PC Building Simulator - WiZZyWiGG
Hello PC Builders,

Another week, another update. The team has been working non-stop going through feedback and bug reports while continuing to move the game forward so we can develop the core features planned on our roadmap.

This update includes the following highlights:

New Languages

The following new languages are now included from this update: French, German, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese.

Further language options will be reviewed as we progress through Early Access and more will be added based on feedback and player statistics.

As we are still in Early Access there is likely to still be a few issues with these languages (text overlaps, strings still being in English etc.) but please do just report these as you would any other bugs.

Music Player Update

One of our most requested features since we launched has been ‘let us play our own music via the ingame music player!’ so with this update you can do just this.

The music player now allows you play the games soundtrack (which will expand in time), mp3 files locally on your (real) PC and even Internet Radio streams. There is a range of internet radio streams included by default but you can also add to and adjust this list via the txt file found in the \PC Building Simulator\Data\ folder.

Key Binding

We have added the ability to rebind the keys used in the game, you can find this option in the Options menu.
This should help anyone struggling with the default controls or just want more control over what keys they wish to use.

AMD RX Vega 56 & 64 arrive

The reference RX Vega 56 and RX Vega 64 GPUs from AMD have been added to the game with this update.

Full Patch Notes:
  • New languages - French, German, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese.
  • Updated Music Player - You can now play local mp3 files or internet radio streams via the ingame music player found on your PC.
  • Added the AMD RX Vega 56 & 64 GPU
  • Added the ability to rebind keys.
  • Updated 3DMark data for some GPU’s/configurations.
    #Discussions_QuoteBlock_Author
Since the Dual-GPU update it was clear that some configuration data related to SLI/Crossfire was off, we have worked with 3DMark to adjust a range of GPU data to bring things back in line closer to reality.
  • 3DMark results screen should now show both GPUs in the system.
  • Exposed Coolers Air Flow data in the Shop & Inventory
    #Discussions_QuoteBlock_Author
Since the Dual-GPU update people have been bumping into the blue screen error that relates to the GPUs overheating, this is usually due to poor cooling in the case but there was no way to know which fans were better so this helps with this issue.
The PAEAN case is a special exception, we still need to find a way to adjust cooling for open frame designs such as this.
  • Another fix to stop 0 score 3DMark jobs from appearing.
  • Added an additional calendar to the wall near your office PC.
  • Monitor cables have been pinned down a bit to stop them coming through the screens.
  • Pressing the 1,2 or 3 keys when trying to search in the inventory should no longer close it.
  • Prices have had their font size increased in the shop.
  • Made some changes that should hopefully mean players (real-life) GPUs aren’t being pushed the max when v-sync is disabled.
  • Changed (again) how refresh rates are handled by default to try and fix issues with them.
    #Discussions_QuoteBlock_Author
If you need to select a different refresh rate could you please do the following:
    • Right Click the game in your Steam library
    • Click Properties
    • Under General click Set Launch Options…
    • Enter -window-mode exclusive and click OK
This should re-enable the option to select a supported rate by your machine in the options menu.

What’s Next?

Water Cooling is the main feature everyone wants, including us, which is why this work has now begun. We are however keen to make it clear this is not a quick update to do as we have multiple things to change in the game to support this feature and have a lot of assets to create to support it. You should expect it to be a few weeks before this feature is ready to go live.

We of course will continue to fix issues and add other content while this feature is being developed.

Thanks again for all the support and please continue to keep posting your bugs and feedback in the usual places!

Happy Building!

Hello PC Builders,

As mentioned last week we have been working on adding Dual GPU support the game and today we are pleased to be able to release that work.

The initial implementation of being able to add 2x GPUs to your builds is now complete, you will now have the option to add a second GPU after the first when building a PC and if that setup requires a bridge it will then connect the two cards together.

Currently there is only the one SLI HB bridge type available (the EVGA one in the image above) but we are working with other partners to add theirs so you can match them better to your selected cards in the future. Flexible SLI/Crossfire bridges will appear where applicable.

As ever, this is Early Access and this is a new feature, so as much as we test things as much as possible it doesn’t mean you won’t run into a few bugs. Please do report these as you have been doing and we will fix them when we can.

Patch Notes:
  • Dual GPUs are now an option when building PCs.
  • The Tool Upgrades from Career Mode are now available in Free Build.
(When in Free Build you can find these in Freebuild Options menu when pressing ‘Esc’)
  • You can now reset your Free Build mode save via the option in the above Freebuild Options screen.
  • Fixed a bug with the Diagnose and Fix job that meant it didn’t appear correctly.
  • Fixed being able to remove the top case fan section of the C700P case before removing the actual case fans.
  • Fixed benchmark jobs appearing that require a score of 0.
  • Fixed an issue where the Auto Cable tool on the NZXT H440 case would connect the CPU fan to the wrong place.
  • Fixed incorrect CPU height data for the PAEAN case, you should now be able to install a wider range of CPU coolers.
  • Fixed the Purple + White NZXT H440 having the wrong colours.

