This weeks minor update includes graphical updates including new lightning effects!
Other changes include new editor features where you can trigger vehicle logic with missions. This feature is very simple but powerful - by allowing missions to press vehicle buttons, and allowing mission completion to depend on vehicle logic, anything that is possible in vehicle logic is now possible in missions. Complete the mission by reaching a certain altitude or speed? Easy. Salvage a sunken vessel to the surface? Right a capsized vessel? No problem.
We also have lots of fixes and improvements too. Check the change log below.
We are continuing to improve multiplayer and are currently working on connecting through Steam friends, including NAT traversal and no more IP addresses.

This week has been a big one, there is a LOT of cool stuff!
The missions editor has been expanded so you can now configure more about your missions including what types of weather it requires, you can attach fire and zones to vehicles, as well as loads of new UI.
There is a new part - the sign. This is a 9x9 paintable grid, the same size as a regular block allowing you to paint loads of detailed signs and logos onto your vehicles for that next level of detail. There is also a backlit layer on the sign which you can also paint, allowing custom indicator symbols and more!
Multiplayer has had a big quality pass, so large vehicles now work much better, as do connectors, handles and loads of other fixes.

The missions update is here! This means loads of new missions content, new islands, new mega island, new mission editor with workshop support, fixes and more!
Feature - new mission editor with Steam Workshop support
A brand new editing suite to author missions in Stormworks. Designed for creating campaigns, players can create playlists of missions, select locations, place characters, vehicles, fires, cargo, zones, and more, and then add objectives to their missions, write briefings, and test their creations out in game. This is a very powerful, in depth suite of tools that is easy to use. This is how the official mission content is created.
Feature - new set of official missions content
Several completely new mission campaigns, replacing all existing missions and greatly increasing the number of missions, their variety, and scalability. These new mission campaigns range from critical sea rescues in stormy seas to major incident responses on flaming oil rigs.
Feature - 10 new island locations including a 6 sq km mega island
A huge expansion of the locations to visit through exploration or mission content, new locations include a new oil rig, oil refinery, abandoned sea fort, and a huge mega island incorporating a quarry and mining site, large airfield, dock, and several villages.
Feature - fire system including new water cannon component
Fire is introduced in missions, along with the necessary extinguishing equipment that integrates with the existing water pumps and tanks to create fire fighting mechanical equipment.
We are still improving and expanding this feature so expect lots of updates on this over the next couple of weeks. After this we plan to shift focus to improving multiplayer, end of week minor updates, and the next major update.

Today we are announcing that fire is coming to Stormworks!
This will be included in Major Update 1, which will arrive very soon! We are really excited by this new update which focuses on missions content, and will bring a lot of new stuff to do, as well as a fundamental rethink on how missions work.
We have released several hotfixes this week but there is no minor update today, as we are preparing for the major update. We will be releasing more info on this soon.

This latest patch also includes some changes to the way missions work in Stormworks in preparation for our major update in the coming weeks. The missions added in this patch are placeholders for testing the new system which we'll be revealing more of very soon. As such, old mission data will no longer be present in previously saved games due to incompatibility. As always, we appreciate all feedback and bug reports, and can't wait to show you what we've been working on!
We just added a new aero-propeller, made all aero propellers blades change angle with collective control and thrust vectoring, and added a new titan class ship propeller.
This comes along with a performance improvement, and many other fixes.
We are hard at work on the new Missions update, expect an announcement on this next week!

Attaching to docks, anchors, and securing containers are now things in Stormworks!
We have added the "Mag-All" - a sticky connector that will attach to most objects in the world including the ground, vehicles, and carry-able items.
But be careful - this connector has limits, and if the force exceeds its limit (200) then the connection will release. You can measure the force using the stress force logic node on the Mag-All.
We have also added a new winch - with a length of 100m!
