Over the past two years, legions of long-time, dedicated fans have dropped onto the Battleground and perfected their strategies to earn that Chicken Dinner. However, it is safe to say that PUBG can sometimes be an intimidating experience for players just starting out. To assist those players and provide official information to our existing fans, we’re introducing a new feature to our Official Global Website PUBG.com we call the PUBG Survivor’s Guide.
Whether you’re brand new to PUBG, a veteran Battle Royale player trying PUBG for the first time, or someone looking to brush up on their skills, the PUBG Survivor’s Guide will walk you through the foundations of the game to get you better acquainted with Battle Royale and PUBG’s unique survival experience.
You can visit PUBG Survivor’s Guide from our Official Global Website PUBG.com menu, or by clicking the link below.
PUBG Survivor’s Guide will roll out across several phases and currently features gameplay, weapon, map and control sections for you to explore:
The Gameplay section consists of a series of videos where we teach the fundamentals of the game, which will be expanded in the coming weeks.
The Weapon section will allow you to view each weapon, and some information about it including magazine size and ammo type. More detailed information such as damage comparison between weapons and bullet drop graphs will be introduced later.
The Map section shows off each of the game’s Battlegrounds, as well as hot spots located within. We’ll also be expanding this section using internal data later on.
There’s also a detailed layout and explanation of the keyboard control scheme/controller setup under Control.
Currently, our Survivor’s Guide only supports English and Korean, but we’re planning to add more language support in the near future for PUBG fans all around the world.
Our goal is to create a feature that is helpful to all of our players, from a first-time survivor to a seasoned veteran, by implementing things such as weapon comparisons with attachment selector, bullet drop graphs, heat-map, and more. We’ll have more details on these additional features later, but for now, visit PUBG.com to see the first implementation of the new Survivor’s Guide!

Now on live servers, Update #30 is dropping a lot of new content and updates onto the Battlegrounds. From a new weapon to an ambitiously amphibious way to traverse the map, this update most certainly has something explosive enough to blow everyone’s minds.
To get a visual rundown of everything important coming in the patch, check out our patch report here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nP9yM0hsbY Be sure to watch out for the new .45 calibre Deagle when you come upon it, as the high damage cannon handgun can crack a level 3 helmet in two headshots. That is, if you’re able to control the recoil enough to land your shots. We’re also dropping a new, heavily armored assault vehicle in the BRDM-2 to win chicken dinners on land and sea. But what about the air? The new ledge grab feature will help you there, as you can now jump, climb and vertically navigate the Battlegrounds in ways you couldn’t before.
Communications between squad mates just got way easier with the introduction of Radio Messages, short burst on-screen text that allows players to call out items and audibles throughout the match. You can learn more about Radio Messages, our latest weapon and vehicle, bug fixes and much more in the complete patch notes here.
Our next Survivor Pass is right around the corner, but until it kicks off, be sure to earn BP through the Survival Rewards System to get cool loot. So drop in, loot yourself a Deagle and blast your way to a chicken dinner.
The first all-star event in PUBG Esports is coming to the spiritual home of competitive gaming as Nations Cup takes over Seoul, South Korea from August 9-11 in a tournament featuring the top battle royale players in the world fighting for national pride. Nations Cup will include a $500,000 prize pool and a chance for one team to claim the title of “best in the world.”
Nations Cup teams will be made up of players selected by their peers or through other country-specific methods. Once top-tier players are assembled on a team, it’s all about building chemistry and developing cohesion in time for a championship run at Nations Cup. At this tournament, talent won’t be a question; it’ll be which four-player team can compete together as a unit, secure enough Chicken Dinners, and take the crown for their team and country.
Nations Cup caps off a thrilling summer of PUBG Esports, coming just a few days after the MET Asia Series: PUBG Classic in Bangkok, which follows immediately after the GLL Grand Slam: PUBG Classic in Stockholm. Those two PUBG Classics will reward top teams with a hefty prize pool and will grant an additional slot at the PUBG Global Championship to the winner’s home region. Nations Cup is also the last international event before the start of Phase 3 in PUBG Esports, the final stretch of the season when teams in every competitive region will be looking to earn enough points to qualify for the PUBG Global Championship. There’s no rest for the talented in PUBG Esports. As a special event wedged in between weeks of regular season slugfests, Nations Cup is nothing less than a battle among the strongest players in the world.
Mark your calendars for August 9 and the start of Nations Cup. The tournament will be live on Twitch and thrilling the masses at the Jangchung Arena in Seoul.
Patch update #30 is here and it is chock-a-block full of new features, vehicles, and a much demanded addition to our handgun selection.
We heard your calls for more items to use your BP on, so in addition to making even more BP purchasable items in the future, we are creating more opportunities for you to earn the in-game currency with Survival Supply missions until the next Survivor Pass.
As for what's landing in this update, awaiting players on the Battlegrounds are the .45 caliber hand cannon that is the Deagle, amphibious assault vehicle the BRDM-2 and an explosive new way to use an old favorite with explodable Gas Cans!

Coordinating with global teammates is also getting a big step forward with the introduction of radio messages, short burst text communications for better identifying items, clarifying objectives and cooperating with teammates.

