Variant: Friend of Nature
Every night, zombies are attacking a nature-loving village
  • In addition to the core 12 Champions, you may only use Ranger, Druid, and/or Barbarian Champions.
  • Friendly animals take up slots in your formation. You start out with one slot taken up by a friendly animal, then every 50 areas a new animal joins your team, until there are 6 animals.
  • Complete Area 200
Unearthed Evil

Variant: Waves of Evil
A local mine needs some evil help to solve an evil goblin problem
  • In addition to the core 12 Champions, you may only use Evil Champions.
  • All monsters emanate waves of shadowy evil upon spawning and every 5 seconds after that. Each wave deals 10% max health damage against a random Champion.
  • Complete Area 200
Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden


The Netherese Necropolis

Variant: Cryophilic Combatants
Search the city for more Arcane Octad clues while fighting back enemies that thrive in the cold.
  • You may only use Champions that are 75 years old or more.
  • 1-2 White Abishai spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count toward quest progress.
  • Whenever a Champion takes damage, their base attack cooldown is increased by 0.5 seconds until the area changes, stacking additively.
  • Complete Area 675
Cold as Ice

Variant: Pay the Price
Continue to hunt for the clues of the Rite of the Arcane Octad with Champions who are not foreign to the ways of wealth.
  • You may only use Champions with the gold find role.
  • 1-2 Mezzoloth mercenaries spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count toward quest progress.
  • Other enemies drop 99.99% less gold.
  • Complete Area 700
Friends and Foes

Variant: Fiendishly Fierce
As the factions within Ythryn close in around the Champions, they definitely learn who is in it for themselves.
  • You may only use Drow Champions.
  • 1-2 Spined Devils spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress.
  • You may not remove Champions from the formation. (They can be moved as normal.)
  • Non-boss area requirements are reduced by 5% for each empty formation slot, stacking additively.
  • Complete Area 725
The Spire of Iriolarthas

Variant: Class Clown
Gain the final clue to enter the Spire of Iriolarthas while fighting space clowns.
  • You may only use Chaotic Champions.
  • Champion damage is reduced by 99% for each Champion in the formation that is not a Bard, stacking multiplicatively.
  • 1-2 ranged Space Clowns attack with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count toward quest progress.
  • Complete Area 750
The Fall of Ythryn

Variant: Xerophon's Ythryn Zenith
Destroy the Ythryn Mythalar with Xerophon!
  • Xerophon starts in the formation with their ultimate unlocked. They can be moved but not removed.
  • After area 10, Champions can only deal damage while Xerophon is imitating an enemy with their Perfect Imitation ultimate attack.
  • Champions can't be removed from the formation once they have been added.
  • Every 50 areas, a random Champion that matches the highest number of Xerophon's specialization choices is removed from the formation and can not be used again in the adventure. In the case of a tie, a random tied Champion is picked. If you have not chosen any spec choices for Xerophon, a random Champion is picked. Xerophon themself is never removed.
  • Fire breath potions can't be used during the adventure, and click damage has no effect after area 100.
  • Complete Area 775
    • Additional Rewards:
      • 5 Modron chests
      • New Feat for Xerophon: Guardian of Icewind Dale: Xerophon may be used in any Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden adventure or variant when a patron is enabled, even if the patron or variant restrictions would normally restrict them.

  • 1-2 Mezzoloths spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count toward quest progress.
  • A Shadow Demon spawns at the start of each Boss area. It must also be defeated to progress.

  • Hitch joins the formation. He can be moved but not removed.
  • Two other Hitches take up two slots in the formation but are confused and don't attack.
  • 1-2 Merregons spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count toward quest progress.

Variant: We Take It Fey by Fey
Begin to explore the Outlands, and find a walking castle and some flying fey!
  • You may not use Champions with melee attacks.

  • 1-2 Pixies spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count toward quest progress.

