Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms - ChaoticEye
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024 we will introduce a new unique currency, Platinum, to Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. Moving forward, Platinum will be the primary way to purchase items from the in-game Shop.
Introducing Platinum will dramatically increase efficiency and flexibility behind the scenes. It allows us to bring in new features like Daily Rewards, where players can claim Platinum and other rewards by playing the game, and Weekly Offers, which will give players more freedom to purchase individual items normally bundled into packs.
With this update we are also introducing Platinum Chests, a new tier of Chests only available through Platinum purchases that grants significantly increased item levels. Platinum Chest Packs also contain double the number of chests compared to Gold Chest Packs. Due to the significance of this change, we will be retroactively crediting additional Platinum Chests to eligible purchases made since September 1, 2024 when this update goes live.
As part of these exciting changes, all of our in-game shop items and platform DLC have had their pricing reviewed and updated. It was important to us that the switch to Platinum did not increase individual item prices - in fact, many items now come in at a slightly lower cost overall than before. For example, Theme Packs and Renown Packs have had their prices reduced 17% and 20%, respectively*. While the switch to Platinum applies to most in-game shop items, a select number of packs will remain as real money purchases on individual platform stores.
Overall, your money will go much further in this new system, and as an added bonus, your first purchase of each Platinum Pack option will reward double Platinum!
For additional information, please read the FAQs for each topic below.
*Prices for Theme Packs and Renown Packs reduced 17% and 20%, respectively when purchasing an equivalent platinum pack as the original $27.99 Theme Packs and $59.99 Renown Packs.
Please note that screenshots in this blog reflect a work in progress version of the Platinum, Daily Rewards, Weekly Offers, and Platinum Chest update. The finalized versions may differ in layout or appearance.
Platinum FAQ
What is Platinum?
Platinum is a unique currency that can be used to purchase items in the shop.
How do I get Platinum?
Platinum is primarily purchased for real money in the in-game shop, but small amounts can also be earned in-game. You can claim free Platinum every day from your Daily Rewards. Small amounts of Platinum also occasionally appear as a free item in the Weekly Offers shop.
What can I buy for Platinum?
Platinum can be used in the Shop to purchase Chests, Champions, Packs, Wild Offers, and items in the Weekly Offers shop.
What is the Weekly Offers shop?
The Weekly Offers shop offers five unique items each week for a variety of discounts. The items can include familiars, golden epic equipment, skins, and epic feats from retired packages (otherwise known as the wild offer pool), as well as chests, Champions, potions, rare feats, and more. Most items in the Weekly Offers shop cost Platinum, but some cost gems, and some items are even free! If you want to get more offers each week, you can reroll individual offers for a small amount of Platinum. Check back every week to see what items are available for you!
How do Daily Rewards work?
Each day you can claim free Platinum and other items from your Daily Rewards. If you miss a day, you miss those rewards, so make sure to play the game and claim the rewards every day!
What is Daily Boost?
For a small amount of real money, you can unlock Daily Boost. This grants a moderate amount of Platinum upfront and then increases all of the Platinum rewards you claim from Daily Rewards for 30 days.
Why use Platinum instead of real money?
Platinum as an in-game currency offers several key advantages over only using real money:
Earn Platinum for Free: This allows us to reward our players in-game with currency that can be used to purchase items in the shop that would otherwise be sold for real money. All you have to do is play the game!
More Flexibility: Not only does this allow us to easily align sales across platforms, but with the added Weekly Offers system, it allows more freedom to purchase individual items that are normally bundled together.
More Efficiency: This will allow us to reduce the amount of DLC we create on various platform storefronts, saving significant time behind the scenes. Instead, items will go directly into the in-game shop.
Why are there some DLC packs only available for real money?
Some packs are available for real money so that Idle Champions can continue to be included in platform sales events and promotions. These packs and their unique contents will not be available for Platinum until after they are retired and their items enter the Wild Offer pool.
