We’ve got a big update for you all today! Alongside additional FIX PUBG progress, we’re releasing the heavily requested Training Mode, the brand new MK47 Mutant, the already fan-favorite Tukshai vehicle for Sanhok, and the new Laser Sight attachment. On top of that, we’re introducing a brand new rewards system just for playing PUBG and completing missions, the reintroduction of an updated marker system, on-screen network information, and much more. Read on for everything coming in Update 21!

  • MIC TEST UI/UX: Added the ability to test your MIC input within the game
Bug Fixes
  • UI/UX #02: Fixed the issue where, after connecting the XBOX controller to the PC, the drop-down menu would not appear to select the reason for reporting on the results screen.
  • CHARACTER POSITION #01: Fixed the issue where the position of the character who boarded a car is fixed at a very strange spot

  • UNDERWATER ANIMATION: Fixed the issue where the character is shown choppy from top to bottom when underwater and unable to move to dry land because of the terrain.
  • UAZ DAMAGE TAKEN: Fixed the issue where you sometimes received more damage comparatively to other vehicles when driving a UAZ and colliding with a landmark.
  • AFTERIMAGE: Fixed an issue where when unarming/arming a weapon quickly would cause the weapon to briefly display on the screen in the incorrect location (separate to the floating gun issue)
  • MONITOR RESOLUTION #01: Fixed an issue where 2560x1440 screen resolution wouldn’t display properly when using a 2560x1660 monitor.

New Feature: Training Mode

  • Added a Training Mode where you can practice all aspects of PUBG gameplay
  • The Training Mode map is 2x2 in size
  • You can join through matchmaking by clicking on the “Training Mode” button in the lobby.
    • When there are more than 5 players in the matchmaking queue, the session will start immediately. Players will continue to join open sessions for up to 5 minutes after they start. (Up to 20 per session)
    • If there are less than 5 players in the matchmaking queue, matchmaking will continue for 5 minutes
    • If there are still less than 5 players after 5 minutes, the session will start with the original number of players present and other players cannot join the session.
    • Total play time is 30 minutes (e.g. in case of number 2, where you immediately enter a session, you have 5 minutes where other players can join the session + regular training mode playing time of 25 minutes)
    • Players cannot drop below 1hp in Training mode

  • Several changes have been made to the Training Mode, based on player feedback received during the test server period.
    • Vehicle tires can no longer be damaged
    • Stun grenades and smoke grenades have been removed
    • Added more gas cans so players can drive for longer

New Weapon: MK47 Mutant

  • Added a new AR weapon: the MK47 Mutant
  • MK47 Mutant can be acquired on all maps (Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok) through world spawn
  • MK47 Mutant is an AR weapon using 7.62mm bullets and has a 20 round capacity, which can be upgraded to 30 rounds with an extended magazine.
  • The Mutant has 2 firing modes: single shot and 2-round burst
  • Almost all types of attachments can be used with the MK47, but it has no stock slot
New Sanhok Exclusive Vehicle: Tukshai

  • Added a new vehicle that will be exclusive to the Sanhok map
  • The Tukshai is a 3 person vehicle that substitutes the UAZ, Dacia and Minibus
  • The Tukshai is slower compared to the previous vehicles, but fits perfectly with Sahnok’s environment
Supply System


  • Added the supply system which grants you a reward based on completed missions and play time
  • You can level up and get rewards when you fill the Survival gauge with survival XP
  • Missions will be refreshed daily and weekly.
  • You earn a reward every time you gain a survival level
Restructuring of the BP System
  • Previously, we offered BP rewards based only on your ranking. Now, we’ve restructured the system to take into account both play time and ranking.
  • Rewards have been restructured to equalize the differences in BP efficiency based on playing time for each Map and Mode.
  • We’ve changed team rewards to be shared
    • You will no longer receive 4 times the BP because you were playing alone in a squad game
Known Issue
  • When the language is set to Thai or Arabic, occasional frame drops can occur in certain situations. Our engineers are working to resolve this as soon as possible.
    • Setting the in-game language to English or another language is a temporary solution, while our team work to resolve this.

  • Added a new attachment: the Laser Sight
    • Bullet spread is reduced when hip firing and soft-aiming
    • The Laser Sight fits on weapons with a lower rail slot available, taking up the grip slot.
    • Currently, there is a known issue that the laser effect is not displayed in the death cam or replay. This issue will be resolved soon.

  • Added the improved Marker/Ping System first introduced for testing on the 8/1 test server update
    • Using ALT + Mouse wheel click, you can create a marker where you are aiming on the compass at the top of the screen (not visible in the world)
      • You may change the key bindings freely in options
  • All team members can see this marker on the compass
  • After setting the marker, there is a 2 second cooldown before you can mark again
  • The marker on the compass will automatically disappear after 5 seconds
  • When the ping markers overlap, the closest located marker will be shown on top.
  • Improved the visuals for blue zone effects
    • Bluezone effects are now shown more clearly.
      While the Bluezone is closing in, it will be easier to see from a longer distance than before
    • Bluezone effects looked differently depending on the map and weather. We’ve improved this so that the Bluezone effect is visually similar in all conditions.

  • Added an option to check state of Voice Chat input in settings
    • You can check it at: Settings > Sound > Voice Chat category

  • Added a Network Information function that can display Ping, connection speed, packets, and packet loss.