Item Level QoL Updates


We've been working on additional quality of life improvements when it comes to the visibility of item levels in Idle Champions, arriving with today's update!

Tracking your progress through item level increases has become much more important over the lifetime of Idle Champions, and now it will be easier than ever!

Players will be able to see item levels more prominently on equipment cards, increases to item levels while opening chests, more details in Champion Profiles, and more. Log in before February 5th, 2025, to unlock Hew Maan and collect 6 free Platinum Hew Maan Chests so you can experience these updates!

  • 1-2 Gazers spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress.
  • In each boss area, an additional Beholder boss with more health than normal spawns with the second wave. All other monsters are immune to damage until this Beholder is defeated.

Construct Emergence
January's theme of Dungeons & Dragons Constructs continues with the Construct Emergence!

Various constructs are coming. They cannot be reasoned with. They do not feel emotion like pity or fear... and they absolutely will not stop until they succeed in taking your party down! Defeat Construct enemies in Free Play to earn Corrupted Gems for the Thayan Enclave.

The Construct Emergence runs until Friday, January 31st.

Mehen is a tall, powerful dragonborn with dull-ocher scales and a blunt attitude. With strong opinions on the right course of action, he is just as comfortable yelling orders on the battlefield as he is fiercely protecting his daughters. Despite a life thrown into turmoil after being exiled from his clan and attempting to raise twin tieflings, Mehen remains resilient in his sense of self and his abilities with a falchion.

Verthisathurgiesh Mehen has been greatly reworked with this update. He is no less grumpy, but he should now be much easier to use -- assuming you can find the perfect spot for him in your formation!

  • Gruff - Mehen increases Gold Find of the formation by 100% for every stack of Grumpy that he has, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Expose Weakness - When a Champion adjacent to Mehen applies a stun, knockback, slow, or root, the enemy takes 1000% more damage for 10 seconds. If Farideh is adjacent to Mehen, she prioritizes attacking those enemies. This debuff does not stack, but the duration is extended if it applies again before it expires.

  • Fighting Force - Mehen increases the effect of Grumpy by 100% for each DPS Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively and applying to the post-stack value.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms - Idle Champions

It's considered lucky to possess and examine a map on Wintershield, so put on your most durable boots and head out into the streets of Waterdeep to claim one for yourself!

Wintershield 8 runs from January 1st–22nd and introduces Eric the Cavalier, whom some of you may recognize from the 1980s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon. Our first Featured Champion, Eric is a Support, Tanking, and Gold Find Champion with knockback capabilities. Eric can be unlocked starting today.

Our second Featured Champion is none other than Verthisathurgiesh Mehen, dragonborn mercenary and adoptive father of twin tiefling daughters. Mehen is the latest Champion to receive a significant rework, and he will become available to unlock starting next week on January 8.

  • Corrupted Gem Scavenger - Eric can help scavenge up to 5000 additional Corrupted Gems when killing bosses. While this cap is not reached, Eric has a 10% chance of 10 Corrupted Gems each time a boss is defeated. The cap increases by 150 every day.

  • In each non-boss area, there is a 25% chance that 5 Modrons spawn before the first wave. The number of Modrons spawned increases by 5 for every 50 areas completed, capped at 50 Modrons. They drop no gold nor count towards quest progress.
  • While any Modron enemy is alive, non-Modron enemies can't take damage.
  • Complete Area 1200.

  • Gehenna's Heights - Local: Increase the damage of all Champions in bench seats of 7 or higher by 100%

  • The Mercy of Hades - Local: Monsters killed in their first second after spawning have a 10% chance to count for an additional quest progress.

Welcome to our 2024 End of Year Update!

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for supporting Idle Champions this year through some very big transitions. We started the year with our seventh season in January, rolled out Guide and Collections Quests in February, introduced Events 2.0 in March, and transitioned to Platinum in October. It has been a very busy year!