Do items cost more with Platinum than they did with real money?
All existing items are either equal in cost or cheaper than they were previously due to the bonuses you can get by purchasing larger denominations of Platinum at once. There are some cases where, due to the Platinum pack sizes, you may need to buy a pack that contains more Platinum than you currently need in order to make a purchase. However, the leftover Platinum can still be used to purchase additional items - and if it is not enough to purchase something else, it can be saved up and combined with free Platinum from Daily Rewards until it is enough.

Daily Rewards FAQ
What are Daily Rewards?
Each day, you can claim free Platinum and other items from your Daily Rewards. There are seven days per reward set, and if you miss a day then you miss out on that reward.
What is Daily Boost?
For a small amount of real money, you can unlock Daily Boost. This grants a moderate amount of Platinum up front and then increases all of the Platinum rewards you claim from Daily Rewards for 30 days. You can retroactively claim your additional Platinum on the day you purchase Daily Boost even if you've already claimed that day's rewards.
Weekly Offers FAQ
What are Weekly Offers?
Your Weekly Offers shop offers five unique items each week for a variety of discounts.
What do the rarity colors mean?
The rarity of each offer indicates how big the discount is relative to the largest Weekly Offer discount you could see for that item. Different items have different discount rates, so a rare (blue) discount on one item could be different from a rare discount on another.
How do rerolls work?
If you want to get more offers each week, you can reroll individual offers for a small amount of Platinum. Each reroll will generate a new offer for a random item with a rarity at least as high as the old offer.
What are these "free" offers? What's the catch?
They're free! Enjoy! Be sure to check your offers every week in case there's a free item for you!
Platinum Chests FAQ
What are Platinum Chests?
Platinum Chests refer to Platinum-level Chests, a new more powerful tier of chests above Gold-level chests.
How do I get Platinum Chests?
When you purchase chests with Platinum you now will, in most cases, receive a pack of Platinum-level chests instead of Gold-level chests. Platinum Chest Packs contain twice as many chests as Gold Chest Packs, so a purchase that used to award 7 Gold-level chests now awards 14 Platinum-level chests. As an example, buying an Artemis Skin & Feat Pack will now award 14 Platinum Artemis Chests, instead of 7 Gold Artemis Chests. Platinum Chests can not currently be obtained without spending Platinum.
What do Platinum Chests contain?
Platinum chests contain the same items at the same odds as Gold chests, and they even share an epic pity timer with Gold-level chests, but they have one important distinction: duplicate equipment found in Platinum Chests awards 30 additional item levels. When combined with the increased number of chests awarded in packs, this means that Platinum Chest Packs increase a Champion's average item level by considerably more than Gold Chest Packs, granting far more power and progression.
Are there chests that do not have a Platinum level?
Yes. Supply Chests, Modron Component Chests, and Glory of Bahamut Chests do not have Platinum-level versions, as they do not contain Champion equipment.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms - ChaoticEye
A young Eladrin woman, raised to be the Queen of Koshmarr, what was meant to be an idyllic life took a dark turn on the night of her wedding. Pulled into the machinations of greater powers, she found herself in Mordent, now one of the many wandering ghosts. A person of great interest both to Azalin Rex and Strahd, she sought to negotiate her freedom from these dread domains. Her longtime companions and their newfound friends wanted the same and imbued her soul into Desmond’s sword. As they traveled in search of returning her soul to her body, Voronika took matters into her own hands and used the Crown of the Raven Queen to defeat Zybilna and cause the fall of Prismeer. This action drew the mists to Voronika and soon she discovered herself a new darklord in her domain of Koshmarr.
Voronika has received a significant rework to help streamline and simplify her overall design. For details about Voronika's updated design, read on...

Abilities
Basic Attack
Produce Flame (magic) - Voronika creates a flame in her hand which she fires at a random enemy. If Voronika has achieved her Darklord form, the target is lit on fire and takes 1 second of BUD damage every second for 5 seconds.
