Thank you for your feedback on the EU servers. As we still received a number of reports about rubber banding and desyncs issues, we have decided to switch back to our original servers and continue our investigation.
We will be taking down the servers at 10AM CEST/4AM EDT/1AM PDT. Please extract before that time to avoid losing your hunter.
We want to take a moment to address the server issues that have been happening in the past couple of weeks mainly on the US East and EU server.
First of we want to thank everyone who has reported the issues that they have been experiencing on our various channels. We take the reports about rubber banding, disconnects and increased ping very serious and we have been actively investigating.
While we try to keep you up-to-date as much as possible sometimes there isn't so much to share so we rather wait to give you a bigger update like this blog post.
We are currently testing different servers on our EU environment. We want to keep these servers running during the night (Friday, September 13th) and we will actively monitor and keep an eye out on user reports for any problems. If these different servers don't seem to improve the situation we will take these down and will go back to our old servers tomorrow morning at 10 AM CEST/4AM EDT/1AM PDT. This means that all the servers will go down for a short maintenance for about ~1 hour and we will confirm if this will happen well in advance on all our communication platforms like Steam, Social Media and Discord.
Depending on the outcome of these tests we will either apply the server changes to our US East server environment or we reevaluate and look for a different solution to the server issues.
Thank you for all your patience, we will send a follow up once we got more news to share.
Here are the patch notes for update 1.0.2. With this update we have introduced further changes to weapon sway as well as changes to our progression system.
Please leave us your feedback below. Happy Hunting!

Gunplay
Adjusted weapon sway to re-introduce a slightly stronger modifier while moving and aiming down sight at the same time
Developer Note: With Update 1.0, we chose to tweak aiming with weapons towards a more accessible gunplay experience, reducing the sway patterns to make it easier for players to train and keep their sights on target. This is one of a number of balancing adjustments made to our weapons. These adjustments include (but aren't limited to): more realistic, slower bullet velocities for some weapons and torso shots registering in spite of any arm hitboxes in the way. While we are still happy with these changes, we have seen a comeback of ADAD sidestep dancing in combat, which players are using to reduce the chances of getting hit. At the same time, the reduced sway allows them to shoot with fairly high accuracy while strafing, so that it has started to become a dominant strategy in combat, which is not what we intended. So with this update, we are adding back slightly stronger weapon sway during player movement. Compared to many other games, we feel that the 1.0 sway is still significantly stronger and continues to pose a challenge for players to master - especially taking into account the fact that every shot counts with the slow rate-of-fire weapons featured in the game. There have been discussions in the community about how the stronger pre 1.0 weapon sway has produced more intense firefights, where positioning was more critical. We feel that this is only partially true and that good positioning still decides firefights as the main factor in the game right now. In our view, it is more rewarding for players to score a reliable hit through careful aiming, rather than having a strong element of RNG in the gunplay formula, due to the hard to control weapon sway making you often miss a target by a pixel as the sway takes the sights off your target. We hope that these latest changes help us strike a good compromise between accessibility and challenge, retaining Hunt's core gunplay, but reducing the amount of frustration from near-misses in combat. Please tell us what you think!

Hunt: Showdown is a competitive multiplayer bounty hunting game that packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format. During each match up to twelve players, hunting solo, duo or in trios, track and kill gruesome monsters for a bounty - when they aren’t tracking and killing each other in order to steal it. Death is permanent and every match is a gamble with your Hunter’s life and gear - but the greater the risk, the greater the reward.
Hunt alone, with friends, or with a random player.
Explore a handcrafted sandbox environment crawling with terrifying creatures as you track monsters for bounty.
Feel the tension of the unknown—you can never be sure how many players are on the map with you or what might be lurking around the next corner.
Experience a AAA gunplay experience with realistic weapon handling true to the time period.
GAME MODES/MISSIONS
Bounty Hunt
Players will be able to choose between several different mission types that are updated daily. These will comprise of solo boss target missions, random missions, and two boss target missions.
Up to 12 players can compete, either solo, as a duo or trio.
Every Bounty Hunt mission follows the same basic course: 1. Track your target through a hostile sandbox environment. 2. Kill your target. 3. Banish your target's soul to hell and collect the resulting Bounty Tokens. 4. Get off the map before another Hunter kills you and steals your prize.
Every match is unique, varying depending on factors such as difficulty (AI and pathing), time of day, or target type and how many other players are present - in a mix of solos, duos or trios.
