PC Building Simulator - WiZZyWiGG

Hello PC Builders,

Are you ready for the next step in your career? Back in March when we released PC Building Simulator we never really knew what parts of the game players would enjoy. Of course we really hoped the Career mode would be one of them, and were pleased when it turned out to be the case!

We have been gathering feedback on this mode for a while now and over the last couple of months have been re-working various parts of the Career mode based on community feedback and our own wish list of things to fix. Today we are ready to release the bulk of these changes to get further feedback ahead of coming out of Early Access.

Please Note: As mentioned in our previous update existing save games are no longer compatible due to the amount of changes being made to the game. If you wish to continue with your current Career progress we have made v0.9.1 available via the Steam Beta Branch named: career_v1. You can switch to this in the following way:
  • Right click on PC Building Simulator in the Steam client
  • Select ‘Properties’
  • Select the ‘Betas’ tab
  • Select the ‘career_v1’ beta from the drop down box.
This version will no longer receive updates, so once you are completed with it please select the ‘None’ beta option to get the latest version of the game again.

A big thanks to all the closed beta testers of this update, your feedback was extremely useful, as was your bug reporting.

Build v0.9.2.5 Highlights

Updated Career Mode
There is a lot of changes but here are some of the highlights:

Clearer Pay
Jobs rewards are now split by labour and available budget to allow fairer pay for the work completed.

More Information
Players can now see the specifications of the PCs coming to them before they arrive.

Business Reputation
Customers now rate the work you do and your reputation adjusts the types of jobs you get. The new Bongle app allows you to track their feedback!

PC Bay
We have made various adjustments to how PC Bay is used by players by expanding its functionality. It now offers pre-built systems alongside regular parts and has a fluctuating market so keeping an eye out for a bargain is key!
In addition, you can now sell your own pre-built PCs via PC Bay.
A new Market app is available that allows you to monitor PC Bay market trends so you can make some extra cash by buying and selling when prices are right!

Free Build Change
Available cases are no longer stored in the storage cupboard, instead you will find these in the inventory (Press ‘I’ or click on the shelving in the workshop). You can store any completed PC builds in the cupboard as normal.

What’s Next?

Due to this major rework to the Career mode of PC Building Simulator we will be gathering your feedback and fixing up any critical problems over the coming weeks.

We will then be working on the road to v1.0 and our exit out of Early Access, so we will be hard at work adding new parts and polishing up various aspects ahead of this. There are still lots of exciting announcements to come!

As many of you have seen, we are currently testing Steam achievements. These will go live when ready, but they are likely to do so with v.1.0 of the game.

We look forward to the updated Career mode feedback.

Happy Building!

Hello PC Builders,

A few of you have been asking about when the next update will be, and to be honest, it has been a while since our last update.
Our next update has taken a little longer because it contains the changes to the career mode so as you can imagine it is a big update!
And it’s not just big, it’s big-big.

But, as long all the testing goes well, we do hope to release it at some point next week. Fingers crossed!

Thank you again for your patience and support, and we hope you will enjoy the new career experience!

Hello PC Builders,

If you are a fan of Razer hardware you will no doubt be aware of their Chroma lighting and should be pleased to learn that we now sync in-game PC LEDs with your real-world Razer hardware for that extra step to RGB greatness!
In PC Building Simulator the first LED listed in the lighting app of a built PC will automatically be reflected in colour and effect on your Razer hardware in the real-world.

The response to the Custom Loops update has been amazing, the whole team has loved seeing all the beautiful (and crazy) builds you have been making. Today we are fixing a bunch of issues that arose from that update as well as adding lots more hardware to build with...

What’s Next?

We are working full steam ahead on the career mode changes we’ve previously spoken about and we hope to release these changes/improvements in a few weeks time.

These changes however, have meant we needed to rework how the save games work, which means existing saves will not work once this career update releases. For people wanting to continue their existing save games, we do plan to keep a separate branch on Steam that will allow people to continue these on the last compatible release until they are ready to make the switch to the updated career mode. While this isn’t ideal, we believe the improvements to the career overall, should make it worthwhile.

Happy Building!

Hello PC Builders,

Your experience is about to get a whole lot cooler! Today we are pleased to be able to release our brand new Custom Water Cooling Loops feature into the game as it adds a major improvement to PC building customisation.

This initial release of the feature launches with our newest partner EKWB. It will allow builders to build fully working loops with either regular flexible tubing or if you want even more control, rigid tubing that you can route where you like in the case (space allowing of course), all with a range of coloured pipes and coolants to add even more style to your build!

Please note: Custom Water Cooling related career jobs will come with the career mode update which is coming at a later date, once we are sure it all works as planned.

Happy Custom Loop Building!

The PC Building Simulator Team

PC Building Simulator - WiZZyWiGG
Hello PC Builders,

We are now in the final development stages of the custom loop feature for the game and are hugely excited to bring EKWB into the PC Building Simulator family so that we can use their amazing products to build with!

EKWB are one of the biggest names in custom water cooling components so having them onboard is great news and we are pleased to be able to launch with them heading up this great new feature.

The release of custom loops in the game is still a few weeks away but we wanted to take this opportunity to answer a couple of the most commonly asked questions we get about this upcoming feature:

Can I design my own loop?

Yes, we have created a free-form route system for tubing so that you can design your own custom loops. These can be made from flexible or rigid tubing.

Will there be coloured liquids?

Yes, at launch there will be a wide range of coloured liquids to further customise your custom loops with.

As previously mentioned, we will be exhibiting PC Building Simulator at this years EGX, if you are attending the show please stop by the stand and you can get an early (work in progress) hands on play of this upcoming feature!

See you then,

The PC Building Simulator Team

What’s Next?

Steam Trading Cards are nearly ready to release, we are just awaiting approvals from Steam and then they will go live.
We have begun early development work on custom water cooling, this is still very early in the process but we will share more info on this as work progresses. This is the current major feature we are working on but we will continue to release new parts and fix bugs while this development is ongoing.

Happy Building!
