We're adding Marni's Realm (private monster zones) as we revealed during CalpheON Episode 2. The concept of private monster zones came to fruition after we thought about how to improve the gameplay experience for our Adventurers who had limited time to play each day.● Added private monster zones, Marni's Realm.
We first brought this concept to life in the form of a "mini" server, but we felt that version was difficult to balance and didn't offer an equal opportunity access for all Adventurers. Hence we've come to develop and reveal Marni's Realm - Private Monster Zones. Of course, up until we settled on this current iteration, we went over countless feedback and opinions from our Adventurers, which helped us immensely. We're just happy to be able to finally reveal the fruits of our labor.
Marni's Realm does not apply to all monster zones, and we also focused on most popular zones sought after by our Adventurers, such as those in the Elvia Realm, Sycraia Underwater Ruins, and Gyfin Rhasia Temple.
It's quite simple to use. You will need to first move to the designated spot in a monster zone, open up the special menu and click a button to enter. Please note that we limited Marni's Realm to certain parts of a monster zone in order to lessen the burden on each server.
For example, upon entering Marni's Realm at the Orc Camp, you'll find yourself only able to move around and fight monsters in the "best spot" of the monster zone. Since you will be the only Adventurer in said realm, we didn't feel the need to open up the entire monster zone for Marni's Realm.
Also, your usage of Marni's Realm is limited to 1 hour per day.
While we heard your initial feedback on 1 hour being somewhat short, we didn't want Marni's Realm to end up overshadowing the main content of Black Desert, that is, fighting monsters in the open world alongside other Adventurers. Therefore, we have no plans to increase the daily limit at this time.
We have several large updates going live for official Black Desert servers to announce today.● Improved the loot and drop rates of each monster zone.
First off, we are adding traits unique to each monster zone for all regions (excluding Balenos, Serendia, and Mediah territories).
Based on recommended AP levels, these unique traits will include efficient Agris Fever point usage, higher drop rates for Specter's Energy, and higher Combat and Skill EXP rates within these zones. With this update, we hope to provide a broader variety of choices that will meet the diverse goals of our Adventurers as they head off to a monster zone.
We're also adjusting the loot tables of each monster zone.
Rather than adding new items to existing loot tables, we've taken the approach of looking at the overall balance of item drops and making adjustments where needed. Since we focused mostly on bolstering loot tables of zones that were slightly underwhelming, this update is expected to maintain or slightly increase profits from defeating monsters. For example, in the case of Cadry Ruins, which dropped Black Stones and Rosar Weapon Boxes, we slightly decreased the drop rate of Rosar Weapon Boxes and increased the drop rate for Caphras Stones and Scroll Written in Ancient Language, which we expect will slightly increase your gains from this zone. For Hystria Ruins, we made one of the zone's signature loot drops, the Ancient Power - Black Shard, now drop from Elten and Tukar Balten as well. These are the kinds of profit-increasing changes we implemented to balance out the differing loot tables between monsters and thereby increasing the potential for profit in most monster zones.
We're also expanding the means to obtain even greater item drop rate buffs than before.
Family Fame will now also add an additional item drop rate buff, and we've increased and expanded the influence of the item drop rate buff gained from Ecology Knowledge. This change was made so that Adventurers would gain a sense of naturally benefiting from all the hard work they’ve put into playing the game.
In addition, we are raising the maximum item drop rate threshold to 400%.
You can reach up to Item Drop Rate +300% through various means such as scrolls, campsite buffs, ecology Knowledge benefits, in-game events, and Blessing of Kamasylve. Owning a territory will bump that Item Drop Rate up to +350%, and if playing on an Arena of Arsha server, you will reach the maximum possible item drop rate of +400%. On a side note, item drop rate buffs such as the Hot Time event will now also apply on Arena of Arsha servers.
Some of you may have different opinions regarding the means of reaching the maximum item drop rate threshold. However, we settled on this updated system while considering how difficult it was to previously reach Item Drop Rate +300% without special event buffs or scrolls. We will continue to work on providing greater means of obtaining these buffs, so we ask for your patience and understanding.
This update to monster zones is part of our ongoing efforts, including the Elvia Realm monster zone improvements and the introduction of Marni's Realm, to offer more PvE choices to our Adventurers, just as we had announced during the previous Calpheon Ball.
