Hunters, gather together for a warm celebration of the all-new Holiday Joy Fest in the Seliana Gathering Hub! Log in starting on February 28 at 00:00am UTC (Feb 27 at 4:00pm PST) to enjoy the new Gathering Hub decorations, Armor Sets, Weapon Pendants, Event Quests, and a brand-new food platter filled with delicious-looking dumplings!
[Joyful Tickets] Just like previous seasonal events, each day you log in, you’ll get an exclusive event ticket; this time, it’s the Joyful Ticket. These useful tickets can be used to craft or be exchanged for a variety of items. Take some Joyful Tickets to the Smithy (along with a few other materials), and you’ll be able to craft the Oolong Armor and the Lucky Crimson Tiger Pendant for yourself and the Shishi-mai Set for your Palico. And if you’re feeling particularly lucky, you can take your Joyful Tickets to the Elder Melder to try your odds at getting some Armor Skill Decorations by first exchanging the ticket for a Melding Ticket (by the way... you can also get Melding Tickets by helping the Steamworks during this Seasonal Event). Or you could even exchange them for the super fun Snowman item!
[VIP Joyful Tickets] Keep on hunting during the Holiday Joy Fest and you’ll come across a rarer ticket type… the VIP Joyful Tickets! These will net you some of the more premium event exclusive items, such as the Oolong Layered Armor and different color variations of the Lucky Tiger Pendant. If you want to increase your odds of getting VIP Joyful Tickets, make sure to craft the standard Oolong Armor and wear it during your time helping Low Rank & High Rank hunters (via the Hunter Helper system), or while you clear special Event Quests.
By the way, we’ve added some new Event Quests with new unique gear for you to craft! - A Chilling Entrance (Sealed Dragon Cloth) - Muscle Monkey Madness (Buff Body) - Scores of Ores (Mad Scavenger Pickaxe) - Duffel Duty (Duffel Penguin Mask)
[Winter Star Fest] And for those playing Monster Hunter: World or just wanting to spend some time in Astera, be sure to make a trip up to that Gathering Hub to enjoy the return of the Winter Star Fest. More details here
Enjoy, hunters!

We are releasing a fix patch Ver. 11.50.01 to fix the below issues. Note: The patch is estimated at around 2.5GB. The overall data size will not fluctuate from this.
● A patch is scheduled for release on to address an issue that affects Observation Log photos for certain players. Note: - This issue will not have any effect on your story progress, nor on the status of your observations. - The issue occurs when deleting or submitting photos, so we highly recommend avoiding these actions while playing. - If you have already encountered this issue, it's recommended to not delete or add more photo data, and to keep your current data. - We expect photo data that can't be read will become readable again after the patch is released, however if you take more photos, you won't be able to restore your old data.

Music aficionados, rejoice! A variety of soundtracks from our recent releases are now available to purchase as stand-alone albums via the new Steam Music Player, including the brand-new Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Original Soundtrack!
Previously available only as DLC that required their respective game purchases, these soundtracks are now part of our first wave of music being converted to Steam’s new Music Player. This means you can actually enjoy the game’s rockin’ tunes without necessarily owning the full game. And to get the party started, we have even discounted some of the soundtracks for a limited time!
All soundtracks are available in a variety of formats including MP3, AAC and FLAC, offering plenty of flexibility between small file sizes and superb audio quality. Also note that if you already owned these soundtracks as part of previous DLC purchases, you get to keep them in your Steam Music Player and have access to the newly available file formats for certain soundtracks.

Get ready, hunters! The indomitable Rajang has finally made its way to the New World, and this ruthless beast offers a challenge for even the most experienced hunters.
■New Monster: Rajang Your new Special Assignment will begin after you’ve finished the main story campaign of Iceborne—this means you’ve solved the mystery of the Old Everwyrm—and visited the Guiding Lands at least once. Once you feel ready for a brutal fight against one of the strongest monsters in the world of Monster Hunter, head over to Seliana and speak the Admiral to begin your quest. Defeating this ultra-aggressive foe will, of course, yield materials to craft some of the most powerful weapons and armor in the game. Good luck, hunters.
■Guiding Lands: Volcanic Region The lead up to the battle against Rajang is also treacherous, as the Guiding Lands will expand with the scorching Volcanic Region. This biome is home to some fiery monsters, such as Lavasioth, Uragaan and the explosive Brachydios. Pack some Cool Drinks before braving this intense heat.
■Raccoon City collaboration
The special Raccoon City collaboration Event Quest will be available for a limited time to Iceborne hunters. Take on this peculiar Blackveil Vaal Hazak, to get materials to craft Full Armor Sets based on iconic Raccoon City survivors Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Other rewards include some fanciful Raccoon City themed pendants for your weapons.
■Weapon Design Contest Winner
Charge Blade fans, rejoice! The majestic “Black Eagle” is Iceborne’s weapon design contest winner, featuring unique feathery special effects. Congrats again to its creator, sheep! Here’s a word from Monster Hunter series executive director and art director Kaname Fujioka:
To put it simply, the main reason we chose this weapon design as this contest's winner is that "it looks cool." The way the black feathers form a wing-like silhouette, the contrast between the gold ornamentation and the lightning-like glow effects, and the nice gloss on the feathers all combine to create a weapon that not only looks cool but can be called beautiful as well. We also thought it was very interesting how the feathers open up, alluding to the release of energy when the weapon changes from its shield form into an axe. The design we received was very complete, so we were able to implement a version that loses none of the original design. We think the final product balances the hardness of the charge blade with the pleasant softness of the feathers, creating a delicate yet powerful-looking weapon that we hope other players will think looks as "cool" as we do.
■Palico Design Contest Winner
The perfect companion to hunters’ Wiggler headgear is finally here! This adorable set includes a headpiece, armor and a coral-shaped weapon for your Palico. Once again, congrats Zyralynn_art! And here are some comments from Kaname Fujioka:
We received a terrific variety of design ideas for the Palico gear, just as we did with the hunter weapon. We're very grateful for all of the wonderful entries. We had a lot of fun choosing the Palico gear, because many of them had such iconic visual gags. We had trouble narrowing it down because there were so many funny ideas, but in the end we had to choose the "Wiggler Head" design, especially since it would make such a great companion to the hunter head armor that was so popular in World. We also thought it was a nice touch that the Palico version uses the "Wiggler Queen," which is the rarer of the two endemic creatures. The simple way the Palico was wearing the pot as armor was also very cute, so we did our best to preserve the original relaxed look while slightly downplaying the way the arms and legs are still visible. We hope players will go out on "wiggly" walks together with their Palicoes!
■Upcoming Events You’ll be able to partake in an all-new seasonal event, the Holiday Joy Fest in Seliana or the reprise of the Winter Star Fest in Astera! Starting on Feburary 28th 00:00 UTC, visit both Gathering Hubs to experience twice the amount of seasonal celebration!
[Bug Fixes] ■Implemented an improvement to the issue with framerate stability when DirectX12 API is enabled, first reported on January 10, 2020.
■ Fixed an issue where temporary files were saved to the wrong location when taking in-game screenshots while the Steam Cloud is active.
Please note that this issue has no effect on game progression, but if the folder "_TempPhoto" has been created in the root folder of the drive where you have the application installed, it may be safely deleted. Once the patch has been applied, future files will be saved to the same folder as save data.
