The September game update includes a new map: Longest Yard; four new Arcade Modes; Quake 2’s Super Shotgun Vanity Skin “Trespasser” (named by you, our community!); Champion & Weapon balance changes; and performance improvements.
BUILD HIGHLIGHTS:
New Map: Longest Yard Only the power of the Rune of Black Magic prevents the floating ruins of Volkerh’s tabernacle from tumbling into the Blind God’s oblivion-maw.
The classic bottomless space map returns! Beware railguns and ringouts in this open area map where jump pads propel you to new heights and distant floating islands.
Arcade Modes A brand new way to queue up and play! The Arcade is a weekly rotation of rule modifiers that shake up how you play Quake Champions in fun, different ways. This month we’re introducing four new modes, one for each week of the month (in order of appearance):
Unholy Trinity - Holy Trinity weapons only: the Rocket Launcher, Railgun, and Lightning Gun! This is the only mode with abilities disabled.
Hot Rockets - Rocket Launchers only! Your own rockets won’t hurt you (so rocket jump to your heart’s content), but they’ll do triple damage to your enemies!
Mystery Champion - Each time you respawn, you’ll come back to the Arena as a random Champion!
Team Instagib - Now you can play this one shot, one kill mode with friends!
New Weapon Skin: "Trespasser" Like a Berserker bursting out of a monster closet, the pump-action QUAKE 2 Super Shotgun likes to get up close and personal to its target, only to obliterate it.
Our players suggested the name for this one based off the Quake 2 Berserker Strogg's famous voice line, and we just had to use it!
Bot Backfill support Bots will now fill in when players leave during a match to prevent uneven games.
Party Queuing for Deathmatch and Instagib Want to frag your friends in free-for-all modes? Of course you do, and now you can! Players in parties can now queue up for Deathmatch and Instagib Quck Play modes.

KNOWN ISSUES AND FAQ:
Longest Yard Map "Why is the Quad Damage powerup floating in the air where it cannot be reached?" This is known to occur when a player carrying Quad damage is killed in between a series of jumps.
"Why does my performance drop in The Longest Yard?" There is a known issue where performance may drop when the player is looking towards the central area of the map. A workaround is to lower graphics settings. This is intended to be fixed in a future update.
Spectator Mode "I cannot stay on a particular player with the Spectator Auto-Follow camera." There is a known issue where Spectators in Auto-Follow mode cannot disable it using hotkeys. To disable Auto-Follow mode, switch to Free-Camera, or Fixed-Camera, and then back to the player you want to follow.
We’ll be deploying an update on 02.08.2018 that includes a new Champion: Death Knight, new vanity weapons: Redeemer & the limited-edition QuakeCon Heavy Machine Gun, Esports Showdown Bundle, the ability to select multiple playlists, Bots available in Custom Game and additional performance polish. We estimate the update process will take from 8AM EDT – 3PM EDT (12PM UTC to 7PM UTC).

Over the past year, we’ve continued to monitor community feedback and viewership trends surrounding our Twitch Drop programs for The Elder Scrolls: Legends and Quake Champions.
We have amazing streamers who put in time, talent, and dedication day after day to bring their fellow community members entertaining content, and that is why going forward we are going to be turning off Twitch Drops for any streams that rebroadcast content or stream AFK solely to generate Drops for idling viewers (and themselves).
We will be reviewing all channels streaming Quake Champions and The Elder Scrolls: Legends. Channels that are found to be rebroadcasting content without first turning off Drops in their settings will be blacklisted from having Drops work on their channel. This change will go into effect as of August 3rd, 2018. All bans will be permanent and will prevent the streamer from drops for any/all Bethesda games, not just the one that resulted in the ban.

We hope you’ll agree that this policy change is for the best in being fair towards our community content creators, and to help the Quake Champions and The Elder Scrolls: Legends stream scenes grow. We have been experimenting with ways to help us grow the Quake community, and one way is to learn which of our advertisements and web content effectively bring new Quake players to the game. To be clear: our limited trial use of Red Shell in Quake Champions only gathers anonymous data, such as where new players are coming from or how many matches they played. This helps us work smarter to grow a stronger Quake community, built on players who will continue to play the game. The software does not collect any personal information.
That being said our players are our top priority. In response to your concerns, we’ve stopped collecting this data and will be removing the trial version of Red Shell from the game with a hotfix next week. We are still investigating how to use this technology in the future to help us grow and sustain Quake Champions moving forward. When/if we do add it back to the game, we’ll give everyone a heads up and explain what it is doing and how it is doing it, and any implementation will be compliant with our Privacy Policy and GDPR.

As of June 26, we have deployed a hotfix that removed Red Shell.
Quakefam, your response to the game during E3 week has been amazing. Tons of new players have stepped foot into the arena for the first time to take their place amongst Champions, and we couldn't be more thrilled that you're having fun with the game.
Because of this, we want to give even more players a chance to join the battle, so we're extending free-to-play access until Monday, June 25! Play Quake Champions for free during this week, and after the event you can continue playing!

Grants Free-to-Play players free access to one Champion on a weekly rotation

Explosive bolts are now armed upon firing the weapon, not when the bolts make contact with their target, resulting in bolts now being able to explode mid-air creating an array of explosions around your enemy

XP Curves have been updated to make leveling significantly easier
XP boosters. These are known in-game as Haste Potions and give +50% XP bonus.
Champions can now be purchased for Favor.

New Champion: Strogg & Peeker
Ability Drone Strike: Strogg enters a camouflaged state and deploys his drone. He assumes control of the drone, which can fly around and shoot at players using its Hyperblaster. Using the ability again causes the drone to accelerate forward and detonate upon collision.
Passive Stroyent Cell: Gather Stroyent capsules from your corpses of his enemies that heal his wounds.
New Map: Awoken
In the vine-choked valleys beyond Zar’s templed terraces, a monument to the Queen of Ciphers looms over what remains of the Temple of Forgetting.
Available in all modes with the exception of Sacrifice!
New Vanity Weapon: Disruptor
The QUAKE 3 Plasma Gun returns, upgrading your standard issue Super Nailgun with plasma nails that rapidly consume its energy… and your enemies.
