Development Update - Community Requests!

Hey Trailmakers! A huge thanks to all of you that have been playing, and leaving us bug reports, feedback and suggestions. We read it all and it helps us immensely when plotting out our development roadmap. We’d love to give you a quick update on what are currently the top three most requested features.

1 - Improved Free Camera - Lots of you have been requesting this and we get it, you want to admire your beautiful creations from all angles, but not only that, to be able to look around your surroundings with better control and more flexibility.

2 - Paint Jobs and Decals - Everybody is unique, and you want to be able to show that in your Trailmaker creations!

3 - Being able to move the camera in the Builder while holding a Block - This would definitely be a great Quality of Life improvement. I’m sure we’ve all been there, building your ultimate creation and you want to place that piece you’re holding on the opposite side, but to spin the camera you need to put that piece down, turn the camera and then pick it up again!

While we can’t commit to any dates regarding these three requests, I’m happy to tell you that they have all been added to our development roadmap! If you’ve left suggestions that aren’t mentioned up above, don’t be disheartened! We’ve still taken them onboard and we’re actively keeping track of all the ideas you guys come up with and the level of demand for each one. Be sure to leave us your ideas through:

Trailmakers - stidsholt
Greetings everyone!

It is about time we got started on a development blog for Trailmakers. We want to share with you what we are working on so you know where the game is headed. First, a quick note on current Trailmakers versions.

Alpha Demo and Alpha Testing

The Trailmakers you might have seen clips from on YouTube is the Alpha Demo. It has an expedition course with a few different challenges, some basic building blocks and a sandbox mode with a few more blocks (some of them not fully functional). There is A LOT more to come in Trailmakers.

The Alpha Demo and the Alpha Test Versions are separate entities.
The Alpha Demo is a small teaser, and it will not receive any content updates.
The Alpha Test Versions are experimental versions meant for testing and bug finding, and they are distributed via random invitation.
Sign up for testing on our website for a chance to get the Alpha Test Version.

Next up - the Challenge System

The next feature update to the Alpha Test Versions will see the challenge system implemented. In the challenge system, you can compete in timed races and other mini-events. Much more about that in the next update! Oh, let us know if you have a better name for it than “Challenge System”! ːsteamfacepalmː

Until next time!