In this update, we're addressing some long-running player feedback with multiple QoL changes. We're also fixing some over-tuned Champion scaling issues, with dismantles for affected Champions to compensate. While this update does not address everything players have been asking for, there's a lot to be excited about that will make your Idle Champions experience smoother and more fun, no matter what kind of player you are!

Active Tasks


Introducing a new UI feature to help you find your next quest, the Active Tasks Dialog!

We want this to be a one-stop shop when you question what to do next. From here, you can quickly check which Guide and Collection Quests are closest to being completed, your current Event completion progress, Daily Rewards, and more! The Active Task Dialog will now pop up instead of Daily Rewards on initial load, since they are incorporated into this dialog.

You can access this dialog from the exclamation mark button above the bench next to the event button.

UI Changes

Here are all the upcoming changes to the UI you can expect to see!
Champion Search Update
  • The Champion Search feature has been updated with a new feature to help you search based on a Champion's attack speed! This can be found in the Base Attack filter as a sliding bar.
Collections Update
The following changes have been made to the Collections screen:
  • Added Debuff role to the Champion Collection filter
  • Improved performance of scrolling many collections
  • Added Shiny/Golden indication to the Equipment Collection
  • Added Event to source filter for the Feat Collection
  • Guide and Collection quest box indicates how many quests are ready to turn in
  • Collections: Added new color coding system to progress bars:
    • Light Green counts towards Progress
    • Gold counts towards Premium Progress
    • Dark Green does not count towards overall progress
  • Collections: Time Gates no longer counts towards overall progress
  • Collections: Campaign progress now includes progress from campaigns you have not yet unlocked
Gameplay Changes

Area Cap Increase
  • We've increased the highest area from 2001 to 2501! Hope your formation is ready to tackle the incredibly powerful monsters in these higher areas!
New Feats
We're adding in some highly requested Feats for 2 Champions: Nrakk and Briv!
  • Heightened Focus: Increases the damage of all Champions by 10% and Nrakk's ultimate now hits once and sets his Ki Points to 15 without any mini-game. This will be added to Nrakk's Feat list!
  • Perfect Focus: Increases the damage of all Champions by 200% and Nrakk's ultimate now hits once and sets his Ki Points to 30 without any mini-game. This can be found in Vajra's Patron shop for 100,000 Symbols of Vajra.
    • If both the Heightened Focus and Perfect Focus Feats are equipped, the 30 ki points will take precedence when using the ultimate.
  • Accurate Acrobatics: Briv's Unnatural Haste will always skip the guaranteed number of areas, with no chance to skip an additional one. This can be found in Mirt's Patron shop for 100,000 Ruby Coins.
    • Note: The launch for this Feat has been delayed while we address last-minute bugs discovered in testing. We hope to release it before the end of the year.
Spurt Update
  • We've implemented a cap on Spurt's slot 6 equipment item, Ultimate Cooldown. Its maximum increase is now 5280 seconds while at an item level cap of 21750, without any gilding.
    • We'll be enabling a 1 week full dismantle for Spurt due to this change. All item levels over the cap will be refunded automatically.
Rust Update
We've had to change some of Rust's numbers to help balance him; see the changes below.
  • Rust's base effect of his One Gold Piece ability has been changed from 10% to 5%
  • Rust's effect of his "I Know Those Guys" Feat has been changed from 20% to a 10% increase to the effect of One Gold Piece
  • Rust's effect of his "All I Need" Feat changed from 40% to a 20% increase to the effect of One Gold Piece
    • We'll be enabling a 1 week full dismantle for Rust due to these changes.
Yorven Update
  • We've updated Yorven's Danger Sense ability so that it now targets all Champions in the formation and is no longer positional.
Dungeon Master Update
  • Dungeon Master's Specialization Special Guest Star has been updated to target the full seat of Champions now rather than 1 singular Champion!
Fen Update
  • Fen's Patron Oath has been updated so that as long as she is in a party, her Patron's Oath will affect all parties.
Gem Shop & Store Update
  • Harvestguard Presto will be available for 20,000 gems in the Gem Shop, and the Feat that was available during the Anniversary Celebration (Room to Breathe) is now available for 50,000 gems!
  • Additionally, with this update, we will retire our Starter Packs, replacing them with new ones that include Platinum. You will find them on the Platinum purchase page in the in-game shop.

