The results are in and Gen.G GOLD have won the Third Person Perspective leg of the 2018 PUBG Global Invitational! After several tense standoffs with second place winners Team Liquid, they were able to secure the #1 spot with a commanding lead of 605 points. GOLD takes home the first place prize of $400,000 USD and EscA, who led the pack to earn the Intel Awards for Most Kills and Longest Survivor, walked away with $20,000 in bonus cash. A big congratulations to Gen.G GOLD!
While the lead for first place was fairly commanding going into the final round, some would say the real battle was for second and third place. Team Liquid, Welcome to South Georgo, OMG, and Pittsburgh Knights all fought hard in the final rounds to capture and hold the remaining big money placings. In the end, Team Liquid held on to second by a mere 40 points over WTSG who scored high with a chicken dinner in the last game.
But PGI 2018 is far from over! These same teams will battle it out on Saturday and Sunday in the First Person Perspective leg of the tournament, and Friday marks the star-studded PGI Charity Showdown, where popular streamer personalities such as Shroud, Ninja, and DrDisRespect will join up with some of our pro competitors and face off for yet another $1 million USD prize pool for the charity of their choice. Be sure to tune in and cheer on your favorite streamer starting at 7am PDT | 4pm CEST | 11pm KST as they unleash carnage for a cause!
If you’re attending PGI in Berlin and want to join the audience for the Charity Showdown, tickets will be given on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone who brings in a PGI ticket from any of the 4 days. Below is a quick FAQ about the Charity Showdown and how you can attend.
1. On July 27, you will be given a separate ticket to the Charity Showdown if you bring in one of your existing PGI tickets from any other day. 2. Charity Showdown tickets will be distributed starting at 12PM CEST, on a first-come, first-served basis. There are limited tickets, so be sure to come early! 3. Audiences may enter starting at 3PM. 4. Shroud and DrDisRespect will be available for a meet and greet from 3-4 CEST before the Charity Showdown begins.
That’s all for now! A big congratulations to our PGI 2018 teams for a fierce competition so far. Stay tuned here and on our other channels to keep up to date of the Charity Showdown and the remainder of the PGI tournament!

HOW TO WATCH
Tune into watchpgi.pubg.com to get full access to individuals streams for EVERY team competing in the tournament. Or check out all our other usual channels for a more standardized viewing experience.
It’s been a long road leading up to today, but we are pleased to announce that PGI 2018 is officially kicking off RIGHT NOW! After opening ceremonies have concluded, our 20 teams will face off for the first time in what is sure to be an epic tournament.
There are a variety of ways to watch all the action, but we wanted to talk about a special project we’ve been working on for this tournament. The PGI website’s live stream page features the normal streams you’ll see on the typical streaming sites, but we’ve also added the ability to watch each individual team from start to finish during the match, including real time casting in that team’s native language. This allows you to experience PGI the way you want, instead of there being only one stream trying to show all the action.
https://youtu.be/2CY4IiFyAjo Tune into watchpgi.pubg.com for this brand new way to experience PUBG tournaments, or tune into one of our other channels to watch all the action as you’re used to!
The day we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. Today is the grand opening of PGI 2018 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin!
To kick off the first day of PGI, players will be able to receive the ‘Sporty Set’ as an exclusive login reward. The Sporty Set is one of four PGI 2018 commemorative skin sets that we unveiled two weeks ago.
As for how to nab this set, we’re making this as simple as possible. Just log into the game any time while PGI 2018 is happening - that’s any time from NOW until July 30 8am PDT / 5pm CEST.
This set is untradeable, unmarketable and can only be acquired during the times above.
Starting after today's maintenance, you can support your favorite PGI teams and show your support in-game with the purchase of a team logo hoodie!
These new in-game hoodies are the first ever in-game items to feature PUBG esports team-branded logos, and best of all, revenue from the hoodie sales will go directly to the teams themselves, making your support even more worthwhile! Head to the PGI2018 tab in the in-game store and select from the list there. Then be sure to tune in to PGI and cheer your favorite team as they battle for the ultimate Chicken Dinner!
PGI 2018 in-game hoodies will be available through August 16.

Earlier this week we announced the open beta test for custom matches. This is something that many people have been waiting for a long time, and we’re sure a ton of you are eager to try out creating your own games!
With so many options and settings to play around with, some of you will probably feel a bit lost when setting up your first ever custom match. For that reason, we’ve created the user guide below to help explain how it all works.
As mentioned above, this is an open beta test, so keep in mind that there may be various changes made to the system over time. We’ll likely tweak things to reflect your feedback. Other changes in consideration of server or game stability may come as well (such as limitations on total number of sessions, or conditions for creating custom matches).
For now, let’s get into the details!

