Known Issue:

• We are aware of the intermittent issue where a Wagon cannot complete Transport. We are looking into resolving the issue right away. For the time being, please retry Transport after changing servers if your Transport is stalled for a long time and your Transport cannot be completed.
  
  
• We are aware of the issue where the passenger on the back seat of the Guild Elephant could inflict abnormal amount of damage. We are looking to resolve the issue right away.
  
  • We want to ask you for your patience as we will be restricting some of the skills available while on mount of the Guild Elephant. We apologize for the inconvenience.

• We are aware of the issue where the shadows look awkward when Display Quality in Settings is set at Low, Very Low, Lowest/Optimal, and Remastered mode. We will resolve this soon.
  
  
• We are aware of the intermittent delay in Key input and Interact (R) Key. We will look into the issue right away.

We have confirmed that after the maintenance of 29 August, it was possible for Cron Stones and Valks’ Cry to be extracted from the [Lahn] Lahr Arcien (15 Days) outfits. We initially blocked the use of these items to prevent abuse.

We’ve now corrected the issue and restored the use of [Lahn] Lahr Arcien items.

We have removed the silver gains from adventurers who have extracted the items. The amount that was taken away was the relevant item’s marketplace value in silver. The extracted [Lahn] Lahr Arcien (15 Days) outfit has also been restored and sent via in-game mail.

Those adventurers who could not enjoy their [Lahn] Lahr Arcien (15 Days) items due to this, will receive a new set via in-game mail.

This week we are bringing the Guild Alliance system which will allow you and your fellow players to use your powers combined in an alliance of up to 100 to help in Conquest and Node Wars!

Next, swimming has been improved. This new system should make swimming a bit more intuitive while you’re diving deep for all that sunken treasure squirrelled away in the vast ocean.

Also, we have added story quests that will allow players to instantly enter Aakman and Hystria. This will allow those who frequent these areas to save some time while searching for the entrances located in valencia.

You can also enjoy the #BDORemastered Festival where you can post and share any screenshots, streams, or an user-created content with us and have a chance to win rewards!

Content:

• Guild Alliance has been added.
  
  • An Alliance can have a maximum of 10 Guilds or 100 members. A minimum of 10 members and maximum of 90 members are required of Guilds seeking to join an Alliance. And this Guild Alliance can participate in Node/Conquest Wars.
    
  • Guilds who are already occupying a Node or Territory cannot join the Guild Alliance, and Guilds cannot join Guild Alliance while a Node/Conquest War is already under progress.
    
  • The founding Guild of the Guild Alliance becomes the ‘Supreme Guild’ and the Guild Master of the Supreme Guild can create the Guild Alliance using the Guild tab (G). The founding Guild Master of the Supreme Guild has to create a name for the Guild Alliance. Afterwards, the founding Guild Master can click on the ‘Add Guild’ icon to register Guild Names, Capacity (number of participants per Guild), and Distribution (ratio of tax distribution in the Guild Alliance. Then clicking on ‘Alliance Invitation’ will send invitations to the relevant Guild Masters of the registered Guilds logged on to the same server.
    
  • Supreme Guild can register Guild Alliance Emblem after purchasing [Guild] Emblem Certificate every Monday. The Guild Alliance Emblem and Name will only be exposed during Node/Conquest War, and upon occupation of the Node or Territory, the Guild Alliance Emblem and Name will be placed and displayed.
    
  • Invitations can be sent to the Guild Masters logged on to the same server to join the Guild Alliance. When sending the invitation, the tax distribution ratio must total at 100% in order for the Guild Alliance to be formed.
    
  • Supreme Guild, upon sending invitations, has to place quota on each Guild to fill in the required number of Guild Members joining the Guild Alliance. Supreme Guild cannot request quota on the number of Guild Members lower than the current number of the Guild. This means if the Guild that is invited has 30 members currently, you can request that Guild to provide 30 or more members to join the Guild Alliance. In addition, Guilds that accept the invite to join the Guild Alliance, while under the Guild Alliance affiliation, cannot accept new registrations to their Guild above the quota they have been given to fill.
    