Quickplay
In this shorter, solo-player-only version of the classic Hunt match mode, up to 12 players compete for the Wellspring's energy and their salvation - and the chance to keep the free Hunter character they are given at the beginning of the match. Access the Wellspring by closing four Rifts in the fabric of reality, and being the first to absorb the Wellspring's energy. Only one Hunter can survive - and time is short.
Each Quickplay match follows the same basic course: 1. Search for and close all four Rifts 2. Absorb the Wellspring's energy. 3. Survive until all the energy has been absorbed. 4. Winner keeps their Hunter character.
WORLD
Hunt is set in a handcrafted sandbox environment in the bayous of Louisiana (Stillwater Bayou and Lawson Delta). Each of the 16 unique locations on each map are steeped in history and lore, which will be unlockable via the library. Thirteen of those locations on each map could contain your target.
2 x 1 km² map, including 16 locations per map
30+ sandbox features to use strategically to distract or attract enemies.
4 times of day: day, night, foggy day and golden
Sound cues, from the screams of a dying horse to the beating of wings as a flock of birds takes off, will give you clues as to the location of enemies, or give your location away and can be used strategically to attract or distract enemies.
Extraction points— stage coaches and steam boats—are your way off the map and out of a Hunt match, and extraction takes 20 seconds. The presence of any player near these points triggers an audio cue to alert others that a potential enemy is lurking.
CAST
Player Characters Choose from either male or female character sets, which include three tiers of characters and 113 visual variations, randomly generated from a variety of outfits, ethnicities, and equipment. As your Bloodline progresses you will unlock more elite hunters.
Boss targets: The Spider, the Butcher and the Assassin Each of the games boss targets (Spider, Butcher and Assassin) presents a unique challenge. Players will need to think carefully about how to arm themselves, as each boss has its own weaknesses and strengths.
AI enemies: Hive, Meathead, Hellhound, Armored, Water Devil and Immolator These six enemies have different weaknesses and strengths, and will do their best to get in your way as you hunt your target.
Grunts A randomly generated hoard of grunts with visual and weapons variations roam the swamps as well, are attracted by sound, and are after your blood.
ARSENAL
So. Many. Guns. Hunt features 57 pieces of equipment, 33 weapon variants as well as 21 consumables to date.
Hunt features 40 unique traits. Traits are permanent passive ability upgrades for Hunter characters. Traits can be unlocked as you progress your Bloodline, and can be purchased with the upgrade points you earn from leveling up your Hunter. Once assigned to a Hunter, traits do not consume any extra energy, health, or stamina.
Traits currently available are: Determination, Physician, Quartermaster, Greyhound, Packmule, Frontiersman, Doctor, Pump Jockey, Hornskin, Mithridatist, Fanning, Bloodless and many more. Mithridatist, for example, reduces the intensity and duration of poison, while Bloodless provides immunity to bleeding.
LEGENDARY CONTENT
Legendary content is a massive extension to the game, unlocking previously unused potential when it comes to the customization and personalization of your Hunters. We are delighted with the addition of legendary content as it gives us a chance to show a level of uniqueness and love for detail that has thus far been unseen in Hunt. We will launch with 7 unique legendary character skins as well as an astonishing 40 legendary weapons. Legendary weapons and Hunters are available for purchase in-game for Blood Bonds, with a chance to earn these through prestige rewards.
PROGRESSION
Hunt features three kinds of progression.
Hunter Progression Players can level up their Hunters by completing objectives. Leveling a Hunter grants upgrade points that players can spend to buy health and traits. If a Hunter dies he is gone forever—and so are any upgrades or gear they were equipped with.
Bloodline Progression Bloodline Progression is the progression for a player’s entire account. Players earn experience during matches that level up their Bloodline. Each Bloodline rank unlocks gear, traits, higher tier hunters, and in-game currency rewards.
Bloodline Progression & Prestige The Bloodline Prestige system allows players to reset their Bloodline after they reach maximum rank (currently 100). When a player resets their Bloodline, they receive a prestige badge as well as the choice of one of the following rewards:
10% bonus on all experience points (XP) earned during a mission
Extra $2000 starting money upon returning to Rank 1
A (random) legendary unlock
LORE
Book of Monsters
The Book of Monsters is the first in a series of new books for the Library that allows players to reveal more about Hunt's universe and backstory. The book includes a unique unlock system that opens up new pages to players after completing the required gameplay challenges.
Book of Weapons
The new ‘Book of Weapons’ gives players a further opportunity to unlock pieces of lore from the Hunt-verse. In addition, and more importantly, the Book of Weapons will replace a part of the unlock system that was previously tied to ranking up. This system gives players more control over their equipment, allowing them to focus on what they want and work towards creating your ideal Hunter loadout.