    Stami Gackle was a fun-loving and reckless youth, but she fled her home when this carefree nature invited tragic loss into her life. She found shelter in Waterdeep with the monks of the Order of the Even-Handed, who gave her a new name and trained her in their ways. Now a capable adventurer, Stoki approaches problems with intense focus and careful consideration, having earned a reputation for being uncommonly stoic. However, Stoki's patient demeanor belies a warrior's ferocity, as she unleashes a rapid flurry of masterful blows to any foe who refuses to back down.
Stoki has received a significant rework along with a new niche focused on Champions who attack quickly. To support her kit, we are updating the Champion Search starting today as builds roll out to allow players to search by Champions based on their base attack cooldown. Abilities
Basic Attack
  • Flurry of Blows(melee) -
    Stoki leaps out and attacks random enemies with her fists.
Formation Abilities
  • Focused Strike - When Stoki attacks, she gains a Focus Point for each enemy she hits. She increases the damage of all Champions with a base attack cooldown of 4.0s or faster by 10% for each Focus Point she has, stacking multiplicatively. Focus Points cap at 100 and are reduced by 50% (rounded down) when changing areas.
  • Golden Palm - Enemies that have been attacked by Stoki at any point in the current area drop 100% more gold when killed for each Focus Point she has, stacking additively.
  • Building Focus - Stoki keeps track of the total Focus Point she has gained in the current adventure. If Stoki's Focus Points are capped for a given area, she still counts new ones towards this ability. Upon reaching certain milestones, the following effects activate:
    - 100 Focus Points: Encouragement - Champions adjacent to Stoki have their base attack cooldowns lowered by 0.5s.
    - 1000 Focus Points: Flurry of Blows - For every 1000 levels Stoki has, she attacks an additional target with each attack. She prefers to attack different targets but will attack the same target multiple times if she has already attacked everyone.
    - 5000 Focus Points: Leadership - Champions adjacent to Stoki have a 0.45% chance to reset their base attack cooldown after attacking for each Focus Point she currently has. Caps at 90%.
    - 12500 Focus Points: Overflow - When Stoki attacks an enemy that she already attacked, there is a 20% chance the enemy will be stunned for 3 seconds.
    - 25000 Focus Points: Explosion - If Stoki hits the same enemy two or more times with the same base attack, power radiates from the enemy, dealing 5 seconds worth of BUD damage to itself and all other nearby enemies. Triggers with each extra hit.
  • Frenzied Friends - Stoki additively increases the Focus Points cap of Focused Strike by 10 for each Champion in the formation whose base attack cooldown is 4.0s or lower.
Specializations
  • All Out Assault - Stoki tracks the number of attacks her allies have performed in the past 10 seconds and increases the effect of Focused Strike by 15% for each one, stacking multiplicatively.
  • Bend It Like Birdsong - Stoki counts the number of Champions in the formation with a DEX score of 16 or higher. For each such Champion, her base attack cooldown is decreased by 0.1 seconds, stacking additively, and the effect of Focused Strike is increased by 100%, stacking multiplicatively.
  • A Little Bit Faster Now - Stoki reduces the base attack cooldown of all Champions with a default base attack cooldown of 6.0 seconds or higher to 4.0 seconds so that they qualify for Frenzied Friends. Their damage is increased by 100% for every 0.1 seconds their base attack cooldown is reduced by this ability, stacking multiplicatively.
Ultimate Ability

  • Quivering Palm(melee) -
    Stoki leaps out and attacks five random enemies with extremely powerful palm thrusts. Over the next 10 seconds, all affected enemies take massive damage over time.
