House Party - Eek! Games - Don
Hi all,

A hotfix for the 1.0.7 Winter Update just went out. This updates the French translation of the game, and addresses the following two bugs:

  • Fixed an issue that could cause objects to be un-interactable in certain areas of the game world
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the Clothing ConsoleCommand to execute redundant Clothing GameEvents

Those of you that ran into issues with interacting with Derek on the roof, or the SprayPaintCan during Leah's content should no longer experience those problems.

Cheers!

This winter, there are plenty of exciting new decorations around the house! You'll find pine garlands, hanging lights, glowing candy canes, star-shaped lights, ornaments, a snowman, and snowflake window decals all around Madison's house.

The partygoers are dressed with holiday spirit, too; several of House Party's characters are wearing Santa hats, elf hats, and even a festive sweater!

In this cheery update, it will be snowing lightly outside, you'll be able to throw snowballs at other party guests, and Frank will be getting into the spirit of the holidays in a short new themed side-quest! It's a little bigger than our Halloween update was, so we hope you enjoy it!

Will the winter holiday update be a limited-time update like Halloween? Yes and no.

For now, the winter event will be a temporary base game patch. However, because we received such a positive response to our Halloween update, a permanent DLC version of both events will drop sometime early next year - and will be completely free to play! Halloween will be ready first and Winter will follow sometime after that.

Even better, they will also include a much-requested toggle on/off feature, so you will be able to activate or deactivate the seasonal content without uninstalling and reinstalling it!
Keep an eye out, because we'll be making them wishlistable fairly soon!

Just so everyone is aware, we are going to hold off on doing more holiday events in the short term after these ones (but more are still coming). So, while you probably won't see new events for the first half of next year, we are planning new content for Halloween and Winter in late 2023 and will introduce more exciting new holidays beyond that point!

The reason for this is we do need to take some time in early 2023 to work on finalizing the toggle on/off feature, packaging these events into permanent playable DLCs for you, and not get too distracted from focusing on other development that we need to do for the game (like our next mystery guest, VR, and planning Office Party). The holidays are amazing, but they have taken a bit more time than we expected from overall game development, so we do need to slow that timeline a bit!

Also, in the sake of transparency, we wanted to be up-front that things were going really well with PlayStation, but they drastically changed their stance and flipped to to a more Twitch-like position recently…but we’re used to this by now, and we are still discussing content guidelines with them and comparing those guidelines to what’s already on their store with what’s in our game. We have hope they'll come around and work with us on bringing House Party to console. We'll continue to keep you updated on this as time goes on!

Anyway, we have had so much fun doing these seasonal events so far, and we can't wait to expand on them more for you (and add new holidays to the mix)! You've given us amazing feedback to use for our 2023 Halloween and Winter Holiday updates, and now we're going to sit down as a team and plan the best way for us to incorporate this feedback alongside the rest of our development pipeline moving forward!

The winter update is live now...so what are you waiting for? Go play it, partiers! The event will be available to play until January 9th! Deck the balls, doods!

P.S. If you complete the new holiday achievement during the update, you will not have to redo it again when the winter content is a permanent DLC to get 100% completion. However, if you are not around to play during the winter update and you miss the achievement, the achievement will be on the Steam list but unable to complete until the House Party - Winter Holiday Pack is released permanently in Q1 2023.

P.P.S. If you're not feeling the holiday spirit and don't want to play the winter content, don't forget that you can swap back to the regular base game version of the game at any time! To do this, just go to the Steam beta branch and select the previous game version!

Happy December, doods and lady-doods! The holidays are almost here, and we’ve got some fun news to share about our upcoming winter seasonal update!

Before we get into the details, we just want to give a quick heads-up that we are still working on that Toggle On/Off feature for holiday content that we promised. Although it won’t be ready in time for our winter event, we hope to have it ready for beta testing early next year!

With that said, when it drops, the Winter Event will be a temporary update to the base game (without the toggle feature), but we will release it as a permanent free DLC (just like we’ll be doing with Halloween) with a toggle on/off feature as soon as it's ready after the holiday.

Thanks for being patient with us, doods! We want to make sure this feature is good to go and package the DLCs properly going forward. We definitely focused on getting the content out on time for the holidays first, and are stoked you’re enjoying it enough to make it permanent!

So, what can you look forward to in the winter event?

Thanks to an overwhelming amount of you asking for Seasonal-Themed Opportunities / Short Side Stories, we are planning to release a little holiday Quest that features its own special Steam Achievement!