We worked long and hard to provide these updates in a timely manner and will continue to work hard in order to give all of our Adventurers the best possible gaming experience.
Thank you.
Improvements were made so that the Black Magic Crystals obtainable from defeating monsters will stack and take up one slot of your inventory. We hope this improvement will lessen the load in your inventory and allow you to more conveniently use Processing (Heating, Grinding, etc.) with Magic Shards.● Improved all types of "Black Magic Crystals" that could be looted from defeating monsters to now be obtained as "Sealed Black Magic Crystals"
The dream horse, Mythical Diné, comes galloping across the waters! You can obtain a Mythical Diné via Mythical Awakening, and this legendary steed comes with its own unique skills such as Quicksilver, Triple Jump, and Protection of Okiara.
When we last revealed this mythical steed, many of our Adventurers displayed concern that it seemed to lack its signature horn. We are happy to report that Mythical Diné will be released with horn and all intact.
* Mythical Diné can utilize skills such as Drift, Instant Accel, and S: Instant Accel while maintaining high speeds to gallop across water for up to 15 seconds, which is around the time it would take to travel between two closely placed islands.
You require the Breath of Okiara to mount up on and move with a Mythical Diné standing on water, so use this resource wisely.
In order to make Atoraxxion more enjoyable, we removed the "10,000 Agris Fever point" cost for the weekly reward quests and increased the drop chance for items needed to access each zone in the dungeon and the "Circuit of Special Information" that grant special knowledge. We hope these changes will encourage more Adventurers to challenge Atoraxxion.● Improved the following items, which are required to craft items that grant access to each zone in Atoraxxion, to now have a 100% chance to drop.
We're adding a processing recipe and quests to revert Combatant's Stone back into Narchillan gear.● Added the means to revert Combatant's Stones once converted from Narchillan gear back into gear.
Use Heating on Combatant's Stones and Narchillan gear to reobtain Spirit's First Breath, and bring 7 of these to Fughar to reobtain the 7 different Narchillan gear types.
If you are ever in need of the Combatant Stones once more, use Heating on the Combatant's Stone Fragment obtained earlier along with a Spirit's First Breath to reobtain the Combatant's Stone.
We're also adding a recurring quest to obtain the Canon weapon required for obtaining Narchillan gear.
We have added the Artifact Preset function to make it easier for Adventurers to use artifacts.
After the release of the Artifact Inventory, we worked hard to get the preset function out as quickly as possible.
You can now create presets by selecting the "Edit Preset" button in the Artifact Inventory. Then you can select the "Equip" button of a preset to equip and manage your artifacts.
Especially since the Artifact Inventory is shared within your Family, this function makes it convenient for you to manage artifacts across multiple characters.
We hope you will enjoy and take advantage of the new Artifact Present function.
We have adjusted the difficulty of the stronger world bosses such as Stormbringer Karanda, Nightmarish Kzarka, Bloodstorm Nouver, and Thundercloud Kutum.
We've reduced the damage of certain difficult-to-avoid and one-hit-kill attacks (regardless of being at appropriate DP levels), and slightly increased the damage of certain attacks that were previously negligible to avoid. We also worked on improving the visibility of the range and patterns of boss attacks so that Adventurers would be able to better react to and avoid them.
We also drastically reduced the amount of time Bloodstorm Nouver spends in flight and made Thundercloud Kutum's debuff to now be purified by 1 Adventurer instead of the previous 3, thus rewarding our Adventurers for properly managing these boss mechanics. Regarding boss rewards, we are still undergoing much discussion as we look over our data. We ask that you also share your feedback and opinions with us as well.
An artifact inventory applied to the entire Family was added so you can now manage and keep your artifacts and lightstones separately. We developed this inventory with the purpose of adding a separate space that allows you to manage artifacts and lightstones without taking up your existing inventory, also taking into consideration the greater variety of artifacts and lightstones to be added in the future.● Added an artifact inventory which allows you to store artifacts and lightstones separately from your regular inventory.
The inventory was created so that you can store up to 30 artifacts, and for lightstones, each one stored will be stacked and displayed similarly to the "Palette" feature.