Passive Abilities
Wed, then Undead - After being killed on her wedding night, Voronika became a ghost. The following rules apply:
Voronika can be attacked like normal and she can be "killed", at which point it stops granting all effects like any dead Champion would.
Voronika counts as "undead" for the purposes of effects that care about dead Champions (Desmond), but "alive" for all other purposes. She still counts as undead even after reaching her Darklord form.
Formation Abilities
Puppet Master - Voronika claims the BUD-setting Champion as her Puppet. The damage of her chosen Puppet is increased by 100%. Voronika only changes her Puppet if a different Champion is the BUD-setting Champion for more than 30 seconds in a row. Voronika's Puppet gains the Black Dice Society affiliation.
Calculating Guidance - Voronika increases the damage of all Champions in one column in front of her by 100%. Voronika's key allies are members of the Black Dice Society. The effect of this ability is increased by 100% for each key ally in the formation. This stacks additively until Voronika completes her Search for the Crown, when it changes to stack multiplicatively.
Search for the Crown - Voronika's search for the Crown of the Raven Queen requires her to complete 3 goals. When Voronika completes all 3 goals, she acquires the crown, transforms into her Darklord Form, unlocks her ultimate attack, and improves her base attack. Her goals include:
Voronika reaches level 750
Use 50 Ultimate Attacks with other Champions
One additional goal unlocked by her first Specialization choice.
Speed Run - The effect of Puppet Master is increased by 10,000%. This value multiplicatively decreases by 10% five minutes after the adventure starts and decreases by another 10% for every minute after that, but doesn't decrease after Voronika has completed her Search for the Crown.
Ultimate Power - Voronika increases the effect of Calculating Guidance by .1% for each use of an Ultimate while she is in the formation, stacking multiplicatively. Caps at 100,000 stacks. These stacks persist until reset.
Specializations A
Embrace Evil - For the third Quest for the Crown goal, Calculating Guidance'skey allies must kill 2,500 enemies. The key allies for Calculating Guidance now also include Champions who have the Evil alignment.
Hunt The Favored - For the third Quest for the Crown goal, you must kill 500 enemies who are the Favored Foe of any Champion in the formation. The key allies for Calculating Guidance now also include Champions who have a Favored Foe.
Weaken The Fools - For the third Quest for the Crown goal, you must apply 1750 Debuffs to enemies. The key allies for Calculating Guidance now also include Champions who have the Debuff role.
Specializations B
Battle Magic - Voronika's Puppet additionally casts an explosive magic missile at a random target after each attack which deals 1000% of their normal damage to all enemies in a small area.
Powerful Focus - Voronika's Puppet has all of their incoming positional damage effects increased by 75%, and their basic attack now knocks back any enemies it hits a short distance.
Strike First, Strike Hard - Voronika's Puppet attacks 1.0 seconds faster and their damage is increased by 150% for each Champion adjacent to them, stacking multiplicatively.
Ultimate Ability
Horrifying Visage - Voronika moves in front of the party, magically pushing back all monsters a short distance, especially the ones in front. All enemies take ultimate damage, and then all surviving enemies deal 90% less damage for 30 seconds. In addition, the boss/enemy enrage timer fills 200% slower for 30 seconds.

Once the Lieutenant of Vecna, Kas betrayed his former master in a fight resulting in the dreaded artifacts, the Hand and Eye of Vecna. Kas is a vampire, legendary swordfighter, and ruthless warlord, and he is driven primarily by one thing: his hatred for Vecna.
Kas is a DPS and Healing Champion that excels when used with Evil Champions. In addition, this Vampire Lord can turn living Champions into his thralls, granting the ability to recover lost hit points with every attack they make. Once unlocked, you can find this Human Fighter in Seat 6 (Asharra).
Vengeful Swing (Melee) - Kas moves up to the closest enemy and swings his sword, dealing one hit to all enemies in a small area.