We also heard you about Seasonal Activities and added a new in-game activity (we'll give you a clue...it has to do with that bucket of snowballs we shared last week).

A bunch of you also asked to see Frank as Santa. Like...a weird amount of you brahs have a kink for seeing the angriest, most aggressive, most domineering dude at the party dressed as the most cheerful, heartwarming, generous man of the season for some reason. Full-body custom outfits take a lot of our artists’ time, so no promises on a full Santa costume (this year), but let's just say Frank will definitely get into the spirit of the holidays!

Speaking of making things happen - but a bit off-topic to the holiday content - did you know in our last update (Stable Release 1.0.6), we also brought back the mechanic where painkillers give a stamina boost and booze (beer, wine, liquor) gives a strength boost?

We had to remove that feature to get House Party ESRB "Mature" rated (you know, so we could get on various platforms that are still giving us a hard time), but it's back in the Explicit Add-On since you guys asked for it on our last dev stream! Enjoy drinking your way to buffness, doods!

You're probably curious to see what we learned from our Holiday Feedback Form, too, right?

Holiday Underwear was one of the most wished-for items on the seasonal list! Although we, unfortunately, couldn’t add sexy holiday lingerie to this upcoming holiday event, we’re keeping this in mind for our upcoming holidays, because a huge number of you wanted it!

Since you weren't too interested in Discord Emojis and Steam Emojis & Stickers, we won't prioritize making those for a while, but, overall, most other holiday features - including all decorations, accessories, and outfits - were quite popular!

The ambiance was surprisingly desired even more than most outfits and decorations, so we are adding falling snow (Weather Effect) to the update coming this winter. Let us know if you like it!

The most loved characters were Ashley, Amy, and Vickie, but there was still a lot of hype for the rest of the party guests! We were also shocked to see tons of love for the next DLC guest already there! We’ll be announcing more soon(™)!

We had a surprising majority of players say it is alright for us to reuse costumes for characters if we can't give everyone something unique, so we will do that if we need to! But, overall, we want to prioritize getting unique costumes for our party guests, when possible!

We got a ton of written feedback responses, too! It's been crazy cool seeing all the wild ideas you doods have for the party. While we can't do all of them, we are chatting about them as a team, drawing inspiration from them, and trying to work on things we see a lot of players writing in and asking for (like Santa Frank)!

P.S. For those of you who are looking forward to Office Party more than the seasonal content, we are still working on it alongside the holiday content, but it will be a long project and we are still in the very early stages of planning and framework development at this time. House Party Stable Release 1.0.6 is ready to play - and it's packed with smoking hot new POV intimacy updates!

We’ve wanted to deliver an update focused on expanding the Explicit Add-On for a while now, so we’re hyped to share this with everyone and hope you’re stoked to explore the sweet stuff we added in this update!

So, what did we add? Check it out, doods:
  • Spicier Female Player Intimacy: The POV intimacy system will better correspond with the female player story. You can now access POV intimacy for the female content!
  • POV Intimacy Will Be More Gender-Accurate: Now female-female intimacy will prefer to use more gender-accurate pairing acts - like scissoring (yeah, that’s new!) rather than male-female or male-male acts.
  • New Female-Centric POV Intimacy Poses: Scissoring, fingering, and female-centric sixty-nine
  • A Newly-Implemented Frank Cutscene: We added a cutscene that was only available through console commands to the gameplay. Enjoy a blowjob featuring the male protagonist and your favorite booze-hating bald dude!
  • Top & Bottom M/M Position Swapping: During POV sex between the male player and male NPCs, you can now also swap between the top and bottom positions!
  • A New Main User Interface Sound Scheme: As you move and click around the menus in House Party, there are satisfying new sound effects that show when you’re hovering over and clicking on things.
  • Extra Polish For Custom Story Cosmetic Issues: Certain stories that made use of held drinks, or custom Character names, should see fewer immersion breaks. Additional small emotive, sound and cosmetic issues for POV intimacy have also been remedied, too (check our patch notes)!
Bug Fixes: Vickie's "Training Day", Compubrah-VR bugs, and several UI issues have now been fixed!

Enjoy the steamy new explicit update, brahs. Have fun playing it again. And again. And again. Please have mercy on your keyboards, though, and be sure to clean your hands after checking out the new content.

Want to see more of the changes? Check out our patch notes here! https://housepartygame.com/release-notes/

Thank you to the incredible number of players who took the time to fill out our Holiday Feedback Form! We've gotten amazing responses, and it's great to learn what you want most from our game.

