Flashing Lights - Police, Firefighting, Emergency Services (EMS) Simulator - RapheePlays

Hello everyone,

Flashing Lights launched a little under 24 hours ago and we wanted to thank everyone for supporting the development of the game and providing us with feedback. We've had a fantastic response from the community, and we cannot thank you all enough.

We have just launched a brand new content update, less than 24 hours since launch! The update includes ten new callouts across the Fire and EMS departments. Additionally players will be able to set passwords when creating an online game, meaning that you can now create private games and share the password with your friends.

And finally we have added Spanish translation into the game, as well as provided a few bug fixes.

We have also just launched the Mac version of Flashing Lights.

A full change log can be found below:

New Content
  • 3 new vehicle fire callouts for the fire department [Call ID 15; 16; 17]
  • 2 new rescue callouts for the fire department (single player only) [Call ID 18; 19]
  • 5 new callouts for the EMS department [Call ID 18; 19; 20; 21; 22]
  • Password option for multiplayer games - meaning that you will be able to make private multiplayer games and give your friends the password to join the game.
  • Spanish translation

Fixes
  • Traffic Stop (Left Ctrl) will automatically enable emergency lights if they are off.
  • Traffic stopped vehicles will now correctly despawn when you move out of the area.
  • Vehicles with no driver, no longer move on their own.
  • Parked vehicles - Illegally parked vehicles will change on each session load.
  • NPCs who stopped after getting out of a player's way will now continue to move again once the player passes.
  • Hose correctly despawns.
  • Interacting with a stretcher close to a wall will no longer make the player fall through the floor.
  • Player correctly resets when underwater while holding an item or interacting with NPCs.
  • Hospital will now accept all patients instead of denying every second patient.

We're already fixing further issues and responding to some suggestions from the community for the next update. Once again, we thank you for the great amount of support, and hope that you enjoy watching the game evolve throughout development.

As a reminder, we have announced just a taste of the things to come throughout Early Access in the image below, and today's update sees us start to deliver on the content mentioned below.

And with that, we've kept you long enough! Why not jump into the game while it's at 10% off for the launch week if you're yet to play? Or why not jump back into the game and play the new missions if you are already an owner of Flashing Lights

Thanks,
The Flashing Lights Team

Hello officers, medics and firefighters!

Flashing Lights has just launched in Early Access. Play as a police officer, medic or firefighter in single player, or online with up to five other people. We hope that you join us, have fun with the game and offer some feedback!

As this is an Early Access launch, there is much more to come. We have put together a list of upcoming content that will be worked on during the Early Access period. This is by no means a complete Early Access roadmap, but just a taste of what we are working on. The roadmap will be updated throughout Early Access.

We are already working on the first update which contains the following additions and enhancements.

New Content
  • 3 new vehicle accident fire callouts for the fire department [Call ID 15; 16; 17]

We want to thank everyone who has shown their support for the game so far and a massive thank you to those who joined us during the Alpha testing period.

This is just the beginning and we hope that many of you will follow the development, sharing your feedback and suggestions.

Happy launch day,
The Flashing Lights Team

Hello everyone,

We have some important news to share today. Flashing Lights will now launch on 7th June 2018 in Early Access.

While originally set for release on 18th May 2018, Flashing Lights has been delayed in order to secure a stronger Early Access launch.

The three-week delay allows us time to not only polish Flashing Lights further, but to add more missions and content for the Early Access launch. As a result of the short delay, Flashing Lights’ Early Access launch will now feature a reputation system which charts players’ in-game actions in real-time, such as completing missions or causing damage to the city.

We realise that delays, even small ones, are always disappointing, and we apologise for pushing back the release date. Rest assured, though, that the Early Access release will be much better for it.

If you haven't already, please do add the game to your Steam wishlist to stay up to date!

Thank you for your support and understanding - we can't wait to open the floodgates and welcome you all to Flashing Lights on 7th June.

Thanks,
The Flashing Lights Team

Hello everyone,

It's been just a little while since our last announcement. We've opened the Closed alpha to players and they have offered some great feedback to improve the game up to its launch at the end of next month.

Today we've released the second developer vlog which shows off some of the controller support we're working on, the new lighting effects and increased foliage but also talks about the new radio call outs we have for online multiplayer.

Hi everyone!

We've been working on the build of Flashing Lights today, but unfortunately due to some technical issues we have had to delay the closed alpha by one day.

Part of the process for Early Access is asking players to help locate some bugs and report them to us. Below are just few of the issues that we've been addressing over the past couple of days:

- Players were able to enter the passenger seats of other players vehicles, but were unable to escape!
- Parking a vehicle in a position where another online players vehicle will spawn would lead to a mesmerizing vehicular balancing act!
- Richard Anderson was wanted by the police department for reckless driving, Every pedestrian spawned however had the name Richard Anderson!
- While attending an accident, a driver was trapped inside the car. The Fire Department stood outside with jaws of Life Equipped, but unable to understand how to free this poor man from his vehicular prison.
- Fireman obtained the powers of levitation and something needed to be done before he could use this for evil.
-When a police officer leaves the vehicle, they jump in excitement (This has been reduced but not fixed 100%).
-After using the jaws of life to free a trapped driver, the vehicle will be upset and begin to generate its own gravitational pull, causing the player to be pulled back to the car.
- Once successfully stopping a reckless driver, there was a chance that the driver would then obtain the powers of teleportation and vanish. No idea while he was driving so fast, he could have just teleported...
- When right clicking, the camera would zoom into the foot of the player... Don't ask why.
- If a player is sitting in another players vehicle while they change roles, the vehicle will despawn and it will appear that they will be flying Wonder Woman's invisible plane.

Below are a few in screenshot form

The T Pose Policeman watches you while selecting a new job role. He needs more officers

The Ambulance blocks the spawn location for the fire truck. Fireman is unable to reach the doors

Police Officer sitting in the passenger side of Wonder Women's invisible jet

The fire hose has unlimited reach and can be used to create works of art!

When a fireman entered a fire truck, he would spawn a police officer in the drivers seat. The police officer would be sitting in a ridiculous position and the player will be able to control both the truck AND the on foot fireman at the same time... Just straight up odd!

Of course, some bugs are hilarious, others are frustrating. Some of these were progress stopping which meant that players would be unable to continue playing. If you are accepted into the closed alpha, prepare for the good, the bad and the odd. Any reports would greatly help us in fixing issues and improving the game.

We'll be sending out an email tomorrow with steam codes. Some of the bugs above are fixed, others may still be present. But of course, it's important to share these details. We will be releasing in Early Access, which means that the game will not be complete and will most certainly contain a bunch of bugs too. This is the nature of the beast and any help from the community this early on is very useful!

I hope you can understand the small delay and we are looking forward to seeing some of you try out the game for the first time.
