[Bug Report] We have confirmed reports of some users experiencing game crashes when using the High Resolution Texture Pack with certain AMD graphics cards after updating to Ver. 11.50.00.
While we continue to look into a more permanent solution, please try disabling the High Resolution Texture Pack before playing. To disable it, try either of the methods below.
■Troubleshooting Methods 1. From the title screen, select "Options" → "Display" → "Advanced Graphics Settings" → "Texture Quality", and select any option OTHER than "High Resolution Texture Pack".
2. In the Steam client, right click on "MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD" in your library, select "Properties...", then select the DLC tab in the Properties window. From the downloadable content list, find the item "Monster Hunter: World - High Resolution Texture Pack" and uncheck the box in the "INSTALL" column.
We sincerely apologize for this issue and ask for your patience as we look into a solution.

Get ready, hunters! The indomitable Rajang has finally made its way to the New World, and this ruthless beast offers a challenge for even the most experienced hunters.
■New Monster: Rajang Your new Special Assignment will begin after you’ve finished the main story campaign of Iceborne—this means you’ve solved the mystery of the Old Everwyrm—and visited the Guiding Lands at least once. Once you feel ready for a brutal fight against one of the strongest monsters in the world of Monster Hunter, head over to Seliana and speak the Admiral to begin your quest. Defeating this ultra-aggressive foe will, of course, yield materials to craft some of the most powerful weapons and armor in the game. Good luck, hunters.
■Guiding Lands: Volcanic Region The lead up to the battle against Rajang is also treacherous, as the Guiding Lands will expand with the scorching Volcanic Region. This biome is home to some fiery monsters, such as Lavasioth, Uragaan and the explosive Brachydios. Pack some Cool Drinks before braving this intense heat.
■Raccoon City collaboration
The special Raccoon City collaboration Event Quest will be available for a limited time to Iceborne hunters. Take on this peculiar Blackveil Vaal Hazak, to get materials to craft Full Armor Sets based on iconic Raccoon City survivors Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Other rewards include some fanciful Raccoon City themed pendants for your weapons.
■Weapon Design Contest Winner
Charge Blade fans, rejoice! The majestic “Black Eagle” is Iceborne’s weapon design contest winner, featuring unique feathery special effects. Congrats again to its creator, sheep! Here’s a word from Monster Hunter series executive director and art director Kaname Fujioka:
To put it simply, the main reason we chose this weapon design as this contest's winner is that "it looks cool." The way the black feathers form a wing-like silhouette, the contrast between the gold ornamentation and the lightning-like glow effects, and the nice gloss on the feathers all combine to create a weapon that not only looks cool but can be called beautiful as well. We also thought it was very interesting how the feathers open up, alluding to the release of energy when the weapon changes from its shield form into an axe. The design we received was very complete, so we were able to implement a version that loses none of the original design. We think the final product balances the hardness of the charge blade with the pleasant softness of the feathers, creating a delicate yet powerful-looking weapon that we hope other players will think looks as "cool" as we do.
■Palico Design Contest Winner
The perfect companion to hunters’ Wiggler headgear is finally here! This adorable set includes a headpiece, armor and a coral-shaped weapon for your Palico. Once again, congrats Zyralynn_art! And here are some comments from Kaname Fujioka:
We received a terrific variety of design ideas for the Palico gear, just as we did with the hunter weapon. We're very grateful for all of the wonderful entries. We had a lot of fun choosing the Palico gear, because many of them had such iconic visual gags. We had trouble narrowing it down because there were so many funny ideas, but in the end we had to choose the "Wiggler Head" design, especially since it would make such a great companion to the hunter head armor that was so popular in World. We also thought it was a nice touch that the Palico version uses the "Wiggler Queen," which is the rarer of the two endemic creatures. The simple way the Palico was wearing the pot as armor was also very cute, so we did our best to preserve the original relaxed look while slightly downplaying the way the arms and legs are still visible. We hope players will go out on "wiggly" walks together with their Palicoes!
■Upcoming Events You’ll be able to partake in an all-new seasonal event, the Holiday Joy Fest in Seliana or the reprise of the Winter Star Fest in Astera! Starting on Feburary 28th 00:00 UTC, visit both Gathering Hubs to experience twice the amount of seasonal celebration!
[Bug Fixes] ■Implemented an improvement to the issue with framerate stability when DirectX12 API is enabled, first reported on January 10, 2020.
■ Fixed an issue where temporary files were saved to the wrong location when taking in-game screenshots while the Steam Cloud is active.
Please note that this issue has no effect on game progression, but if the folder "_TempPhoto" has been created in the root folder of the drive where you have the application installed, it may be safely deleted. [Notification] We are still looking into reported issues of frame rate instability. While looking into the issue, we were able to identify specific settings which triggered this issue, as well as several temporary countermeasures. The problem has been confirmed to occur when all of the following settings are true:
- The refresh rate on your monitor is set higher than 60 Hz; - You are using windowed or borderless windowed mode; - You are using a G-SYNC compatible display; - You have selected "Enable for windowed and full screen mode" under "Set up G-SYNC" in the NVIDIA control panel
Note: We have confirmed that this issue only affects some, but not all, G-SYNC and Adaptive-Sync compatible monitors.
If the above settings apply to you, please try the following: - Change the game to full screen mode - If you still wish to try playing in windowed or borderless windowed mode, open the NVIDIA Control Panel, select "Set up G-SYNC" from the left column, and either: (a) Uncheck the box for "Enable G-SYNC, G-SYNC Compatible", or (b) Change the option from "Enable for windowed and full screen mode" to "Enable for full screen mode"
There is a good chance that this will fix the issue temporarily, so we ask that affected users please try this while we look into more permanent solutions.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to look into this issue and others that may affect drops in frame rate. Please stay tuned for news on any future developments.

[Developer Update] We've received some community feedback noting that in some cases, there was limited to no improvement in CPU utilization after applying the Ver.10.12.01 patch that was published on January 17, 2020 (UTC 0:00).
While the dev team will continue investigating the matter, we would like to suggest that those who continue experiencing heavy CPU usage try capping the frame rate to "60" or "30" under Options -> Display -> Frame Rate. This may help alleviate the issue or reduce overall CPU usage.
We will also add additional frame rate cap options in a future Title Update that will allow users to fine-tune and set an optimal frame rate cap to better match the individual PC's capabilities.
Please note that Patch Ver.10.12.01 is not intended to solve frame rate performance issues and "hitches" that are occurring for some users.
This is one of the priority issues the dev team will continue looking into, and progress will be shared in a future message update and patch release.
Once again, our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this issue may have caused. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

The latest patch version for MONSTER HUNTER WORLD: ICEBORNE is Ver.10.12.01.