We'll leave the form open for another two weeks so everyone has the chance to leave feedback. We'd also love to do more of these forms in the future. They really help us keep House Party on track so we're always taking the game in the best direction for our community!

If you missed it, come share your thoughts, dood! Here’s the link: https://forms.gle/oya3h5VGc7UMEfFy6

You might even see a couple of the things you vote strongly for in the upcoming Winter Event…
House Party - markiezz

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our partiers!

We're so thankful for all the players who have played and enjoyed House Party through every step of its development. What started as a little indie passion project created by one person has grown to be a labor of love delivered from our small team to you.

We appreciate you brahs so much, and House Party has come so far thanks to your passion and feedback. Cheers to a happy turkey day and to keeping the party going!

In regards to our recently announced plans for free seasonal DLCs, thank you all for the incredible costume ideas you gave us for our Halloween event!

You guys know we're a small team, so thanks for having patience with us. Although we can’t currently commit to content that is super art-heavy, like every character having a unique full-body costume for every single event, it’s still amazing to hear your ideas for outfits!

We do plan on adding to the seasonal DLCs by releasing more holiday content over time, and we definitely want to create outfits for everyone, too! But it may take some time, as our current focus is working on House Party QoL updates, character DLCs, clothing DLCs, the VR DLC, Office Party, and more! But we’ll get there, one step at a time!

So, although we can’t promise a costume for every character for each holiday while still working on development (unless our team gets bigger), we will continue to do our best to bring you doods everything we can, as soon as we can!

With that said, we put together a quick feedback form to help us prioritize what we should focus on for future seasonal events! It would be great if you could take the time to answer, so we know what to focus on most, and so we can keep track of all your awesome seasonal ideas in one place.

You can share your thoughts with us here: https://forms.gle/oya3h5VGc7UMEfFy6

Thanks for helping us make the party more awesome, doods!
House Party - markiezz

Thanks again for the awesome feedback on our first seasonal event! Our team is working hard to get the Halloween content wrapped into a free DLC for everyone and to add an easy-access toggle feature to the main menu.

It’ll take us a bit to get it ready, but we'll create a Steam DLC Store Page ahead of time so you can wishlist it and add it to your library as soon as it's available!

After our last announcement, we got a few questions about other seasonal events, too, and let's just say we may be also working on something special for the upcoming winter holiday.

Wondering how House Party's overall development is going? Our next release (the saucy POV one we talked about in our last Steam News Post) just left alpha and entered beta testing, so we expect to have a stable release ready for everyone around the beginning of December!

We added a couple of extras to the upcoming update since we last chatted about it, too. If you enjoy POV intimacy but think the NPC's facial expressions look a bit "off" in certain poses, we're working on that! Select poses will be getting improvements to make the characters look more expressive and attentive at the moment.

For those of you who make Custom Stories for House Party (or are interested in trying to make them), we're improving stuff for you, as well! After the next stable update releases, it'll be a bit easier to create your own custom party experience!

While we have a moment, we'll answer a couple of other quick questions we saw floating around the comment section! Yes, we’re still slowly working on Office Party in the background, but you probably won’t start seeing too much initial development news on it until sometime next year at the soonest.

More info on our next guest is also coming soon, and their exciting DLC will take us back to the edgy roots House Party is known for! We’re stoked to work alongside a partner who has played (and loves) House Party and wants to explore making adult content with us. Get hyped, doods: Our next DLC will be packed with some of our wildest explicit scenes yet!

And just because we're doing these awesome guest partnerships doesn't mean we aren't keeping in mind possibilities for Original Story Expansion Packs in the future, too! We've got some really fun player suggestions so far about different areas of the original partier backstories we could explore further in the future.

Is there anything you'd like to see? Let us know!

P.S. Need something fun to do this weekend? Come hang out with Lety (LetyDoesStuff) this Saturday at 9 PM EST for some chill gaming on our Discord!
House Party - markiezz
Hope you doods enjoyed the Halloween update!

So far, we’ve heard that partiers on social media liked the holiday decor slightly more than the costumes, but we want to know what our brahs on Steam think, too!

Comment below and let us know if you liked the seasonal house decorations or the outfits more, so we know what we should be focusing on when designing future events!

Didn’t make it to the Halloween party this year? -No worries, it'll be back!

Read more about when you'll see it again in our Steam post from last week here!

In the meantime, check out these awesome community content images from our Discord member Lounger, The Creator! They colored Vickie and Patrick’s skin red and gave them awesome succubus and incubus looks. How saucy!

With the event wrapping up, you may be asking: What awesome new stuff is coming to the party in the near future?