Formation Abilities
Vampire Lord - Kas is Undead and counts as "dead" for the purposes of effects that care about dead Champions, but "alive" for all other purposes. Via his abilities, Kas may cause one or more other Champions in the formation to become his Vampire Spawns, which are also Undead.
Born Into Evil - Kas increases his damage by 100% for each Evil Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
Mortal Pawns - Every time an area is completed, Kas gains Pawn stacks equal to the number of Champions in the formation that are not one of his Vampire Spawns. Each Pawn stack increases the effect of Born Into Evil by 0.5, stacking multiplicatively.
Life Drain - When an Undead Champion in the formation attacks, they regain 50 Hit Points.
Spawn of Kas - When a Champion that is not already Undead dies, they immediately resurrect at full health as a Vampire Spawn, counting as Undead for the rest of the adventure. The effect of Born Into Evil is increased by 100% for each Undead Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.
Specializations
Kas the Bloody Handed - Kas increases the effect of Life Drain by 100% and Evil Champions attack faster as their base attack cooldown is reduced by 0.5 seconds.
Kas the Betrayer - Kas' damage against Boss enemies is increased by 100%, and the effect of Born Into Evil is increased by 100% for each Undead Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively
Kas the Destroyer - Increase the effect of Born Into Evil by 100%. In addition, Champions adjacent to Kas gain the Evil tag. This does not affect their other alignment tags, and doesn't affect whether they are eligible for the adventure.
Ultimate Ability
Rise, Fallen Soldier! (Magic) - Kas summons two specters that move towards enemies, dealing ultimate damage each second for 15 seconds.

Welcome to our preview for the Liar's Night Event Augments!
Our second Year 8 Event launches on Wednesday, October 2nd, and marks the debut of our first Augment to become a permanent Event feature! Liar's Night 8 will feature two returning Augments and two new Augments. For more information about which Event Augments will be active, read on!
Event Augment Graduation Ceremony
Event Augments are unique modifiers to each event that can enhance almost any aspect. When M-M-M-ulti-Tier hit the scene on Ahghairon's Day, it was clear that this upgrade was exactly what the Augment system was made for. Player sentiment reinforced our gut feeling that M-M-M-ulti-Tier was an Augment that needed to stay. It remained as an Augment in Highharvestide, and as of Liar's Night next week, it has graduated to become a permanent Event feature!

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms - ChaoticEye
Weighing in at just under 30 pounds and with a grandmotherly demeanor befitting her advanced age, Rosie Beestinger is easily mistaken for someone on the wrong side of the 'aggressor/victim' relationship. But this is a mix-up that few people make more than once.
Originally released in March 2019, Rosie Beestinger is a sassy Halfling Shadow Monk created by Kate Welch for Acquisitions Inc: The "C" Team. And now it is time for a Rosie rework!
Rosie has been significantly reworked to better lean into her niches - adventures with ranged enemies, and formations with younger Champions. In addition, she has been given a new niche as the first Champion who can affect the BUD decay rate. For more information about Rosie's updated design, read on...

Abilities
Basic Attack
Shadow Step - Rosie Shadow Steps behind one of the three closest enemies at random and hits them with a flurry of blows.
Formation Abilities
Sassy - Rosie deals +400% increased damage for every Champion in the formation younger than she is, stacking multiplicatively.
Deflect Missiles - Rosie gains a deflect stack every time she attacks. She can store up to 100 deflect stacks at once. Whenever an enemy attacks the formation with a ranged/magic attack, Rosie consumes a deflect stack and reflects it back at the attacker. The reflected attack deals Rosie's damage with a 100% additively increased chance of dealing a critical hit. This effect can trigger as often as necessary, as long as Rosie has deflect stacks available.
Timeless Body - Rosie gains a Timeless Body stack every time she successfully deflects a ranged/magic attack with Deflect Missiles. For each Timeless Body stack she has, Rosie increases the effect of Sassy by 1%, stacking additively. Stacks persist between adventures.
