increased duration to 22 seconds.
    • Low Value Target - Avoiding a sniper shot via Active Dodge further increases the duration of Low Value Target to 32 seconds.
    • Damage now scales with both the player's Max HP, and the difficulty level of the scenario. Snipers can no longer 1-shot player characters.
  • Friendly Snipers - Damage done increased by 25%.
  • The Castle - Fixed supply crates sometimes spawning outside playable bounds
  • Fixed a case where mutated monsters and bosses would not appear on the map
  • Fixed a case where mutated monsters and bosses would not be removed from the map after death
  • Supply Drop - Bear Arms - Fixed blank message displayed when attempting to arm a Survivor with a weapon, but there are no unarmed Survivors in range.
  • The Hotel - Improved rubble collision to prevent IEDs being placed underneath rubble.
Lairs
  • The damage from Vulkan’s Cryo Tank Release will now properly line up with the visuals.
  • Kaidan - Lair mission pickups are now displayed on the map.