BRDM-2 can only be called in as a special Care Package using the Flare Gun on all maps and it replaces the armored UAZ.
Over waterways or terrain, this amphibious vehicle increases your options to navigate firefights and the Battlegrounds themselves.
Characteristics
BRDM-2's total HP is 2500 and its health is twice as much as UAZ, while its gigantic, sturdy wheels cannot be damaged.
Powerful bulletproof vehicle that can reduce incoming damage such as ammunition based assaults as well as grenades and red zone damage.

Gameplay
Ledge Grab
"Find new ways to fight, jump, grab, get up, and go with our new Ledge Grab feature!"
Features
Ledge grab allows you to take new paths by climbing up the edge of roofs, fences, and obstacles up to 2.5 meters high, and jump from building to building or container to container.
Now that players can move to places they weren't able to reach before, we look forward to seeing gameplay with new strategies climbing to places your opponent won't be able to anticipate.
How to use
You can activate ledge grab by either jumping or vaulting (space bar) and then continue to press the space bar or by pressing the space bar at the right timing in midair, heading towards the target location.
You can cancel the ledge grab while it is activated and fall to the ground by following the same method of cancelling the vaulting/climbing.
A message from the Dev. team on ledge grab
This is the first iteration of ledge grab, you cannot yet hang on the railings or slide down railings. However, ledge grab will be updated twice in total including this update, the dev team will keep working to enable those features just mentioned from the other update in the future.
We anticipate a similar adoption period for ledge grab as we had with the initial introduction of vaulting. We will work to isolate any improvements or modifications that need to be made during the early stages of the feature's launch.
Please try out the new ledge grab and kindly give us your feedback so that we can further improve and polish the feature, which is the utmost priority to the Dev. team.
We will continue to make our best efforts to quickly ensure the feature is as stable and useful as possible. We very much appreciate your interest and feedback.
Improved Gas Can
"We like the cans. The cans that go boom!"
Features
Added strategic elements to the Gas Can, an item that used to be seen to have few advantages to loot.
As soon as Gas Can explodes, it will deal damage to all players in a radius around it's location.
When the Gas Can is blown up, it deals damage in a radius around it, dealing more damage to those close by
Keep in mind that you can hurt both yourself and your teammates if you stand to close to the explosion, so be careful!
How to use
Drop a Gas Can on the ground and damage it with bullets or throwables, which will cause it to explode and deal damage to those close by.
Each Gas Can will now display individually in the inventory when players have more than one Gas Can to reduce confusion, as dropping multiple Gas Cans will not multiply the damage.
Example:
Radio Message
"You can't talk over a chicken dinner if you don't communicate in a match. Radio Messages will keep you coordinated with every teammate, no matter the region or mic situation. "
Playing with players from different regions in random Duo or Squad matches or players with no access to voice chat have made it difficult to establish team-based strategy through close communication between team members. To help solve this problem, we are introducing text-based Radio Messages that will help you communicate with your team more quickly and easily for successful strategic gameplay.
Hold the mouse wheel or F3 to open the Radio Message Wheel UI.
There are 8 types of messages provided–selected messages will be displayed on the left screen and immediately shown to your teammates.
Ping and Enemy Spotted, in particular, can be used in various circumstances. You can use them more quickly with separate key bindings.
Ping: Click the mouse wheel or press F3
Enemy Spotted: Double click the mouse wheel or double press F3
Pings has various interactions.
Select Ping near a certain item, and you can share the name and location of the pinged item with your teammates.
You can also use Ping on Care Packages or death crates to share their location.
Ping the direction you want to move toward to share the direction with your teammates.
All these features above automatically place a marker on the map and will be useful to utilize together with the Tactical Map Marker.
Enemy Spotted allows you to quickly share the location of an enemy you've spotted.
Use Enemy Spotted at the enemy's location to mark it on the map and share it with your teammates.
Messages vary by distance:
Near Range: less than 50M
Medium Range: less than 200M
Long Range: 200M or more
Example: ENEMY SPOTTED! Long Range 300'
Ping and Enemy Spotted send messages to teammates within 500M.
Need Ammo works dynamically, with the message reflecting the ammo type of the weapon you are holding.
Example: If you select Need Ammo while holding an M416, the message sent to your teammates will be "I NEED 5.56mm."
You can mute Radio Messages from teammates individually in the Team Management menu.
Kill distance has been added to center-screen kill messages.
The distance between you and the enemy you killed will be displayed alongside the standard kill message in the middle of the screen.
Kill distance will only be shown you kill enemies from over 100 m away.
This will appear only when you kill the enemy by yourself.
DBNO kill messages remain the same and won't show kill distance.

