Moonlight special items

That's it! Mission 2018 is completed and it is now time for us to wish you all the best for 2019.

2018 has been a busy year for Hacktag. It started off with the release of the game February 14th (by the way, did you notice next Valentine's day is coming up very soon? How about that, eh?). Not less than 15 updates including 5 special events with the latest event being Winter Hacking ending this very day with this post. (version 1.1.4)

We are obviously thankful to every hacker who has played and supported Hacktag throughout the year, but also to all the newcomers who just joined the mercenary hackers army! If you haven't done so already, drop by our Hacktag's official Discord server to say hi.

Happy Holidays Hackers, today Hacktag starts celebrating the holidays with the comeback of the Winter Hacking special event, right on time for the beginning of well... winter.ːsteamhappyː

The Winter Hacking update

From today until January 7th, Hacktag celebrates the end of the year festivities with a special event. It contains special customizable elements and contents that you can unlock way more easily during this period.

Winter Hacking periodic special content:

12 Special Hacking Winter skins & a discount system
The loot rate for every Winter Hacking items is upgraded but that's not it.
The costs in coins for the specials items when an event is running are now reduced by half.


A Christmas Special short story:
What would be a holiday special episode without its special story? Spoiler alert*: The big red guy is back and needs your help to save Christmas.

In case you forgot to buy your Christmas gifts, the decoration in the levels should be a great reminder ;)

As you may have noticed, we have just published a small update to fix a few bugs while we were going through the game with a fine-tooth comb to prepare the field for something else... (My lips are sealed.) Here is the small patch note for your information.

• Fix: You can now open your loot safe anytime. (it was impossible to open it when the 3 items were coins.)
  
• Fix: Blocking bug on Level #009164E, the 2nd Antivirus now escorts to the right IDS

Hello hackers and...happy Hackoween... part 2!

Last year’s Hackoween special was Hacktag’s first ever seasonal event while the game was still on Early Access.

Man, it seems like yesterday… But what goes around, comes around and we definitely feel like sneaking into offices during a thunderstorm, wearing a pumpkin hat is still relevant, we are excited to announce that Hackoween is officially back for a season 2 starting… Today! Hooray!


Now that we are mastering this whole special event thing, we have sharpened our skills and this year’s Hackoween will be bringing way more content. You can watch the new trailer and check this out:


Remember Vlad Van Pire? The bat actor from those black and white vampire movies we all used to love? C'mon I'm sure you do ;)

Aaah the good, old days! Well, he’s back and needs your hacking skills to save his glorious final performance from the evil suits working at Clawmount Pictures.
So go help him for the love of ART.


You can now unlock the "Dr.Hackula" and "Dark Web" all new outfits. Yeah, we brainstormed pretty hardcore to find the names.

Also, the foxes were the last guys introduced into the Hacktag universe and therefore they did not have their Halloween special skin tones. This is now taken care of and jealous, they can no longer be.


Did you know? During the Hackoween period, the loot rate on every Halloween item is significantly increased, so don't miss the opportunity!

Hello Hackers!

This is it. Summer is coming to an end and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, getting a sweet tan thanks to the reflection of the sun on our monitors while working on this update! ːsteamhappyː

This patch mostly fixes gameplay issues you gently reported to us on Hacktag's official Discord server and the Steam forums (thanks again!). And of course, we are also busy preparing Hacktag's next cool thing... But we wouldn't want to spoil all the fun just yet, would we? (drum roll)



Here comes the patch note!

• Fix: When playing online, switching role doesn't break some game behaviors after playing a second game in a row.
  
• Fix: The "matching pairs" co-op mini-game to unlock doors is not creating game behavior issues anymore when playing online. (character stuck)
  
• Fix: The two players now always both see the matching pairs correctly validated when solving a co-op mini-game on a locked door.
  
• Fix: You cannot trigger another alarm when an alarm is already on.
  
• Fix: You cannot use skill (smoke bomb) after game end anymore.
  
• Fix: The mini-game to release the agent from jail won't be displayed anymore when the "continue window" appears.
  
• Fix: In the single-player mode, the co-op mode doesn't stay active anymore if one of the characters is caught.
  
• Fix: Colliders and stealth-triggers fixed in maps #000F9E44, #00206108
  and #000D03E
  
• Fix: the 2nd alarm is now correctly triggered in map #00006121
  
• Fix: The hacker won't be stuck anymore between 2 nodes when the agent uses a smoke bomb during an escort to jail.
  
• Fix: Level design issue with a table on map #0000460F was blocking the player during an escort to jail
  
• Fix: Netcode improvements regarding the mini-games.

Surprise! Hacktag is 50% off for a few days!

Since it's particularly hot this summer we thought you could use the cold sweat of stressful co-op stealth to cool down a little.
I don't know about your neck of the woods, but it has been hot as hell here and it got us thinking that some stressful co-op stealth induced cold sweat might be just the thing to cool down a bit.


In addition, we did the math and it turns out that this 50% off discount allows you to get 2 copies of Hacktag for the price of one. So, If you are looking for partners to sneak in together, it may be the right time to tell your friends!

In the meantime we have just released a new update containing all the fancy fixes below:

Menu and interface:
• Fix: In social menu with PS4 controllers L2/R2 now work properly to navigate.
  
• Fix: Pressing Shift or CAP Lock when adding a new friend is not closing the add friend panel anymore.
  
• Fix: The names of the owner of the story mission are now correctly displayed in the Lobby.
  
• Fix: After completing a full Story campaign, the character mission status is not displaying "-1" anymore.
  
  Gameplay:
  
• Fix: Scores of the two players are now correctly synched again when playing online.
  
• Fix: Blocking bug: If caught while activating a firewall, you will now be able to hack it again.
  
• Fix: Blocking bug: In Data Scavengers mission, the Boss mini game, the victory script is now always lead to a victory if the right amount of data has been download before.
  
• Fix: The story missions proposed to the two players won't be located in the same level anymore, if the mission is targeting the same corporation.
  
• Fix: You cannot use the hackroom skill to hack faraway computers from behind a wall.
  
• Fix: On Mac, you can now ping your partner with 1,2,3,4. (was causing a blocking issue in the hacker tutorial.)
  
• Fix: Jailbreaker skills used too soon after entering in a prison does not waste the skill anymore and properly opens the jail.
  
• Fix: The auto-validation of the password in the "memory" co-op door mini-game is now working properly every time.
  
• Fix: fixed: Using the smoke bomb when just being caught is not putting you anymore in a "ghost" state where you couldn't be detected again.
  
• Fix: fixed hacker tutorial, sometimes the finale coop door wasn't triggering the minigame if the hacker activated it before the agent was on it.
  
  
  Netwok:
  
• Fix: fixed issues of network connectivities related to regional formatting for some Russian players
  
• Fix: Server now facilitating NAT traversal has been migrated to avoid disconnections and allow Russian players to use it in addition to direct connections online games

We've just released a minor update to fix issues with few achievements which couldn't be unlocked correctly since a previous update we did a few days ago.


Here is the list:

Wow, just by listing those 10 achievements I counted 8 pop references in the titles. We should definitely take the time to explain them all someday... unless you can guess them. ;)


Anyway, we apologize to the achievement hunters, being a victim of this terrible addiction myself, I know how irritating it can be to miss a well-deserved trophy.