  • Please take a look at the example below for clarification:
    
    • If Guild A at 45/100 members has been invited and given the quota of 50 members to provide to the Guild Alliance, Guild A can accept only 5 more new members to their Guild for a total size of 50 members while the Alliance affiliation is maintained.
      
    • If Guild B at 20/100 members has been invited and required to fill in 20 members of the Guild Alliance, Guild B can no longer add members to its Guild while the Alliance affiliation is maintained.
      
    • Therefore, even the Extra Large Guilds can form a Guild Alliance. Again, the Guilds quota on members to join Guild Alliance with a number lower than the members they currently have.
  • If the Guild Master disconnects or changes servers when having received the invitation to the Guild Alliance, the invitation will disappear. All invited guilds must accept the invitation for that Guild Alliance to be formed. In order to send another invitation, the Guild Master of the Supreme Guild can cancel the current one and resend the invitation.
    
  • The Guild Alliance will be disbanded if one of the Guilds leave. However, it is not possible to disband from an Alliance while a Node or Territory is being occupied.
    
  • Guild Members of Guilds under Guild Alliance cannot apply for Militia. Guilds with Guild Members applying for the Militia cannot join the Guild Alliance.
    
  • For Node/Conquest War, construction of Fort/Command Post/Field HQ is only allowed by Guild Master or Guild Officer of the Supreme Guild, and Annexes can be constructed by any member of rank Quartermaster or higher of each Guild. When a siege building is purchased, Guild Funds from each Guild will be used.
    
  • All members of the Guild Alliance can use the Annexes during Node/Conquest War, but Elephant Nursery can only be used by Guild Members of the Supreme Guild. Elephants that are already obtained can be used by all members of the Guild Alliance.
    
  • Any elephants or galleys from the Guilds (except those of the Supreme Guild) are automatically left in the dock during Node/Conquest Wars, and cannot be used until the Node/Conquest War ends.
    
  • If different Guild Alliances declare war on each other, they can attack each other if it’s not Node/Conquest War.

• Savage Rift has been updated.
  
  • The time required to protect 1 ~ 25 stages of monster waves has decreased by 4 minutes.
    
  • As Conquer Savage Rift event has ended, the special 26th stage that was available with a 50% has ended.
    
  • However, for the much participation and appreciation shown for this special content, the 26th special stage will be added as a permanent content with a slight change in specs.
    
    • The 26th special stage will open up with 40% chance.
      
    • The 26th stage will open up at 100% if Saunil appears.
      
    • Make sure you are fully prepared for the 26th stage as it will be very difficult to overcome.
  • Ogre Ring has been added to the loot list of the Savage Rift Reward Box that can be obtained upon successfully protecting the Sealed Tower in the 26th stage.
    
  • It has been added that hitting Cyclops with the [Savage] Lynch Cannon would apply Stun at 50% chance.
    
  • Knockback Resistance has increased for monsters in Savage Rift.
    
  • The installation time for the following has decreased.
    
    • Barricade: 5 sec. -> 2 sec.
      
    • Hwacha, Flame Tower: 10 sec. -> 5 sec.
      
    • Iron Barricade: 10 sec. -> 5 sec.

• Combat EXP obtainable using Book of Training - Combat has been increased for the following level caps.
  

System:

• Controls on Swimming has been made more convenient.
  
  • Navigation will now be available by pressing the T key. as you would perform Auto Run on ground, you can press the T key to perform Auto Swim.
    
  • When Navigation is activated, press T key to automatically swim to your destination.
    
  • If your Stamina is over 300, press the Shift key to swim faster.
    
  • If your Stamina is below 100, pressing T key to Auto Swim will only activate the motion to recover Stamina, and your character will start swimming again if the Stamina recovers to over 1,000.
    
  • Auto Swim can only be performed on the surface of the water and if you have dived down, you cannot perform Auto Swim.
    
    • Changing directions has been made easier when Swimming/Diving.
  • It will now be possible to move backwards diagonally.
    
  • The character will react faster to the directional arrow input of your control.
    
    • Keys to allow you to dive up or dive down while diving have been added.
      
    • While having pressed the Forward key ‘W,’ press ‘E’ to dive up.
      