Please Note: Some fixes will not apply instantly if a job or build is in progress in as save game when you update versions, they will need to be a fresh job or save to apply.

Please continue to post your bugs and feature requests in the usual places, there has been some really interesting ideas we are keen to include going forward.

Happy Dual GPU Building!

Hello PC Builders,

Over the last week we have been hard at work going through all the major issues players have been having since the last patch and today's update should go a long way to fixing up a lot of them.

Feature wise we are currently working on bringing Dual GPU support to the game and we are aiming to have this in your hands by next week should all go well.

With regards to additional languages, we have French, German, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese all in progress and they should be available to use in the coming weeks.

Patch Notes:
  • Random jobs no longer stop when you hit level 20, they will now continue to generate but your level will not advance.
While Career mode will evolve in time, we know people didn’t always want to start a new game just to get new jobs so this helps with this for now.
  • You can now invert your Y axis for you mouse in the options menu.
  • PCI covers can now be sold for $0 so you can finally clear them out!
  • The temperature cut out for Threadripper CPUs was too low which was causing issues with machines blue screening before they should.
  • Alt-Tabbing should hopefully no longer reset your game resolution.
  • Alt-Tabbing will no longer skip 3DMark benchmarks.
We are aware that people liked this shortcut but it was a bug… we are working on additional stress test options to make this process shorter in some jobs.
  • The main menu should no longer become unusable when a save game is damaged.
We still need more help working out what is causing save games to corrupt, if you get a damaged save please send it to us on support@theirregularcorp.com so we can review it. Unfortunately if your save breaks like this creating a new one is the only real option until we find the cause.
  • Adjusted the way available resolutions and refresh rates are detected and displayed in the options menu, this may or may not help people not getting their refresh rate to stick.
This is a tricky one to debug, hopefully this helps people with the issue but feedback would be useful!
  • It was possible to get blocked in the Grandparent job if you originally built the machine with a motherboard that didn't support the CPU request later on. You can now swap the motherboard to continue the job.
  • Removed the time limit from one of the early tutorial jobs as it was possible to get stuck with the job if you didn't complete it in time.
  • Updated part checking so that the Job Status should detect part improvements more efficiently.
  • The Job Status checker should now be smart enough to catch when you try swapping the required component for a worse one before shipping a job back.
What kind of shady operations were you all running anyway?!
  • Fixed an issue causing completed jobs to have a red square with no message in PC Status which blocked it from being cashed in.
  • Cooler Master C700P fixes:
    • No longer have to remove the back casing to install the motherboard or insert the USB Drive.
    • You can now put the front cover back on once you have removed it.
  • You can now put all the PCI covers back in the Corsair Crystal Series 570X case.
  • The fan hub on the NZXT H440 cases should now work correctly.
  • The SilverStone NJ520 PSU had issues with its CPU power connection which was causing issues with various builds, this should now be fixed.
  • Parts removed from the Cooler Master H500P now have actual names like they should.
  • Various over small component fixes that should mean less building errors overall.
  • Added AMD to the splash screen.

Please keep posting your bugs and feature requests in the forums, they are all being looked at and they help us out hugely.

Wow, what a 24 hours?! We knew we had a great community before we launched, but the support since launch has been incredible. The whole team is extremely grateful for all the support and lovely reviews you have been leaving us and the game.

The feedback and bug reports have also been fantastic, we have a lot to get through on this front so please bear with us while we get through it all and fix things up. This is one of the reasons we wanted to enter early access, to get your feedback!

We have been busy fixing some of the more pressing issues so that we could get an update out to solve them, apologies if a fix you are waiting on hasn’t made this update but it will in the future.

This update fixes/changes:

  • Rewards for jobs have been increased slightly to allow more freedom when choosing parts for a job, and so you can pay the bills!
  • When selecting the USB Drive it now highlights where it goes.
  • Fans should no longer be so loud!
  • Fans should no longer drift off across the workshop as time advances.
  • Adjusted the job generation so it discards possible jobs that might make PCs overheat by default.
  • Icons in the taskbar are no longer draggable out of view.
  • The missed delivery email should only appear once per day.
  • Orange job highlight is always visible
  • Lower quality 3DMark videos for lower end (real-life) hardware to improve performance.
  • The shop now updates correctly when you level up.
  • You now need to restart the PC before installed programs appear on start menu (sorry!)
  • Email/Shop no longer accessible in Free Build mode.
  • Shop search button now works if you press it with the mouse.
  • Text in System Info app should no longer overlap each other.
  • Unplugging the external PSU power should no longer reset the ‘Boot PC’ status.
  • Cables should no longer drift away from the PC when continually using the Auto-Connect tool.
  • Multiple clicks of the ‘Pick up PC’ button in an email will no longer spawn the case on your head when it is stored in the cupboard.
  • Fixed an issue with the job status not appearing on post-it slots.
  • Fixed an issue where open ram clips were not highlighting.
  • Fixed ‘back’ account typo in opening text.

Please continue to post your feedback and bugs in the correct places in our forums, even if you don’t get a reply right away please know it is all being looked at.