    • This will be located in the top left of the screen.
    • You can change the settings to On/Off at Settings > Gameplay > UI > Network debug statistics
  • Improved the UI menu for Appearance > Wardrobe, Weapons, Gear

    • Improvements made to make various items more visible.
    • Added a filter function at the left of screen, so that you can filter by certain categories

    • Previously, players would receive permanent rewards every 10 levels gained, but because players started on level 1, the first permanent reward would be awarded at level 11. This was pretty confusing, so we've changed this to instead give permanent rewards at level 10 and then every 10 additional levels from there.
      • Each player who is higher than level 2 in the Supply Reward system has also been granted an additional level up reward for any confusion caused by the original implementation.

Hey everyone,

We wanted to talk briefly about Steam account security, as we’ve been seeing a growing number of Steam account thefts being reported recently. These thieves gain access to your Steam account and often change the email associated with the account, making it impossible for the true owner to regain control. Stolen accounts are often used to run illegal programs, which can result in the account being banned even if it is recovered. While we and Steam are always discussing better ways to protect your account, we’d like to point out some options available right now to greatly increase your account’s security to protect against thefts such as these.

Steam Guard is an additional level of security that, when enabled, requires you to enter a special one-time access code that is sent directly to your e-mail address or mobile device. This means that in order for potential thieves to gain access to your account, they’ll also need access to your phone or e-mail account, greatly increasing your account’s security. This code is required any time your account is accessed from a device that Steam does not recognize.

For more protection, The Steam Mobile Authenticator can be added as an additional requirement each time you log into your account.

Activating Steam Guard

1. After logging in to Steam, click on your account name on the top right and go to “Account details.


2. Click on “Manage Steam Guard.


3. Check email and/or phone authentication. (Add both for the highest security)


Adding a Phone Number

1. Click on “Add a phone number” under “Contact Info.”


2. You can add your phone number after a simple authentication process. (If you already have Mobile Authenticator enabled, your phone number is added automatically.)


Enabling the Mobile Authenticator

1. Download the “Steam” app from Google Play or the “Steam Mobile” app from the App Store depending on your device type.

2. Open the app, log in to your Steam account, press the Settings button on the top left, and select “Steam Guard.


3. Press the “Add Authenticator” button.


4. Enter the number of the phone on which you installed the authenticator.


5. Once you’ve verified your phone using the confirmation SMS sent to the number you entered, you will see a recovery code screen.
(The recovery code is necessary for restoring your account if you lose your phone, so make sure you save/write down the code in a separate location.)


6. All done! Every time you log into Steam, you will now see a window where you must enter your Steam Guard code.


The vast majority of stolen accounts do not have additional protective measures, so we strongly encourage that you follow our guides above on how to enable these security measures so you can focus on securing those chicken dinners instead of trying to get your account back.

After a long weekend of battling tooth and nail against 160 of the toughest PUBG broadcasters, one team has emerged victorious!

Les Krotins has walked away with $250,000 and the Broadcaster Royale Season 1 Championship Belt. THZ_TV and Dahmien7 racked up a combined total of 24 kills and led the pack with a grand total of 956 points to secure the first place win.

The battle for second was even closer, with ASM narrowly beating out 68+1 by a mere 12 points. A big congratulations to all teams for their great performances in the Grand Finals of Broadcaster Royale Season 1. Ghillie Crossing has returned! Stealth is key here as you take to the Erangel countryside with crossbows and ghillie suits. Normal weapons do not spawn in this event, and instead you will only be able to rely on Crossbows, Throwables (minus grenades), and melee weapons. Ghillie suits spawn alongside normal loot and there are no vehicles or care packages. Battle it out against other squads in the ultimate stealth war game, where every bush or field of grass can mean a silent and unexpected death!

Hey everyone,

Since July, broadcasters from all over the world have paired up and battled it out in regional qualifiers to claim their spot in the Broadcaster Royale Finals, presented by Twitch. Now, the 80 teams of finalists will all compete across the 3-day finals tournament, fighting for their piece of the $300,000 prize pool up for grabs.

The Broadcaster Royale Finals tournament will be held from Friday, August 31st until Sunday, September 2nd and you can tune in live on Twitch or in-person at the Paramount Theater in Seattle, WA.

To attend in person, join us at the Paramount Theater any time after the doors open at 10:00 AM PDT. There will be viewing areas, the PUBG PlayZone, and of course free swag!

Anyone with a PAX West 2018 Badge for that day may attend in person, but seating will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Desert Knights is back as this week’s event! Join a 5-person squad and drop into Miramar, as you take on War Mode kitted out with level three gear and a crate weapon. Your mission is to eliminate as many of the endless opposition as possible and rack up points for your team. The first team to reach 200 points, or the team with the highest total after 15 minutes, takes the win!

RULES
  • War Mode
  • Ten 5-man squads fight on Miramar
  • All players spawn with level three gear and a care package weapon
  • Killed players respawn in planes that fly by every 40 seconds
  • Taking lethal damage results in instant death, as opposed to being knocked out.
  • Eliminating an enemy earns your team 3 points.
  • If no team reaches 200 points after 15 minutes, the team with the most point wins.
  • Vehicles will not spawn

  • 5-person squads only. Auto-matching is forced
  • Weather is Sunrise
  • Red zones are disabled
  • Care packages are disabled
  • Friendly fire is disabled