Create Match – Normal Mode
Name your custom match and set it to either public or private.
Select a game mode (normal is the standard “battle royale” experience).
Select a preset—more of these will be made available over time.
These are default settings which are necessary to create any custom match.
The game will be created on the regional server location selected on the lobby screen.
Note: Currently a minimum of 10 players are required before being able to start the match.
Once the lobby is created, you can then access the following settings via the “Match Setting” button.
Normal Mode - Basic Settings
You can change your custom match name here.
Choose whether your session will be public or private (with a password).
Displays selected server region. It will default to the region you’ve set on the main menu lobby screen and can’t be changed here.

Adjust the amount of time required to revive downed players.
This controls how quickly downed players bleed out.
Adjust damage inflicted by friendly fire. Make it a lot... or not a lot!
This sets how quickly the blue zone will move during each phase. Leave this at 1x if you want to change the speed of each phase individually.
Set the delay for when the next safe zone will appear.
This setting controls the time until the blue zone starts moving once the next circle has been shown.
Adjust how fast the blue zone moves during each phase .
Set how much damage the blue zone deals.
This number controls how small each safe zone will be compared to the previous safe zone. (0.1 will make it 10% the size of the previous safe zone).
The number indicates the likelihood of the next safe zone appearing closer to the center of the current circle (10 creates the next safe zone right in the center). For the first phase, setting this to 10 will make the safe zone appear in the center of the map.
Adjust the probability of the center of the next safe zone being on land (e.g. 0.1 for 10%, 0.5 for 50%)
This indicates the total round time.
Choose whether to display the location of the final safe zone (only works if the “END CIRCLE LOCATION FIX RATIO” is set to somewhere between 1% and 100%

Allow special care packages to be called using flareguns.
Adjust the number of items contained in the care packages called using flareguns
Adjust the total number of special care packages available to be dropped per phase when shooting a flaregun inside the safe zone (white circle). Remaining available air drops will be rolled over into the next phase.
Adjust the total number of armored vehicles available to be dropped per phase when shooting the flaregun outside the safe zone (white circle).
Remaining available air drops will be rolled over into the next phase. When this is set as -99, it will reset the accumulated crates available.
Choose whether to automatically convert dead players to observers. The option labelled “ONLY HOST” means that only the creator of the custom match will be converted to an observer upon death.
Toggle killer spectating on or off.
Normal Mode - Spawn Settings
Adjust item spawn ratio and the total spawn amount of all items. There’s three overarching options here which we can explain quickly:
“Fixed Ratio & Adjustable Total Number” means that when you adjust the multiplier for any given item, it only affects the spawn rate of that item.
“Adjustable Ratio & Fixed Total Number” means that the overall number of items spawned will be the same no matter what. So when you adjust the multiplier for any given item, it affects how often it spawns relative to other items.
“Adjustable Ratio & Adjustable Total Number” allows you to adjust the overall spawn rate for all items while also adjusting the relative spawn rate of items within that pool.
Adjust spawn rates for specific items. For each item category (like “Ammunitions” or “Weapons”) you can also adjust the overall spawn rate for that type of item. Setting “Ammunitions” to 0 means that no ammunition of any type will spawn.
Adjust spawn rate of land-based vehicles, compared to normal settings.
Adjust spawn rate of water-based vehicles, compared to normal settings.

Adjust the amount of time required to revive downed players.
This controls how quickly downed players bleed out.
Set how much health players will have after being revived.
If set to “Static,” the blue zone won’t ever move in during the match. If set to “WARROYALE” the safe zone will shrink over the course of the match.
Adjust this number to increase or decrease the size of the safe zone.

Once again, there are a limited number of skin sets available through this particular giveaway, but keep your eye on our social channels for other ways to grab this and other upcoming skin sets. This giveaway is limited to one set per account, so double check to make sure you’ve entered your name correctly. Also, please note that this giveaway is for PC only.
Metal Rain is returning to PUBG in this week’s event mode! As before, players will be able to call either an armored UAZ or a special care package by using flare guns found throughout the map. Gather your friends or join a random group of 8 and battle it out for control of the airdrops in this all-out battle for superior firepower!
UPDATES
We’ve improved the mode’s UI so players get a visual displaying which drop the flare gun will call in their current location and how many of each drop remain. This can be seen in the Map screen (M by default). Once the flare gun is fired, it will be marked on the map so that players can easily find where the care package drop point is.