    • While having pressed the Forward key ‘W,’ press ‘Q’ to dive down.
  • Stamina has increased by 50% of when the character takes Stamina recovery motion.
    
    • If Stamina is below 100 while floating on surface of the water, the character will now take the Stamina recovery motion automatically.

• It has been fixed that the sound effect that comes out for success or failure of Courser Awakening would come out correctly.
  
  
• Fixed the issue where the character would perform a walking motion inside Junaid River instead of swimming.
  
  
• Fixed the issue where the crown mark of a Guild that conquered Valencia would come out in silver color.
  
  
• It has been changed that the selling price of the Basteer Sub-weapon would not be displayed in its item tooltip.
  
  
• Fixed the issue where reconnecting to the game after being disconnected from the client during an action regarding World Map (M) would intermittently bring up the World Map (M) again but no control keys would work on the World Map.
  
  
• The busking music near Marketplace in Velia and the square in front of Heidel Fountain will now be controllable properly.

Game World:

• The maximum input of key commands in a certain period of time has been set in order to fix the issue of characters’ skill combos being activated at different rates depending on how fast a key command is inputted on a keyboard or how good a computer's hardware performance is.
  
  • Eventually, it may be possible that the amount of Milk obtainable at once from ‘Milk a Cow’ mini game may be less than before with certain high end PCs.
    
  • As a result, the amount of Milk that can be obtained once has been increased by approximately 50%.

• Fixed the issue where defense effect of Grapple was not being applied correctly when using Grapple skills.

This week we implement the new changes coming to the enhancement system. These new additions should make it easier to get the gear you need to take on bigger and badder enemies.

First we're adding Valks’ Cry, an item that will add to your current failstack up to +10. Additionally, we have added the option to extract Valks’ Cry and Cron Stones from Pearl Outfits. Valks’ Cry can also be obtained from events, drops, attendance, loyalty, and more. Alongside Valks’ we are adding Fairy's Blessing which will work the same as Valks’ Cry and can be obtained by trading in Leila's Petals to specific NPC’s.

The long awaited Caphras Stone enhancement system is also coming which once added to one of your items, will accumulate energy that will allow for an enhancement with a 100% chance of success.

To help usher in these changes, events will be starting which will help all of our adventurers understand these systems.

  • Valks’ Cry (Outfit Extraction)
    
    • Valks’ Cry and Cron Stone are items that help you enhance your gear. They will be obtainable through various ways such as droppable loot, event rewards, attendance rewards, NPC shop, Loyalties shop under Pearl Shop, and through extracting from Outfits.
      
    • Valks’ Cry increases your Valks enhancement chance by +1. At max, your Valks enhancement chance can be stacked up to +10 using Valks’ Cry. (Valks’ Cry is Family-bound).
      
    • The amount of Valks Enhancement Chance your character has will appear in the Enhancement window.
      
    • Cron Stone helps protect your Enhancement level from dropping when you fail at Enhancement. (Cron Stone is Family-bound).
      
      

      ※ Valks’ Cry or Cron Stone extracted from different components of gear of one-piece outfits that fill up as armor parts in Equipment will be accumulated and extracted altogether.
      
      i.e.) ※ The number of Valks’ Cry or Cron Stone extracted from an one-piece outfit like [Ninja] Gavi Regan Armor (which occupies 3 slots: top, gloves, and shoes) will be the same as if you had extracted a [Ninja] Cokro Clothes (top), [Ninja] Cokro Gloves, and [Ninja] Cokro Shoes. (A total of 32 Valks’ Cry will be extracted from [Ninja] Gavi Regan Armor.)

  • Caphras Stone
    
    • Once your item is combined with the Caphras Stone, it will begin to gain EXP and as your item increases in level it will gain a boost in stats. Once it has reached the maximum Caphras Level of 20 the ‘Upgrade Enhancement’ button will become activated and your gear can be enhanced to the next level i.e. III→IV, provided it is at Max Durability. Although, be warned, this will reduce Durability to 0 and reset the Caphras Level.
      
    • With the new enhancement system added, Ancient Spirit Dust and Caphras Stone have also been added.
      