Slow Decay - Whenever Rosie is your BUD-setting Champion, the rate of BUD decay is decreased by 50%.
Shadow Arts - Rosie's critical hit damage is increased by 100% for every 100 levels she has been leveled up, stacking multiplicatively. Additionally, for every 4th attack, Rosie makes a Shadow Arts attack that deals 10 seconds worth of BUD damage to all enemies in a small area.
Specializations A
Matriarch - Increases the effect of Sassy by 100% for every Female or Nonbinary Champion in the formation who is younger than Rosie, stacking multiplicatively.
Familiar Friends - Increases the effect of Sassy by 100% for every Champion in the formation that belongs to the "C"-team, Acquisitions Incorporated, or Wafflecrew affiliations, stacking multiplicatively.
Grandmother Night - Increases the effect of Sassy by 100% for every Champion in the formation that is a Halfling, Rogue, or Monk, stacking multiplicatively.
Specializations B
Grandma-Bod - The damage bonus provided by Timeless Body stacks is increased by 200%, and whenever she deflects a ranged/magic attack with Deflect Missiles she gains 4 stacks of Timeless Body instead of 1.
Busy Beestinger - Rosie's attack speed cooldown is lowered by 0.5 seconds (stacking additively) and her damage is increased by 400% (stacking multiplicatively) for each member of the "C"-Team in the formation, including herself.
Slower Decay - Increases Rosie's critical hit damage by 600% and the effect of Slow Decay is set to 75%.
Ultimate Ability
Grammamancy - Rosie roots all enemies in place for 5 seconds and becomes a blur of movement, pummeling up to 10 enemies on screen for ultimate damage, and refilling her deflect stacks to max.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms - ChaoticEye
Faerûn's Savage Frontier has no shortage of dangers, but that hasn't stopped the citizens of Triboar from carving out a living in this picturesque stretch of fertile northern farmland.
This year, however, the people of Triboar are in need of aid. As the Highharvestide Festival approaches, bandits have begun causing trouble for farmers attempting to bring in their harvests, and it's up to the Champions to put an end to it!
Highharvestide 8 marks the beginning of Year 8 Events in Idle Champions and the beginning of Idle Champions 7th Anniversary Celebration! That's not confusing, is it?
But wait, there's more -- today also marks the launch of our latest Saturday Morning Squad member: Bobby the Barbarian!
Bobby is the first of the Featured Champions for Highharvestide 8, with the second, Rosie Beestinger, launching on Wednesday, September 11. Rosie's rework has been a long time coming, and we are excited to finally share with you what we've done.
Read on to learn more about Highharvestide 8 and the 7th Anniversary Celebration!

Players who unlock at least four of the daily rewards during the 7th Anniversary Celebration will unlock Presto (if he hasn't been unlocked yet) along with the Harvestguard Presto Skin, 3 Gold Presto Chests and an Epic Feat!
Featured Champions
Bobby the Barbarian
Bobby is the youngest of the group that was transported to the magical world of Dungeons & Dragons. As a brave and loyal Barbarian, he wields a powerful magical club that enhances his strength. Bobby has close ties to his sister Sheila and his pet unicorn, Uni. Despite his impulsiveness, Bobby's courage and determination are key assets in the search to find the way back home.
Learn more about Bobby in his Champion Spotlight. Bobby arrives today with the launch of Highharvestide!
Rosie Beestinger
Weighing in at just under 30 pounds and with a grandmotherly demeanor befitting her advanced age, Rosie Beestinger is easily mistaken for someone on the wrong side of the 'aggressor/victim' relationship. But this is a mix-up that few people make more than once.
Learn about Rosie's upcoming rebalance in her 2024 Champion Spotlight launching on Friday, September 6. The Rosie Rebalance arrives on Wednesday, September 11 at the beginning of Highharvestide Week 2.