Right now, we're working on a smoking hot new update for our Explicit Content DLC!

In this awesome upcoming build, POV (non-cutscene “legacy”) love scenes will fit the female player story better - like scissoring (yeah, that’s new!) or fingering, as well as female-centric sixty-nine POV intimacy poses. You will also be able to swap between dominant and submissive positions during male-male love scenes.

There’s also going to be a brand new cutscene featuring the male protagonist and the buff straightedge party-crasher we all love to hate. It’ll take place in the backyard and have someone kneeling. If you know, you know.

This update will also address some bugs in the base game, too. For example, you’ll no longer encounter some UI issues with Vickie's "Training Day", and Compubrah’s VR Frank and Katherine combat.

Keep in mind that none of this is live quite yet, but we wanted to give you a sneak peek at what's coming soon! Get excited, doods and lady-doods...the party's gonna get HOT!

Hello everyone! We are pleased to announce that the Chinese translation is now fully updated.

Please restart your game client to download this. If you use Steam, Epic, etc. and run into any additional problems, try verifying your game files if possible.

For best viewing of the Chinese translation, we suggest using the "Montserrat" font in the Gameplay Settings.

As for other languages, everyone associated with our localization efforts are working very hard, and we hope to have more languages updated in time. However, we do not currently have an estimate on when additional translations will be completed or added.

Been enjoying the Halloween Party, brahs? We’re stoked so many of you have checked it out and enjoyed the seasonal decorations and costumes!

We’ve been hearing that many of you like the event so much that you’d love to be able to keep using the Halloween assets even though the spooky season will be over soon. So, we plan to add the ability for players to toggle them on or off from the main menu. Although we can’t give an exact date on when this will be added to the game, this is definitely something we are working on implementing - stay tuned for more updates!

The Halloween event was a spur-of-the-moment decision for us, but we felt it was content worth sharing with all you doods! Supporting seasonal content has been something we’ve always wanted to do, but our focus on getting House Party out of Early Access kept us from being able to. Now that the game’s released, we have a ton of additional awesome content that we want to bring as free updates for everyone going forward!

While we’re definitely down to do more seasonal events, these won’t happen every holiday, since we don’t want to slow down development on full-fledged DLCs and Office Party. However, we’ll try our best to add them whenever we can.

We’ll also be looking into allowing you access to events once they’re over! One potential idea we’re heavily considering is creating a free seasonal DLC for our holiday event, like a Halloween DLC, and updating it with new content every Halloween!

This will allow players who want to skip the seasonal content to do so, while still giving them the option to download it at a later time! Those who have the free Halloween DLC in their libraries will be able to toggle the event content on and off in the House Party main menu at their leisure!

We hope this sounds exciting to everyone! Since the event has been so popular, we’ll keep it rolling for another week. After that, the Halloween content will briefly go away (for now), but, don’t worry, you’ll see the content again in the future once we implement the toggle feature and create the DLC!

If you’re curious how our development progress is coming along on the base game, we’re making good headway on the quality of life update we mentioned in our previous Steam roadmap post.

None of this is live quite yet, but the upcoming update will include some UI updates for the base game, and, if you have the Explicit Content Add-On installed, you’ll be able to access POV legacy intimacy for the female content and the new intimacy sequences and poses that are arriving very soon!

Thanks again for chilling with us this Halloween! We hope you had a spooky time and are excited for our next update!
House Party - markiezz

Warning: There are spooky elements and creepy critters in this limited-time mini-update. If that makes the party too scary, read the instructions at the end of this post on how to not play the event and enjoy the original version of the game.

Happy Halloween, partiers!

The house looks a little different this Halloween, and so do some of your fellow partygoers!

Madison's decked the place out with a few chilling decorations, and some of the more Halloween-minded guests have put on a sinister special accessory to celebrate. Be sure to fully explore the party, as you’ll encounter spine-chilling seasonal decor and a petrifying new limited-time cosmetic item!

This mini-update comes as a free temporary patch that’s available to all Steam players. The eerie visuals will revert back to normal on November 11th, so enjoy them while you can!

Not in a Halloween mood? Are the new decorations too harrowing? To swap back to the regular base version of the game, go to the Properties for House Party in Steam, select "Betas", and then choose either the "1.0.3" or "testing" beta branches to play the regular version! Feel free to do this at any time to get rid of the spooky seasonal appearance!

Note: At this time, the seasonal accessory and household decorations will be visible in all custom stories. To revert to the normal world aesthetics, please swap to the "1.0.3" or "testing" beta branches which host the regular version of the game.