    • You can get Caphras Stone x1 for performing Simple Alchemy with Ancient Spirit Dust x5 and Black Stone (Weapon/Armor) x1.
      
    • You can get Caphras Stone x10 by performing Simple Alchemy with Ancient Spirit Dust x50, Black Stone (Weapon/Armor) x10, and Black Stone Powder x1. However, you will get the same amount of Alchemy EXP as when you make the stones one by one.
      
    • You can obtain Ancient Spirit Dust and Caphras Stone from Mining, Underwater Gathering, Gathering (Collecting from tree sap or blood using Fluid Collector, Butchering, Lumbering), or from defeating monsters in areas of Balenos, Valencia and Kamasylvia.
      
    • Caphras Stone can also be obtained through Daily Quest rewards, and it can also be obtained at a chance from opening Narc Magic Sealing Stone Reward Bundle.

    • Ceilyn is located to the right of Herawen in Kamasylve Temple. However, this exchange will not be activated when the quests ‘Laila's Scattered Petals’ and ‘Mysterious Companion’ are under progress.

Greetings Adventurers,

The enhancement system in Black Desert Online is an important aspect in strengthening your characters. Upgrading is an essential part of your character’s progression and successfully enhancing a high level item is truly an exciting moment. However, it is also true that many adventurers face numerous failed enhancement attempts in their journey of achieving higher stats. As adventurers ourselves, we understand both the thrill and frustration that you experience. In order to help you overcome these challenges, we will be introducing Valks' Cry and Caphras Stones during our August 29th update maintenance.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Valks’ Cry, using the item will increase additional enhancement chance up to +10, which accumulates on top of your current enhancement chance. We are also acutely aware that players have voiced their opinion in the past regarding Valks’ Cry and have implemented alternative methods in which adventurers can obtain it through in-game features without Pearl outfits.

The original enhancement system was designed with a steep difficulty. Valks’ Cry was initially added with the intention to help adventurers new to the unique enhancement systems of Black Desert Online. In a recent internal study, it was concluded that NA/EU players were far less likely to engage in enhancement than other serviced regions. We believe the introduction of Valks’ Cry will add to our ongoing efforts to lower the hurdles of enhancement.

Valks’ Advice and Blacksmith’s Secret Book are the results of such efforts. These items act as supplementary features in obtaining the desired enhancement rate necessary to upgrade their gear. Along with the recently added Guaranteed Enhancement, we hope that this addition will better assist character progression and thereby allowing more adventurers to engage in core game contents such as Node War or Conquest War.

How to Obtain

• Purchase from the Loyalty Shop
  
  • Valks’ Cry will be obtainable through the Loyalty shop for 100 Loyalty each. A maximum of 5 Valk’s Cry items can be purchased in the Loyalty shop per week.

• Fairy’s Blessing
  
  • Fairy’s Blessing will work exactly the same as Valks’ Cry mechanically. 10 Laila’s Petals can be exchanged for 1 Fairy’s Blessing when you visit Fairy Queen Theiah or Ceilyn. Laila’s Petals are obtainable through defeating monsters, gathering, and fishing.

• Extraction from Pearl Shop Outfits
  
  • Valk’s Cry or Cron Stones can be extracted from Pearl outfits through Blacksmiths or Armor Vendors. Pearl Outfits purchased via in-game Marketplace with silver can also be used for extraction.

As previously mentioned, we will also be releasing the long asked for Caphras Enhancement, a new method to enhance high-end gear. Caphras Stones are added to balance the difficulties of RNG in the current enhancement system. Long-term adventurers will be able to obtain TET or PEN items without relying on enhancement chances.

Using Caphras Stones, which are obtainable in-game, the stats of TRI or higher gear can be enhanced up to 20 stages. Each stage will increase the stats of the item on a small scale. Once it is enhanced to its maximum stage, you will be able to enhance the gear to its next enhancement level with 100% enhancement rate. Please refer to the detailed page for more information on Caphras Stones.