Additionally, the artifact inventory is shared amongst your Family. All of your characters can manage the items stored in the inventory, but when you infuse or unequip any stored artifacts or lightstones, please take note that you must move them from your artifact inventory to your regular inventory.
Artifacts and lightstones were updated in hopes of providing great variety to how you enjoy the game. We are considering upgrading presets and other functions to broaden utilization in addition to the update of new artifacts and lightstones, so we hope you look forward to it. Thank you.
The durability of artifacts will now be unlimited, as mentioned during the QNA session of CalpheON Episode 2. There may have been some Adventurers who've used Item Brand Spell Stones due to the immense durability consumption of artifacts. The precious Item Brand Spell Stones that you used will be sent to your in-game mailbox.● Changed the durability of artifacts to now be unlimited.
We placed the “usage” section of the improved item descriptions at the top for this week's update so that you can more clearly see how an item is to be used. Item descriptions that will be updated later will also be improved so that you can check their usage first. Also, the items that already have the improved item descriptions will be revised again after the said change is done being applied.● Improved the item descriptions for 322 items including Magic Crystals, potions, Enchanted Scrolls, etc.
The "Barrier of Infestation" content, where you could directly face off against a World Boss, is one of various ways from which you can obtain permanent stat bonuses outside of upgrading your weapon. We changed Kzarka of the Barrier of Infestation to be able to be attempted by a single person as we decided that they can be defeated without the help of other Adventurers.● Changed the Barrier of Infestation (I to III) quests to a solo quest.
Papua Crinea is both a place designed to put Adventurers' minds at ease, providing a bit of a respite for exhausted adventures, while also inhabited by cute and cuddly Otters and Papus. With transformation scrolls, you are able to turn into a Papu or an Otter and see their stories unfold on this island. To keep to the idea that the islands should serve as a place of "healing," we've improved the "Stoneback Crab" quests in Papua Crinea so that our Adventurers can now complete them singlehandedly.● Improved the Papua Crinea quests as follows:
The increase in Contribution EXP rewarded from quests will also be applied for 183 quests in Valencia, 103 quests in Kamasylvia, and 75 quests in Drieghan, following the previous increase in Contribution EXP rewarded from quests that have been applied for two weeks in other regions. We are planning to apply an increase in Contribution EXP rewards up to O'dyllita and the Mountain of Eternal Winter.● Increased the Contribution EXP of 183 quests in Valencia.
To increase the strategic element of Recovery Centers as the battle rages on during Node/Conquest Wars, we decided to change how the centers impact the cooldown for reviving characters. Whereas previously the centers only reduced your maximum cooldown timer for revival, they will now reduce the amount of cooldown time left before your character can be revived once more. We hope this change will not only increase the strategic value of Recovery Centers but also boost the pace of battle during Node/Conquest Wars.● Improved the cooldown reduction effect applied to revival that was dependent on the number of installed Recovery Centers during Node/Conquest Wars as follows.
After this update goes live, we will keep a close eye on whether this change greatly hinders the defensive side and make adjustments accordingly.
We're implementing the improvements to how pets loot items as we mentioned during CalpheON - Episode 2. The pre-existing system was where your pets would follow your character's movements while looting along the way. However, this would make it so that the more your character moved, the slower your pets would loot. Many of our Adventurers gave us consistent feedback on this matter, so we looked into many different ways to improve this system through much deliberation and testing. Thus, we ended up modifying your pets to now prioritize looting items over movement. After the update, regardless of how fast your character moves, you will find your pets looting most of the items they may have previously missed, and we've also made your pet's looting ability no longer affect other pet abilities such as finding rare monsters or detecting enemy players.● Improved the way pets loot items.
We've added the improvements and changes regarding the spirit weapons in Serendia Elvia Realm as we mentioned during CalpheON - Episode 2. We've increased the spawn rate of spirit weapons for all monster zones and monsters ranging from 2 to 35 times more than before. There are three types of spirit weapons which are all "one-time use items," and each were designed while considering the unique characteristics of each monster zone of the Elvia Realm. After the initial update, while many Adventurers enjoyed utilizing these weapons, there were complaints that the weapon spawns weren't bound to the individual, as well as the difference in loot gained that was largely dependent on how long you retained a spirit weapon in your possession. In response, we made a few adjustments in hopes of preserving the original design while supporting our Adventurers in the process.● The ancient spirits in Serendia Elvia Realm have begun resisting the energies of Hadum.