I’m Jeongjin Kook, part of the PUBG development team working on the BP ecosystem. Today, I wanted to take a little time to discuss BP and our upcoming plans for it. As many of you know, players are rewarded at the end of each match with a certain amount of BP, or Battlegrounds Points. BP is the default currency of PUBG and can be used to purchase crates or limited release items in the in-game store. As our game grew and we focused on content and fixing fundamental issues, the amount of BP in the economy grew, as we weren’t regularly adding new ways for our players to spend it.
We understand that BP is an important currency in PUBG, as it represents the time you’ve invested into our game, so we’ve been thinking of new ways to reward you for that time spent. Today, we would like to share our upcoming plans for BP and some of the upcoming items you’ll be able to purchase with it.
How to obtain BP
“BP = Reward for playtime + kills + damage inflicted + rank” First, we’ll go over the basics of BP. Our Dev Team addressed BP acquisition balance last September, to make earning BP more consistent with the fundamental goal of PUBG- survival. The modified system enabled players to obtain BP in proportion to the number of games played, regardless of which mode or map they played on.
<Average BP per account trends(PC Version)> *Average BP trends in Console platforms may differ
But as you can see in the graph above, there was still a considerable amount of BP accumulating over time without being spent. It became clear that we had to offer our players new options for spending their BP so that the currency could regain its diminishing value.
Direction of improvement
We want your time spent in PUBG to be valuable and thus wanted BP to be able to purchase some cool new items on all platforms. The goal for these items is to provide something everyone can work towards, from smaller items like costumes, all the way up to a couple bigger items that won’t come cheap, but celebrate the skill of a player with that much BP lying around. The first of the new BP items will start to appear with the June patch for PC version and there is no planned time for removal from the store, meaning you can take your time and save up for what you want! In addition, we’re planning on letting you use BP in some other ways as well. For example, we’re exploring changing out some of the upcoming Survivor Pass missions more often at the cost of BP.
Of course, we’ll continue to look at additional ways that we can let you get the most out of your hard earned currency. If things go well as our dev team envisions that BP would become more effective, our next step would be considering how to diversify channels through which both our PC and console players can acquire BP beyond only earning it as gameplay rewards in the long-term.
Closing thoughts
We appreciate every hour you spend in our game and we want to make sure you feel rewarded for that dedication. With the addition of these items, we hope the increased value of BP makes it a worthy reward for the time you spend in PUBG. New BP items of June’s patch for PC are only the beginning of this initiative and we will continue to keep BP a satisfying reward as we expand its usage and release more items. Console will also move forward with this direction and plan, and we will share you soon for more information. As always, any and all feedback is welcome and will be of great help as we continue to refine BP and its future uses.
Thank you.
– Jeongjin Kook from Design Team of PUBG Premium Dev Unit

First off, we want to thank you for such an amazing year so far. The first half of 2019 has flown by quickly, but certainly has not seen the last of the exciting updates we have planned for PUBG. We’ve been hard at work on some of the great new updates we talked about earlier in the year, and wanted to take a moment to go over the development direction for all of our platforms in the coming months. Below, you’ll find an important message from TS Jang, Executive Producer and Head of Development at PUBG. He will guide you through our vision for the game and some of the exciting things we’re working on, including information on how you can help test the update to our beloved Erangel map.
For the past few months, we’ve been sharing our plans to bring our very first map, Erangel, up to the same level of polish as our more recent maps. We started way back in March with an initial balance of loot and followed it up more recently with a full loot pass. We’re excited to finally give you a sneak peek at some of the other improvements we’ve had in the works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwhfiszWwjE
With this test, you’ll see new building styles, more realistic scenery and terrain, some new and changed areas within the map, and test settings for an updated Blue Zone.
As with previous stages of the Erangel update, these changes will be rolled out on the Test Server first, allowing players to get in, test map stability, check out all the updates, and provide their feedback before this hits live servers later this summer.
Detailed plans for the Test Server operation are as follows.
Test Information
PC Test Server Availability: 6/6 8:00 p.m. – 6/11 8:00 p.m. (PDT)
Public matchmaking and Partner Custom Matches available
Only the updated Erangel map is available. Quick Join is also available.
Squad mode only. FPP only in North America and TPP only on Asia servers.
All players can participate
When Phase 1 begins, the partners listed below can make the session and you can join the custom match rooms. Look out for your favorite streamers below and jump in for a game!
Phase 1 PUBG Partners for NA/EMEA/LATAM
As mentioned above, this test will feature some new Blue Zone settings we’ve been working on to help Erangel feel more up-to-date based on emerging playstyles and tactics. These settings are experimental and subject to change based on your feedback. Test details for the Blue Zone balance are as follows:
Changes to Erangel’s Blue Zone for Testing
(applied on the test server during the test period only)
Blue Zone timings are faster throughout the match.
Blue Zone delay is reduced in the earlier phase.
Size of the safe zone is reduced in the earlier phase.
Blue Zone speed is reduced in the early & middle phases.
Blue Zone damage is slightly increased in the later phase.
Blue Zone delay is reduced in the last phase.
We are excited to finally be able to share our work with you and look forward to your feedback on this new take on our classic map. This update will be available on PC and consoles by late summer this year. More information and specific plans will be announced at a later date.
We know Erangel is a beloved part of PUBG that stirs up passion among our players. Rest assured, we’ll make every effort to keep Erangel feeling like the map you fell in love with while bringing it in line with how players enjoy PUBG today. As always, we look forward to your invaluable feedback and we hope you enjoy the Erangel Visual Update and Blue Zone changes.