Finally, as Valks' Cry and Cron Stones can be extracted from Pearl Outfits, it has become necessary to reflect its increased value in the marketplace. This is also adjusted in regards to inflation and the overall wealth of the player base. We hope this stimulates the market and gives everyone the chance to acquire pearl shop items through in-game means.The registerable quantity of pearl items will stay unchanged, up to 5 items a week. This change will also be applied with next week’s maintenance.

To help introduce these revisions and ensure everyone has a chance to familiarize themselves with them, we’ll be hosting a series of events.

• A Late Summer Night’s Dream
  
  • You can obtain Late Summer Night’s Wish Box, or Late Summer Night’s Dream Box via Challenge Tab by playing 1 hour or more, and open the box to randomly obtain one of the rewards including Valks’ Cry, Dandelion Weapon Box, Kzarka’s Sealed Weapon Box, Ogre Ring, and more.

• Valks Attendance Rewards
  
  • Valks Attendance Rewards will be back with even greater rewards such as Valks’ Cry, Advice of Valks, Sharp Black Crystal Shard, Hard Black Crystal Shard, Memory Fragment, [Event] Shakatu’s Luxury Box, and more.

• Black Spirit’s Adventure
  
  • Everyone’s favorite minigame, Black Spirit’s Adventure will be added with Valks’ Cry as its reward. Roll the dice to find out what rewards await you!

• Hands of Gold
  
  • Defeat Monsters/Gather/Combat with other Adventurers to collect [Event] Golden Troupe Coin and exchange them into valuable rewards including [Event] Shakatu’s Luxury Box. Note that the more you play during the event period, the more Coins you can collect.

• Te text “Additional damage to humans (enhancement level +6 or up)” has been added to the item descriptions of Dandelion awakening weapons of enhancement levels 0~20.
  
  
• Fixed the issue where Hunting notification, Conquest War warning, Upgraded Compass (Party member), Archaeologist’s Map icon would not be displayed.
  
  
• The level/point information widget, HP bar, Black Spirit’s Rage gauge, PvP button, and class-specific skill resource widgets have been combined. You can select “Custom HP Bar” in the Edit UI window to return and separate them to the way they were before.

• Hotkey (R) will no longer work for item exchange in the conversation window with an NPC.

• Fixed the issue where cooldown would be activated after ‘Tag Character’ failed in Danger Zones.
  
  
• Fixed the abnormal motion that came out when jumping in combat mode while mounting a Dream Horse.
  
  
• Fixed the issue where a character’s perspective would be set as the smallest (as in zoomed out to maximum).

Known Issues:

• We are aware of the issue where Rulupee of Golden Toad Inn at Heidel has appeared. Unfortunately the quest from Rulupee cannot be accepted at this time. We will soon introduce the quests from Rulupee as a permanent addition.
  
  
• We are aware of the graphical issue where certain areas with water appear to be transparent. We will resolve this issue shortly.

• The outlines of your character has been sharpened in Remastered mode.
  
  
• Fixed the issue where client would crash intermittently under certain conditions.
  
  
• Improved on the glaring effect from the sun in Remastered Mode and Ultra Mode.
  
  
• Improved on light reflection effects to be clearer on wet ground, metal, and any flashing material in Remastered Mode.
  
  
• A system message will now be displayed stating a smooth gameplay may not be guaranteed when switching on Ultra Mode.
  
  
• Improved upon dark areas in the streets to appear more natural.
  
  
• Fixed the issue where all servers were not being displayed in the Server Selection window.

Background, NPC, Effect:

• Previews of characters in Pearl Shop (F3) in Ultra Mode will now appear brighter.
  
• Anti-aliasing work has been performed to smooth out jagged lines or texture in Remastered Mode and Ultra Mode.
  
• Brightness in certain effects under Remastered Mode has been readjusted to improve upon the glaring effects.
  
• Fixed the issue where glaring effects would be displayed in certain environments such as in Ancient Stone Chamber in Remastered Mode or Ultra Mode.
  
• Improved upon dark areas in the streets to appear more natural.

UI:

• Fixed the issue where pressing ‘Ctrl + U’ key to hide UI would also cause slow motion to be activated.
  
  • It has been changed that after hiding UI with the ‘Ctrl + U,’ you have to press ‘U’ once again to activate slow motion.