First off, spirit weapons will prioritize being bound first to you and your party members. We hope this makes it less stressful when a spirit weapon first spawns, and some Adventurers may be able to use this to their strategic advantage.
We greatly increased their spawn rate so our Adventurers will be able to enjoy a steady pace of obtaining the spirit weapon buff while fighting monsters in the Elvia Realm zones. However, to make sure all Adventurers have a fair chance of obtaining a spirit weapon, we added a 10-minute cooldown. Once you finish using the spirit weapon (for 10 minutes), you won't be able to obtain another one for 10 minutes. Certain Adventurers may find themselves obtaining the spirit weapon buff less frequently than before, but we hope you understand that we made these changes so everyone has an equal fighting chance.
We added the "Extra AP Against Monsters +3" effect to be applied while the Blessing of the Elvia Spirits buff is in effect to increase combat effectiveness during other spirit weapon buffs' cooldown Also, we increased the quantity of Predator's Roots obtainable from daily quests in the Elvia Realm to slightly increase opportunities that allow you to start defeating monsters with your spirit weapon ready in advance.
After the update, we feel that the overall vibe of the Elvia Realm monster zones will change, and we will continue to play and test them ourselves to make sure we maintain the uniqueness of these zones.
We've made changes to the drop rates and combat balance in the Elvia Realm monster zones. We particularly focused on making adjustments so there wouldn't be huge discrepancies in the amount of loot obtained across all the monster zones. We felt that we needed to hash this aspect out first in order for Adventurers to feel that they had a broader variety of choice in these monster zones. And so, we've made a few large changes.● Changed the following monster zones in the Serendia Elvia Realm.
First, we adjusted the optimal AP levels for all Elvia Realm monster zones. To lessen the discrepancy regarding loot between monster zones, Adventurers with AP levels closest to the optimal levels will now see the most efficiency compared to those with AP much higher than the optimal levels. We hope this adjustment will encourage Adventurers to seek out the monster zone best suited to their current AP levels.
With the improved spirit weapons increasing the potential number of monsters you can defeat, we've re-adjusted the loot drops. Whereas before the spawn rate for spirit weapons and profits gained from loot obtained varied depending on each monster zone, we increased the maximum lootable amount of Seed of Void, Valtarra's Flame, Okiara's Tide, and Narc's Lightning items that are used to reform Blackstar gear to balance the potential profits obtainable throughout monster zones in the Serendia Elvia Realm.
We made quite a few impactful changes with spirit weapons, combat balance, drop rates, and pet behavior AI, which we expect will address what was lacking in all Elvia Realm monster zones excluding Orc Camp. We will keep a close eye to see how these balance changes unfold and make further tweaks as we see fit. With these improvements to the Elvia Realm monster zones, we hope to continue developing and make improvements so that all of our Adventurers will enjoy the freedom to choose from a wide variety of monster zones to battle monsters in.
In the process of rebooting Tamer, we focused on enhancing her representation and unique combat style by increasing the utilization of Heilang. After the reboot, many Adventurers have been enjoying combat with the improved utilization of Heilang. However, Adventurers playing other classes as well as Adventurers playing Tamer have given us feedback on how only the skill Roaring is used while mounted on a horse. We thought a lot about this situation and came to the conclusion that it does require some improvement and change. First of all, the overall cooldown was reduced for the skill Prime: Roaring, but it was changed to not be activated during cooldown. Instead, the skill effects of Prime: Roaring were adjusted to be applied in other skills as well since it is an important skill on the ground as well. Also, adjustments were made to work as a substitute when Roaring cannot be activated such as skill combos or improvements on utilization so that you can deal damage enough. Due to this adjustment, you'll no longer be able to use only Roaring while mounted like you could before. This might be slightly disappointing for many Adventurers playing Tamer, but we thought it was a necessary improvement, considering future updates including Pet AI improvements and the development of Tier 5 pets, etc. and in the long run. We ask for our Tamer Adventurers to be understanding of this. We will continue to check and make improvements even after the update.● Roaring - Made the following changes:
We've added two new Prime skills for Drakania with today's update. Designed for either solo or combo use, these skills will bring about a slight change to Drakania's overall PvE and PvP skillset.● Added two Succession skills, Prime: Ascent and Prime: Sundering Claw.
For PvE, the addition of these Prime skills bring about a more completed feel to Drakania's Succession, along with boosting its functionality. "Prime: Sundering Claw" is particularly useful during the down time when powerful ion-consuming skills such as Blazing Strike or Brimbolt Strike are on cooldown, while "Prime: Ascent" can deal great area of effect damage when comboed after skills with limited movement/control such as Markthanan's Scale or Flourish.
For PvP, the addition of these Prime skills bring about a noticeable change. The added skills each have Forward Guard and Super Armor, respectively, which not only grant safer means of dealing damage, but also reduce the focus on dealing damage with Brimbolt Strike alone. We've also changed Brimbolt Raze's “All Accuracy increase” buff to now activate on Skewer hits. We originally designed Drakania to be capable of maintaining a higher level of accuracy, but we felt her accuracy buffs were a bit too good so we felt this was a necessary balance change. While some of you may miss retaining such accuracy increase buffs as before, we hope you understand that we added these Prime skills to better balance the class. We will continue to keep an eye on Drakania for PvP even after the patch and make adjustments where needed.
You can now keep multiple Talibre's Tears (an item required to enter Atoraxxion, a co-op dungeon) conveniently in your storage and inventory since they were changed to now be stacked instead of taking up individual slots in your inventory.● Improved Talibre's Tear to now be stackable in one slot of your inventory.
Weekly quests from which you can obtain materials required to craft Odore's Spirit Essence and Ornette's Sprit Essence were added.● Added six weekly quests from which you can obtain materials required for crafting Odore's Spirit Essence and Ornette's Spirit Essence.
You can now additionally obtain one of the items listed in the chart below just by investing around an hour of your time per week.
We hope for Adventurers who are attempting to crafting Odore's Spirit Essences and Ornette's Spirit Essences can now aim towards achieving a more visible goal and Adventurers who haven't been able to make attempts and have just started the adventure to think of it as a steppingstone in the adventure.
Following the previous Contribution EXP boosts for a total of 344 quests in Balenos and Serendia, the Contribution EXP obtained were also boosted for a total of 818 quests in Calpheon and Mediah. Likewise, not only will we continue our improvements on new contents but also on existing content as well.● Increased the Contribution EXP for 476 quests in Calpheon.
As Black Desert has been on our adventure together with our Adventurers for a long time, there has been numerous items added into the world of Black Desert through the weekly updates. Therefore, this made it difficult for new Adventurers that are starting out to figure out what the items were for and whether or not they should it them or use them. So, we will strive to improve the item descriptions so that it is easier for new Adventurers to decide if they want to keep, collect, or use them.● Improved the item descriptions of 316 items. It will clearly state how they can be obtained and what they are used for.
Black Stones, Memory Fragments, Hunter's Seals, Gold Bars, Node/Conquest War items, and many more items would naturally pile up in our Adventurer's Inventory and take up a significant amount of weight. However, this will be changed as 344 items had their weight reduced. We hope this will help our Adventurers take off on their adventures, lighter than before.
We increased the contribution EXP rewards for the regular quests in Balenos and Serendia. The regular quests are optional in the world of Black Desert, however, we felt that new Adventurers starting out and taking the time to explore the world should have enough points to rent storage and activate production nodes.
As announced during CalpheON Episode 2, the processing stones were combined. We searched for a way to combine these stones together as many of our Adventurers have requested this change. Now, Adventurers will be able to mass process a variety of items with a single processing stone. We are also currently working hard on developing the Life Inventory and Lightstone Inventory.● Combined processing stones that were differentiated by types.
As the processing stones were consolidated, the pre-existing processing stones that you had can either be used as an item or sold to NPC vendors for Silver. The pre-existing processing stones in your possession have all been replaced with "Sealed" processing stones. If you would like to use the processing stone as an item, then you can equip it after using it with Simple Alchemy (L).● The following changes were made to your pre-existing Manos, Techthon, Loggia Processing Stones you have in your possession:
Otherwise, you can sell all the extra processing stones for Silver to NPC vendors at the highest price that they were being sold at on the Central Market across the world.
